[00:00:00] This episode of The Blucifer Brothers, we're talking about the Avs' season opener.
[00:00:04] Will the goalie ever save a puck?
[00:00:06] Does he know he's allowed?
[00:00:08] Will the Broncos ever lose a game again?
[00:00:13] All that and more.
[00:00:15] Dan, play that funky music.
[00:00:23] We're here after another Broncos thrilling offensive performance.
[00:00:30] My goodness, Ryan, the sparks were flying and the Broncos, they barely outscored the Vegas Knights
[00:00:39] in the Avs' home opener, but they were able to get to victory.
[00:00:42] I'm Kyle Polen, joined as always by my brother Ryan Polen.
[00:00:45] Ryan, how are you doing this fine week here in Colorado?
[00:00:50] I'm doing great, Kyle.
[00:00:52] That avalanche offense looked like a Nathaniel Hackett well-oiled machine out there.
[00:00:58] They were putting up six points like no big deal.
[00:01:01] So that was exciting to see.
[00:01:04] Unfortunately, they took the L in Vegas, but we're looking forward.
[00:01:11] We're looking forward to a wonderful weekend of football.
[00:01:16] And I know you got some special plans with the family.
[00:01:22] So I'm sure that'll be exciting too.
[00:01:25] It's a lot in the fall.
[00:01:27] Can we just say?
[00:01:29] It's a lot.
[00:01:33] This also, I think it's harder when it's not your kid's first time experiencing something, Ryan,
[00:01:44] to be as excited for how inherently boring it is.
[00:01:50] Like, just walking around and picking a pumpkin is boring.
[00:01:56] Yeah.
[00:01:56] Right?
[00:01:57] Like, it's not fun.
[00:02:00] But the first time you get to see the kid do it and they're, you know,
[00:02:04] you're showing them the different stuff and the little mazes and all that.
[00:02:07] You're like, oh, dang.
[00:02:08] All right, dude.
[00:02:09] This is kind of fun.
[00:02:10] This is kind of cool.
[00:02:11] And then even the last year, because it was like the first time the son was really like
[00:02:17] coordinated enough to do stuff.
[00:02:19] Walking around.
[00:02:20] Like, oh, he's running around.
[00:02:21] He's doing that.
[00:02:21] Oh, wow.
[00:02:22] What a thrilling time.
[00:02:23] This year, I'll just say enthusiasm is at a low point.
[00:02:27] All right?
[00:02:28] Enthusiasm is at a low point.
[00:02:30] Um, do you think there's like nice that it's not elevated activities that he's going to
[00:02:35] be able to do that are like, yeah, there are.
[00:02:38] They do have activities, but like, it's basically a glorified, like crappier playground.
[00:02:45] Ah, but because you're around some places where there's more pictures able to be taken.
[00:02:50] Right.
[00:02:51] Then, you know, you got to pay 40 bucks to get it.
[00:02:55] Yeah, exactly.
[00:02:57] Um, now this one, I do not believe there's a entry fee.
[00:03:01] Uh, we're going.
[00:03:03] That's a super high.
[00:03:04] It's a, and.
[00:03:06] Wait, you said super high or there's no entry fee?
[00:03:10] I, I was going to say no entry fee, but I don't know a hundred percent.
[00:03:15] But I remember that it's more that like, once you're inside any activity that your kid wants
[00:03:21] to do besides buying a pumpkin, you're just going to throw them a little cash for that.
[00:03:27] Yeah.
[00:03:27] Um, which last year was just fine because the kids weren't tall enough or big enough to
[00:03:32] get on anything or care about anything.
[00:03:34] Um, but this, we'll see how Dan and I come out.
[00:03:39] We'll hopefully we're here next week and, and we survived this, but it is on a Saturday.
[00:03:44] So we gotta, we gotta take, they got a train.
[00:03:48] They do have a train, which is the number one worry this year.
[00:03:52] Yeah.
[00:03:52] You're dead on that train dog.
[00:03:54] Be ready to be on that train.
[00:03:56] That's the, that might be the only saving grace from what I've been last year, too little
[00:04:00] for parents to get on.
[00:04:02] So you gotta be able to willing to go.
[00:04:04] Oh, okay.
[00:04:04] So I think it's really going to come down to will all the toddlers want to go and they're
[00:04:11] going to have, they're going to need a courage buddy and accountability buddy on the train
[00:04:15] there.
[00:04:16] Uh, we all need that sometimes.
[00:04:19] Yeah.
[00:04:20] You know what?
[00:04:21] Um, it's going to be okay.
[00:04:23] It's going to be a okay.
[00:04:27] Uh, but let's, you were talking about the avalanche.
[00:04:31] Uh, I wanted to quickly start with them.
[00:04:32] They had their season opener.
[00:04:34] The Knights came to town.
[00:04:36] Uh, God, I really hate the Vegas Knights.
[00:04:39] Um, and so it hurt extra, uh, to just get smacked out at home, especially after,
[00:04:45] uh, it got off to such promising start.
[00:04:48] Uh, you know, you get around and getting a goal early and then Georgie did what Georgie
[00:04:55] does.
[00:04:56] Uh, and what he does better than anyone is let pucks into the net.
[00:05:01] Uh, it was a really bad performance from him and the abs like bad performances happen.
[00:05:11] And I didn't think anything of it until like outside of a, like, oh, that's a bummer that
[00:05:17] he had a crappy game until after the game, there was bed and are saying it felt like any
[00:05:33] time I close my eyes a little bit, there's still pucks going into the net.
[00:05:38] It feels like this team has lost confidence in the goalie.
[00:05:45] And I just worry now with a, with kind of, you know, we don't have sack because the GM
[00:05:54] anymore, it feels like this is where sack it would have just been aggressive and been
[00:05:59] like, I don't care.
[00:06:00] We're good.
[00:06:01] And it's clear none of all these guys don't believe in our goalie.
[00:06:05] We need to go get somebody.
[00:06:06] And I'm not sure that that's going to happen quick enough.
[00:06:10] Cause this feels like it could be a locker room problem where everyone's like, well, yeah,
[00:06:14] I mean, everyone makes mistakes, but this guy makes eight of them a game.
[00:06:19] It's pretty tough to overcome.
[00:06:22] Yeah.
[00:06:22] I think in a hockey locker room to hear those things coming out of it is particularly telling
[00:06:29] cause they're, I mean, these guys are notorious for saying absolutely nothing and just being
[00:06:35] team first, positive, this positive, that like to hear that come out of the locker room
[00:06:40] is a little concerning considering we're one game into the season, but we're also not a
[00:06:46] one game sample size into this from old Georgie.
[00:06:49] Like we've got seasons of watching this be relatively bad.
[00:06:54] So I don't think that, uh, I, I hope that you're wrong.
[00:07:01] Um, but honestly, like, I don't know enough.
[00:07:04] I know we're in like cap hell because we have so many players hurt that are so expensive.
[00:07:11] So it's hard.
[00:07:13] Uh, but I don't know.
[00:07:15] It just feels like at this point it like, I'm not sure it can be salvaged for him here.
[00:07:21] No, like it's one of those situations where you're just like, Hey man, the fan base hates
[00:07:27] this guy.
[00:07:28] Everyone in the locker room hates this guy.
[00:07:30] And whether it's all his fault or whether he's as bad as he looks like it's not going
[00:07:35] to get better with that kind of energy.
[00:07:37] It's a new scene walking into the office every day and everyone's like, Hey Ryan,
[00:07:42] you suck.
[00:07:43] All right, Ryan, I hate you.
[00:07:45] God, I pray every day with my two year old toddler that you're going to leave this company.
[00:07:50] That's what we say every night before I tuck him into his bed and he cries.
[00:07:56] Oh, he cries Ryan.
[00:07:57] Cause you're still at this company.
[00:07:59] All right.
[00:07:59] My toddler is so sad.
[00:08:01] All right.
[00:08:02] Uh, you know, that's a lot to take in and you might not perform your best at the company,
[00:08:07] uh, with that feedback.
[00:08:09] You know, that's not what we call a feedback sandwich there.
[00:08:13] Right.
[00:08:13] It's just a shit sandwich.
[00:08:15] It's a lot of shit you're getting there.
[00:08:17] Yeah.
[00:08:18] And I think George, you might've hit that point.
[00:08:20] Um, unfortunately, he doesn't seem like a bad human in any sort of way.
[00:08:25] He just sucks at stopping hockey pucks right now.
[00:08:28] And, uh, I think he should go somewhere else.
[00:08:31] It's a, it's a classic new scenery.
[00:08:33] Everybody needs it.
[00:08:35] He needs it.
[00:08:35] The team needs it.
[00:08:36] It's best for everybody.
[00:08:38] Uh, I hope they make it happen.
[00:08:41] Yep.
[00:08:42] Um, speaking of new scenery, uh, it happened almost a week ago now, but I do want to quickly
[00:08:51] recap the Broncos victory over the Raiders.
[00:08:56] It looked a little rough.
[00:08:57] Producer Dan was threatening to shut the game off, uh, before Pat's literally right before
[00:09:06] my finger was on the power button.
[00:09:09] I, I was on the antenna.
[00:09:11] I was on the antenna.
[00:09:13] So I knew I was pretty much live and I saw certain pick it off.
[00:09:18] And I looked at my phone and it was day.
[00:09:20] I was getting ready to text you guys excited.
[00:09:23] And Dan says, I'm going to turn this off.
[00:09:25] This deep sucks.
[00:09:26] And I'm watching certain red on the field.
[00:09:29] I'm like, yeah, don't turn it off yet.
[00:09:32] But yeah, it was pretty great.
[00:09:37] Um, I think we talked about it last week.
[00:09:41] Um, this cornerback duo is legit.
[00:09:45] Um, obviously this was the weakest wide receiver core.
[00:09:49] We're going to go against like this was not surprising from them after what we saw.
[00:09:56] We saw them do to Godwin and, um, Mike Evans, like Godwin and Mike Evans are both light years
[00:10:05] better than Myers and whoever their second wide receiver was right.
[00:10:11] Like they were, when we saw them perform against those two, it was good to see them here.
[00:10:19] Um, so I guess we'll start with the good, we'll start with the positive there.
[00:10:25] Um, this defense is right.
[00:10:29] And Moss pretty unreal.
[00:10:32] Uh, first white cornerback to get an interception in 22 years in the NFL.
[00:10:37] It was pretty cool.
[00:10:38] It was pretty cool.
[00:10:39] Patrick Sertain afterwards was amazing talking about it.
[00:10:43] He, he wanted to say it so bad and he finally did.
[00:10:47] He was like, I mean, he's a white guy.
[00:10:49] So like everybody was doubting him.
[00:10:52] Uh, yeah, it was, uh, it was a cool moment.
[00:10:56] Yeah.
[00:10:56] I, uh, I like, uh, Pat Sertain's idea, by the way.
[00:11:03] Uh, he called into the DNVR podcast, uh, and was soliciting nicknames, but I do like his idea of calling on Pulp Fiction.
[00:11:10] Um, I think that's objectively pretty funny.
[00:11:14] Uh, and a pretty good, uh, did Sertain come up with that?
[00:11:19] Yeah.
[00:11:20] Oh God.
[00:11:20] I think someone suggested it to him, but like he, he brought it up to the podcast.
[00:11:24] That man, I, we cannot protect him more.
[00:11:28] Like I realized that even people on this podcast who will remain unnamed, uh, we're floating trading him because this team was going to suck.
[00:11:39] And like, that was a real talking point of like, if this gets bad, we can move off of him and get a shit ton of picks for him because he's awesome.
[00:11:47] Like, no, it was not like a, he's a bad locker room guy.
[00:11:50] It was only that this team is going to be bad enough that we may not need him.
[00:11:55] And it may be generationally bad to the point where we need to offload him in order to get something back.
[00:12:03] And that seems so far away right now.
[00:12:07] Like he is, I mean, he is an absolute island and it's champ Bailey status.
[00:12:13] Like him meeting with champ before that game, them attach it or, uh, exchanging jerseys and then him do getting the six pick pick six with champ on the sideline.
[00:12:26] Like that's an elite moment.
[00:12:29] And I, uh, I hope he like champ Bailey, uh, has a wonderful career in a Broncos uniform and is a number one corner for the next 15 years.
[00:12:40] Like that guy is so fucking good at football.
[00:12:43] It's, uh, it's upsetting.
[00:12:47] Honestly.
[00:12:47] Uh, I told you guys before the podcast, I went and found my certain cards cause I just wanted to look at him again.
[00:12:55] It was also, I think very telling that after Bowers was pretty impactful on those first two drives.
[00:13:03] And we talked about it after that, if it was a third and long, our boy, old Patty.
[00:13:10] And then Riley Sertain said, no problem.
[00:13:12] I'll, uh, all Riley's got Jacoby, uh, and I'll, I'll go get Brock.
[00:13:18] And he's big.
[00:13:20] He's physical.
[00:13:22] There's just not a type of receiver that it seems like he struggles with in any way, shape or form.
[00:13:27] And he's awesome.
[00:13:30] Um, he, he got kind of things about it.
[00:13:33] Somebody was talking to him.
[00:13:35] I can't remember who it was from the Raiders early in the game.
[00:13:40] Uh, I can't remember, but it must've been Myers.
[00:13:44] He caught like kind of a crossing route and he got up and it was like a first down and Sertain was like, all right, man.
[00:13:53] And you know, six plays later or whatever, he's waltzing into the end zone after a hundred yard interception return.
[00:14:00] So he's, he and the defense are extremely fun right now.
[00:14:05] And it's, I talked last week about, I didn't know whether it was repeatable.
[00:14:10] It looks pretty damn repeatable right now.
[00:14:12] Like what they're doing just looks, it doesn't look hard.
[00:14:17] Nothing they're doing looks difficult.
[00:14:20] Um, and that's exciting.
[00:14:22] Uh, the offense is a completely different story.
[00:14:26] Um, yeah, that what they're doing also looks repeatable.
[00:14:30] Uh, in a pretty tough way.
[00:14:34] So similar, similar offense to what you're seeing from, uh, the Broncos.
[00:14:40] Um, yeah, the final note on the defense, I think it hurts my feelings a little bit to say this beat up on a man while he's down.
[00:14:56] We might be better with singleton or injured.
[00:14:59] Don't we look a little faster in the, in the linebacker core?
[00:15:03] Don't they look a little closer with Sternad and them coming down downhill?
[00:15:08] Looks a little better there.
[00:15:09] In my opinion, that's my first thing.
[00:15:12] Didn't feel good saying it, but had to say it.
[00:15:14] Well, the good news is he won't be back this year.
[00:15:17] So no worries there.
[00:15:18] It feels like the Broncos, a lot of teams, it feels like now have those really impactful addressers, you know, Crosby, the Bosa's.
[00:15:29] Um, but it feels like the Broncos are basically just using the middle of the field with Allen and Roach to just be like, these guys are going to ruin your play immediately.
[00:15:41] And so even though we don't have the same kind of pass rushing talent, we're still getting pressure because they're getting singled every time.
[00:15:53] It's a, it's a disciplined edge.
[00:15:55] And then he just let the center attack and you're like, well, sorry.
[00:16:01] You can't rush because the, him and Roach are pushing them three yards into the backfield.
[00:16:06] So like, it's kind of an edge rusher stream where it's kind of weird where you're like, well, we have two really good corners.
[00:16:13] We have unbelievable tackles and everyone else just kind of does their job.
[00:16:20] And it appears to be a pretty good formula right now.
[00:16:24] Um, I'm interested to see it against, um, this is not a great offensive team by any stretch of the imagination with what the chargers have shown thus far, but Herbert is by far the best quarterback.
[00:16:38] They're going to have seen thus far in the season.
[00:16:40] I mean, they've seen Justin Fields, Baker Mayfield, Geno Smith, uh, and the corpse of Aaron Rogers.
[00:16:53] Um, yeah.
[00:16:55] In the rain.
[00:16:56] I mean, they haven't seen anybody, but this is not going to be a team that's going to attack us through the air.
[00:17:03] This is not, they're going to run the ball and yeah.
[00:17:07] Good luck for sure.
[00:17:08] I, I'm just saying, you know, if there's a quarterback who can make some off schedule plays, some stuff.
[00:17:14] No, and he's definitely good, but he doesn't have, he doesn't have weapons.
[00:17:19] Like if we have, if, if Moss and Sertain are healthy and on the field, who's he throwing the ball to?
[00:17:25] Honestly, like I was looking at, I, you know, was looking at it for our best bets of the week, which we'll get into later.
[00:17:33] And I'm looking at these receiving props and you have not seen numbers like this in, it looks like it's a high school game.
[00:17:41] I mean, these guys are like set the highest over under is like 79.
[00:17:47] Like nobody thinks that there's going to be passing yards in this game.
[00:17:50] So it's going to be a battle of the trenches.
[00:17:53] And to your point where, you know, the Broncos middle of the line, they're a home underdog here.
[00:17:59] Like it's a little bit disrespectful to the defense to be catching these points.
[00:18:04] Uh, just because I don't think that the chargers have been explosive and, uh, I don't, Herbert is unbelievable to your point, but I don't think he has the offensive talent to really punish the, the deficiencies of this Broncos defense.
[00:18:20] Like if they had an unbelievable tight end, we'd be in some serious trouble.
[00:18:25] Uh, but they don't.
[00:18:28] So, yeah, it feels like the kind of game where lad McConkie should just record his welcome to the NFL moment, uh, before the game.
[00:18:38] Like he should be like, my God, I was out there and Pat just, he said a word to me the whole game.
[00:18:46] Honestly, he was super nice about it.
[00:18:48] He was like, Hey, good route, young fella, you know, but I don't think I got more than an inch of separation the whole game.
[00:18:54] So I'll pull, I'll pull people behind the curtain a little bit.
[00:18:57] I was trying to find one of these unders to bet in the receiving market because I'm like, yeah, you know, some, either one of these teams, somebody has got to have good value here.
[00:19:09] And lad McConkie is four and a half.
[00:19:12] And I'm like four and a half receptions.
[00:19:13] I'm like, Ooh, under, but then I'm still, I'm looking around.
[00:19:16] I'm like, uh, Josh Palmer is three and a half.
[00:19:22] Like, no, nobody is going to be getting the Paul.
[00:19:26] Uh, he's their number one receiver according to the odds.
[00:19:29] So I'm like, you know, I kind of think that certain probably should be on Josh Palmer to start.
[00:19:37] Uh, just because Palmer is so much bigger.
[00:19:40] Um, and Moss can match up probably pretty well against McConkie.
[00:19:45] So I'm like, well, maybe McConkie is going to get the, so it's hard to bet on these things because we're so good.
[00:19:51] And certain can go and do anything that you're like, I don't know who he's going to shut down.
[00:19:57] I know he's going to shut down somebody and I wish I could predict it.
[00:20:00] And later on, we probably will be, which is a betting thing to look out for in the future is just like, okay, if, if a team has a clear number one wide receiver, just bet they're under.
[00:20:11] Like this guy's fucking unbelievable.
[00:20:14] He doesn't allow anybody to catch the ball, Kyle.
[00:20:16] It's, it's unfair.
[00:20:18] Yeah.
[00:20:18] I was looking at his, when you look at his wide receivers defended, like with Evans and Metcalf, um, pick-ins, like it's not good stats coming out of those guys.
[00:20:32] Uh, Garrett Wilson, um, it's, it's not good at all.
[00:20:36] Um, but I feel like we're already starting to get into this Chargers game.
[00:20:39] So let's just fully get into it.
[00:20:41] Uh, to me, when I look at this game, Ryan, I think of the Spider-Man meme.
[00:20:46] Um, when I look at these offenses, cause it's going to be a lot of dumping off to running backs, a lot of conservative play calling.
[00:20:56] Don't mess it up.
[00:20:57] Let's play disciplined.
[00:20:59] Let's field position battle.
[00:21:01] I mean, there's a reason this over under is set at 35 and a half.
[00:21:06] Like they can't set this thing low enough, uh, here.
[00:21:13] So do you see any way that either one of these teams comes out of their shell?
[00:21:19] Obviously the Chargers are coming off of a buy, but you still have the Herbert ankle issues.
[00:21:24] And for all of the hoopla about what turned into kind of a laugher, I thought Nix was pretty bad quietly in the Raiders game.
[00:21:39] I thought there was just like, like, it was a lot of just throw it short dump offs, missing guys.
[00:21:49] Um, not, you know, abandoning stuff.
[00:21:54] Um, I think honestly he gets the pass only because only because Crosby was being mean to him.
[00:22:01] Uh, I said to the club and Crosby was bullying him and nobody can be expected to work in those sort of conditions.
[00:22:09] So I really think for everybody, you know, watching this and listening in, um, you know, imagine being bullied at your workplace.
[00:22:19] Like you probably wouldn't perform your best either.
[00:22:23] So I, I think this, this is the one time where I'm willing to give him a little bit of a, a rookie pass here.
[00:22:29] You know, you can't, you can't get punked like that in your second, third year, but the first time that Max Crosby is yelling at you, speak up, oh, they can't hear you.
[00:22:40] They don't understand you.
[00:22:42] Uh, I think you'd get a pass.
[00:22:45] Uh, also Harbaugh famously in a, uh, stop the hate, uh, commercial.
[00:22:51] So there won't be any trash talking from the chargers players.
[00:22:54] Just going to be a good clean game out there.
[00:22:56] Uh, so that'll be good.
[00:22:58] Um, so are we both on the same page that this is going to be a hideous game?
[00:23:07] It's going to be bad.
[00:23:09] I mean, like I'm going to watch every second of 14, 13 or like 13, 10.
[00:23:15] Like it, it feels gross, gross, gross to me.
[00:23:19] This, we talk about this sometimes here, uh, before March madness, but it is a rule during March madness that often when you see a total that's like, why is it so low?
[00:23:32] It's because they can't make it low enough.
[00:23:34] Like they would love this.
[00:23:36] If Vegas was setting this number, I'm not sure that you could convince me it wouldn't be 28 and a half, but because that's such a ridiculous NFL total, they can get even money on 35.
[00:23:48] So like, but I think this is a dead nuts under and the only way it goes over our turnovers and defensive touchdowns.
[00:23:56] Like Patrick Sertain could have two pick sixes.
[00:24:01] This game might go over, but I just can't see either of these offenses.
[00:24:05] I mean, you look at every market in the prop, like just look at, look at the total and then look at any time touchdown scorer.
[00:24:16] There isn't a negative odds on the board.
[00:24:20] The best odds are JK Dobbins at plus 120.
[00:24:25] Javante Williams is plus 200 to score a touchdown.
[00:24:29] They're basically saying, we don't think anybody's going to score a touchdown and win.
[00:24:34] And if they do, we have no idea who it's going to be.
[00:24:38] So I think this is just an under that is screaming to be bad.
[00:24:45] So couldn't agree more.
[00:24:47] Okay.
[00:24:48] So now we've laid it out.
[00:24:50] It's going to be hideous.
[00:24:51] Um, it's going to be close.
[00:24:53] It's going to be a lot of punting, a lot of all that.
[00:24:59] Who do you see coming out on top here?
[00:25:02] This is a game that started two and a half.
[00:25:05] It's gone all the way up to three, which means that betters think that the chargers are five points better than the Broncos, which haven't necessarily shown.
[00:25:17] Um, obviously they get a chance to be healthier, but on their injury report, they have no Gus Edwards, no Asante Samuel.
[00:25:27] Um, and then Bosa's questionable, uh, as well as Rashawn Slater might not be a hundred percent there.
[00:25:35] He's got the pectoral issue and he's obviously their stud tackle.
[00:25:42] So they've got injury concerns.
[00:25:44] The Broncos have injury concerns.
[00:25:46] Uh, they're going to be down to our third string tackle opposite Garrett Bowles.
[00:25:51] Uh, so I pray to God Bosa doesn't play cause, uh, our tackles are going to be struggling a bit out there.
[00:26:01] But to me, it just feels like who can establish a run game here a little bit to try to make it so that the like dink and dunk stuff gets you first downs.
[00:26:13] Right.
[00:26:13] Cause it's like, okay, you rushed for four yards on first down.
[00:26:17] Now, when you do the little three yard play, it's third and two, right?
[00:26:23] Versus you get stuffed for one yard.
[00:26:25] You get, and then, you know, you're dink and dunk and it's third and six.
[00:26:30] I think six and yards and longer are death versus these defenses.
[00:26:34] I think it's going to be bad, bad, bad.
[00:26:36] If you get in those spots a lot, what do you see here?
[00:26:41] Three points feels like a lot to me, but also this tackle situation and a new center has me nervous for the Broncos.
[00:26:49] Yeah.
[00:26:50] I mean, the injuries are definitely a concern.
[00:26:53] I honestly just don't think that this Chargers team is very good.
[00:26:57] Um, so my gut and I think this is a live play, but I would lean Broncos money line here.
[00:27:08] Um, I don't, I, yeah, I just think that our defense is too good.
[00:27:16] And this Chargers team has shown basically nothing to say that they're going to be able to take advantage of their defenses and been very good.
[00:27:29] Um, they've been fine.
[00:27:30] I mean, they'll get pressure, but we just went against Max Crosby.
[00:27:34] Like it's the same game plan.
[00:27:36] So I just think we can muck this up and they know how to win that type of game.
[00:27:41] I'm probably going to stay away from this.
[00:27:43] I do think I'm going to bet this under.
[00:27:45] Um, and I might honestly take an alternate under.
[00:27:49] I'm, I was just trying to find it for potentially switching one of my best bets to just a crazy alternate under like do 13 and a half or something.
[00:27:59] I think this could be like an all time ugly game.
[00:28:02] Um, so I honestly think there could be, yeah, I don't know.
[00:28:08] It'll, it'll be a, it'll be an interesting test of Harbaugh's intelligence too, in terms of like coaching matchup.
[00:28:16] Like, I think we both are on the same page that we don't really trust Sean Payton.
[00:28:21] Um, but if he can at least scheme up something to get, you know, this chargers offense slowed down and the defense, uh, tuned up a little bit, you're like, okay, he's now winning with stuff that.
[00:28:38] Like nobody thought this Broncos team was going to be good, right?
[00:28:41] They're over under was five and a half at the beginning of the year.
[00:28:44] So you do have to start giving some credit to the people around, uh, a rookie quarterback and a defense that wasn't projected to be very good.
[00:28:53] And I think that for the defense Vance Joseph deserves the lion's share of that credit.
[00:28:59] Um, but for Bo Nix development, I think Sean hasn't stunted that yet, which is something that everybody should be proud of.
[00:29:07] Yeah, no.
[00:29:08] Um, it was, it, yeah, it's been, it's been an up and down year.
[00:29:16] I, I think I'm going to say it's down.
[00:29:19] Um, I, I think the buy and I think when it comes down to it for me, you go, all right, this is going to be a one possession field goal game.
[00:29:33] Who do you trust?
[00:29:35] Do you trust Herbert or Bo Nix?
[00:29:38] I'm going to take Herbert to get that thing done.
[00:29:40] Right.
[00:29:41] Um, I agree with you.
[00:29:42] This isn't one of my plays, um, or something that I'd bet before the game.
[00:29:47] Um, I agree with you.
[00:29:49] I think I like the under more than anything in this game, but I am going to take, uh, the chargers here.
[00:29:56] Um, I'm going to take them 13, six.
[00:30:00] Six.
[00:30:02] Yeah.
[00:30:03] I'll do, I didn't give a score there.
[00:30:05] I'll do 14, 10 Broncos.
[00:30:09] Yeah.
[00:30:09] Oh, if a team gets in the end zone twice, Ryan.
[00:30:12] Oh, it's, oh, I think it's a defensive touchdown.
[00:30:15] It could be too.
[00:30:16] I'm taking 13 for two, two touchdowns.
[00:30:19] I'll see how they get in there.
[00:30:20] I'll see how they get in there.
[00:30:21] Special teams, whatever.
[00:30:23] Carried by angels.
[00:30:24] However, it happens, baby.
[00:30:27] I'm angels that empower.
[00:30:28] I'm with it.
[00:30:30] But, uh, yeah, you turning, turning points into touchdowns is key, which is another reason.
[00:30:37] I'm a little skeptical of this Broncos team too, just cause the red zone struggles have been so pronounced with Knicks.
[00:30:44] I'm not going to do this as a best bet, but I will throw it out there under 27 and a half is plus two 76.
[00:30:58] That's that is, that is really tasty.
[00:31:01] I mean, very, very, very tasty.
[00:31:05] Yeah.
[00:31:05] It's not bad at all.
[00:31:07] Especially like really what that's 14.
[00:31:10] 13 touchdowns.
[00:31:11] It's like you said, it's like the strip sack or something like that, that just you're like, oh, he's housing that cheese.
[00:31:19] Like, um, but other than that, I mean, these are two teams that are going to play slow.
[00:31:26] They're going to run.
[00:31:27] They don't get a lot of explosive plays to Ryan's point.
[00:31:30] The chargers wide receiver group, lad McConkey has been the most explosive player.
[00:31:36] And even him, it's not like he's running away from guys.
[00:31:39] He's just happened to, you know, have some, uh, place where he got in behind the defense or something.
[00:31:45] He looks good for a rookie, but he's a rookie wide receiver that you're counting on for being your best guy.
[00:31:53] So, no, no, no, no.
[00:31:55] Uh, like I said, I think there's going to be, even if these teams are moving the ball against each other, it's going to require a lot of first downs to do it.
[00:32:04] Um, and then I trust these defenses to stall them out.
[00:32:08] Um, this is a, a test for this Broncos defense.
[00:32:14] As far as like Harbaugh is instilling a physical brand of football.
[00:32:20] And like, this offense is going to try to come out and they're not going to be cute.
[00:32:26] They're not going to be creative.
[00:32:28] There aren't going to be any of that.
[00:32:29] They're going to be, we are running right at you.
[00:32:33] And we're, if you don't stop it, we're never going to stop handing the ball off.
[00:32:37] Like that's a concern I have as well is getting swallowed up.
[00:32:44] But obviously Allen and Roach, like we talked about, they've been so good in the middle.
[00:32:48] You got to hope that they can continue that.
[00:32:51] Um, all right.
[00:32:53] Speaking of best bets, let's get into it.
[00:32:55] Uh, we both made money last week.
[00:32:57] Ryan made more than I, uh, because, uh, this defense that after the first two weeks was like,
[00:33:04] like everyone's talking about the, what the best defense of the NFL.
[00:33:09] Uh, they couldn't stop Dak Prescott, uh, at home.
[00:33:13] That was infuriating.
[00:33:15] And then, uh, the saints just when I'm like, when I saw that end zone, big man pick and he's rumbling out, I was like,
[00:33:27] Oh, we're headed to a backdoor cover, baby.
[00:33:29] This team is trash, but I can tell they're about to get me home.
[00:33:33] Um, no, just, I swear to God, when I get the idea in my head to bet against Patrick Mahomes, it just activates something inside of him.
[00:33:43] Like that man, he doesn't play for the love of the game.
[00:33:47] He doesn't play for super bowls.
[00:33:50] He just plays to fuck me over in this contest.
[00:33:54] That's the only reason Patrick Mahomes is still doing it.
[00:33:57] It, and it's infuriating, honestly.
[00:34:02] Um, but I am a Broncos fan.
[00:34:04] So I'm not going to pick this week.
[00:34:06] I don't want him to win again.
[00:34:07] So, um, but Ryan is in the lead here.
[00:34:11] Uh, you had a two in one week last week.
[00:34:14] Um, a great, great week for you.
[00:34:16] And honestly, you kind of got hosed on the one that you missed.
[00:34:19] It was like a Raiders garbage time touchdown where you could tell the Broncos defense was like, sure, whatever, dude.
[00:34:25] It was like when they handed off to the team, the guy who's been a team manager for like 12 years.
[00:34:32] Yeah.
[00:34:33] And they're like, let him score a touchdown.
[00:34:34] It's senior night.
[00:34:36] That's how the Raiders last touchdown was that hosed you.
[00:34:39] Um, so I did feel bad for you on that one as well.
[00:34:42] But I felt like we were, we were starting to get a little dialed in last week.
[00:34:47] I felt the same way.
[00:34:50] I felt the same way and I kind of feel the same way this week.
[00:34:54] I don't know.
[00:34:54] We haven't discussed our picks yet.
[00:34:56] So I'm excited to see what you got.
[00:34:57] You should go first.
[00:34:58] I'm excited.
[00:34:59] Okay.
[00:35:00] Uh, I am going to start off with a tasty bit.
[00:35:09] I of course got a plus one 62 to hit last week, uh, with the Broncos more than a touchdown.
[00:35:16] Um, I, or a touchdown.
[00:35:19] I think I took them six and a half.
[00:35:21] Uh, but I'm going back to the plus.
[00:35:25] Well, but this time I've got a same game parlay.
[00:35:27] I, I do not think that Bo Nix is, I don't know if there's going to be a game this season
[00:35:37] against a competent defense in which Bo Nix has over four completions to a wide receiver.
[00:35:44] Um, so like you, I was dialed in on the wide receiver markets.
[00:35:50] Uh, so I'm taking under four and a half receptions for Sutton.
[00:35:54] It feels like even when Sutton's been open across the middle, him and Nix just aren't on the same page as far as like ball placement and all of that.
[00:36:02] And so even some like easy ones, Nix has missed him on.
[00:36:08] And obviously he's the number one threat.
[00:36:10] So teams are really focusing in on him.
[00:36:13] I'm going to take Javante over two and a half receptions.
[00:36:16] We have seen so many dump offs here.
[00:36:20] Check down, check down Charlie.
[00:36:22] Have a healthy running back room.
[00:36:24] You're not getting those like you're, you're starting to see Javante take more and more of the downs.
[00:36:29] And so he's just going to get, uh, three receptions.
[00:36:37] Sutton's getting less than five receptions and we're going to be a plus one 56 for that.
[00:36:43] And that'll take us home there.
[00:36:45] I don't care about the yardage.
[00:36:47] I don't care about any of it.
[00:36:48] Sutton can have one big play.
[00:36:50] Um, cause like you said, I am scared of that.
[00:36:52] Like all it takes is one slip.
[00:36:54] I think Sutton's like you mentioned is like 47 or something like that.
[00:36:58] They're all super low.
[00:37:00] Like, so, you know, like I didn't want to mess with the receiving yards, but receptions, I feel like that's game plan.
[00:37:06] That's that.
[00:37:08] And at this point, Peyton has shown us who he is.
[00:37:11] He is going to do tight ends, running backs and sprinkle in some wide receivers, especially with this group.
[00:37:20] Yeah.
[00:37:21] I think, I think you're barking up the right tree there.
[00:37:24] I like that pick.
[00:37:25] Uh, and I, you know, I love the same game parlay and you know, I love something that's correlated in the same game parlay.
[00:37:32] Like I'm fading this receiver and I'm giving those targets to this person.
[00:37:37] I love that sort of logic with it.
[00:37:39] So I might tell that in real life.
[00:37:43] Um, my first one, I'm going to go sort of the opposite of you.
[00:37:47] It's my least valuable play on the board, but I think it's sort of free money.
[00:37:52] So I'm just going to take it.
[00:37:53] Uh, when you see a dollar, sometimes you just have to pick up a dollar, you know?
[00:37:57] So, uh, it's minus one 30, uh, but it is Patrick's retain tackles and assists over three and a half.
[00:38:07] Uh, he just gets this.
[00:38:09] Like, I think they're going to run a lot and he's going to know they're running a lot and he's going to go in and get an assist on a tackle with the running back.
[00:38:17] And like, I think this number, he just gets to very easily.
[00:38:22] Um, it's minus one 30 for a reason, right?
[00:38:24] So you're, you're taking out some of the value, but, um, I anticipate him being all over this game.
[00:38:31] Um, even if they're not throwing it in his direction.
[00:38:35] It also feels like I like this one.
[00:38:38] It also feels like sometimes if it's like one of those third and twenties or, you know, just third and really long, it feels like sometimes once certain sees, like he'll play it.
[00:38:51] So that he'll play off enough to be like, if you cut in for seven yards, that's fine.
[00:38:56] I'm going to let you catch it.
[00:38:57] Yes.
[00:38:57] And then I'm going to come through and I know I'm going to tackle.
[00:39:00] He's going to get one tackle on a target.
[00:39:02] I'm going to let this quarterback dump it there and we're not going to get burned anywhere else.
[00:39:07] Boom, boom, boom.
[00:39:08] Like, you know, my guy's open here.
[00:39:11] And then he just comes up and is very sure.
[00:39:13] So it feels like you get like one of those a game.
[00:39:16] And then to your point, you get him coming in the running game.
[00:39:20] And he's such a big cornerback that he's not afraid to get in there and tackle with some outside stretch stuff.
[00:39:25] Some watch some screens, you know, in zone.
[00:39:28] In zone when somebody else messes up and he needs to go run 30 yards and tackle the guy.
[00:39:36] Like, I just think he's going to get tackles.
[00:39:39] Yeah.
[00:39:39] I like it.
[00:39:40] And I like riding the Patty Sertain thing.
[00:39:45] And I also think to your point, I think this is a prop to keep an eye on just because more and more stats are just going to keep coming out about how good he is in coverage.
[00:39:56] And so I feel like the public is going to be like, well, I'm going to take under because you can't throw near him.
[00:40:01] You can't do it.
[00:40:01] And it's like, well.
[00:40:04] It doesn't mean he can't be.
[00:40:06] They play zone.
[00:40:06] He's really fast and big and strong.
[00:40:10] Close to the line.
[00:40:10] So he's going to do other things, too.
[00:40:12] Yeah.
[00:40:14] And so I don't like I don't mind that one at all.
[00:40:17] I don't.
[00:40:17] I don't mind telling you I have a crush on him.
[00:40:20] Yeah, I don't.
[00:40:21] You know what?
[00:40:22] I don't mind telling you you have some competition.
[00:40:30] I'm now going.
[00:40:33] I'm going a little ugly here, right?
[00:40:36] But I think it's OK.
[00:40:39] This goes towards.
[00:40:42] Wait, can I guess what I've seen on the field?
[00:40:44] Can I guess towards two trends that I believe in pretty powerfully this season?
[00:40:49] Can I guess?
[00:40:50] Yes.
[00:40:51] Is it a team?
[00:40:53] Yes.
[00:40:53] Yes.
[00:40:54] Yes.
[00:40:54] It's a money line spread.
[00:40:56] Oh, spread.
[00:40:57] Yep.
[00:40:58] Is it the Patriots?
[00:40:59] Yeah, it's the Patriots.
[00:41:01] Absolutely right.
[00:41:02] I do it.
[00:41:03] You are exactly right.
[00:41:05] Drake may getting his first start.
[00:41:07] You know, I love first start for a quarterback.
[00:41:11] They haven't seen you yet.
[00:41:13] It's harder to scout on you.
[00:41:14] The team just gets excited because they're like, God, you're not that guy.
[00:41:18] And they're so excited that he's not Jacoby percent.
[00:41:21] They could not be more excited.
[00:41:23] Yeah.
[00:41:24] So it feels like it gets some energy.
[00:41:26] It gets some energy in the building.
[00:41:27] Um, also teams that are, uh, in this, like, we talked about it last week, but this like six point, uh, underdog range, they have won more than 50% of the games, just money line.
[00:41:41] And it's like 80% cover rate or something.
[00:41:45] I heard a stat and I, it was like, they were hitting at like 20% money line at this point in the year, last year.
[00:41:52] Like, it's just outrageous.
[00:41:54] And so I think also on the other side, they're playing the Texans at home.
[00:42:01] The Texans lucked the hell out.
[00:42:03] The McDermott had, he actually got a sympathy concussion for when they, for when Josh Allen got, he was like, if I hit my head, can we put Josh back in the game?
[00:42:16] And it seemed like a good idea at the top.
[00:42:19] Tell the truth.
[00:42:21] Yeah.
[00:42:21] Tell the truth.
[00:42:23] Yeah.
[00:42:24] Uh, when he threw and took no time off the clock, um, that was something.
[00:42:29] People forget that Will Smith was in concussion and then he gave Chris Rock that concussion.
[00:42:35] Yeah.
[00:42:36] It's just, while accepting an award for concussion.
[00:42:40] Full circle.
[00:42:41] Yeah.
[00:42:42] Uh.
[00:42:43] You know the truth.
[00:42:46] He should have said that.
[00:42:48] It would have been way funnier if he said that after he slapped Chris Rock in the same accent as that doctor.
[00:42:54] And Chris Rock was like, I am telling you the truth.
[00:42:55] Your wife has alopecia.
[00:42:57] Uh.
[00:42:58] You tell the truth.
[00:43:00] Yeah, man.
[00:43:01] I am.
[00:43:02] That's what I said.
[00:43:03] Yeah.
[00:43:04] Um, but I think that this Texans team, they're not good away from home.
[00:43:17] Uh, CJ Stroud is a favorite of three or more is two and seven as a starter.
[00:43:23] Um, and they haven't like, they barely beat the bears when like the bears were bad.
[00:43:30] The bills played poorly and should have had a chance to win that game.
[00:43:34] Um, it just feels like there's something off about this Texans team.
[00:43:39] It feels like also, um, this defense, they have some talent outside, but they're not good in a lot of other places.
[00:43:51] And so it feels like a team that can be run on, can give up some big explosive plays and may is a little more equipped because he can throw more than 10 yards.
[00:44:00] Um, so I, I really like Patriots here.
[00:44:03] I think the six and a half is too many points.
[00:44:07] Um, and I think if you're looking for, if for some reason, you're still looking at teasers, uh, after they've just gotten murdered by favorites.
[00:44:17] Um, I think I would tease the Patriots up here.
[00:44:20] I think this is a great teaser candidate.
[00:44:22] If the under a touchdown scares you a little bit here, fine.
[00:44:26] Tease them up.
[00:44:27] I'm not scared by it.
[00:44:29] Uh, six and a half minus one Oh four.
[00:44:31] Cause it was up to seven.
[00:44:33] So minus one Oh four right now.
[00:44:34] I love this bet, Kyle.
[00:44:37] And I'm going to go through a couple of reasons why I love it.
[00:44:39] I do not want that teaser.
[00:44:42] Like anywhere near me, take the money line, dude.
[00:44:45] Like I honestly think the Patriots could win this game and they're plus two 25 right now.
[00:44:50] Okay.
[00:44:50] So I love the bet for a couple of reasons.
[00:44:53] You look at this total, it's 37 and a half.
[00:44:57] That is unbelievably low to have a six and a half point spread.
[00:45:02] That's only two points greater than the, uh, Broncos chargers line.
[00:45:07] And that's three.
[00:45:08] Every other line in that range of total is between one and three, because if you're going
[00:45:15] to only score 37 points, you think that the game is going to be close.
[00:45:20] Like that's typically how the NFL goes.
[00:45:23] So this line just seems completely out of whack.
[00:45:26] I love the bet.
[00:45:27] I'd sprinkle a little on the money line in real life.
[00:45:29] If you're going to, if you're going to take the plus six and a half, take the money
[00:45:33] line too.
[00:45:34] Uh, also forgot to mention quickly.
[00:45:36] No, Nico Collins.
[00:45:38] Yeah.
[00:45:38] He has been an absolute stud for the, he's on IR.
[00:45:41] Like he's been, and a stud for my fantasy team.
[00:45:46] I think the Texans are on broad watch a little bit here about what we're doing here.
[00:45:51] Yeah.
[00:45:51] I think the Texans are, they, they remind me a little bit of the Grizzlies last year.
[00:45:56] It's different circumstances, right?
[00:45:58] It's different circumstances.
[00:45:58] Where like, it's not John Moran, whatever.
[00:46:01] But when John Moran hurt his shoulder and he was like, Oh, I'm not going to play it.
[00:46:04] Like it, you kind of were like, Oh, well you guys are going to suck.
[00:46:09] And we all thought you could be in contention for the Western conference, but now you're going
[00:46:14] to suck.
[00:46:15] And I think that unfortunately is where the Texans find themselves right now.
[00:46:19] And I think this could be the week where that starts.
[00:46:21] So I love that bet.
[00:46:23] I hate how much we're agreeing right now.
[00:46:25] Yeah.
[00:46:26] What do you got second?
[00:46:27] Uh, I'm going to, I hate it.
[00:46:32] I'm, I, so I, what I had was under 17 and a half in the first half of the Chargers, uh,
[00:46:42] Broncos game, which is just free money.
[00:46:46] Um, but what I'm going to do is I'm going to take the alternate spread instead, but let
[00:46:54] me just find what total exactly I want to take.
[00:47:03] Um, yeah, I'm going to take under 30 and a half for the full game total in the Chargers
[00:47:10] Broncos at plus one 75.
[00:47:14] Uh, we already went through this enough.
[00:47:16] We all know why we feel this way, but it's this, it's an alternate for a reason.
[00:47:22] Uh, I tried to find the value there, but that's what it is.
[00:47:27] Yeah.
[00:47:27] It feels like, it feels like this is the, the difference between them saying like, Hey,
[00:47:33] there's a 50, 50 chance you strike out or get a home run, or you can just get a hundred
[00:47:38] percent double.
[00:47:39] And this just feels like you're like, yeah, let me just bang out doubles out here.
[00:47:43] Uh, you didn't quite swing for that 27 and a half home run, but I'm going to bet that in
[00:47:49] real life.
[00:47:50] Probably though.
[00:47:51] Bang out a double though.
[00:47:52] Um, especially since you're in the lead in the contest currently, uh, a little one 75
[00:47:58] is more than enough, right.
[00:48:01] To, uh, to keep you in the lead here.
[00:48:04] Um, my final one, uh, it's kind of ugly too, just because they seem determined to find new
[00:48:13] ways to lose every week.
[00:48:15] Um, which is, you know, impressive.
[00:48:20] Um, but they got a week, they got a win last week.
[00:48:24] Uh, I'm going to take the Jaguars.
[00:48:27] Uh, I think they are, uh, so they're plus money here against this Chicago bears team.
[00:48:35] Uh, Ryan, the bears have played, uh, the Panthers, the Colts and the, oh, who'd they beat up
[00:48:47] on last week?
[00:48:48] The Browns.
[00:48:50] Was it the Browns?
[00:48:50] No, the Browns got beat up by the commanders.
[00:48:52] Uh, I'll, I'll look up their last three, but trust me when I tell you there are some,
[00:48:57] uh, maybe producer Dan can grab that for me.
[00:48:59] Uh, they're three of the worst teams in the league.
[00:49:01] Like they are, since they played on that Sunday night and lost to the Texans, they have played
[00:49:10] some horrendous, horrendous teams.
[00:49:13] And so I think they're a little bit overvalued here.
[00:49:17] Um, and I think that the Jags, you talk about a team that's been going to London.
[00:49:26] Um, this is basically their second home at this point.
[00:49:30] Um, producer Dan is showing it to me here.
[00:49:35] Rams, Panthers, Rams and Panthers and Colts.
[00:49:39] They got beat by the Colts.
[00:49:40] There's Colts.
[00:49:42] Uh, producer Dan was showing me their future schedule.
[00:49:45] Uh, what a moron.
[00:49:47] Uh, you were talking about the bears, right?
[00:49:50] Yeah.
[00:49:51] Yeah.
[00:49:51] They lost to the Texans.
[00:49:53] The bears are overvalued.
[00:49:54] They lost to the Texans, lost to the Colts, and then beat the Rams and the Panthers.
[00:50:00] Yeah.
[00:50:00] The Rams played a practice squad defense out there and no wide receivers and, um, the
[00:50:07] Panthers and the Panthers.
[00:50:08] So I think this, I think they're overvalued.
[00:50:11] I think the Jags have been to London before.
[00:50:14] Um, I think that this is a team that like people.
[00:50:17] Did you see the thing that they, that their plane got delayed on the way to London because
[00:50:24] of the hurricane and they got in like 24 hours after they were supposed to?
[00:50:29] Yeah.
[00:50:29] Don't care.
[00:50:30] All right.
[00:50:32] Don't care.
[00:50:34] Right.
[00:50:35] This is where we deviate.
[00:50:36] My brother, this is where we deviate.
[00:50:39] I'm going to, I'm going to let you be on an island on this pack.
[00:50:43] Yeah.
[00:50:44] I just, I just think that the bears, they're not like, I don't think they're a very good
[00:50:51] team.
[00:50:51] I don't think they're, uh, I don't think, I don't trust Caleb Williams versus some of the
[00:50:56] pressure that the Jags are going to be able to get on him.
[00:50:59] Um, and I think that the, like, sometimes you just have to look at preseason expectations
[00:51:07] when you're like, Oh, I don't necessarily love either one of these teams.
[00:51:11] People were like, Oh, the Jags could come back.
[00:51:14] And they were like a trendy South pick, not on this podcast, but on others and like playoff
[00:51:19] teams, you know, whereas like the bears were never that like they're here for the reason.
[00:51:25] So I think that the talent discrepancy here is fairly large and I'm going to just take
[00:51:33] the Jags.
[00:51:35] Listen, I don't disagree with any of your fundamentals, but I have just been wrong on the Jags for
[00:51:42] the last four years.
[00:51:43] So I'm going to leave it alone.
[00:51:46] Uh, and I think you've been wrong on the job.
[00:51:48] I think we together have been wrong.
[00:51:50] We've always disagreed.
[00:51:53] And one of us is always wrong.
[00:51:54] Uh, they'd be my, my least profitable team to bet on, but baby we're back.
[00:51:59] Uh, well, I wish you luck on that.
[00:52:03] Uh, but I, I will not be telling that.
[00:52:07] Uh, my last one is we're, we're sticking on theme here.
[00:52:12] We're just going all Broncos all the time here.
[00:52:15] Um, and I'm going to take Zach Allen over four and a half tackles and assists.
[00:52:22] Uh, same thing we're talking about.
[00:52:25] It's plus one 25, which I was sort of shocked by.
[00:52:28] Uh, I think they're just going to be running at him wall game.
[00:52:31] So I'm pretty excited about this number.
[00:52:34] And, um, the other thing that I will shout out here is that.
[00:52:42] Well, I guess I'll, I'll let you react to that.
[00:52:45] Uh, but I'm going to give the people a bonus bet here, but yeah, I am shocked that that's
[00:52:51] plus money.
[00:52:51] That feels great to me.
[00:52:53] I don't know what Vegas knows that we don't, but, um, I think they're just thinking that
[00:52:58] they're going to run outside.
[00:53:01] Right?
[00:53:01] Like that's the only thing that I can think of is that they're just thinking that, but
[00:53:05] it doesn't really matter because he's so athletic that he's, I was going to say, and
[00:53:10] it feels like that was the other point.
[00:53:12] It feels like we've given him almost the, this is not saying they're the same player.
[00:53:18] Calm down everyone.
[00:53:19] But it feels like they've almost given him the Aaron Donald pass where they're like, Hey,
[00:53:25] you, if you think you see something, you just go for it, man.
[00:53:28] Don't worry about what gap you're supposed to be in.
[00:53:30] Don't worry about that's for these trash linebackers.
[00:53:34] Discipline is for people that aren't good.
[00:53:38] Don't worry.
[00:53:38] We have plenty back there.
[00:53:40] They're plenty disciplined.
[00:53:42] Um, so like, it feels like to your point, like even if you're stretching or your pitch
[00:53:47] planner that like there's some of that, and there's some of those were like, he's in the
[00:53:52] backfield so quick that you're just like, yeah, that probably was supposed to go to the
[00:53:57] tackle.
[00:53:58] That was a counter.
[00:54:00] I bet.
[00:54:00] When your quarterback was handing it to him, that was a tough play for you.
[00:54:05] Um, and the other thing is, is I think Harbaugh is a big proponent of like those little
[00:54:12] wide receipt, those little, uh, running back screens.
[00:54:15] Some of those Zach Allen's going to smell out and those are right in the middle, little
[00:54:19] pitch forward plays that I didn't even think about that sort of stuff, but you're absolutely
[00:54:23] right.
[00:54:24] That's just another, I, it makes me feel even better about this.
[00:54:27] I, I, I, it made, it's a questionable line.
[00:54:31] It's a little fishy.
[00:54:33] Uh, so hop on it, I guess while you can.
[00:54:36] The, my bonus bet is just, I've been going to this well every week, so I wanted to switch
[00:54:43] it up a little bit, but bone Nix's longest rush is eight and a half.
[00:54:47] And I think it's only because they expect him to drop back to pass so little in this
[00:54:53] game because it's going to be such a slog fest, but like he's going to do his typical
[00:54:59] 10 yard scramble.
[00:55:00] So it, it's minus one 15.
[00:55:03] Again, it seems like free money to me.
[00:55:05] You're welcome to pick it up as your last bet.
[00:55:07] If you'd like, no, I will not.
[00:55:11] I've, I love Trevor Lawrence.
[00:55:14] I don't love Trevor Lawrence, but I, I said, I just said bone Nix longest rush over eight
[00:55:20] and a half.
[00:55:20] It's not against Trevor Lawrence.
[00:55:22] No, but you said it's my last bet.
[00:55:24] I've already given my three.
[00:55:26] Oh, you're suggesting I should kick out the Jags.
[00:55:29] Oh, sorry.
[00:55:30] Um, no, but, uh, I do agree.
[00:55:34] It's not bad.
[00:55:35] Um, even if bone Nix is like overall rushing stats haven't been good.
[00:55:39] He typically gets one, uh, that, that goes over 10.
[00:55:42] So, I mean, I've bet on it the last two weeks and the only time it didn't hit, he was a half
[00:55:47] a yard from it hitting.
[00:55:48] So I think this is, this is a little bit of like that Tyrese Maxey early in his career
[00:55:54] when I was just betting him over one and a half threes every night before people started
[00:56:00] realizing that he was good.
[00:56:02] And I'm like, just because bone Nix is white does not mean that he cannot run the ball.
[00:56:07] He can, and he's pretty good at it.
[00:56:09] So like they're going to get in a third and long and he's going to get pressure from Bosa
[00:56:13] and he's going to run for 10 yards.
[00:56:16] So I just don't really understand why.
[00:56:19] Like that's the other thing.
[00:56:20] Like if they, if it's a third and 20 and maybe a veteran hangs in to try to get the
[00:56:25] 20 yards rookies take off for the 11.
[00:56:28] No, thank you.
[00:56:29] I'll pad those stats, baby.
[00:56:31] Yeah.
[00:56:33] Um, and your wallet loves it if you have over eight and a half.
[00:56:36] Um, all right.
[00:56:39] Uh, just to recap, uh, for myself, I am taking Sutton under four and a half receptions, parlaying
[00:56:46] that with Javante over two and a half receptions.
[00:56:49] That's plus one 56.
[00:56:51] That's a winner.
[00:56:52] Then the Patriots plus six and a half minus one of four.
[00:56:55] That's a winner.
[00:56:57] The Jags money line minus one Oh two.
[00:57:00] Maybe that's a winner is what the podcast is saying.
[00:57:03] But if we're two and one with a plus one 56, we're, we're doing a okay there.
[00:57:10] Ryan living baby living.
[00:57:12] Yeah.
[00:57:12] What did you have this week?
[00:57:13] Remind the people.
[00:57:14] Yeah.
[00:57:14] So I got Patrick Sertain over three and a half tackles and assists.
[00:57:18] It's minus one 30.
[00:57:20] I have Zach Allen over four and a half tackles and assists.
[00:57:24] That's plus one 25.
[00:57:26] And what did I do?
[00:57:28] I did under 30 and a half plus one 30 something, Dan, something like that.
[00:57:38] Plus one 70.
[00:57:39] I thought you got.
[00:57:40] Oh, one 75.
[00:57:42] Yeah.
[00:57:43] It was plus money for sure.
[00:57:44] So, um, yeah, I, I also gave out two bonus bets of Bo Nix over eight and a half rushing
[00:57:52] yards at minus one 15 and the under 17 and a half first half at minus one 15.
[00:57:59] It's a beautiful thing.
[00:58:00] It's a beautiful thing.
[00:58:01] I see a lot of green, a lot of winners in our future.
[00:58:05] Uh, we were a little out of sync the first few weeks.
[00:58:07] We're getting our feet under us, but now on solid ground, we're ready to take off.
[00:58:12] Uh, I honestly, I think my, my NFL was delayed because I was on a rafting trip, which was
[00:58:19] a wonderful time.
[00:58:20] I, I, I wouldn't have changed it, but like everything was delayed a week.
[00:58:25] You know, I had my first week where I was still getting into the groove of things and
[00:58:29] your brain is adjusting to watching 10 games at once, betting on all these things and watching
[00:58:35] all these teams.
[00:58:36] And now I feel like I'm really getting into a groove.
[00:58:38] So, and Sophie's going to be gone.
[00:58:41] So, uh, I'm going to watch all these games again, this week.
[00:58:44] So, uh, beautiful thing.
[00:58:46] It's wonderful.
[00:58:49] It's not wonderful.
[00:58:50] It's okay.
[00:58:51] I would say she actually listened to the podcast.
[00:58:53] We'll see if she listens to this or not.
[00:58:57] I meant it's a wonderful thing to watch football.
[00:58:59] Not that Sophie is way, uh, to be clear, to clarify for those who may be listening and
[00:59:08] and any other women in our lives.
[00:59:11] We love having you there on Sundays as long as we can watch football.
[00:59:15] Uh, yeah, you can, uh, yeah.
[00:59:17] Watch football.
[00:59:18] It's awesome.
[00:59:20] It's a great time.
[00:59:22] Um, all right.
[00:59:24] Just quick listener note.
[00:59:26] Um, next week we're going to do, uh, two podcasts.
[00:59:30] So we're going to come, uh, Monday.
[00:59:33] We'll do reaction to this game and then we're turning around for the quick preview for the
[00:59:39] Saints.
[00:59:40] And then, uh, Saturday we're going to do our NBA season preview.
[00:59:44] We're going to break down the nuggets.
[00:59:45] We're going to break down everything in the NBA.
[00:59:46] Uh, and we'll get you ready for the home opener versus the Oklahoma city Sunday.
[00:59:54] Um, I, I found a ticket stub from an Oklahoma city versus Denver nuggets game that mom got
[01:00:03] me a ticket to when I was at OU, uh, in like 2016 maybe.
[01:00:10] Uh, and I looked up the box score cause I was pretty sure that this was the case, but I
[01:00:15] think it's still the only game where three teammates have had a triple double in the same
[01:00:20] game.
[01:00:21] Uh, it was Serge Ibaka, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook for the thunder.
[01:00:26] It was double OT.
[01:00:28] And these were like the doldrums of the nuggets, but mom was teaching one of the assistant coaches
[01:00:34] kids.
[01:00:35] So she got his tickets like in the family section behind the bench.
[01:00:39] And it's me and my two roommates and we had a blast.
