[00:00:00] The Blucifer Brothers are back. I'll tell you who's not back from summer vacation. Anyone but

[00:00:06] Nicole Jokic. We're having a panic discussion about the Nuggets and to balance things out because

[00:00:13] life's all about balance, Dan. The happiness of the Denver Broncos. We're talking playoff picture

[00:00:20] heading into the bye. Where do we think they can get to? Can the Broncos be a six seed? Dan, play that

[00:00:26] funky music. Welcome into another episode of The Blucifer Brothers. Beautiful Thursday here in

[00:00:38] the Mile High City. I am Kyle Pohlen, joined as always by my co-host and brother, Ryan Pohlen.

[00:00:44] Ryan, how's your day going? It's been a busy week, both on the sports front and just, you know,

[00:00:53] in life. So I'm a little more tired than I typically would feel on a Thursday evening, but we're powering

[00:01:04] through. Hey, I feel you. Unlike the Nuggets. Yeah, this is a somber, somber Nuggets time,

[00:01:13] despite a feel-good come from behind victory over the Warriors. But we'll get to that momentarily.

[00:01:19] I feel you on the tiredness. This is my last week of grad school before the winter break,

[00:01:26] and it is just summoning any motivation to write any words on a page is really what it feels like

[00:01:35] is being tested right now. Not my actual knowledge of anything, just my will to do it and turn it in,

[00:01:41] which I'm hoping we'll get there. We got two more things to do. So fingers crossed for me.

[00:01:46] Anyway, but let's get into the Denver sports scene. Where do you want to start, Ryan? Do you want

[00:01:53] to start happy with our Broncos or do you want to start sad? Get it out of the way with this Nuggets team.

[00:02:01] I think we start sad. Yeah. So if you didn't watch the Cleveland Cavaliers game and you just looked

[00:02:11] and he said, huh, looks like Jokic had a great game. Porter scored pretty well. They lost by 12. Why are

[00:02:19] these guys so somber? That's the second best team in the East. That was not a 12-point game, nor did

[00:02:28] any member of the Nuggets besides Jokic look like they had any clue what was going on in any of the

[00:02:36] last two games. Let's just get into it, Ryan. I feel like we've been beating around this bush for a

[00:02:43] while now and we've been trying to kid glove it and we've been trying to give them the benefit of

[00:02:49] the doubt and we've been trying to be nice. Jamal Murray fucking sucks. Like he is bad right now.

[00:02:58] Like defensively, his rotations, like we look like a bunch of rookies out there with the way

[00:03:07] we play defense. Tonight against Cleveland, like just over helping against a team that like all

[00:03:13] they have is they have creators in Garland, creators in Mitchell, they have rim running bigs and then they

[00:03:20] just have guys who would love to stand and shoot threes and we were like, hey, we're not going to

[00:03:26] guard you from three. We're going to weigh over help on Donovan Mitchell. Everyone collapse on every

[00:03:32] drive, just undisciplined, stupid basketball. And Jamal Murray's been a culprit. And now these last

[00:03:39] two games, the amount of one-on-one we are seeing from Jamal Murray is staggering. It used to be

[00:03:48] the Murray flurry. Part of it was that he would have some like unbelievable shot making, but part of it was

[00:03:54] because it was literally a flurry. He would go off and then he would go right back into his role and right

[00:04:03] back into being a creator, being a point guard, like setting things up. And now it feels like things stop

[00:04:10] when he has the ball. He's like the goddamn Julius Randle of point guards where you're like, yeah, that's a

[00:04:17] black hole right there. If there's nine seconds on the shot clock and he has it, I'm just like, well, that's going to be

[00:04:24] really here for us. I don't understand it, Ryan. Like I never seen a regression like this. His threes

[00:04:33] tonight, he literally looks like he has a hitch in his threes, the way his legs go. Like it looks

[00:04:39] like he's trying to get it there. I don't know what's going on. I don't know if he's not healthy.

[00:04:45] Obviously, we've said it on the show multiple times, forever going to be indebted to Jamal Murray, forever.

[00:04:51] He's going to be a part of some of our favorite sports memories. But we also have to accept reality that we have

[00:04:58] two max guys right now who don't look like they know how to play basketball when Jokic isn't on the floor.

[00:05:09] Like I don't need you to score 30 every night, but I need you to look better than Jared McCain

[00:05:18] if we're going to max you. I would like that. And that's just not the case right now.

[00:05:24] No. I mean, he is playing a lot of one-on-one. He's not shooting the three well. He doesn't look

[00:05:34] explosive going to the rim. He's not the threat in the pick and roll that he used to be. So they're

[00:05:40] respecting him less. Like it's all things that are connected and it hasn't looked right for a long

[00:05:47] time now. This isn't an anomaly of this year. I mean, he essentially didn't play in the Olympics

[00:05:55] and he was a zero in most of that Wolf series. So...

[00:06:00] And even heading into the postseason, there was bad signs, but we were like, oh, he's a little nicked.

[00:06:05] We're resting.

[00:06:06] We had a couple games in the playoffs where it was like, oh, you had a flurry or you hit big shots.

[00:06:11] Right. But we're a layup line defensively right now. Like it is, it's wide open threes. And then

[00:06:20] if you want to get to the rim, like even against AG tonight, I think it was Niang or somebody,

[00:06:28] he just went straight to the bucket. And I'm like, what are we like? That was a transition bucket with

[00:06:33] four people back and he took AG to the bucket and laid it up. Like what is going on? That's not,

[00:06:40] and I don't know how you were watching or what, how close of attention you were paying,

[00:06:45] but there was a moment where I can't remember exactly when it was in the game. I want to say

[00:06:50] it was the third quarter.

[00:06:52] God, that was brutal.

[00:06:53] But Peyton Watson was about to shoot a free throw and AG tried to get everybody together.

[00:06:59] Yeah.

[00:06:59] And Jamal just stood on the opposite end of the court.

[00:07:02] Yeah.

[00:07:02] And the altitude camera panned to Jokic on the floor and he was just staring at Jamal.

[00:07:10] Like deadpan, staring at Jamal across the court. Like I think pissed that he wasn't going over to like,

[00:07:18] Yes.

[00:07:19] talk to your teammates. Like,

[00:07:21] Yeah.

[00:07:22] And I'm not saying that they're enemies. Like that's clearly not true. I'm not,

[00:07:27] you know, all those things. It's all grain of salt stuff at this point in terms of like the,

[00:07:35] uh, body language and like the doctoring of behind the scenes. But what is not,

[00:07:41] what is very clear to the eye is that he's not the player that he was two years ago. He's not

[00:07:46] playing like that person right now. He's not playing like a person who deserves a max contract.

[00:07:50] And to be honest with you, like,

[00:07:55] I would be thinking about what you could get for a Jamal Murray.

[00:07:59] Like,

[00:08:00] I think it's that time where it's not,

[00:08:04] if he doesn't,

[00:08:05] his body language makes it seem like he doesn't want to be here.

[00:08:09] It looks disinterested.

[00:08:11] And I thought about that with the contract where I was like,

[00:08:13] is this a guy who just got paid?

[00:08:15] Like we heard all those,

[00:08:17] it made me think of all the reports that have been out in recent,

[00:08:21] um,

[00:08:22] months about Embiid where people said,

[00:08:25] once he got that contract,

[00:08:27] he switched and he wasn't the same motivation.

[00:08:30] Wasn't the same leadership.

[00:08:32] Wasn't the same thing.

[00:08:33] There were things about Embiid at KU and throughout his career where it was like,

[00:08:39] Ooh,

[00:08:39] maybe this guy isn't fully bought into basketball.

[00:08:43] Everything you've heard about Jamal Murray in his career is like,

[00:08:46] Oh,

[00:08:47] we had to take his shoes away.

[00:08:48] Like what the fuck happened to that guy?

[00:08:50] Yeah.

[00:08:51] Sorry.

[00:08:51] But like,

[00:08:52] that is clearly not the way that he approached the rehab with his knee.

[00:08:56] Like it is.

[00:08:59] I just,

[00:09:00] I don't know everything,

[00:09:01] right?

[00:09:02] Like we don't know everything,

[00:09:03] but he doesn't,

[00:09:04] he either isn't healthy and isn't taking the necessary steps to get himself to be

[00:09:10] healthy and that player,

[00:09:12] or he has some underlying thing that we don't know about that has been bothered,

[00:09:19] but like fucking get it fixed.

[00:09:22] Sit.

[00:09:22] It's yeah,

[00:09:23] it's clearly better.

[00:09:25] So we'll play,

[00:09:26] we'll start Russ.

[00:09:28] Yeah.

[00:09:28] Who cares?

[00:09:29] Honestly,

[00:09:29] at this point it'd be better.

[00:09:31] We usually make a push when Russ comes in and gets to play with the rest of the

[00:09:35] starters.

[00:09:35] I told you that in the Warriors game,

[00:09:38] I was like,

[00:09:39] I hope we go to Russ here.

[00:09:40] Yeah.

[00:09:40] Like I would not be upset if we benched Jamal Murray and went to Russell Westbrook.

[00:09:45] No,

[00:09:45] that is,

[00:09:46] that's the point where we're at in clutch minutes against the Warriors is we want

[00:09:52] Jamal Murray to be riding the pine.

[00:09:55] Like that's bad.

[00:09:57] That's no,

[00:09:58] something is either go,

[00:09:59] something is going on.

[00:10:00] It's,

[00:10:00] it's either explainable by injury or something else going on.

[00:10:05] or it's explainable by him losing interest in what made him burnout.

[00:10:12] I mean,

[00:10:12] that's the only thing I can think of is you hear about,

[00:10:15] you know,

[00:10:15] these kids that are playing so much basketball,

[00:10:18] so much all the time.

[00:10:19] And then by the time they get to the NBA and obviously Jamal had so much drive

[00:10:23] and he reached the highest of highs and we've seen him kind of put his

[00:10:27] heart on his sleeve and be so emotionally invested.

[00:10:29] And he was kind of that person for Nuggets fans,

[00:10:32] which is what endured,

[00:10:33] endured him so much because while you respect Jokic,

[00:10:36] his greatness,

[00:10:38] no Nuggets fan feels like they're homies with Jokic,

[00:10:41] right?

[00:10:42] Like you feel,

[00:10:43] you felt like,

[00:10:44] okay,

[00:10:45] like when Jamal was having a tough time,

[00:10:47] you could see it on his face that it was killing him.

[00:10:49] And you were like,

[00:10:50] all right,

[00:10:51] man,

[00:10:51] fuck.

[00:10:51] All right.

[00:10:51] I just want this to happen.

[00:10:52] And then when we'd have those flurries,

[00:10:54] the emotion,

[00:10:56] the joy,

[00:10:56] all of that,

[00:10:57] like it was so much there.

[00:10:58] And it's not right now.

[00:11:01] And it's just,

[00:11:03] it's really bad.

[00:11:05] And to your point,

[00:11:07] I know Malone because they came back and they played two good stretches of

[00:11:11] defense.

[00:11:12] Like when they came back in that Warriors game,

[00:11:14] but like it was a layup line before that too.

[00:11:18] Like you and I were in this arena.

[00:11:20] It was terrible defense for large stretches of that game.

[00:11:24] And there were some open threes missed that I'll tell you the Cavs didn't,

[00:11:29] didn't miss them tonight.

[00:11:31] The perk,

[00:11:32] the only positives that I think you come away from tonight with are that you want

[00:11:37] to talk about just missing bunnies at the rim.

[00:11:40] Yeah.

[00:11:40] I mean,

[00:11:41] the nuggets were terrible offensive and including Jokic to some,

[00:11:45] I mean,

[00:11:45] he was a great,

[00:11:46] he had a great game,

[00:11:47] but like,

[00:11:48] no,

[00:11:48] he missed some shots on the broadcast.

[00:11:50] Like he's still over 50%,

[00:11:52] but he just was like,

[00:11:53] not hitting.

[00:11:54] No,

[00:11:54] but I genuinely think.

[00:11:57] Cause in the Warriors,

[00:11:58] he missed some 15 footers.

[00:11:59] He talks about a post game.

[00:12:00] He was like,

[00:12:00] I missed some,

[00:12:01] some open,

[00:12:02] you know,

[00:12:02] some easy shots for myself.

[00:12:04] And,

[00:12:04] you know,

[00:12:05] he got it going,

[00:12:06] but it was literally,

[00:12:08] I think Jokic is,

[00:12:12] he is working so hard and so fast to find solutions.

[00:12:16] And he's like a guy on a sinking ship where it's like the cartoons where you're just plugging a hole and then water comes in somewhere else.

[00:12:24] And you run and you do that.

[00:12:26] And he's just running out of duct tape.

[00:12:28] And I'm worried that like,

[00:12:29] we're already just seeing little signs of wear and tear where it's like,

[00:12:34] yeah,

[00:12:34] dude,

[00:12:34] when you have to do fucking everything,

[00:12:38] sometimes you're going to miss some things that you would normally make when you have a normal workload.

[00:12:42] And we're not to the all-star break.

[00:12:44] He didn't look like he had legs tonight.

[00:12:47] Like,

[00:12:48] he's,

[00:12:48] he shot a half court shot that came up like three feet short.

[00:12:52] And I was like,

[00:12:53] oh no,

[00:12:54] like that.

[00:12:55] He,

[00:12:55] he normally will be long on those.

[00:12:58] Well,

[00:12:58] I think also,

[00:13:00] I mean,

[00:13:01] God bless you speak a body language and Jokic has improved so much.

[00:13:05] Like there would be games.

[00:13:08] Old Jokic would have just pouted the whole game because he came out so aggressive and playing so well in that first quarter and was just like,

[00:13:22] don't worry guys.

[00:13:23] I'm going to just absolutely obliterate Mobley and add Jared Allen.

[00:13:27] Don't worry about the fact that they have two bigs down here.

[00:13:30] I will go through both of them.

[00:13:32] No problem.

[00:13:34] And on the other end,

[00:13:36] he has to just be like,

[00:13:38] guys,

[00:13:38] we're just not going to guard people.

[00:13:41] Like,

[00:13:42] oh,

[00:13:42] I scored two.

[00:13:43] Ah,

[00:13:43] here comes a three.

[00:13:45] Ah,

[00:13:45] here comes a three.

[00:13:46] I mean,

[00:13:47] it was unbearable to watch.

[00:13:49] And the thing that is mind blowing to me,

[00:13:52] three point defense.

[00:13:53] And then the lack of three point shooting is so frustrating to watch.

[00:13:58] I mean,

[00:13:59] they were down to heading into halftime and they were minus 39 and three pointers.

[00:14:04] Dude,

[00:14:04] I almost,

[00:14:05] it was,

[00:14:05] it was defying logic.

[00:14:07] There was a point in the second quarter where our first half odds were plus 14 and a half.

[00:14:13] And I was like,

[00:14:14] okay,

[00:14:15] well,

[00:14:15] Jokic is going to come back.

[00:14:17] Yeah.

[00:14:18] Like,

[00:14:18] it's still the first half.

[00:14:20] Malone isn't going to sit up if we get down by 20 in the first half.

[00:14:23] Like,

[00:14:23] come on guys.

[00:14:24] What are we talking about?

[00:14:25] No.

[00:14:25] And I almost bet it,

[00:14:26] but I was like,

[00:14:27] you can't bet on this team.

[00:14:29] I told you that this was a take that I had,

[00:14:31] but like the,

[00:14:32] the,

[00:14:33] one of the most frustrating things about being a Nuggets fan right now is that like,

[00:14:37] even watching the Broncos,

[00:14:39] you know,

[00:14:39] there's stuff you feel like confident in betting on.

[00:14:41] Like I like Zach Allen to have tackles,

[00:14:45] maybe a sack.

[00:14:46] Nick Benito was a good sack bet the last couple of weeks,

[00:14:50] but there's nothing that I feel confident in for this Nuggets team.

[00:14:56] And that includes Jokic because he will take whatever they give him.

[00:15:01] If he could have 40 assists and 20 rebounds and 12 points,

[00:15:05] he would like,

[00:15:07] that's what he would do if we could win the game that way.

[00:15:10] But now it might get to a point where you just take him to have 30 points every single game,

[00:15:18] because it's the only plus odds you can get on a player prop.

[00:15:21] And he's probably going to get there.

[00:15:23] Like he didn't tonight,

[00:15:24] but he was damn close and it was a blowout for most of the game.

[00:15:29] So,

[00:15:29] and he missed again.

[00:15:31] But it's just,

[00:15:33] it's so frustrating to,

[00:15:36] to not feel like we can go on one of those runs because we don't have anybody who can shoot the ball.

[00:15:43] Like Jamal can't hit two threes in a row or three threes and then have CB confidently step into one.

[00:15:49] Like that's not happening.

[00:15:51] We're having AG take off the dribble threes with three seconds left on the shot clock.

[00:15:55] Like,

[00:15:56] Oh my God.

[00:15:57] Let's just get into that.

[00:15:59] By the way,

[00:15:59] we've talked a lot about Jamal Murray,

[00:16:03] but I don't know if it was intentional or not,

[00:16:07] or if Malone was just genuinely like,

[00:16:09] ah,

[00:16:09] maybe we can get back into this game and I'm going to cheat it with non Jokic minutes.

[00:16:13] Cause whatever,

[00:16:14] the rest of these starters can try to start carrying some of this load.

[00:16:18] But it was interesting when Jokic rested,

[00:16:21] Malone came back quick with,

[00:16:24] he was playing really small,

[00:16:25] but he was playing MPJ.

[00:16:26] He was playing,

[00:16:28] um,

[00:16:29] Brown.

[00:16:29] He was playing Porter and he was playing AG.

[00:16:33] And then Peyton Watson was out there with him.

[00:16:35] And so basically he was playing five guys who besides Jokic have the most minutes on the team because Peyton Watson started for AG.

[00:16:44] Right.

[00:16:44] Um,

[00:16:45] um,

[00:16:47] and watching that offense,

[00:16:51] it was unconscionable.

[00:16:55] Like the,

[00:16:57] the fact that it would take us every 12 seconds and one person would have touched the ball.

[00:17:05] We couldn't just like pass the ball around.

[00:17:07] We couldn't even get to the college level of just like,

[00:17:10] Hey,

[00:17:10] let's just dribble hand off here.

[00:17:11] Get some movement,

[00:17:12] get some bodies going.

[00:17:13] There's just one guy standing there.

[00:17:14] And then we took a terrible Murray fadeaway three,

[00:17:18] a terrible MPJ and an end of shot clock AG thing.

[00:17:22] And I was like,

[00:17:24] I don't know how you have any ego.

[00:17:30] If you're any of those guys,

[00:17:33] if I was any of those four guys,

[00:17:34] I would say,

[00:17:36] Hey,

[00:17:36] coach,

[00:17:38] everyone.

[00:17:38] I apologize.

[00:17:40] Like clearly we suck right now because if we can't even get into an offense without Jokic on the floor,

[00:17:50] we're clearly not locked in.

[00:17:52] And we're clearly so stupid that we need to put some effort in here.

[00:17:59] I said this to you at the Warriors game.

[00:18:01] I was like,

[00:18:02] how do you play with Jokic for this long?

[00:18:04] If you're Murray,

[00:18:05] if you're Porter and do really dumb things on the basketball court.

[00:18:10] Like,

[00:18:11] it just doesn't make sense to me.

[00:18:13] I mean,

[00:18:14] occasionally it does,

[00:18:15] but it's the whole time that they're out.

[00:18:18] Yes.

[00:18:19] No,

[00:18:19] like a brain fart here and there.

[00:18:22] Jokic has them.

[00:18:23] It's fine,

[00:18:24] but it's not sustained.

[00:18:27] Stupidity is wild.

[00:18:28] Well,

[00:18:29] it's not sustainable.

[00:18:30] Like you can't,

[00:18:32] you're not going to win.

[00:18:33] No,

[00:18:33] I mean,

[00:18:33] their stupidity is,

[00:18:35] has been sustained.

[00:18:36] I know.

[00:18:37] Yeah.

[00:18:38] It's,

[00:18:38] I just don't,

[00:18:39] I don't know what,

[00:18:42] to say,

[00:18:45] if I'm Mike Malone,

[00:18:46] besides I turn on those minutes and I say,

[00:18:49] okay guys,

[00:18:50] so explain to me why you think us playing an isolation basketball style is good.

[00:18:57] Here's you guys doing it.

[00:19:00] Here's you guys doing it.

[00:19:01] You guys think the Cavs are coming out of the East?

[00:19:05] Nobody thinks the Cavs are coming out of the East,

[00:19:07] but here you guys are executing out there.

[00:19:09] Wow.

[00:19:11] Wow.

[00:19:11] Look at them go.

[00:19:13] Good Lord.

[00:19:15] Jamal way to play out there,

[00:19:17] man.

[00:19:17] Blowing by people.

[00:19:20] Porter.

[00:19:21] No one sees the fact that you won't go inside the three point line and you're just trying

[00:19:26] to step back and pump fake.

[00:19:27] No one sees that coming.

[00:19:29] I love it.

[00:19:30] I love how we have all the guys just standing around.

[00:19:33] That's super great.

[00:19:35] Like,

[00:19:36] we used to be,

[00:19:37] they called it Nuggets basketball.

[00:19:39] They said the ball is popping.

[00:19:40] Like,

[00:19:40] the ball is moving.

[00:19:41] And even without Jokic,

[00:19:43] that identity was contagious.

[00:19:45] And that identity was there.

[00:19:46] And now,

[00:19:48] it's literally guys have taken from that.

[00:19:51] And I don't know what's going on.

[00:19:53] I don't know why it's such a change.

[00:19:56] And if it's a coaching thing to where guys are,

[00:19:58] to where the coach is like,

[00:19:59] oh,

[00:19:59] we were too predictable with the Jokic Murray pick and roll with the offense.

[00:20:02] We want to try to show different looks.

[00:20:05] Hey,

[00:20:06] whoever's brilliant idea that was,

[00:20:08] if that's what's going on,

[00:20:09] scrap that shit.

[00:20:10] These guys suck.

[00:20:12] Okay.

[00:20:12] We need some structure out here.

[00:20:14] Like,

[00:20:15] it's fine if you have Shea Gillis,

[00:20:18] Alexander,

[00:20:19] a point guard to be like,

[00:20:20] you know what?

[00:20:21] Let's play a little one-on-one out here.

[00:20:22] If you have Luka,

[00:20:24] fine.

[00:20:25] Guess what?

[00:20:26] We don't.

[00:20:27] Okay.

[00:20:28] Those guys showed that in those minutes tonight,

[00:20:30] that they were playing against mostly backups.

[00:20:35] And they couldn't get into anything resembling offense.

[00:20:41] That has to be humbling at some point.

[00:20:44] And I'm interested to see what it looks like,

[00:20:46] because to me,

[00:20:47] it is,

[00:20:48] that's about as embarrassing as it gets.

[00:20:51] And I,

[00:20:52] I couldn't look Jokic in the eye as his teammate and be like,

[00:20:58] God damn,

[00:20:59] dude,

[00:21:00] like 28,

[00:21:01] 20 and 11 assists.

[00:21:04] And we couldn't even be competitive with this cast.

[00:21:07] Yeah.

[00:21:08] No.

[00:21:09] And the Cavs are good.

[00:21:11] They're not that good though.

[00:21:13] Yeah,

[00:21:14] they are.

[00:21:14] They're not that good.

[00:21:16] They're not,

[00:21:16] they're not that good that you should look hopeless against Sam Morrell.

[00:21:21] You're like,

[00:21:22] Oh God,

[00:21:22] we can't figure out Sam fucking Morrell.

[00:21:25] This guy is six one.

[00:21:28] And can jump over a piece of paper.

[00:21:31] Oh my God.

[00:21:32] Karis Levert on his 20th NBA team.

[00:21:35] Can't figure out how to stop that guy.

[00:21:38] Like,

[00:21:39] it's one thing.

[00:21:40] If Donovan Mitchell,

[00:21:41] Garland and Mobley kill you.

[00:21:43] They're to your point.

[00:21:45] They're why they're where they are.

[00:21:46] And yes,

[00:21:47] I'm not shitting on the Cavs as like a good regular season team.

[00:21:52] And it is absolutely possible to get your ass beat by them.

[00:21:55] But what I'm saying is for the full,

[00:21:58] for the,

[00:21:58] when we tried to get back in that game and make no mistake,

[00:22:02] Malone was not punting it.

[00:22:03] He was trying to cheat it and see if we could get back in and then buy the

[00:22:07] starters a blow with Jokic a little bit and then get them back in to close

[00:22:12] that game and try to win.

[00:22:13] And those guys,

[00:22:15] I mean,

[00:22:18] you couldn't find much worse offense in the NBA this year.

[00:22:25] No,

[00:22:26] I mean,

[00:22:26] it's all been bad though.

[00:22:28] It's like literally everything has been bad.

[00:22:33] Yeah.

[00:22:33] I mean,

[00:22:34] it comes to the backups.

[00:22:36] Like they,

[00:22:36] they haven't played defense.

[00:22:38] The offense has been lackadaisical there.

[00:22:40] They haven't been doing anything well.

[00:22:44] And I was trying to just see,

[00:22:46] I was trying to find his plus my,

[00:22:48] I mean,

[00:22:48] Jokic is like plus 150 or something on the year.

[00:22:53] Just him.

[00:22:54] Yeah.

[00:22:55] I mean,

[00:22:55] he was plus 20 something in the Warriors game.

[00:22:57] Yeah.

[00:22:58] But,

[00:22:59] and I was trying to find like the just season plus minus rankings,

[00:23:03] but I couldn't find it.

[00:23:04] No.

[00:23:05] I mean,

[00:23:05] listen,

[00:23:06] what tonight to me was a turning point for me as a Nuggets fan.

[00:23:12] This season for me is just about enjoying Jokic now.

[00:23:16] There's no expectations.

[00:23:17] There's no anything.

[00:23:19] There's the,

[00:23:22] in those minutes,

[00:23:24] those four starters showed me everything I needed to see.

[00:23:28] That barring some team falling on the trade button.

[00:23:34] Uh,

[00:23:35] and for some reason,

[00:23:36] giving up an unbelievable amount for those guys.

[00:23:41] I,

[00:23:42] I don't see how we would ever be a contender.

[00:23:44] So it's just time to enjoy Jokic and appreciate that greatness.

[00:23:49] And that's what the Nuggets are right now.

[00:23:51] It's the same as the FACO Composso years and Austin rivers.

[00:23:56] And who do you want to trade?

[00:23:58] Who would you give up?

[00:23:59] I mean,

[00:23:59] I want someone to give us a win now player for Porter and or for Murray,

[00:24:05] but I mean,

[00:24:06] who's doing that?

[00:24:08] Who's like,

[00:24:08] Oh,

[00:24:09] the guy who,

[00:24:10] when he was 19,

[00:24:11] his medical history was so bad that the Clippers doctor said he wouldn't play

[00:24:15] in the NBA ever.

[00:24:17] Like,

[00:24:18] Oh,

[00:24:18] I'm signing up for that max deal.

[00:24:21] I'm going to give you someone actually good for that.

[00:24:24] Oh,

[00:24:25] Jamal.

[00:24:26] No,

[00:24:27] I mean,

[00:24:27] it's the NBA.

[00:24:28] So there's always a disgruntled star somewhere.

[00:24:31] Jamal is,

[00:24:32] Jamal has real value.

[00:24:34] I think to who we don't have any all stars.

[00:24:38] We don't have anyone who looks like they know how to dribble.

[00:24:42] But what are you talking about though?

[00:24:44] I'm talking about value that like,

[00:24:46] you might get multiple players that can play for you and play real defense and

[00:24:51] shoot the ball.

[00:24:52] Like who,

[00:24:52] who would give them?

[00:24:54] I don't.

[00:24:54] Well,

[00:24:55] I don't know.

[00:24:55] Like anybody,

[00:24:56] Orlando,

[00:24:57] somebody like one of the Orlando wants to cut into Jalen Suggs.

[00:25:02] No.

[00:25:02] Well,

[00:25:03] Kyle,

[00:25:04] I'm not,

[00:25:04] I I'm literally just throwing things out there.

[00:25:06] I'm saying that there is a team that would talk themselves into that.

[00:25:09] We see it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over

[00:25:13] and over again.

[00:25:14] It happens.

[00:25:15] It just does.

[00:25:15] Teams talk themselves into like James Harden,

[00:25:18] but James Harden has been a multi-time all star.

[00:25:21] James Harden should have been MVP.

[00:25:24] Like James Harden has real regular season success.

[00:25:30] Do you want me to pull?

[00:25:31] Jamal Murray's never made an all star games.

[00:25:33] I know.

[00:25:34] I know.

[00:25:35] I've been watching him too.

[00:25:36] I understand.

[00:25:38] I'm not saying that he's a perfect player.

[00:25:40] I'm saying that he is a good player that somebody will,

[00:25:42] would talk themselves into.

[00:25:44] That's what I'm saying.

[00:25:45] I pray to God they do.

[00:25:47] And quickly.

[00:25:49] Well,

[00:25:50] I mean,

[00:25:51] he like,

[00:25:51] it would take five good games in a row for,

[00:25:54] by him.

[00:25:55] Like,

[00:25:55] because his floor is low,

[00:25:58] is higher than a lot of players.

[00:26:00] And like,

[00:26:01] we're talking a lot of shit about him.

[00:26:03] Like they showed the,

[00:26:05] the,

[00:26:05] uh,

[00:26:06] stats for him versus Donovan Mitchell since the bubble.

[00:26:10] And the only stat that's appreciably better is that Donovan Mitchell scores 26 points a night.

[00:26:15] And I just don't,

[00:26:16] I actually do not think that you can,

[00:26:19] the current version of Jamal Murray.

[00:26:21] I don't know.

[00:26:22] Like we haven't seen that recently,

[00:26:24] but the version of Jamal Murray that was in the finals and played in that regular season.

[00:26:29] I think if he was on the calves of that year,

[00:26:32] yeah,

[00:26:32] he would fucking score 26 points a game.

[00:26:35] Like absolutely.

[00:26:36] Absolutely.

[00:26:36] He would.

[00:26:37] So I think you're,

[00:26:38] you're pissed,

[00:26:40] which is reasonable,

[00:26:40] but I also think you're underestimating that one,

[00:26:43] the stupidity of NBA franchises and two,

[00:26:47] the talent of Jamal Murray.

[00:26:49] Like maybe he is still a good player.

[00:26:51] I hope I,

[00:26:53] good seems strong right now.

[00:26:56] Um,

[00:26:57] he's averaging 19 points a game in the NBA.

[00:27:02] It doesn't look good.

[00:27:03] I'm not telling you it looks good,

[00:27:05] but I'm telling you,

[00:27:05] he's still averaging 19 points on a team that has Nicole Jokic,

[00:27:09] Michael Porter Jr.

[00:27:10] And Aaron Gordon.

[00:27:11] Like,

[00:27:11] yeah,

[00:27:11] we do have other offensive options and he's still putting up 19.

[00:27:15] So if you're telling me that he's shooting a shitty team on a really,

[00:27:19] actually bad team,

[00:27:21] he wouldn't be putting up better numbers.

[00:27:23] I just don't think I believe you.

[00:27:25] Oh,

[00:27:25] I don't think he's built for that.

[00:27:28] Not at this stage.

[00:27:29] And I don't think,

[00:27:31] I,

[00:27:32] I guess to my point,

[00:27:33] I don't know what the,

[00:27:35] I mean,

[00:27:35] you're right.

[00:27:36] Teams talk themselves into all kinds of wild scenarios all the time,

[00:27:39] but I just don't know.

[00:27:42] Cause like,

[00:27:42] we're not going to trade him for something that we don't think makes us

[00:27:46] better.

[00:27:48] And so it almost has to be to a tanking team.

[00:27:52] And I'm just not sure what Jamal Murray gives you like as a tanking team.

[00:27:57] I mean,

[00:27:58] you're not going to win games with him as your best player.

[00:28:03] And then he can score like you can box office it.

[00:28:06] You want,

[00:28:07] yeah,

[00:28:07] that's exactly,

[00:28:08] I'm telling you,

[00:28:09] that's exactly what they're going to tell themselves.

[00:28:11] Oh,

[00:28:12] we can sell some tickets with Jamal Murray scoring 26 points a game and

[00:28:16] we'll lose.

[00:28:17] We will suck because it's going to be the most inefficient,

[00:28:20] highest usage rate,

[00:28:22] double,

[00:28:23] triple,

[00:28:25] repost Jamal in the pot.

[00:28:26] Like what are we taught?

[00:28:28] Yes.

[00:28:28] He could go score 26 points.

[00:28:30] If you run every single play through him,

[00:28:32] it's going to be terrible to watch and you'll lose.

[00:28:36] Masai Ujiri,

[00:28:38] help us.

[00:28:39] Our former brother.

[00:28:41] Come on,

[00:28:42] help us out.

[00:28:43] Give us RJ Barrett for Jamal.

[00:28:46] Well,

[00:28:47] and like,

[00:28:47] yeah,

[00:28:48] you're probably doing a two for one.

[00:28:50] Like you cut,

[00:28:51] you'd have to make the salaries match.

[00:28:53] So like you're getting two players,

[00:28:55] hopefully.

[00:28:56] Like I,

[00:28:56] I think it's,

[00:28:57] yeah,

[00:28:58] RJ's maxed now too,

[00:28:59] isn't he though?

[00:29:00] I think they maxed.

[00:29:01] I don't know.

[00:29:01] I don't know if I'd want RJ Barrett.

[00:29:03] I would rather have RJ Barrett than Jamal Murray.

[00:29:06] I'll tell you that right now.

[00:29:07] Well,

[00:29:08] the,

[00:29:08] the sneaky part about Jamal is that I think the thing that made him elite,

[00:29:16] is the fact that he could shoot the three off of the Nicole Jokic pick and roll.

[00:29:22] Like that's not that fucking hard.

[00:29:26] Like if you're a really,

[00:29:27] if you're a pretty good NBA player,

[00:29:30] you're going to be wide open because the seven foot one man rolling to the basket is about to be the four time MVP of the NBA.

[00:29:38] So you're going to be pretty fucking open.

[00:29:41] Maybe you should shoot the ball.

[00:29:43] Like Russ looks really good next to the goalie.

[00:29:46] Yes.

[00:29:47] Because he's Russell fucking Westbrook.

[00:29:50] Like he's really good at basketball.

[00:29:52] I just do not understand.

[00:29:55] Like,

[00:29:56] I,

[00:29:57] it,

[00:29:58] it actually infuriates me.

[00:30:00] And everybody talks about these.

[00:30:02] This is sort of a tangent,

[00:30:03] but I'll try to make it all make sense.

[00:30:06] Everybody talks about how we let go of Brown and all these tertiary players and how Kroenke's cheap and all this shit.

[00:30:14] Kroenke is cheap,

[00:30:15] but that is not,

[00:30:16] you cannot point to those things and say he's cheap.

[00:30:19] Look at the people's stats that we let go.

[00:30:24] Are they lighting it the fuck up?

[00:30:26] Bruce Brown has been on three teams since we traded him.

[00:30:30] He hasn't been good for anybody else.

[00:30:33] It is Nikola Jokic.

[00:30:37] It is Nikola Jokic.

[00:30:39] What the fuck are we talking about?

[00:30:41] Put anybody with half a brain who wants to play good basketball around him and he will make them good.

[00:30:49] So,

[00:30:50] I just don't understand the like,

[00:30:53] I don't,

[00:30:53] I would take 50 cents on the fucking dollar if we could have somebody in those positions that would just do the right thing and look motivated to want to win basketball games.

[00:31:04] Yep.

[00:31:05] I think,

[00:31:05] I think that's a good place to end that conversation.

[00:31:07] I think you're a hundred percent right that the Nuggets can always kind of,

[00:31:15] if you can find someone dumb and they're kind of like,

[00:31:18] well,

[00:31:18] I mean,

[00:31:18] Jamal's averaging 18 there or,

[00:31:21] you know,

[00:31:21] Oh,

[00:31:21] Porter,

[00:31:22] he had 23 tonight.

[00:31:23] You know what I mean?

[00:31:23] Like the stats,

[00:31:25] the Jokic bump is going to be so real.

[00:31:27] When I was watching some YouTube video this morning,

[00:31:31] but when I was basking in the happiness of the Warriors and just everyone saying all the good things about Jokic,

[00:31:37] and it was a bunch of former teammates.

[00:31:39] And it was so funny because so many of those guys are no longer in the NBA.

[00:31:45] And you're just like,

[00:31:46] wow,

[00:31:47] you like scored double digits for us a night.

[00:31:50] And like,

[00:31:51] I remember being like,

[00:31:54] wow,

[00:31:55] dude,

[00:31:55] like,

[00:31:56] I,

[00:31:56] I think PJ Dozier is going to be in this league for a long time.

[00:31:59] Like he's in Serbia.

[00:32:02] Like I remember when Marcus Howard went down,

[00:32:05] I was like,

[00:32:05] that really hurts us,

[00:32:06] man.

[00:32:07] And you're just,

[00:32:09] so I do think that one,

[00:32:12] the league is a little bit onto it.

[00:32:14] And two,

[00:32:17] it,

[00:32:18] it does feel like there's something off with the vibes of the team.

[00:32:23] And I,

[00:32:24] it's stupid to pinpoint or point a finger or do whatever,

[00:32:28] but there's something off.

[00:32:30] And for some reason,

[00:32:32] something is off,

[00:32:33] whatever it is,

[00:32:34] we gotta,

[00:32:35] we gotta have,

[00:32:36] uh,

[00:32:36] I,

[00:32:36] I've been,

[00:32:37] uh,

[00:32:38] playing Ted Lasso in the background to try to make myself happy.

[00:32:42] Uh,

[00:32:43] season one.

[00:32:44] And there,

[00:32:45] the,

[00:32:45] we need to have the Roy Kent,

[00:32:47] uh,

[00:32:48] and,

[00:32:49] uh,

[00:32:50] Jamie Tart at the,

[00:32:51] uh,

[00:32:52] auction.

[00:32:52] We need to have,

[00:32:53] everybody sits down at the table.

[00:32:55] It's like,

[00:32:55] you tell me why I suck.

[00:32:57] I'll tell you why you suck.

[00:32:59] Let's talk it out out here.

[00:33:00] And let's,

[00:33:01] let's get this going.

[00:33:01] Cause the,

[00:33:04] the other thing,

[00:33:05] the last point I want to make is the other part that was a joyful part about experiencing the nuggets is that everyone really seemed to like each other.

[00:33:17] Like the championship year.

[00:33:19] I remember they were,

[00:33:20] someone asked Gordon about the grind and he was like,

[00:33:22] no grind over here.

[00:33:23] He's like,

[00:33:24] we let everybody else grind.

[00:33:25] He's like,

[00:33:25] it's all fun over here.

[00:33:26] Like it's easy.

[00:33:28] They also did a stat,

[00:33:29] which doesn't feel like it would be impactful.

[00:33:31] But then when you think about it,

[00:33:32] you're like,

[00:33:33] ah,

[00:33:33] it does make sense.

[00:33:34] And it just talked about like amount of like high fives,

[00:33:39] hugs,

[00:33:40] butt taps,

[00:33:40] all that,

[00:33:41] like con teammate contact.

[00:33:42] Yeah.

[00:33:43] And the nuggets led the league by a fucking mile the year when they won.

[00:33:48] And so it just was like such a connected,

[00:33:50] such a same goal,

[00:33:52] same thing.

[00:33:53] And right now I don't know what's going on.

[00:33:55] I don't know if it's guys trying to prove themselves,

[00:33:57] because people,

[00:33:58] you know,

[00:33:59] have been talking shit on them or trying to earn money or trying to not

[00:34:03] sure in their role and trying to balance it.

[00:34:05] I don't know what it is,

[00:34:07] but the vibes are very off and it doesn't feel like everyone's pulling in

[00:34:10] the same direction.

[00:34:11] Like even the FACU years,

[00:34:13] it felt like everyone was pulling in the same direction.

[00:34:16] They just did,

[00:34:17] weren't good enough at basketball for it to matter.

[00:34:20] Like it was like,

[00:34:21] ah,

[00:34:21] yeah,

[00:34:22] like we all,

[00:34:22] you got a good shot for FACU or Austin rivers or Boogie cousins.

[00:34:26] Like they just missed it.

[00:34:28] Chucks.

[00:34:29] Like that's all that was.

[00:34:32] Um,

[00:34:34] but the,

[00:34:34] yeah,

[00:34:35] the vibes are off and it's not as fun to watch,

[00:34:37] um,

[00:34:38] which is a real bummer.

[00:34:39] Do you,

[00:34:40] uh,

[00:34:40] just so we can end on a positive note,

[00:34:42] do you know who is second in the league in three point field goal percentage?

[00:34:49] Uh,

[00:34:54] okay.

[00:34:54] Well,

[00:34:55] I'm assuming it's a nugget.

[00:34:57] Um,

[00:34:58] you are correct.

[00:34:59] And I'm assuming it's not yogis cause you have to be first,

[00:35:02] right?

[00:35:03] No,

[00:35:04] he's first or he's second in the league.

[00:35:06] Who's shooting above 52% and what's the minimum attempts?

[00:35:10] Torian Prince.

[00:35:12] Uh,

[00:35:13] yeah,

[00:35:14] he's always kind of sneaky,

[00:35:15] been a knockdown guy.

[00:35:17] Dude,

[00:35:18] he's lighting it up.

[00:35:19] He's taken 81 threes and is shooting 55%.

[00:35:22] Go ahead.

[00:35:22] Torian.

[00:35:23] Yep.

[00:35:24] Hats off to Torian Prince.

[00:35:25] He's taken 69.

[00:35:26] Nice.

[00:35:27] Uh,

[00:35:28] and is at 52%.

[00:35:30] You'll get,

[00:35:30] by the way,

[00:35:31] he will still,

[00:35:32] you talked about his half court heave that he will throw up shit from anywhere.

[00:35:38] Yeah.

[00:35:38] That's the other part that it just doesn't make sense to me.

[00:35:42] Like so many yogis highlights are the Sombor shuffle and him at the end of the shot clock,

[00:35:46] just throwing threes in the ocean.

[00:35:48] And we're like,

[00:35:49] nah,

[00:35:50] we'd rather take contested 15 footers.

[00:35:53] I'm like,

[00:35:53] Hey,

[00:35:54] there's nine seconds left.

[00:35:55] Let's just get it to yogis.

[00:35:56] All right.

[00:35:56] I I'm getting back into negativity.

[00:35:58] You're right.

[00:35:58] Yogis.

[00:35:59] Congratulations on second.

[00:36:01] Congrats to you,

[00:36:02] Torian Prince.

[00:36:02] I hope you're part of a trade that we do upcoming.

[00:36:05] Uh,

[00:36:05] uh,

[00:36:07] Yogis stats are unbelievable.

[00:36:09] It's so stupid,

[00:36:10] man.

[00:36:11] I hope everybody got in on,

[00:36:13] uh,

[00:36:14] the bet that I gave out a couple of weeks ago when Yogis was plus four 50 for the,

[00:36:22] uh,

[00:36:23] MVP.

[00:36:23] Cause he is now plus one 40.

[00:36:25] Uh,

[00:36:26] I just don't know if we're going to win enough games,

[00:36:28] man.

[00:36:28] It's,

[00:36:29] I don't think it matters,

[00:36:30] dude.

[00:36:31] I and the wear down the league.

[00:36:33] That's everybody in the league is just like,

[00:36:35] I mean,

[00:36:36] what are you going to say?

[00:36:37] And really like there've been so many kind of untimely injuries that I,

[00:36:41] I think if he stays healthy,

[00:36:43] he's going to win it by mile.

[00:36:45] Yeah.

[00:36:45] Fingers crossed.

[00:36:46] We could end up in the play in and I think he's going to win the MVP.

[00:36:49] Good Lord.

[00:36:52] All right.

[00:36:53] Now let's get to the happier waters of the Denver Broncos.

[00:36:56] Uh,

[00:36:57] Dan,

[00:36:58] we sent Dan,

[00:36:58] the man in to the game to ensure that the Broncos did not blow the game.

[00:37:04] Uh,

[00:37:05] they sure,

[00:37:06] sure tried out there.

[00:37:08] Um,

[00:37:10] as long as we're on the negative train,

[00:37:12] let's just stay on it for a second here.

[00:37:14] How bad are the corners after Pat Sertain and Riley Moss?

[00:37:20] Holy and shit.

[00:37:22] Levi Wallace.

[00:37:23] What a performance for my man there.

[00:37:27] Um,

[00:37:27] that was something to behold.

[00:37:29] Wearing white sleeves just so that you might think he's why Riley Moss out there.

[00:37:35] Put platforms in your shoes.

[00:37:36] Something,

[00:37:37] man.

[00:37:38] I mean,

[00:37:38] when you are that short and that slow,

[00:37:43] it's puzzling for sure.

[00:37:46] Um,

[00:37:47] so the cornerback situation,

[00:37:49] uh,

[00:37:50] I think Riley Moss should be back after the,

[00:37:53] um,

[00:37:54] um,

[00:37:54] break,

[00:37:55] but it does are after the buy this week.

[00:37:57] Um,

[00:37:58] but that I would say that was a negative.

[00:38:00] And then I was kind of surprised near the end of the game.

[00:38:03] They started to get some pressure.

[00:38:04] And I know that the Browns have a very good offensive line,

[00:38:07] but I was kind of surprised by,

[00:38:10] um,

[00:38:10] um,

[00:38:10] um,

[00:38:11] the lack of consistent pressure from this,

[00:38:13] um,

[00:38:14] Broncos defense.

[00:38:16] And,

[00:38:16] uh,

[00:38:17] I,

[00:38:17] I think that also opened some things up for some of those bigger plays where,

[00:38:21] um,

[00:38:22] maybe also some of the secondary has been getting helped out by the fact that

[00:38:26] Zach Allen and Benito and those guys are just pushing up middle so quick

[00:38:33] that like the quarterback doesn't have time to see that Levi Wallace has

[00:38:36] fallen down again.

[00:38:37] Um,

[00:38:39] and,

[00:38:39] but those were kind of my two,

[00:38:42] uh,

[00:38:43] if I had knits to pick,

[00:38:44] I suppose,

[00:38:45] those would be my two knits.

[00:38:47] Did you have any other,

[00:38:48] uh,

[00:38:49] might things to put in the minus category in the Broncos Monday night victory?

[00:38:54] Uh,

[00:38:55] bonus didn't run enough.

[00:38:57] Yeah.

[00:38:58] It does feel like maybe they told him,

[00:39:00] which I get like,

[00:39:03] they were like,

[00:39:03] Hey dude,

[00:39:04] you're taking off first a little bit here.

[00:39:06] Right.

[00:39:07] And Sean Payton is notoriously a dictator about timing and like the ball's got to

[00:39:13] come out when it comes out.

[00:39:14] Like,

[00:39:16] so talk about him for a second.

[00:39:18] Yeah,

[00:39:18] we sure can.

[00:39:18] He's been,

[00:39:19] he's been getting his,

[00:39:20] his knob slobbed by a lot of the national media recently.

[00:39:24] Yeah.

[00:39:24] Cause he's friends with all of them.

[00:39:26] We'll go on their show.

[00:39:29] I,

[00:39:30] I just don't know.

[00:39:31] Like,

[00:39:34] I don't know that he's doing anything groundbreaking.

[00:39:37] Like,

[00:39:38] like I think Bo Nix is pretty good.

[00:39:40] And I think the defense is outperforming its projection.

[00:39:43] So I,

[00:39:44] I just don't,

[00:39:45] I don't know that he deserves it.

[00:39:48] I think we are above expectation for,

[00:39:56] um,

[00:39:57] but even then,

[00:39:58] like we were kind of a sleeper team for a lot of people coming in.

[00:40:01] Um,

[00:40:02] you and I weren't as bought into the like sleeper team notion as,

[00:40:07] as others.

[00:40:07] But,

[00:40:07] um,

[00:40:09] I do agree with you in terms of like,

[00:40:11] we're one in five versus teams over 500.

[00:40:14] Like basically if you're good,

[00:40:16] you beat our ass and we'll see what happens here.

[00:40:21] Um,

[00:40:22] obviously coming off of,

[00:40:23] uh,

[00:40:24] the buy,

[00:40:25] um,

[00:40:26] because we,

[00:40:26] we're going to play some good teams.

[00:40:28] Um,

[00:40:29] are you,

[00:40:29] are you guys,

[00:40:30] I mean,

[00:40:30] we should start talking about it now.

[00:40:32] We are going to this Colts game.

[00:40:34] Yeah.

[00:40:35] Yep.

[00:40:36] It's,

[00:40:37] I'm happy for it.

[00:40:39] And I,

[00:40:42] I do think that should be a W.

[00:40:45] How early,

[00:40:47] what,

[00:40:47] what's the time of that game?

[00:40:50] I think it's a two o'clock or most of them here,

[00:40:53] unless their prime time are there.

[00:40:55] Yeah.

[00:40:56] So that's great news.

[00:40:58] Yeah.

[00:40:58] So we're going to win that one,

[00:41:00] but,

[00:41:00] um,

[00:41:01] positives.

[00:41:02] You feel confident.

[00:41:03] I,

[00:41:04] I mean,

[00:41:04] as confident as I can be,

[00:41:06] I'm sure I'll get nervous as we get closer.

[00:41:08] Um,

[00:41:08] the Colts have a buy as well,

[00:41:10] but,

[00:41:10] two 30.

[00:41:12] Um,

[00:41:12] but I just,

[00:41:15] I did like some of the big play stuff that I saw from Bo.

[00:41:20] It felt like he was intentionally pushing the field ball downfield.

[00:41:24] Um,

[00:41:25] probably cause he's a big listener to the podcast and he,

[00:41:28] the playbook is definitely more open.

[00:41:30] Like,

[00:41:31] but it also just felt like a conscious choice from Bo to like,

[00:41:36] be like,

[00:41:37] okay,

[00:41:37] I could make this four yard completion right now,

[00:41:42] but I'm going to try to push this down the field and I'm going to try to open things up.

[00:41:47] And I thought that was well done against an injured team.

[00:41:51] Um,

[00:41:54] um,

[00:41:54] I think it showed you that maybe the consistent ball movement wasn't there as much.

[00:42:02] Like there were some drives where,

[00:42:04] you know,

[00:42:04] we tried to go deep on a third and one or something and it didn't go and you punt and you're like,

[00:42:11] shoot.

[00:42:12] Um,

[00:42:12] but the points were so much more kind of explosive and it felt more dangerous.

[00:42:22] Every time we stepped on the field of like,

[00:42:23] Hey,

[00:42:24] we might just score here in 30 seconds.

[00:42:26] And then you go from down seven to down 14 real quick.

[00:42:30] And that,

[00:42:30] so that was fun as a fan to watch that.

[00:42:33] And I wish he would stop throwing them to Troy Franklin.

[00:42:37] Like,

[00:42:38] I know he's got the Oregon connection with him,

[00:42:40] but Jesus Christ,

[00:42:41] that guy is,

[00:42:42] uh,

[00:42:43] he's had a tough run these past couple.

[00:42:45] It is wild to me.

[00:42:47] Like you have Valey who the coach is like,

[00:42:52] he's,

[00:42:53] he's a young,

[00:42:54] uh,

[00:42:55] Oh,

[00:42:56] who was,

[00:42:56] who did he compare him to from,

[00:42:57] uh,

[00:42:58] the saints that used to just,

[00:43:00] uh,

[00:43:01] Marquise Colston.

[00:43:02] He's like,

[00:43:03] he's a young Colston.

[00:43:04] Then you got Cortland Sutton out here,

[00:43:06] lighting everybody up.

[00:43:08] then you have Mims where we're getting him in speed packages.

[00:43:12] And every,

[00:43:13] anytime there's an opportunity to throw a 50 yards downfield,

[00:43:17] Bo Nix,

[00:43:18] which by the way,

[00:43:19] I think we should give him credit that he's a true friend.

[00:43:21] He's like,

[00:43:22] Troy,

[00:43:22] I know you are too stupid to run any route that is not in a straight line.

[00:43:27] So we're calling play action,

[00:43:30] run in a straight line as fast as you can.

[00:43:32] Swear to God,

[00:43:33] I'm throwing it to you.

[00:43:36] It is unbelievable.

[00:43:38] Um,

[00:43:39] yeah,

[00:43:39] that was bad advice.

[00:43:40] I think we should stop taking draft advice from Bo Nix.

[00:43:44] No,

[00:43:45] I think it was Bo Nix's mom.

[00:43:46] She was like,

[00:43:48] she was like,

[00:43:49] Hey dude,

[00:43:49] when he lived with us,

[00:43:50] he seemed very fast to me.

[00:43:52] Um,

[00:43:53] you know,

[00:43:54] it's part of the family interview.

[00:43:56] Uh,

[00:43:57] but yeah,

[00:43:58] the Broncos,

[00:43:59] it was hard to have a better week.

[00:44:02] Um,

[00:44:03] I guess the Colts coming back against the Patriots,

[00:44:06] which is not a sentence I expected to have to say going into that weekend.

[00:44:11] Um,

[00:44:12] what a gritty comeback from Anthony Richardson and the boys over Drake May.

[00:44:19] Um,

[00:44:22] but other than that,

[00:44:23] the Bengals lost,

[00:44:24] the Dolphins lost,

[00:44:27] um,

[00:44:29] and the Broncos won.

[00:44:31] It is,

[00:44:32] uh,

[00:44:33] about as good as it could go as far as wild card.

[00:44:36] Um,

[00:44:37] you beat the Colts and you are,

[00:44:42] uh,

[00:44:42] pretty good.

[00:44:43] You're getting pretty close to,

[00:44:45] to locking things up there.

[00:44:48] Um,

[00:44:50] and the closer you can come to locking things up,

[00:44:52] the less likely it becomes the Joe Burrow plays versus you,

[00:44:57] which will then make it easier,

[00:44:59] um,

[00:45:00] to,

[00:45:01] to handle.

[00:45:02] So,

[00:45:02] and it's,

[00:45:03] well,

[00:45:03] and you,

[00:45:04] you were kind of cheering for the chiefs too,

[00:45:06] because,

[00:45:07] you know,

[00:45:07] if things came down to a week 18,

[00:45:10] we want that game to not matter.

[00:45:11] Oh yeah.

[00:45:12] No.

[00:45:12] Well,

[00:45:13] and I mean,

[00:45:15] sneakily or not so sneakily,

[00:45:18] you would,

[00:45:21] I can't believe I'm even getting this greedy,

[00:45:23] but if there's a way to get out of the seven seed and avoid Buffalo,

[00:45:29] uh,

[00:45:30] you are absolutely trying to do that.

[00:45:33] And even though I know it would hurt my family,

[00:45:36] feelings and I'd be very sad about it.

[00:45:39] Uh,

[00:45:40] yeah,

[00:45:41] we'll,

[00:45:42] we'll take Pittsburgh.

[00:45:43] You can come.

[00:45:45] We'll,

[00:45:45] we'll go,

[00:45:45] we'll go to you.

[00:45:47] We'll go to you.

[00:45:48] If we could knock Russell Wilson out of the playoffs.

[00:45:53] Oh,

[00:45:54] I went the complete opposite way there.

[00:45:57] That's why I don't think that will happen.

[00:45:59] And that's why I think I'll be sad,

[00:46:01] but the opportunity to do that would give me so much joy.

[00:46:07] And I wouldn't feel like,

[00:46:11] uh,

[00:46:11] a bad person because obviously the goal of every team in the NFL right now is to

[00:46:17] just not let the chiefs somehow butthole their way into a back to back

[00:46:22] championship.

[00:46:24] Um,

[00:46:25] and so if we somehow miracle beat the bills,

[00:46:29] I'd be like,

[00:46:29] ah,

[00:46:30] man,

[00:46:30] we took out a good team there.

[00:46:32] That's a bummer.

[00:46:33] I don't feel that way.

[00:46:34] If we,

[00:46:34] if we take out the Steelers,

[00:46:36] I'm like,

[00:46:36] ah,

[00:46:37] this is butthole central for my homes and the boys.

[00:46:41] Uh,

[00:46:42] if they got to see a Russell Wilson,

[00:46:44] Andy Reed might never stop laughing.

[00:46:46] If he's like,

[00:46:47] wait,

[00:46:47] to go to my Superbowl,

[00:46:48] I have to be Russell Wilson.

[00:46:50] Holy shit.

[00:46:52] Um,

[00:46:53] so yeah.

[00:46:57] Wow.

[00:46:58] I can't believe you're,

[00:46:59] I didn't even consider that we wouldn't have to play.

[00:47:02] Listen,

[00:47:03] all I'm saying is when Baltimore,

[00:47:05] Baltimore lost again,

[00:47:06] I was like,

[00:47:08] um,

[00:47:09] I know they're light years better than us,

[00:47:11] but well,

[00:47:13] the chargers are right.

[00:47:14] Yeah.

[00:47:15] And they have to play the chiefs this week.

[00:47:17] Yeah.

[00:47:17] That's crazy.

[00:47:18] It's,

[00:47:19] it's pretty wild.

[00:47:20] It's pretty wild.

[00:47:22] I mean,

[00:47:23] it's,

[00:47:23] it's also wild.

[00:47:24] Like when you look at the playoff probability,

[00:47:26] I'm just on the NFL.com,

[00:47:29] but the Broncos are 78%.

[00:47:32] Uh,

[00:47:33] and the Colts are 24%.

[00:47:35] So that's basically just saying like the game that we're going to is for the

[00:47:39] playoffs.

[00:47:40] And then,

[00:47:41] uh,

[00:47:43] but the chargers and the Ravens are 99 and 97%.

[00:47:47] Yeah.

[00:47:47] So we're the only real bubble team in the AFC at all.

[00:47:51] Yeah.

[00:47:51] Uh,

[00:47:52] so it's,

[00:47:54] it's a good place to be in that,

[00:47:57] you know,

[00:47:57] you control your own destiny.

[00:47:58] You don't need anybody's help.

[00:48:00] Uh,

[00:48:01] all those sorts of things,

[00:48:02] but man,

[00:48:03] I hadn't even thought about.

[00:48:05] Yeah.

[00:48:06] We could get to the five.

[00:48:09] I mean,

[00:48:10] who would you rather play though?

[00:48:12] Would you rather play,

[00:48:14] would you rather go to Houston or to Pittsburgh?

[00:48:18] Houston?

[00:48:19] I think,

[00:48:19] I think I'd rather play Pittsburgh.

[00:48:23] Houston's.

[00:48:24] I think when,

[00:48:25] I think those Houston wide receivers have been banged up and I think,

[00:48:29] uh,

[00:48:29] when they get going and I think D'Amico Ryan's running that defense against us.

[00:48:34] Well,

[00:48:34] the real problem is I don't think,

[00:48:36] I think the Ravens are going to get ahead of the Texans.

[00:48:41] So then the Tex,

[00:48:42] the Ravens might be sitting in that four and you do not want to play the Ravens at home.

[00:48:46] But I,

[00:48:47] Oh no,

[00:48:47] no,

[00:48:47] no.

[00:48:48] Good.

[00:48:48] God,

[00:48:49] no.

[00:48:49] You talk about a sad ending.

[00:48:51] Um,

[00:48:52] man,

[00:48:53] that they might hang 70 points on this pocket.

[00:48:56] You know,

[00:48:57] you know,

[00:48:58] would be,

[00:48:59] um,

[00:49:00] if we have to play the Ravens in the playoffs,

[00:49:02] the only thing I'm going to do is,

[00:49:05] uh,

[00:49:06] I'm going to,

[00:49:07] uh,

[00:49:08] not myself.

[00:49:08] I'm going to assign producer Dan to it,

[00:49:10] uh,

[00:49:11] to find all of the mega Broncos fans and just watch their devolving tweets as Lamar rails us out of the playoffs.

[00:49:22] It's going to be,

[00:49:24] uh,

[00:49:24] one of the funniest things to watch.

[00:49:28] Uh,

[00:49:29] hopefully funny,

[00:49:30] not,

[00:49:30] uh,

[00:49:31] not super sad,

[00:49:32] but,

[00:49:33] um,

[00:49:33] it's crazy.

[00:49:34] Yeah.

[00:49:34] We want no parts of the Ravens,

[00:49:36] but I think,

[00:49:37] isn't it in the playoffs that you don't get home field,

[00:49:40] but you have to be,

[00:49:42] but,

[00:49:42] or like you automatically get home field.

[00:49:45] If you win your division.

[00:49:49] Uh,

[00:49:50] I don't think they're going to win the division,

[00:49:52] but maybe,

[00:49:52] I don't know.

[00:49:53] I mean,

[00:49:53] the Texans are winning the AFC South.

[00:49:56] It's not an accomplishment,

[00:49:57] but they're going to do it.

[00:50:00] Yeah.

[00:50:00] Yeah.

[00:50:01] You're right.

[00:50:02] I don't know.

[00:50:03] Yeah.

[00:50:05] Uh,

[00:50:06] but it's,

[00:50:07] I mean,

[00:50:08] if we could play,

[00:50:10] if we could play the Steelers in that three,

[00:50:16] six,

[00:50:17] and then potentially,

[00:50:18] who would we go to with Arrowhead?

[00:50:20] I mean,

[00:50:21] we'd be the lowest seed imaginable probably at that point.

[00:50:24] Right.

[00:50:24] The Bills,

[00:50:25] whoever,

[00:50:26] the,

[00:50:26] would end up with one.

[00:50:30] What if freaking,

[00:50:32] the Ravens end up in free fall a little bit,

[00:50:34] and,

[00:50:35] uh,

[00:50:35] Josh Allen and the Bills tortured fan base has to play Lamar at home.

[00:50:40] Play Lamar.

[00:50:41] That,

[00:50:42] wait,

[00:50:42] that's actually the perfect outcome.

[00:50:44] That's going to happen.

[00:50:45] Oh my gosh.

[00:50:46] Don't the Ravens have a hard schedule?

[00:50:48] Yeah.

[00:50:48] It's,

[00:50:49] I mean,

[00:50:49] the,

[00:50:49] the,

[00:50:50] I mean,

[00:50:51] people talk about the NFC North,

[00:50:53] um,

[00:50:53] because of tonight,

[00:50:54] but like the AFC North is equally like,

[00:51:00] just cause like,

[00:51:00] even though Cincinnati and Cleveland are bad record wise,

[00:51:03] they still just have a lot of talent and all those teams hate each other so much that they constantly get up for the game.

[00:51:14] Yeah.

[00:51:15] Let's see what their remaining schedule is.

[00:51:18] Uh,

[00:51:19] so we got giants this week.

[00:51:22] That's a win.

[00:51:24] Uh,

[00:51:25] Steelers,

[00:51:26] Texans,

[00:51:26] Browns.

[00:51:29] Eh,

[00:51:30] that didn't feel free folly.

[00:51:34] No,

[00:51:35] I mean,

[00:51:36] if they lose to the giants,

[00:51:37] it's definitely a free folly.

[00:51:38] Oh,

[00:51:39] good Lord.

[00:51:40] It was,

[00:51:41] I mean,

[00:51:44] yeah,

[00:51:44] that's an embarrassing one.

[00:51:46] Yeah.

[00:51:47] The Steelers,

[00:51:48] they could lose Texans.

[00:51:52] Maybe.

[00:51:52] I mean,

[00:51:53] if they're fighting for a playoff spot with them and then the Browns,

[00:51:58] just a divisional game to ruin the,

[00:52:00] to put the Ravens into the seven seed.

[00:52:05] It'd be funny.

[00:52:07] Jameis,

[00:52:07] famous Jameis.

[00:52:08] Jameis.

[00:52:09] Jameis.

[00:52:09] Jameis,

[00:52:10] man.

[00:52:11] That guy.

[00:52:12] What a delight.

[00:52:15] I don't know.

[00:52:17] I don't,

[00:52:17] uh,

[00:52:18] I think it's more realistic that we're really looking forward to betting against the Broncos.

[00:52:23] Right?

[00:52:25] What?

[00:52:26] Uh,

[00:52:27] let's,

[00:52:28] let's do an imaginary look ahead line.

[00:52:30] Let's say the bills stay in the two.

[00:52:33] Um,

[00:52:34] the Broncos are the seven.

[00:52:35] We're going to Buffalo.

[00:52:38] Uh,

[00:52:38] we're going to assume not crazy inclement weather.

[00:52:41] Like it's cold.

[00:52:42] Um,

[00:52:43] but nothing crazy wind wise,

[00:52:45] nothing crazy snow wise.

[00:52:46] Uh,

[00:52:47] what do you think the line or if,

[00:52:49] if Vegas came to you and they said,

[00:52:51] set it seven and a half.

[00:52:58] That feels right.

[00:52:59] And I'd still,

[00:53:02] I'd bang the bill.

[00:53:05] Um,

[00:53:06] it feels like it opens at seven and a half and then it's like Tuesday morning and it's nine and a half.

[00:53:12] And you're like,

[00:53:12] what the hell happened?

[00:53:13] Yeah.

[00:53:14] Every sharp imaginable came in is what happened.

[00:53:17] Yeah.

[00:53:18] Yeah.

[00:53:18] They took a million dollars on the bills and decided to move the line.

[00:53:24] get some buyback.

[00:53:26] I think the bills are filthy.

[00:53:29] Uh,

[00:53:30] they are.

[00:53:30] They're kind of good,

[00:53:32] man.

[00:53:33] I don't know.

[00:53:35] It's the AFC is weird.

[00:53:38] Who would you pick right now to come out of the AFC?

[00:53:42] Or just what's your Superbowl pick right now?

[00:53:45] Uh,

[00:53:45] I mean,

[00:53:45] I'd take the lions.

[00:53:47] Um,

[00:53:48] I think they,

[00:53:50] tonight they didn't a hundred percent,

[00:53:53] but they're pretty close to a locking up that one seed.

[00:53:58] And if they can keep Jared Goff in a dome,

[00:54:02] the whole playoffs,

[00:54:05] that is a problem for people.

[00:54:08] Um,

[00:54:09] but it's the NFL.

[00:54:11] So if you're the best team all season,

[00:54:13] it almost guarantees you won't get to go to the Superbowl.

[00:54:15] Um,

[00:54:17] and then in the AFC,

[00:54:19] um,

[00:54:23] I think I'd take the bills.

[00:54:28] Yeah.

[00:54:29] Which I'm pretty sure this was my preseason prediction.

[00:54:32] So I,

[00:54:36] I had lions chiefs,

[00:54:37] which is the second thing,

[00:54:39] because apparently God has kissed Andy Reed.

[00:54:44] Um,

[00:54:46] and he,

[00:54:47] he just now can't stop winning close games.

[00:54:51] All the times that people remember when the personal life is like Job.

[00:54:56] Yeah.

[00:54:56] Professional life.

[00:54:58] That is true.

[00:54:59] A shining example of what you'd want it to be.

[00:55:02] But remember when like the Eagles and like early chiefs teams would be were like,

[00:55:08] Andy Reed doesn't know how to win in the playoffs.

[00:55:10] Burp,

[00:55:11] burp,

[00:55:11] burp.

[00:55:12] Like it's like this Yoke,

[00:55:14] it's takes early.

[00:55:15] That's just age.

[00:55:15] So stupid.

[00:55:16] Like everyone who watched the games was like,

[00:55:18] 90.

[00:55:19] Reed is brilliant,

[00:55:20] man.

[00:55:20] Like,

[00:55:21] I don't know exactly what happens on any given Sunday.

[00:55:24] Like why he hasn't done this,

[00:55:25] but Andy Reed is awesome at coaching.

[00:55:27] He's been the smartest mind for forever.

[00:55:29] Um,

[00:55:30] I,

[00:55:31] I think I would,

[00:55:32] I would stick with my pick if I,

[00:55:35] but if I had to change both of them,

[00:55:38] the bills are definitely my second AFC team.

[00:55:41] And I think I would go Eagles right now.

[00:55:44] Uh,

[00:55:46] the way Saquon is playing,

[00:55:49] uh,

[00:55:51] it's,

[00:55:52] he could go into a dome and just run for 255 yards of the playoff game.

[00:55:57] And I wouldn't be that shocked.

[00:55:59] No,

[00:56:00] he's terrifying.

[00:56:01] The part that's terrifying to me is Jalen hurts.

[00:56:03] I just don't believe in that guy throwing forward passes at all.

[00:56:08] Like AJ Brown is,

[00:56:09] what do you think?

[00:56:11] Like,

[00:56:12] it's hard to say,

[00:56:13] you know,

[00:56:13] like what would a Josh Allen do in that offense?

[00:56:16] But my God,

[00:56:17] I think they'd win like five Superbowls in a row.

[00:56:20] If you just switched hurts and Allen.

[00:56:23] Oh God.

[00:56:25] Good God,

[00:56:26] Ryan.

[00:56:28] And it doesn't help that,

[00:56:30] uh,

[00:56:30] apparently Jalen hurts and Nick Sirianni hate each other.

[00:56:32] So we haven't forgotten about those reports.

[00:56:36] So it's not fun when you don't speak to your head coach.

[00:56:39] That's usually not a good thing.

[00:56:40] Um,

[00:56:42] all right,

[00:56:42] let's get into these picks here.

[00:56:44] Um,

[00:56:44] congrats to the Broncos though,

[00:56:45] by the way,

[00:56:46] overall great vibes and much deserved by week.

[00:56:49] Um,

[00:56:50] I can't believe we made it here.

[00:56:52] It feels felt,

[00:56:53] felt like it would never come,

[00:56:54] but here it is.

[00:56:55] Um,

[00:56:57] all right,

[00:56:58] Ryan,

[00:56:58] I am on an absolute tear here.

[00:57:01] Uh,

[00:57:02] another two in one week for me.

[00:57:04] I'll lead us out the gates.

[00:57:07] Um,

[00:57:11] I personally don't think I'm going to have another losing week.

[00:57:14] It just doesn't feel like something I'm interested in doing.

[00:57:19] First pick.

[00:57:21] We are just going to take the Tampa Bay Buccaneers minus six and a half.

[00:57:26] Um,

[00:57:27] I think this Raiders team has truly got awful.

[00:57:30] I think the fact that they found a way to lose that Chiefs game.

[00:57:37] Like just when you think that the Broncos Raiders rivalry is dead,

[00:57:42] the Broncos were like,

[00:57:43] we're going to lose the Chiefs in the stupidest way possible.

[00:57:46] And the Raiders came in and was like,

[00:57:48] the hell you are.

[00:57:51] And fucking fumbled it.

[00:57:55] While in field goal range.

[00:57:58] What a bunch of idiots.

[00:58:00] I couldn't have imagined a dumber way to lose.

[00:58:03] Um,

[00:58:04] I think this team,

[00:58:05] I think this is like where the,

[00:58:07] I think that was like the backs break.

[00:58:09] And that was like there.

[00:58:11] Oh,

[00:58:11] okay.

[00:58:12] We have,

[00:58:12] you know,

[00:58:13] we were really going for it.

[00:58:14] Um,

[00:58:16] I think the Bucs team,

[00:58:17] uh,

[00:58:17] they need this game.

[00:58:19] Um,

[00:58:20] they have a lot going on.

[00:58:22] I just think that the Raiders can't score and against the Chiefs.

[00:58:26] It doesn't matter.

[00:58:26] Cause they don't do that either.

[00:58:28] Um,

[00:58:29] but I think this Bucs team will put up points.

[00:58:31] Uh,

[00:58:32] we were watching Mike Evans,

[00:58:34] uh,

[00:58:34] together,

[00:58:35] Dan and I,

[00:58:35] and we were both just like,

[00:58:36] man,

[00:58:37] that guy's pretty good,

[00:58:38] huh?

[00:58:39] Like,

[00:58:40] um,

[00:58:40] um,

[00:58:41] um,

[00:58:41] so I think Mike Evans by himself is enough to tilt this for me.

[00:58:44] Um,

[00:58:45] and even with Crosby,

[00:58:46] they have worse out there,

[00:58:47] um,

[00:58:49] who is,

[00:58:50] if not the best tackle in the game,

[00:58:51] one of them.

[00:58:52] Um,

[00:58:53] and so I think they can keep Baker clean.

[00:58:57] Yeah.

[00:58:58] I mean,

[00:58:58] I,

[00:58:59] I don't disagree.

[00:59:01] I,

[00:59:02] that,

[00:59:02] uh,

[00:59:03] coach for the Raiders seemingly is terrible.

[00:59:06] Uh,

[00:59:07] I love,

[00:59:08] I mean,

[00:59:08] I don't love anybody getting fired,

[00:59:10] but the fact that they're probably going to have to move on from him.

[00:59:15] And while they're still paying John Gruden,

[00:59:18] like $10 million a year is pretty funny to me as a Broncos fan.

[00:59:22] So I'm glad that the Davises are taking a shit there.

[00:59:27] Um,

[00:59:30] my first one,

[00:59:31] I'm going to,

[00:59:31] it's on the same game.

[00:59:32] Uh,

[00:59:33] and you mentioned it,

[00:59:34] I'm just going to take Mike Evans anytime touchdown score.

[00:59:37] Every time this guy scores,

[00:59:39] I'm like,

[00:59:39] why didn't I just bet this?

[00:59:41] It's almost always positive money.

[00:59:42] And he's just so big and is such a great red zone target for Baker.

[00:59:48] Uh,

[00:59:48] so it's plus one Oh five.

[00:59:51] Uh,

[00:59:52] I'm going to take him to score.

[00:59:53] I love that for you.

[00:59:55] Um,

[00:59:56] next I'm going to the marquee.

[00:59:58] Sunday night game.

[00:59:59] Uh,

[00:59:59] we got the chargers.

[01:00:00] We got the chiefs.

[01:00:01] Uh,

[01:00:03] give me the chargers plus three and a half.

[01:00:04] Um,

[01:00:06] I think this chiefs team,

[01:00:07] uh,

[01:00:09] it's just not built,

[01:00:12] um,

[01:00:13] to beat anyone by more than a field goal.

[01:00:16] Um,

[01:00:16] unfortunately for the NFL,

[01:00:18] they're built to beat everyone by exactly a field goal,

[01:00:21] um,

[01:00:23] um,

[01:00:23] or less.

[01:00:23] Um,

[01:00:23] but,

[01:00:24] uh,

[01:00:24] I think this is a little too high.

[01:00:25] I think the chargers,

[01:00:27] even when they had Staley,

[01:00:29] like they've always played the chiefs tough.

[01:00:31] Um,

[01:00:32] they've,

[01:00:32] I think Derwin James is a huge help for them.

[01:00:36] Um,

[01:00:37] um,

[01:00:37] in dealing with Kelsey and dealing with a lot of the stuff that they do.

[01:00:40] I think they just know them.

[01:00:41] Well,

[01:00:41] they match up with them.

[01:00:42] Well,

[01:00:42] they're not scared of them.

[01:00:43] Um,

[01:00:44] and obviously if the chiefs can somehow pull this from the recesses of their ass,

[01:00:52] um,

[01:00:53] they pretty much lock up the one seed and the division,

[01:00:55] uh,

[01:00:56] all in one fell swoop.

[01:00:57] But it feels like the chargers are a little more desperate here.

[01:01:03] And,

[01:01:03] uh,

[01:01:04] this is a good spot to take them.

[01:01:07] So I'm taking them plus three and a half.

[01:01:12] Uh,

[01:01:13] I mean,

[01:01:16] I,

[01:01:17] I just get nervous.

[01:01:18] I mean,

[01:01:19] anytime you're mentioning a bet that sort of goes against Patrick.

[01:01:22] Hey,

[01:01:22] over three points,

[01:01:24] it's very profitable to get bet against prof Patrick Mahomes.

[01:01:28] If you do it all the time,

[01:01:30] if he's an underdog or it's three points or less,

[01:01:33] probably don't do it.

[01:01:36] Uh,

[01:01:37] yeah,

[01:01:39] I'm going to take to a tiger.

[01:01:42] uh,

[01:01:43] to have over 250 passing yards against the jets.

[01:01:47] Uh,

[01:01:47] this is minus one 30.

[01:01:49] He could get this in like three pass attempts in this game.

[01:01:54] Uh,

[01:01:54] I think they are going to absolutely boat race this jets team.

[01:01:59] And,

[01:01:59] uh,

[01:02:00] that offense has sneaky been good the last couple of weeks.

[01:02:04] Uh,

[01:02:04] and I know because I have two on my fantasy team and yeah,

[01:02:10] I think he's going to have,

[01:02:12] I mean,

[01:02:12] this isn't even like a huge number for him.

[01:02:15] Uh,

[01:02:15] so it's a little,

[01:02:17] you're paying a little bit of juice at minus one 30,

[01:02:19] but I like it.

[01:02:21] Hey,

[01:02:21] I,

[01:02:22] uh,

[01:02:22] I don't hate it at all.

[01:02:23] Um,

[01:02:25] I think once again,

[01:02:26] you're just getting warm weather.

[01:02:27] You're getting,

[01:02:28] uh,

[01:02:29] dolphins team,

[01:02:30] uh,

[01:02:30] off of a long week.

[01:02:32] Um,

[01:02:32] also just got embarrassed and the dolphins are kind of like the Broncos.

[01:02:36] Um,

[01:02:37] they're obviously more explosive offensively,

[01:02:39] but like if you're bad,

[01:02:41] the dolphins will beat you.

[01:02:43] And if you're good,

[01:02:44] they will lose to you.

[01:02:47] And yeah,

[01:02:48] I think the jets are bad and pretty much all of the energy around the jets.

[01:02:53] Uh,

[01:02:55] people have been making fun of the jets so long during this season.

[01:02:59] I literally think people have run out of jokes.

[01:03:01] Like,

[01:03:02] so people have just stopped talking about the jets.

[01:03:04] Cause they're like,

[01:03:05] ah,

[01:03:05] I don't have any new material.

[01:03:06] Like,

[01:03:07] yeah,

[01:03:07] I guess Aaron did say another stupid thing,

[01:03:10] but like,

[01:03:11] have you seen the previews for the Netflix thing?

[01:03:14] No.

[01:03:15] Oh,

[01:03:16] it's an whole Aaron Rogers.

[01:03:18] It's called Enigma.

[01:03:19] No.

[01:03:21] Yeah.

[01:03:21] It's like a whole documentary about his,

[01:03:24] his season.

[01:03:25] It's going to be incredible.

[01:03:27] I can't wait.

[01:03:27] Maybe we should do a whole podcast series.

[01:03:30] Oh my gosh.

[01:03:31] You're such an idiot.

[01:03:34] Um,

[01:03:35] all right.

[01:03:36] I love it.

[01:03:37] Um,

[01:03:39] okay.

[01:03:39] Up next.

[01:03:40] Um,

[01:03:40] I am going for my last pick.

[01:03:42] I'm going to go big underdogs.

[01:03:46] Um,

[01:03:46] they're very profitable this time of year teams that have nothing to play for.

[01:03:49] Surprisingly,

[01:03:50] uh,

[01:03:51] they have NFL players and they surprisingly play.

[01:03:53] So plus 13 and a half.

[01:03:55] Give me the Panthers.

[01:03:56] Um,

[01:03:57] I think that hurts and Saquon in them.

[01:04:00] Um,

[01:04:01] they're,

[01:04:03] they've gotten a lot of explosive runs.

[01:04:05] Um,

[01:04:06] but they're kind of more of a time control defensive thing.

[01:04:11] I think Bryce young and the boys have figured a few things out.

[01:04:14] Um,

[01:04:15] is there a world?

[01:04:16] Are you taking,

[01:04:16] huh?

[01:04:18] What are you taking Panthers plus 13 and a half on the road?

[01:04:22] Um,

[01:04:22] I just think it's too many points.

[01:04:24] Um,

[01:04:24] I think the Eagles are going to win this game.

[01:04:26] I just don't think that,

[01:04:28] I mean,

[01:04:28] even in their last game,

[01:04:29] like hurts through for 120 yards.

[01:04:33] Like usually you need a little bit more than that.

[01:04:35] Um,

[01:04:36] to be successful now,

[01:04:38] granted the Panthers secondary is much worse.

[01:04:40] Um,

[01:04:40] so the AJ Brown will be open and Devante Smith is supposed to come back.

[01:04:45] Um,

[01:04:46] but,

[01:04:47] uh,

[01:04:48] I think that,

[01:04:49] yeah,

[01:04:50] I,

[01:04:50] I just think,

[01:04:51] I think this Panthers team,

[01:04:53] um,

[01:04:53] we ended up having the,

[01:04:55] uh,

[01:04:56] when Dan was over,

[01:04:56] we ended up having the,

[01:04:57] a lot of the Panthers bucks on.

[01:05:00] Um,

[01:05:01] and the,

[01:05:01] the Panthers offense just looks fairly competent.

[01:05:05] And.

[01:05:05] No,

[01:05:05] they've looked a lot better.

[01:05:07] So I think if you can put,

[01:05:09] if you're capable of,

[01:05:10] as a 14 point underdog of putting up 20 points,

[01:05:15] it's pretty easy to backdoor cover,

[01:05:17] um,

[01:05:17] and get home here.

[01:05:19] You're going to want to get up for this game too.

[01:05:21] Yeah.

[01:05:23] Fair enough.

[01:05:23] That's my last one there.

[01:05:25] What,

[01:05:25] uh,

[01:05:25] what are you bringing for the last one?

[01:05:28] Uh,

[01:05:29] I haven't done this yet this year.

[01:05:31] Uh,

[01:05:31] but this is sort of an old school Ryan bet here.

[01:05:34] Uh,

[01:05:35] uh,

[01:05:35] so it's the same game part of life.

[01:05:37] Uh,

[01:05:38] we're going to the Atlanta Falcons and the Minnesota.

[01:05:42] You're a sick,

[01:05:43] sick man.

[01:05:46] I also can't wait to see what you cook up.

[01:05:51] So we're going to take Kirk cousins over half.

[01:05:54] I would say that's going to happen.

[01:05:56] Yes.

[01:05:57] Throw a pick.

[01:05:57] We're going to take Kyle pits to have 25 or more receiving yards.

[01:06:02] You're a miss,

[01:06:03] but I like it.

[01:06:06] TJ Hawkinson to have 25 or more receiving.

[01:06:09] Definitely going to happen.

[01:06:10] And that is plus two Oh four.

[01:06:14] I mean,

[01:06:15] to get plus 200 odds on Kyle pits to have 20 yards feels good.

[01:06:20] Cause I like,

[01:06:22] I think Hawkinson is great.

[01:06:23] A couple of good games.

[01:06:25] He's had a couple of good games and Kirk kind of trust him.

[01:06:29] I think it's.

[01:06:29] And Kirk is good on the play action to tight ends to like picking up the 25

[01:06:33] yard chunk,

[01:06:34] like across the middle to like,

[01:06:36] this is a dome game.

[01:06:38] Like it's Kirk coming home.

[01:06:40] I think he's,

[01:06:41] I think he's definitely going to be throwing the ball and I think he's going to

[01:06:44] be throwing it to the other team.

[01:06:46] And I think he will hit Kyle pits for probably a 30 yard pass.

[01:06:51] So I don't hate it.

[01:06:52] I don't hate it.

[01:06:53] Um,

[01:06:54] as a bonus,

[01:06:55] by the way,

[01:06:55] if you don't like the,

[01:06:57] uh,

[01:06:58] bucks minus six and a half or the Panthers 13 and a half,

[01:07:02] just tease them both.

[01:07:04] Um,

[01:07:04] and you can get the bucks down the money line and you can get up to 19 and a

[01:07:08] half.

[01:07:09] And,

[01:07:10] uh,

[01:07:10] I,

[01:07:11] I think you,

[01:07:12] you can find the worst ways to spend your money at minus one 20.

[01:07:16] Um,

[01:07:18] but that's,

[01:07:19] I hate teasing things,

[01:07:21] but that's why I didn't include it in the thing.

[01:07:23] It's a good job.

[01:07:24] But I,

[01:07:25] I just,

[01:07:26] if you're a little,

[01:07:27] there is definitely a little scared of the Baker,

[01:07:31] uh,

[01:07:31] you know,

[01:07:32] as a touchdown favorite,

[01:07:33] I get it.

[01:07:34] But,

[01:07:36] um,

[01:07:37] here we are.

[01:07:38] Um,

[01:07:39] all right.

[01:07:39] Well,

[01:07:40] that's the show.

[01:07:41] Um,

[01:07:42] I can't wait till we're six and Oh next week.

[01:07:44] That's going to be so exciting for us.

[01:07:46] Um,

[01:07:46] and I can't wait until the nuggets,

[01:07:49] uh,

[01:07:49] start playing better and we don't hate our lives and we'll be able to have a

[01:07:53] happy nuggets episode.

[01:07:54] I would,

[01:07:56] I want to end on this.

[01:07:57] We should have nuggets fans.

[01:07:59] We so want to eat crow.

[01:08:02] Like nothing would make me happier than to have all of you quoting this

[01:08:07] podcast at me in June and being like,

[01:08:10] what a moron.

[01:08:11] And I would be like,

[01:08:13] I'm the stupidest and the happiest.

[01:08:16] Like I want this team to be good.

[01:08:18] I want this team to be good as constructed,

[01:08:21] but we,

[01:08:22] you also have to acknowledge reality and what you're watching.

[01:08:26] And it's a snapshot in time.

[01:08:28] Like it's not,

[01:08:29] we're not saying it can't,

[01:08:30] it's going to be bad for us.

[01:08:32] I do believe I,

[01:08:33] I came pretty close to saying that,

[01:08:36] but you know what?

[01:08:37] I was in the flow.

[01:08:38] This season is,

[01:08:39] I do think you're right.

[01:08:41] This season is about appreciating Nicole Jokic's greatness.

[01:08:44] Because if you think,

[01:08:47] if you're looking at this team and being like,

[01:08:48] Oh,

[01:08:49] we're going to win the championship.

[01:08:50] Like you guys are fucking idiots.

[01:08:52] You're delusional.

[01:08:53] Like that's,

[01:08:54] that's delusional.

[01:08:55] Or you have a time machine and you're coming back from the future.

[01:08:59] You're like,

[01:08:59] dude,

[01:08:59] guys,

[01:09:00] I'm,

[01:09:00] you're not going to believe it,

[01:09:01] but they win the championship.

[01:09:03] Yeah.

[01:09:04] If that's,

[01:09:05] there's nothing that you have watched this season that would give you the

[01:09:08] idea that this is.

[01:09:10] If that,

[01:09:10] if that time machine exists,

[01:09:12] we should start placing some bets because they,

[01:09:16] the odds are tasty.

[01:09:17] I did check it out.

[01:09:18] I did look at Western conference and finals odds.

[01:09:24] Yeah.

[01:09:26] All right.

[01:09:27] That's it for the pod.

[01:09:28] Thank you to producer Dan for producing another beautiful episode and for

[01:09:34] rooting for the Broncos.

[01:09:35] Real quickly,

[01:09:36] Dan,

[01:09:38] on a scale of one to 10,

[01:09:39] 10 is your poop in your pants.

[01:09:41] Um,

[01:09:41] where were you at when the Browns came back and took the lead when it was,

[01:09:46] I think it was like 26 or something.

[01:09:48] Like,

[01:09:49] you know,

[01:09:49] it looked like it was over.

[01:09:51] Then they got the Judy pass to get within and then it came back and then

[01:09:54] they got another touchdown and they were up two or three.

[01:09:58] Where were you at?

[01:09:59] Were you?

[01:10:00] Cause I had a moment where I was like,

[01:10:01] we're going to blow this game.

[01:10:03] I kind of thought that too,

[01:10:04] but I had drank a lot of beer and I was very into yelling at Garrett Bowles

[01:10:10] and Jerry Judy.

[01:10:11] Um,

[01:10:11] um,

[01:10:12] the section knew that I hated Garrett Bowles,

[01:10:15] um,

[01:10:16] after those two penalties.

[01:10:17] God,

[01:10:18] back to back.

[01:10:19] That was,

[01:10:19] I,

[01:10:20] I didn't have a good,

[01:10:21] not yell at him for a play after that.

[01:10:24] Um,

[01:10:25] I really,

[01:10:26] really hated that.

[01:10:27] He's like our best lineman and I can't shut up about that.

[01:10:31] He really does.

[01:10:33] He's so easy to hate too.

[01:10:34] What I'm hearing is it's time for crumb.

[01:10:38] Crumb,

[01:10:40] crumb,

[01:10:41] crumb.

[01:10:42] All right.

[01:10:43] Maybe we should go dressed as crumb to the.

[01:10:46] Kyle's kind of dressed like crumb all the time.

[01:10:49] He just needs to be fatter.

[01:10:51] Yeah.

[01:10:53] No,

[01:10:54] I mean,

[01:10:54] crumb from the.

[01:10:56] Oh yeah.

[01:10:58] We come in cloaks and carry sticks.
