[00:04:32] no one gave a shit that Russ is just gonna come in and be like, I am absolutely furious

[00:04:38] and I have no idea why.

[00:04:39] And he's gonna single-handedly make the second unit good.

[00:04:44] And, um, I think the style of play, the way Malone is attacking him, uh, like Pete Westbrook

[00:04:51] was talking about, like, he's been having to do a lot of like off-ball stuff.

[00:04:55] Like he played with Harden and those guys.

[00:04:57] And he's like, that's not really my strength.

[00:04:58] Like I'm, you know, trying to, I've, you know, I'm a downhill player and I think the

[00:05:04] Nuggets are just like, yeah, do that, dude.

[00:05:46] And he's talking about how everybody's crying and like, you know, it's this big emotional

[00:05:52] moment because it was like his first return back to like, oh, I'm, I'm good again.

[00:05:56] I still have this in me, you know?

[00:05:58] And I really hope that Russ gets a moment in Denver, you know, maybe raising a banner

[00:06:04] where, you know, the team is so excited for him because I think that that he can play

[00:06:10] that role and we, we missed vets like Jeff Green and we missed these guys and we immediately

[00:06:17] replaced them with Russell Westbrook and Dario Saric.

[00:06:22] And I think Dario Saric is going to be maybe the one that I'm standing for a little bit too

[00:06:27] hard because I think he's going to need it first of all, but he is going to be, I think, extremely

[00:06:33] likable on this team.

[00:06:36] I think, uh, I think Jokic kind of gets a white European players pass on our team.

[00:06:42] Uh, also you have to remember, this is the fan base at large that, uh, once, uh, gave a

[00:06:47] participation clap to Plumlee after he air balled a free throw, but booed Will Barton.

[00:06:52] Uh, so, um, I think Russ is going to need more support and let me tell you, 372 is going

[00:06:59] to be a safe zone for you.

[00:07:00] Well, I'm, I'm not telling, I'm not saying that I'm going to not support Russ, but

[00:07:04] I'm saying you, you, I actually think I, and I, I think that they're going to be good

[00:07:10] together.

[00:09:27] Um, but MPJ bulking up and them saying they're going to use them before to me, that says we're

[00:09:35] going to play small ball.

[00:09:36] We're going to play Saric at five, which he's done a lot.

[00:09:38] Like he's guarded Jokic at five, right?

[00:09:41] And then he's our backup five.

[00:09:43] You have Saric at five, you have Porter at four, and then you have P Watt, you have Russ,

[00:09:50] like, and then Strother or Brown, whoever, no, Braun, he hasn't, he plays better with that.

[00:09:57] Um, they, whichever, you know, the other one is, and you kind of look at it and you're

[00:10:02] like, this just kind of makes sense, dude.

[00:10:04] Like you got shooting with Saric, um, like shooting with MPJ, shooting with either one,

[00:10:12] um, Strother probably more.

[00:10:14] So, but then you just have a Russ just flying.

[00:10:21] We really should move on, but the reason not to go small is probably the Timberwolves and

[00:10:27] they just traded the reason not to go small.

[00:11:31] Like if you don't guard Dante DiVincenzo, he shot 40% from three last year.

[00:11:35] He was awesome on the Bucs championship team.

[00:11:58] scared of them as much anymore.

[00:11:59] Like their problem for Jokic was they had so many bodies to throw at him and they just

[00:12:05] got rid of one.

[00:12:06] So it's, you, Jokic is going to bust them up a gun this year, which is like, we can talk

[00:12:14] about more about his, uh, beard and, uh, his, yeah, he's, I, I'm just very excited for the

[00:12:22] season.

[00:13:01] Um, and, uh, he tore his ACL and kept playing versus the Bucs.

[00:13:06] Which is wildly impressive.

[00:13:11] Um, and so I thought that, I thought the Jets defense looked good.

[00:13:23] Like there were a lot of things focused on this and it was in pretty much everyone's

[00:13:29] teaser, which I did stay away from, uh, the Chiefs Jets teaser, which everyone in America

[00:13:34] had.

[00:13:36] Um, but teasers are getting slaughtered this year, by the way.

[00:13:40] Yeah.

[00:13:41] Unless you're just taking underdogs six points and you're just teasing them up.

[00:13:45] They're outright winning.

[00:13:46] You should be taking the money line.

[00:13:49] This was another one of underdog by six or more points that won outright.

[00:13:54] I think there's something like almost 60% this year.

[00:14:08] They must, I think the Jets must've just scored their touchdown and the Broncos were plus 470

[00:14:17] It was going to pay out like $500 or something.

[00:14:22] Um, and I felt pretty good about the bet, but really the reason I made it is like, I

[00:14:26] think we're going to score here.

[00:14:28] And so I, I'm going to get a better value here and I'll cash it out.

[00:14:33] And so they score and we're up.

[00:14:36] I think it was this, the score that put us up and, uh, there weren't, there were only

[00:14:40] two.

[00:14:41] I was like, yeah, it had to be.

[00:14:42] And we missed the final kick.

[00:14:44] So it wasn't that.

[00:14:46] So, uh, we score and it's 10, nine.

[00:14:50] And I'm like, absolutely no shot.

[00:14:54] Cash that puppy out for about half of what I should have made.

[00:14:58] Uh, so when is a, when is a win?

[00:15:05] Um, so I guess going through that one, how good do you think legitimately this Broncos

[00:15:15] defenses versus it was weather and the jets are worse than we thought?

[00:15:20] What, what kind of combination do you play there?

[00:15:23] It's both end, but I think the defense is definitely good.

[00:15:27] Uh, there's, you, you can't do that to this many teams.

[00:15:35] Like even the teams that have beat us, you know, it's not been necessarily, I think the

[00:15:41] defense has gotten tired more than they've, uh, played poorly.

[00:15:46] You know, it's not, it's, it's because we don't have any offensive production.

[00:15:51] The Steelers game is the only game that still pisses me off with what the defense did.

[00:15:53] They didn't give up tons of points still in it, but just the soft coverage and the easy

[00:15:59] things they were giving up.

[00:16:00] But it seems like that's a game plan thing almost.

[00:16:03] Yeah.

[00:16:03] Not the players.

[00:16:04] Yeah.

[00:16:04] So I think there's more talent on that side of the ball than we thought there was to begin

[00:16:08] the year.

[00:16:09] And I think it's, they're not going to be a top 10 defense.

[00:16:13] Like, I don't think that that's the case, but I think that they're pretty good and they'll

[00:16:18] keep us in games if Bo Nix allows them to.

[00:16:21] Um, so the, I would say my two biggest surprise Broncos thus far would both be on the defense.

[00:16:29] And the first is obviously he's been getting a lot more, um, publicity of Riley Moss, uh,

[00:16:36] the rookie cornerback.

[00:16:37] Um, but the best player on our defense has been Zach Allen and it's not particularly close.

[00:16:44] And I think he's like a top five interior defensive lineman.

[00:16:48] Like he was wrecking the shit out of games.

[00:16:50] Like he'll crush the run and then he's getting insane pressure up the middle too.

[00:16:55] And like, he was in Roger's face.

[00:16:59] I was going to take him again to have a sack.

[00:17:02] I bet on it two weeks ago is one of my best bets.

[00:17:04] But the lot, the player props for the defense aren't out yet.

[00:17:09] So, but that is a, just a free, I mean, because he's an interior lineman, his odds are out of

[00:17:16] whack, but like he's going to get pressure.

[00:17:19] He's going to be there.

[00:17:21] And his line was 0.25.

[00:17:24] So even if he gets half a sack, it's like, and it feels like money because there's not as

[00:17:30] much talent, especially with like Browning's been banged up.

[00:17:33] Um, it feels like all of our schemes and blitzes or stuff are like, can we get Zach Allen one

[00:17:39] on one?

[00:17:40] Yeah.

[00:17:40] And we don't care if our linebacker gets home or whoever.

[00:17:43] It's just like, Hey, can we have one lineman trying to block Zach Allen?

[00:17:47] Uh, cause I bet he's going to just do some unholy things to that man.

[00:17:51] So I think those are the two things that coming into the season, maybe I underestimated Zach

[00:17:55] Allen was like pretty meh the first like five, six weeks of last year.

[00:18:01] And then he came on at the end.

[00:18:03] Um, and man, this year he is unreal.

[00:18:09] And then Riley Moss, he had the one pass interference in the end zone, which wasn't like a wild,

[00:18:15] dumb pass interference.

[00:18:16] Like he was genuinely coming back on the ball.

[00:18:18] He got there a little early.

[00:18:19] Like it's whatever in today's NFL, honestly.

[00:18:23] Um, and so I, I can't find a lot of mistakes for him.

[00:18:29] And that was one of the things that we harped on in the preseason was like, okay, we have

[00:18:33] certain, but like, who else are we putting a corner?

[00:18:36] They're going to throw all over and everyone throws at Riley because that's what you still

[00:18:42] should do.

[00:18:43] Yeah.

[00:18:43] And he has been great over there.

[00:18:46] And I worry about a rookie wall.

[00:18:49] I worry about, you know, obviously what the, what that looks like is more and more people

[00:18:53] get tape on you and kind of your tendencies to the corner and all that, but he's been awesome.

[00:18:58] And I wish I would have seen, um, and, and maybe he did it during the season.

[00:19:03] I think he did, but I saw this past week, the, uh, it was before the jets game, but they

[00:19:11] were like, he was talking about the Vikings be like, well, how would you, you know, do

[00:19:15] you think you can guard Justin Jefferson?

[00:19:16] And he's like, does he bleed red?

[00:19:18] He's like, I bleed red.

[00:19:19] He's like, so he's like, I don't care if he's, he's like, yeah, he's great.

[00:19:22] He's like, but I can cover anybody.

[00:19:24] Like, he's like, I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go after him.

[00:19:27] Like he may be me.

[00:19:29] I may be him.

[00:19:30] Somebody, but I'm scared of Justin Jefferson.

[00:19:32] And I was like, wish I would have seen this because, uh, anyone who's like, yeah, I'm

[00:19:38] not scared of probably the best wide receivers in the league.

[00:19:40] You can be our number two corner.

[00:19:43] You're, if you're not scared of Justin Jefferson, you're certainly, uh, not afraid of Alan Lazard.

[00:19:50] Uh, out there, you're not like, oh man, that guy.

[00:19:55] It's not an easy job though, which to your point about the rookie wall, like he might hit

[00:20:00] that a little bit harder because he's got PS2 on the other side.

[00:20:03] And it's like, you're just going to get targeted.

[00:20:06] Like if they find that thing that you're not good at, you better get good at it quick because

[00:20:11] they're going to exploit the shit out of it.

[00:20:13] So it's, uh, I think the defense is, it's going to have its ups and downs, right?

[00:20:22] Like I don't think that we have enough talent that this is sustainable, um, on a week to

[00:20:27] week basis where we can be counting on this lockdown defense.

[00:20:31] I think we can count on it this weekend.

[00:20:34] Um, but yeah.

[00:20:38] Say what you will about Aaron Rodgers, but Gardner Minshew, I do think is worse than him.

[00:20:51] Cause it wasn't, cause you know, like sometimes you can see the flags whipping and they're

[00:21:20] So that's, uh, maybe breaking news there from you, right?

[00:21:27] Like there's sometimes where you can like see the weather so terribly and it didn't look

[00:21:32] like the wind was so bad, but, or that like the rain was like sleeting or the snow was

[00:21:38] kind of, but like both quarterbacks couldn't hold on to the ball.

[00:21:43] Like they were both just looking at their hands on the sideline, just like what the, like.

[00:21:50] Can you imagine if it wasn't Aaron?

[00:21:52] I had this thought during the game.

[00:21:53] Could you imagine if it wasn't Aaron Rodgers on the other side, what Denver would be saying

[00:21:58] about Bo Nix?

[00:21:59] They'd be like, his hands are too small.

[00:22:02] He can't grip the ball.

[00:22:03] Well, but like you had one of the greatest quarterbacks in the world on the other side

[00:22:07] also doing just insanely dumb stuff on a regular basis.

[00:22:12] So it, that tells you how bad it was.

[00:22:15] And Bo Nix is so lucky that he got to play that game against Aaron Rodgers as opposed to

[00:22:21] say Gardner Minshew.

[00:22:24] You do that against Gardner and everyone's like, I don't care what the weather is.

[00:22:27] You gotta throw more negative seven yards.

[00:22:34] Uh, it was a great catch by Corlin Sutton.
