[00:00:56] Alright, the guy's waiting for you. Randy Rodgers here. Hold my beer volume 3. Really fun
[00:01:15] project. We've loved all of them. Obviously I had you on before and we'll get into that
[00:01:19] a lot but I didn't want to mention music right now is really interesting. Everything
[00:01:24] seems to be under a microscope as you guys are probably seeing me on Twitter, TikTok,
[00:01:29] one little thing, opinion, some subject. Whatever pops off. I know you guys are friends with Miranda.
[00:01:35] We were laughing at all the selfie stuff. What was your whole take on that? Because I just
[00:01:40] like, I know you guys just hung with her and I just found it like pretty insane that
[00:01:44] that became a national story when it did but you guys know her way better than we do. So
[00:01:50] I'd be curious to know what you thought of the whole thing. Yeah, I mean, come on,
[00:01:55] dude. I mean Miranda's as well as I get. I mean obviously to get it blown out of proportion
[00:02:00] like that is just absurd. I don't know. I wasn't there. I did kind of pick around a little
[00:02:05] bit and think, man, those girls had to have been pretty bad to have that even happen
[00:02:10] and then for her to make jokes about it later on. You know, I don't know if you saw the
[00:02:14] follow-up or someone gave her tequila. I said take tequila and outself these words.
[00:02:19] I mean, that's, you know, we all know the man. Miranda is all about her fans and all
[00:02:24] about her shows but I mean it was, you know, if you look back at the videos during a
[00:02:30] very quiet and I've yet, I feel like a bad friend. I've yet to see the show in Vegas
[00:02:34] but I've heard it's absolutely phenomenal on every level and very intense at times.
[00:02:39] And so I'm sure it's like, I mean from what I understood that particular group was way
[00:02:45] out of control with that all night. It wasn't just one particular, hey, we're going to
[00:02:49] do a selfie and then she told us now. I mean, come on. There's always more to the story
[00:02:53] and I love how our keyboard warriors love to just jump in and attack people at every
[00:02:59] moment. I mean it's really sad that that's the reality we live in now, you know?
[00:03:04] Yeah, you know, and I saw where that one of the ladies went on TMZ and like didn't
[00:03:09] get over or so course. Yeah, it's like 50 minutes. Yeah, exactly that's all about that.
[00:03:16] I mean, that was an opening, the open to Pandora's box for somebody to get that and use that
[00:03:22] for publicity. But I mean, it's not like this is something new with Miranda. I mean,
[00:03:28] she is known and famous and popular for the fact that she always speaks her mind with
[00:03:33] her music and her shows and whatever they'll. I mean, when we just sit around a drink
[00:03:37] and walk it together, she's coughing just, you know, like I mean, that's her personality.
[00:03:41] You get that East Texas spirit no matter what and people, you know, it's just ridiculous.
[00:03:48] I love it. I think it's just more good publicity for her. Yeah, even not just her but in general,
[00:03:53] like it is like a social awareness thing. She was like whatever about the her case. But
[00:03:58] if like you're the fans, part of it, it's like a weird end of it set up right once they
[00:04:02] have like tables and stuff. Like if you're up close and you're like putting your back
[00:04:06] towards it's just like awkward. Just wait, just wait a little bit. What would I talk
[00:04:10] way too a lot about her? I was also finding it funny. All the people that were like nice,
[00:04:16] come on because we've shared a bunch of these two. Like when she's invited a little girl
[00:04:20] on stage to see with her or this or that and it's like, my friends who I was talking about
[00:04:24] now it's like no, it's like people want to get that five minutes on Twitter of their
[00:04:29] tweet going viral or TikTok. But all these other instances of her bringing people up doesn't
[00:04:33] get attention. So yeah, I'm just curious to get you guys thoughts on that. It was just
[00:04:37] funny. You know, I'm sure music in general right now has been interesting with the whole
[00:04:41] you've seen all this stuff going on in the news. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I joke around because
[00:04:47] obviously I love when people take pictures. It's I think there's a moment for it in
[00:04:52] the show whenever you know, like it's fine. I think there's a moment when they should
[00:04:55] probably not do it, but you know, people are there to have fun drinking and let them do what
[00:05:00] they do. But I always joke around and say there are moments where you feel like a zoo animal
[00:05:03] up there like, you know, they got their grip and they're all with you in the background. It's
[00:05:07] like man, yeah, like I feel like an answer chicken. There's a chicken.
[00:05:13] Have you ever had to like crack down on a fan for maybe not a pitcher but like something else?
[00:05:19] Maybe a fight in the crowd where you had to put the show and kind of knock it off type of shit.
[00:05:24] Yeah, I've had I've stopped shows and had people escorted out or carried out because they got beat up.
[00:05:31] I thought you know talking about the news and how touch of music is gone crazy the last few weeks
[00:05:36] and you know, artists complaining about getting hit with things on stage. That's been happening
[00:05:41] since the dawn of time. I mean, you've been throwing stuff at us for 25 years, you know?
[00:05:47] So all of a sudden somebody super famous gets hit with something. You should welcome to
[00:05:53] our the bars and venues we've been playing for years, you know? Yeah, is anybody ever seen roadhouse?
[00:06:01] Thanks man, her older does for years. We've grabbed at it.
[00:06:07] Well speaking of home, my beer volume 3 was awesome. You were mentioning Drinking Vaca and Miranda
[00:06:14] like when you guys make these, do you guys sit down and just drink a lot and ride and have a good time?
[00:06:18] Do you want to get that like the energy, the vibe of like a drinking environment?
[00:06:23] Because I just miss this simplicity sometimes with these songs because you see all the stuff in
[00:06:27] the news. Not that we were just talking about and it's just like nice to just put on a record like
[00:06:31] this and just like have a drink and chill out and have a good time. So kind of how is the process for
[00:06:35] it making this one for you guys? Yeah, I think that that's the beauty of these records for us
[00:06:43] is I mean technically it's a side project for both of us but it's really a release. Like it really is,
[00:06:51] I spent so much of my time and Randy does do you know? We spent so much more time crafting our
[00:06:55] songs for our bands and for our solo career you know, for what we have in our own and I mean
[00:07:01] I put a lot of I overthink everything in my life and not to say that these songs I don't
[00:07:08] overthink them as well because I do put a lot of passion and heart and to them and we both do you know
[00:07:13] but it's like it is nice to just it's okay for a little cheesy, it's okay for a little light-hearted
[00:07:19] or really light-hearted. Like that's what this is all about. It's a good release for me to just
[00:07:24] stop over thinking and just simply enjoy music for where it is. The strength of these is what we love
[00:07:31] like it's rooted heavily in the country music that we grew up listening to, the country music that
[00:07:37] we grew up dancing to and you know getting up the courage to ask a you know we're in the seventh grade
[00:07:42] getting up the courage to ask a girl across the way to two-step you know like and making sure my
[00:07:47] sisters who were older than me taught me had a two-step so I didn't look like a fool. You know those
[00:07:52] things those are the moments that I think are captured within these projects and they make it so fun
[00:07:58] for us and I think it's come so natural with our friendship you know it's just it's so easy.
[00:08:03] Yeah I'll also say that you know both of us are so busy that these songwriting sessions don't
[00:08:09] really just happen because we're drinking. I mean we have to like put on the calendar a October 5th
[00:08:15] we're gonna write you know whoever that day and I mean usually it does turn into drinking but
[00:08:22] yeah I mean yeah sorry to answer your question the reality is if Randy and I are together there's
[00:08:27] a 99.9% chance we're drinking together so there's your answer. It's like it's like us
[00:08:33] now we live in different states but still we get on the Zoom it's like all right
[00:08:36] let's have a beer yeah so in that in person it's like my wife's like what the hell have you been doing?
[00:08:43] I'm sure that some of our co-riders when they see his pop up on their schedule they're like
[00:08:48] oh yeah really excited yeah or they're like oh no yeah
[00:08:53] yeah
[00:08:55] well speaking of writing and drinking the perfect segue here uh
[00:08:59] Russian Anna article we did you guys were working or writing uh
[00:09:04] Asana Kranch with Oatso back in February I believe
[00:09:07] when I'm mistaken um we've had him out obviously he's one of the most unique
[00:09:12] coolest guys around and he's he's played this whole like country album with us for
[00:09:18] quite a while now we've had a lot of a couple times what was that like with co-
[00:09:22] listen general um I don't you probably can't divulge a lot I'm guessing but on the project but
[00:09:29] I assume something good is gonna come out of that well you know I heard he's making the record
[00:09:34] and he's not making the record who knows yeah um we wrote a bunch of songs with him and he had
[00:09:38] a bunch of other artists and you know creators out there with them too. Asana Kranch if you've
[00:09:43] ever been there um you will not forget it if you've never been a tar to explain uh
[00:09:49] it's in the middle of nowhere we visited the border wall one night. Oh well um
[00:09:54] we got told by the uh federalists to get the hell out of there now it was a little scared um
[00:10:00] the gentleman that owns Anna Kranch is a very unique human being uh we had dinner with him
[00:10:06] um it's a place that definitely you can go to and solely work on your craft and work
[00:10:13] on music because it is in the middle of nowhere. Awesome yeah I think recorded there. I've never recorded
[00:10:21] there no lots of people. Now we a lot of people have we'd never done it um and I can see why co-lobs
[00:10:27] and it's very it's when we got out there and sort of hanging out I was like okay this this
[00:10:32] seems like a place co would love um and it it is it's a it's a very unique place it's really cool
[00:10:38] it's I love co I think he's I think he's uh by he's a fantastic person I mean he he gets his
[00:10:44] reputation of any I mean for good measure he he is a party crazy fun dude but he also is a really
[00:10:50] really good guy and he's a really actually really good hang and that you know that was really fun
[00:10:56] for me just just the three of us are so busy man we don't get to we don't get to do what we did
[00:11:01] and I like the fact that we made time for it and we did get some stuff accomplished and I thought
[00:11:05] we wrote some good songs I think we can write continue to write more songs together I think
[00:11:10] it all really worked well and he's a good musician he's a uh he plays a lot of different instruments
[00:11:15] that people don't really know about and uh he's a really good producer in his own right um he's
[00:11:20] he's very savvy with the studio which I didn't really know a whole lot of and he's obviously a
[00:11:25] really great songwriter so I really had a lot of fun and I hope we do again it was it was cool
[00:11:30] yeah I feel like we've always kind of multiple times on this podcast but have always kind of
[00:11:35] been like you see Co from the outside but he's such a teddy bear of a person like the sweetest guy
[00:11:43] such a great hang um but I also think too like creatively he has a little bit of like a
[00:11:48] a postmolone in a way where he kind of just has his own thing very unique very visual like he sees
[00:11:55] this thing and then creates it and it's kind of unlike anybody else but he also kind of appeared on
[00:12:02] the we anti only ones along with a handful of other Texas country stars and some of your buddies
[00:12:10] kind of what was the thought behind that process or thought process behind that song because you
[00:12:14] guys kind of just tipped the cap to a lot of your buddies and contemporaries in the Texas music scene
[00:12:19] and then you know some legends like Jerry Jeff and Robert Roque and such a cool song to kind of just
[00:12:25] tipped the caps all your buddies yeah before we go into too much detail on that I will say
[00:12:30] most if not all mentioned artists gave way to our eye or both the text saying thank you
[00:12:36] all right there were a few that we didn't hear from but nobody said
[00:12:42] your jury buddy be like what the hell are you making in this song yeah well of course that
[00:12:48] yeah there's there's there was a few of those and we were worried about it
[00:12:51] we're stressed out about it uh we actually originally wrote the song and then uh it was about
[00:12:57] half that many people and we found a way to cram like I don't even know how many's I I need to go
[00:13:01] through account how many's actually in there but we at least doubled it I think more than doubled it
[00:13:06] when we re-roaded it multiple times and it was a big thing on our mind you know we we wanted to make
[00:13:11] sure we included a lot of our friends but there was a lot of people we left out you know you start
[00:13:15] naming those and you can leave more people like Boland and Aaron Watson you know Django and you know
[00:13:21] those people they did the list goes on on a people we left out uh but it was a lot of fun writing
[00:13:26] and we actually we were writing this in my place in um Nashville and and I was waiting for for
[00:13:33] retakens wrote this with us who's hilarious you know he is so writing down this whole mob here
[00:13:38] he loves this stuff and he came over hanging out and then a few minutes later Randy shows up
[00:13:44] and I I share this condo with Josh Abbott and Drew Candy and Josh was actually at the place too
[00:13:51] uh but he was like back in the back like getting dressed to leave uh for the day so redhead
[00:13:56] seeing him yet so I said Randy runs and comes in the front door and red's like hey wait let's
[00:14:00] you know we're good and now I'll sudden Josh Abbott comes out the side group he's like how many
[00:14:05] you texted some bitches are in here you know it just kept going he's like that's what we should
[00:14:09] write your top card thing where the what you pouring out of it and Randy had a cool idea you
[00:14:15] know like something it was a round it was something along these lines of I don't think it was exactly
[00:14:19] we ain't the only ones but it was something like that and and red just man that's exactly what
[00:14:24] you're right about is like you know all my ratti friends kind of thing and uh if we just took it
[00:14:30] in ramm it was a no-brainer so much fun to write the song and and sing it every night you know this
[00:14:35] last week was our first time to sing it live and it really was really was fun to like mention
[00:14:40] all of our buddies it's kind of like this it's a nod to them all but it's also this pride thing man
[00:14:44] we got a lot of yeah we're gonna do you have a lot of good friends no I was gonna you made me think
[00:14:48] of the I don't know if both you were there just one or when I don't even really understand the
[00:14:52] the whole thing but the case he don't know who obo mexico thing like where he just let's
[00:14:58] bunch you guys down there and you guys should have a great time of play music yeah it's um
[00:15:04] what are those like because those seem like they're an absolute shitshow in the best way possible
[00:15:08] from like some of the stuff we've heard and see wait wait i love kabel what's that yeah wait
[00:15:15] it has his own fan page there he's the mascot of all event wait actually wait actually turns
[00:15:22] into this guy named paul after about 14 beers and uh and the uh people go people like
[00:15:29] on this trip they love wait more than anybody else and so you know no they don't look they don't
[00:15:34] they don't look way they look paul they love paul so wait wait paul bowing is the uh definitely
[00:15:39] the mascot of the trip i usually take my life and we kind of go to dinner and hide mara better
[00:15:47] and move hey hey i'm a man of the people baby i'm a man of the people it's such a awesome place like
[00:15:53] i can't wait to go back um you guys do it often with him it's like every year right he does it
[00:15:59] yeah first it was one week and then uh last year he expanded to two weeks and this summer he's
[00:16:06] it's not all in a row but this summer he's doing three different weeks and uh that's awesome
[00:16:11] Randy went week one i don't think any of us went week two and then um i'm going week three
[00:16:16] it's those randy so that's yeah it's it's a wild time and it's but it's actually really cool too
[00:16:21] he sold out he rents out the whole resort so you're talking about i don't know four or five
[00:16:25] hundred people um every night there's a show on the beach um real you know actually kind of calm
[00:16:31] and intimate and pretty badass if you're if you're there you know it's i guess that's why it's become
[00:16:36] kind of a coveted ticket they sell out before they've been mentioned who's gonna be there and
[00:16:40] it's it really is a chance to i mean every all the artists hang in the pool all day long and
[00:16:46] then go eat restaurants and then go play the shows it's a lot fun they do a good job kacy mlamda
[00:16:51] do a really good job yeah i noticed uh this we're going next week and i was hoping that way
[00:16:56] now we get to play together no i'm playing with randy house i have to go seeing after randy
[00:17:01] house are seeing so yeah i think god i like that he i like the randy's going down there because
[00:17:09] i i didn't my head as some of the photos i've seen it seems like it's a it's that tight knit
[00:17:12] textus group but we've always loved randy and his music very underrated voice right just in
[00:17:18] the best the best yeah that magnolia record to me is still one of super thunder i never got the love
[00:17:25] it deserved yeah um you uh wait yeah wait you mentioned um Nashville in the place you have um we had
[00:17:35] a fan question just this every time we have it's xixis peep uh artist on it's always a question
[00:17:41] fan send and it's just like how do you view the whole like Nashville or like verse um xixis thing do
[00:17:49] you even view it that way because i there tends to be some like differing opinions on like when
[00:17:54] Nashville is this but Nashville's so like such a wide variety of types of music um so how do you
[00:18:03] kind of the whole thing like the not the competition but yeah i think that i think that everybody's always
[00:18:10] tried to bait especially randy and i end of that question you know like it's like we have to
[00:18:15] make a decision about that one to draw yeah they want us to draw a line in the sand and i've just
[00:18:20] never i've refused to do it i've always told everybody like i'm as proud of texan as anyone there is
[00:18:25] in the world but i'm i'm i'm an artist from texas and i'm proud to say that and and i don't want to
[00:18:30] just limit myself to just being a texas artist because we play all over the world so i think it's important
[00:18:35] for people to understand that and it's important for people in texas to understand how
[00:18:39] our pride is as big as it's ever been you know um i mean look at the we ain't the only ones we made
[00:18:44] that's all you know a lot of our texas buddies but but then i think our careers have you know tried to
[00:18:49] go beyond that i mean randy and i've both been on major labels we tried to i'm not saying it worked
[00:18:54] that we tried you know and i have a lot of respect for people in music in general i mean i
[00:18:59] love all genres for the most part randy loves more hip hop than i do probably but
[00:19:04] um i i really i really i don't like that question i don't like drawing the line of the sand i
[00:19:09] i think it's i don't think it's fair to either side i think i think i mean i have a place in
[00:19:14] natural because all my business is out of there randy as a place as well almost every single one of
[00:19:19] my friends that i that that i know that are in the business they all go there to pick from the best
[00:19:24] you know there's just some of the best songers and best players and in Nashville just hanging out
[00:19:29] you know one one to be a part of our careers and so why why alienate that you know let we need to
[00:19:34] you know i've always welcomed it with huge wide open arms and i hope i continue to do so and i've
[00:19:40] actually tapped into it more the last few years and i ever have and i think that's why i'm
[00:19:44] making the best music i've ever made yeah i mean out the only thing that i would add to that
[00:19:49] and i'm a man a few words is there shitty music everywhere right
[00:19:52] yeah
[00:19:56] hey oh man and all you can pick on you can pick on you can pick on
[00:20:01] i'm not gonna say that you can pick on Nashville you can pick on Texas you can pick on Georgia you
[00:20:05] can pick on you know and you could list all the different genres and from all those states right
[00:20:10] so um it's just something there was there was something that was invented by some journalist
[00:20:15] back in the 70s when they started when will he moved to Austin right i mean this this has been
[00:20:20] going on Texas versus Nashville for a long long long long long long long long time yeah music is one
[00:20:26] thing for me it's like if you start talking about like well like growth in the explosion of Nashville
[00:20:31] and then you if you want to that's like a whole other conversation so when it comes to the music
[00:20:35] it's like we've seen it plenty of times as well so i think with other just as folks too it's like
[00:20:39] they're like yeah we got a place there we go down once a month or whatever so we were we were
[00:20:44] down they're not that long ago too and quite a quite a few cocktails um you know
[00:20:49] it was it was it wasn't wild since we'd been there like the restaurants so it was like we're big
[00:20:52] into like food and stuff so yeah every great spot to eat i would love to see the you know the number
[00:20:58] right now of artists that are topping the mainstream country charts that are either from Texas
[00:21:03] or Oklahoma oh it's always been i mean it's been peri tobi and garth we did a we did a blog about
[00:21:13] that a long time ago west where it was like state by state which artists have like charting songs
[00:21:18] and then he said oh george to this or you know whatever it's like pretty surprising um how do
[00:21:22] you see west is you have another fan question that was worth yeah we saw the uh this wasn't a
[00:21:28] fan question was my own question um so congress getting into some alien talk okay
[00:21:34] schmere may not be alien life among us i imagine driving all over the state of Texas
[00:21:40] for the past 15 20 years like you guys have been doing
[00:21:45] he have you seen some shit like i imagine you've seen something where do you guys fall on this
[00:21:50] yeah your name aliens man i actually asked um when i met president bush i asked
[00:21:59] i asked him who killed Kennedy and i asked him if there were aliens and he'd laughed at me
[00:22:04] so that's a clip going on uh socially right there so i don't think anybody knows either the answer
[00:22:12] to either question um my uh my driver and new bramples though that um takes me to the airport
[00:22:18] and stuff he uh he's a big believer and uh i bought him for christmas a million dollar insurance
[00:22:24] alien abduction insurance plan the little coin that i got so that's a nice man this is such a great
[00:22:30] answer i don't even have a response after all that that's just perfect let's funny it's like
[00:22:35] it's been in the new like from like uh okay like 10 years ago whatever yeah i saw a UFO and then
[00:22:42] rogan started having some guys on that seemed super believable that claim all these things and then he
[00:22:47] had a pilot on recently that was from the um military and then then it's in congress you're like
[00:22:52] well why aren't we more excited about this like this seems kind of cool because all the other
[00:22:56] noises happening and everybody's focused on the bullshit instead of like full stuff it's like
[00:23:00] they're just looking at us and saying we're out well come in we checked yeah this ain't working
[00:23:06] we also had bowling on right when his uh last album came out all right was a whole alien abduction
[00:23:12] concept i was like i love this dude like get on this yeah yeah i won't say that you know
[00:23:19] very cool yeah fortunate one of my neighbors here he walked on the moon charlie duke um a
[00:23:25] Apollo 16 and um robert alkeen and i wrote this song about him charlie duke took country music to
[00:23:30] the moon um that was on our tracker brothers record but uh kernel duke would come over for coffee
[00:23:34] quite often here at my house in the mornings and i did ask him as well of course what he his thoughts
[00:23:39] on it were you know he was a test pilot and flew all kinds of experimental aircraft and obviously
[00:23:46] walked on the moon and he said that he had never seen anything that would indicate that there would
[00:23:52] be any truth to a UFO or an alien life form so you gotta trust an astronaut yeah i people when uh
[00:24:01] when Elon Musk went on Rogan it was like the most everybody got like damn it like
[00:24:06] must as like i shoot rockets into space i do all these things we're doing all this he's like i haven't
[00:24:10] seen anything and then you could just feel like damn it everybody wants and wants it to be true but
[00:24:15] we'll see the time for getting crazy i think we're gonna i don't think we're gonna want to
[00:24:19] mate them if they're real right so i heard some theory that kind of makes sense because you're
[00:24:23] all about all this food stuff like on the road like people like need help we need help with like
[00:24:27] other versions of food and then they come in like this is where you can make food a different way
[00:24:31] and just like grow food whatever and i was like one with on a rabbit hole after an edible and i was
[00:24:35] just like this is kind of interesting uh that isn't quite a rabbit hole man yeah you're right
[00:24:42] oh i mean the rabbit hole about the trees trees being aliens that that's a weird one too but you
[00:24:48] start listening to people talking about that you're just like you start walking around trees in the woods
[00:24:52] and you're like like okay but uh enough with the aliens um that edible have a little green man
[00:25:00] man i don't know trying all different kinds out here in car i know oh right uh back to the hold
[00:25:08] your beard talking about there's some drinking there's some a little more intimate songs in there
[00:25:11] or where there's some obviously like fun drinking songs um so obviously fans have some questions
[00:25:16] to like what is here if you have to pick one go to drink and then what is also your hangover cure
[00:25:21] these days um i just turned 35 so like try to avoid the hangover even though i'm drinking you kind of
[00:25:25] try to taper off at the end of the night take the right vitamins whatever but um with the go to
[00:25:31] drink and what's kind of the hangover cure if you kind of overdid and stayed up too late uh i don't
[00:25:35] know that the hangover heard more than they used to you know that's the true statement so
[00:25:42] i don't know if i really the hangover cure really um except for hair the dog that's really mine
[00:25:47] yes i agree that that's it not only the only way i mean on the road that's that's unfortunate the uh
[00:25:52] the unfortunate cycle that i get myself into i have too much fun and then have to have too much
[00:25:57] fun again you know it's a vicious vicious cycle but um my go to drink is uh you know i love
[00:26:04] i love a goodbye catopoed and lime and then um with a few uh tequila shots throughout the night
[00:26:11] that's that's my kind of happy happy mix yeah i would have to say you know um playing the
[00:26:18] that i launched a whiskey called bonbrecker hippivisome whiskey oh we gotta try that
[00:26:23] yeah slow with the blend i'll send you some uh yeah go to on that and then uh i'll just chase
[00:26:30] wave whatever he's drinking you know that's i usually start drinking a little bit before way though
[00:26:34] so his hair the dog it starts about five p.m because he sleeps till two p.m so you know
[00:26:40] not quite as bad not quite as bad as i used to be man we know actually i really do love uh
[00:26:45] shine or light shine or blonde i mean i really do oh yeah i don't drink a whole lot of beer on the road
[00:26:51] because it just starts to wake and you start counting you know 20 beers a night it weighs on you but
[00:26:57] i do love a shine or blonde like it is it's a good beer yeah the beer the the overdrinking of
[00:27:04] the beers that you get a little older you start getting that little tire the lower abdomen
[00:27:08] like oh where did this come from it's fun oh maybe a little more uh ranch waters mixed in that you know
[00:27:14] you got all kinds of things come on stage and you want to five thousand people and realize
[00:27:19] yeah i also thought about that too because even on the podcast sometimes it's you're drinking a beer
[00:27:23] and then like urge to burp and i'm like artist like drink beer maybe before the show i'm like
[00:27:28] that's gotta be an issue right you gotta think about what you're putting your body when you're
[00:27:32] about to start singing or no are you saying like no that it's not me not all of us
[00:27:37] my life makes fun of me because i eat like an old man right i eat like at five o'clock six o'clock so
[00:27:42] by that time i get on stage you know we're good to go everything settles on it and let's
[00:27:48] and let's be honest man i mean if we're gonna have a uh you know how to take care of your voice and
[00:27:53] be your most prepared on stage randy and waiter probably not your best conversation piece there
[00:28:00] probably better to start that with somebody that actually actually you know does is a little bit
[00:28:05] tea and all that good shit i want you so stupid because i've been through the voice stuff you know
[00:28:09] and uh surgery and all that but it's like i mean i take pretty decent care of it but overall
[00:28:15] you can probably have that conversation with somebody more productive yeah you have a
[00:28:21] a pre-show routine like kind of what's the what's the order of operations there man i really don't
[00:28:27] uh like i try not to have a drink until at least an hour before use it's around 30 minutes 45
[00:28:33] minutes before um and then i i have a shot before i walk on every night um after after say a quick
[00:28:40] prayer with the band and the crew guys that are around and then we have a shot and then and then go
[00:28:45] on stage and i usually try to do you know my my kind of routine is a couple of drinks and a couple of
[00:28:51] shots and then and then the after party whatever happens there as long as Paul doesn't show up on fine
[00:28:57] yeah you know i get out and about like i as soon as i get to town i get off the bus one of
[00:29:04] the things i love about my job is i get to explore all these different cities and i can tell you where
[00:29:09] to eat lunch in Chicago i can tell you where to eat lunch at San Francisco where would you say about
[00:29:13] Chicago yeah we both were there for birching or so years before we moved uh yeah um uh peak quads right
[00:29:22] yeah that is a great pizza yeah there's the pizza to be with the deep dish and the
[00:29:28] peak quads is on some people yes my routine is usually like see the town maybe taste some local beers
[00:29:34] or you know craft beers or go to a brewery or whatnot usually the bartenders know where to go right
[00:29:39] so you just go right to the first place you go and say hey you know where's the fancy dinner spot
[00:29:44] where's this where's that and uh i have to get an app in these days so i usually sleep to about
[00:29:51] two hours before showtime so and then get going and you know back in the day i mean i'm sure
[00:29:56] Wake can tell you about his problems that he had with his voice but you know everybody goes to
[00:30:01] issues with their voice and so i try to warm up now it's very awkward for people when they come
[00:30:05] to our bus before the show because i'm back there in the back going do it all these crazy vocal
[00:30:13] warmups and i'm sure that i'll annoy half the band and every all you know all their family members
[00:30:18] that come up so you know and i actually try to warm up now which i really hadn't started that except
[00:30:23] the last five or ten year uh last question before we let you go really appreciate it guys always fun
[00:30:28] catching up uh individually kind of like what do you got going on the rest of the year as we kind of
[00:30:33] yard to half waypoint of 2023 here boring music whatever yeah i mean we we've sorry way but we got
[00:30:42] we got another round of shows another round of whole my beer and watch the shows uh that we're
[00:30:46] going to finish out the year on um and you know my band we we put that album out at the end of
[00:30:52] last year so we're kind of just wrapping up that tour and i'm moving on in to next year uh where we
[00:30:58] were uh this is going to be the 20-year anniversary of uh the record rota coaster that we put out and so
[00:31:05] we're working on something really neat and special for that 20-year reunion um along with some
[00:31:10] new tracks and stuff um to go along with that so um does that mean i get some of that mailbox money
[00:31:17] up that first song we wrote together uh laid on the you right woo woo go over the money man
[00:31:23] get that 20-year anniversary going yeah so that's what our band's got going on and i just want to say
[00:31:29] i had such a great time playing these shows with Wade it's always fun but having new material and
[00:31:35] having a new show we've changed our show where we start like acoustic and then we kind of add players
[00:31:41] in all the sudden we're full band at the end of it and we've got like red our wings a little bit so
[00:31:46] uh it's a great show and thank you Wade it's been fun buddy yeah yeah i got i think we uh
[00:31:52] been in so much focus on volume three and um i've got new music coming out before the end of the
[00:31:57] year i've got some new stuff in september um that i'll be you know thrown out there and then um and
[00:32:03] then i'm already starting a new record in november um hopefully have something new um first part
[00:32:08] of next year and then we have all my bare body four coming out next summer as well so lots of new
[00:32:15] music with us and uh i keep telling everybody man i'm you know where i'm happier than i've ever been
[00:32:21] musically uh working harder than i ever have and so i'm just constantly just riding and funneling
[00:32:26] music out as much as possible i just don't know any other way to do it right now seems like that's
[00:32:30] the trend so i'm trying to keep up with it but also i'm really having fun i think you feel that
[00:32:35] in the whole my beer album that we just released something you feel it in the you know the shows
[00:32:39] that we're doing right now and the shows that we're both doing on our own i mean i i feel like
[00:32:43] ranting his band all band individually we're all just really having fun you know skate it's
[00:32:48] it's a blast right now and i think it's it's as good as it's ever been and that feels really good
[00:32:53] to say this this far into our careers especially with the whole my beer stuff it's it's so much fun
[00:32:58] this show is just i just can't imagine going to the show and not as much fun as i have i hope people
[00:33:04] have as much fun as we do because we just it's just such a good break from the monotony of our
[00:33:09] schedules and our routines every day and to get to hang out so it's like early these tour this
[00:33:14] tour is like uh i'll tell somebody the other day it's like uh it's not going on vacation with your
[00:33:19] drunkest friend you know like that's that's the way the shows are and and that's the way it should be
[00:33:24] you know and i want people to well i mean well you too you're you know i'm your drunkest friend when
[00:33:29] we're on vacation too so that's the way it should be and it feels that way did it just not feel like
[00:33:33] work and that's fun to say yeah i feel like i got from your last record weight a little a vibe of like
[00:33:40] this is really really fun and just kind of like wanting to kind of put that out there like almost
[00:33:46] like a i don't see a new lease on light because it was i don't want to sound like before that was
[00:33:51] that like was anything less than but like it seems like you're just really excited about what you've
[00:33:57] been doing lately i think it's really cool to kind of see that come through the music
[00:34:01] thanks man i'm pretty sure yeah i feel like it is and you know rainy and i produce it carried
[00:34:06] that that carried over into the whole my beer stuff too right rainy and i produced this record we
[00:34:10] wrote every song you know same with volume four coming out next year produced it and wrote every
[00:34:14] song together it's like uh i think that's a sign of guys that are really enjoying themselves and having
[00:34:20] fun and and also not only having fun but really really feel like like we're clicking right now like
[00:34:25] you know the the fact that he and i put together this really i think it is the best show
[00:34:30] home i beer show we've ever done so i mean that's pretty cool to think about how many years we've
[00:34:34] been doing this to feel when we walk off sage it that not only is the Wade Bowen show the best
[00:34:40] i mean i i'm not out with Randy Rogers band every night well and there's but for me the Wade Bowen
[00:34:45] show we're doing right now is i feel is the best show i've ever done and at the whole my beer show
[00:34:49] that we put together is the best home i beer show we've ever done and that carries over into
[00:34:53] the songs and the songs were putting out it just makes everything so much more energy and and happiness
[00:34:58] running throughout and i i just i want people to feel that when we're up there and i think they are
[00:35:03] keep it up fellas we love it we've been listening guys for four years and uh congrats on this one
[00:35:08] we love it and can't wait for the fourth volume but and uh cheers well wasn't i have a couple more
