[00:00:30] Well a Reel Nerd knows who shot an a Reel Nerd can follow the plot and a Reel Nerd can-
[00:00:37] Does that talk to a film?
[00:00:39] I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
[00:00:40] Take it outside.
[00:00:48] Does who shot a Reel Nerd?
[00:01:02] Hey all you crazy Reel Nerds listeners, I am Ryan and I am being joined by Brad.
[00:01:08] Hey.
[00:01:08] Hi.
[00:01:09] Every week we see a new movie and we podcast our experience to the world on the best damn
[00:01:15] movie podcast on the internet.
[00:01:18] This week, we saw the Wild Robots.
[00:01:21] Stay tuned where we'll recommend the film or not.
[00:01:23] Play the trailer.
[00:01:25] Then we'll spoil the film and talk about it.
[00:01:28] We'll talk about our shenanigans throughout the week.
[00:01:31] I don't know movies we've watched throughout the week.
[00:01:34] Movie news.
[00:01:35] It's what we do.
[00:01:37] Brad how are you?
[00:01:39] I'm good.
[00:01:39] It's tired of working on our website.
[00:01:42] I know a broken record I've been talking about it week after week but it's a-
[00:01:47] I just want to get everything updated so we're not like-
[00:01:51] We did all that hard work for Fan Expo and now people are probably like these guys
[00:01:55] are clowns.
[00:01:56] Yeah, we're clown shoes but we promise that they're coming and if people knew
[00:02:02] how much hard work you put-
[00:02:03] I mean, I know because I go to our website at least once a day and I can see
[00:02:09] all the hard work you're putting in so I appreciate it even if no one else does.
[00:02:13] Yeah, that film explosion 94 episode took a while to edit because normally we've
[00:02:20] been recording with the bug but we went back to Zach's place to do it
[00:02:24] and the mics caught everyone else's-
[00:02:27] We're so close together and the ceiling like everything.
[00:02:30] So the audio was on it like everybody else's audio was in everyone's mics.
[00:02:34] Oh, shit.
[00:02:35] So it just sounded like we were in this big echo chamber and so I had to like-
[00:02:41] Every time someone stopped talking and someone else started talking like I had to
[00:02:45] instead of just like layering the tracks on top of each other I had to separate them
[00:02:49] and then yeah so you'll hear like audio double up sometimes just because like
[00:02:55] it would have taken me so long to perfect it.
[00:02:59] Anyway, super technical I know.
[00:03:02] You know, you did a great job because I didn't even notice when I listened to it so-
[00:03:07] Yeah, yeah, God, that's another thing is like it took like iTunes forever to take it
[00:03:13] and put like actually load it.
[00:03:17] I use the iTunes Apple podcast app now for podcasts and so all the other aggregators
[00:03:23] have gone away but like unless I'm around Wi-Fi a lot it won't download episodes
[00:03:31] so I'll constantly get in my car and be like cool,
[00:03:34] I'm gonna listen to the new episode of this thing and say like sorry
[00:03:37] you have to either enable data which it's always enabled
[00:03:41] or getting your Wi-Fi to download it even though like it's right there.
[00:03:45] It doesn't stream?
[00:03:47] It doesn't just stream it.
[00:03:48] It's like I don't know what's going on but like yeah the weird part is like hey
[00:03:52] activate your data plan so you can download it from a satellite.
[00:03:56] I'm like it's already enabled like I don't know what else to do.
[00:04:02] Yeah, this isn't on me. This is on you.
[00:04:04] Yeah, I mean podcasts are still so popular.
[00:04:10] I mean we're right below SmartList and Conan O'Brien and then it's RealNerds you know?
[00:04:15] So I mean I don't know why they make it so hard to get them now.
[00:04:20] Probably just because they want like all the people at the top of the food chain to like
[00:04:26] you know get the best access and that's all those little guys they want to shove down so that you know there's no competition.
[00:04:34] But even I only subscribed to two podcasts and that's mine and Conan O'Brien
[00:04:41] and even the Conan O'Brien one they don't release them in order it's really fucking weird.
[00:04:46] Yeah, I hate that too.
[00:04:48] Yeah, so I don't know.
[00:04:50] But anyways yeah this I already said the wild robot so I know what I'm doing.
[00:04:57] I've only been doing this for 13 years.
[00:05:01] Yeah, I got the new Mortal Kombat expansion it's fun.
[00:05:08] What'd they expand on?
[00:05:11] It's another story and there's six new characters.
[00:05:17] The first three characters have dropped which are Cyrax and Sektor and Noob Cybot
[00:05:24] and all the Mortal Kombat fans are pissed Brad do you want to know why?
[00:05:29] Why are the Mortal Kombat fans pissed Ryan?
[00:05:31] Well Steve so this is like a multiverse story.
[00:05:36] We're at the end of Mortal Kombat.
[00:05:37] I know at the end of Mortal Kombat 11 Liu Kang defeated the main boss named Kronika
[00:05:46] and Kronika is in charge of all of time.
[00:05:49] She's this elder God so when she dies Liu Kang decided to restart the universe
[00:05:53] and his vision of peace.
[00:05:55] When he did this there's new takes on characters like Raiden and Kung Lao, Scorpion,
[00:06:01] Sub-Zero you know all your favorites but they went too far with Cyrax and Sektor.
[00:06:06] They are now female instead of male characters.
[00:06:10] What?
[00:06:11] Yeah.
[00:06:13] Oh and don't get me started on they have this new system called cameos where it's like a tag team kind of setup.
[00:06:19] They have the original Cyrax and Sektor in that but that doesn't count
[00:06:24] because in the main game they're women so fuck Mortal Kombat.
[00:06:31] Great woke Mortal Kombat unbelievable I never thought I'd live to see the day you know
[00:06:35] those characters are so important it's so real that it can't be reimagined as anything else.
[00:06:41] I mean if I had to pick two characters for Mortal Kombat's lore that didn't deserve this wokeness
[00:06:47] it's Cyrax and Sektor.
[00:06:49] I mean they're so well known in the canon outside of Mortal Kombat
[00:06:54] I can't believe they're messing with them Brad.
[00:06:58] This all started back when that lady played Peter Pan on the stage play.
[00:07:02] Yeah unbelievable.
[00:07:03] What's next and I mean this is what also sucks is you know it's a multiverse game
[00:07:10] so this is totally canon and in the next Mortal Kombat it's just gonna be nothing but women I guess
[00:07:16] women fucking Luke Haines or something I don't know.
[00:07:21] It's literally what people are bitching about right now it so I know
[00:07:27] and the characters are really fun to play as I don't get it I'll never get it.
[00:07:34] It's literally you still have the original in the game this is just like you know it's
[00:07:39] I always liken it to you know there's Peter Parker and then there's Spider-Man Noir
[00:07:43] it's literally the same dude just you know different.
[00:07:45] Yeah reimagined is like hey I don't know they've been doing this in comics for like
[00:07:51] since I've been alive like I know there's it's just now people are given a voice on the internet
[00:07:57] and unfortunately that voice is awful so yeah but people should play a sci-ac in sector
[00:08:03] they're really fun to play as.
[00:08:06] Yeah anyways and then the guest characters they're having is Ghostface from Scream, Arnold Schwarzenegger's
[00:08:13] Conan the Barbarian and the T-1000 from T2.
[00:08:17] Awesome.
[00:08:18] Yeah so it'll be fun.
[00:08:22] This week on Real Nerd we saw the Wild Robot.
[00:08:26] Brad do you recommend the Wild Robot?
[00:08:30] Yeah I guess it's a pretty film and it's got a good message but like I kind of hate that the characters talked
[00:08:43] like all the animals had voices they really don't have that in the trailer
[00:08:47] and I kind of wanted to like I was kind of hoping for another like first half of Wally's situation
[00:08:52] where it's just like this art film where you know everything's just like natural and silent
[00:08:57] and then yeah people started talking and stuff and yeah the villain I guess the villain is kind of weak
[00:09:09] yeah it's beautiful in a lot of ways and like tries to get this like really important message across
[00:09:14] but I don't know kind of middle of the road for me.
[00:09:18] Well Brad the Heartless has spoken again.
[00:09:22] I adored this film I think I was beautifully animated I thought the story was wonderful
[00:09:28] and I will give props to DreamWorks Animation at the end they didn't have a pop song singing
[00:09:34] with all the animals.
[00:09:37] The animals didn't come together in that hut and just like sing a Smash Mouth song at some point it's nuts.
[00:09:46] I guess what didn't like do sticks Mr. Roboto.
[00:09:54] I might have liked that.
[00:09:56] Here's the trailer for The Wild Robot.
[00:10:27] Resistance?
[00:10:34] Aggression detected.
[00:10:38] I see your problem.
[00:10:49] Language.
[00:10:53] You need to learn how things work on this island.
[00:11:04] Gosslings and print on the first thing they see.
[00:11:06] Which would be you?
[00:11:08] Here is another now.
[00:11:10] I do not have the programming.
[00:11:12] No one does.
[00:11:13] It needs to swim and fly.
[00:11:16] Swimming's easy I can teach him the way my mom taught me.
[00:11:19] Swim!
[00:11:24] He's a runt.
[00:11:25] His chances are super good.
[00:11:28] I will protect him.
[00:11:33] He's got to leave this island by fall.
[00:11:36] Right belt!
[00:11:39] It is more dangerous for him than anyone else.
[00:11:45] But he has a chance.
[00:11:48] If where his wings end, his heart can pay the balance.
[00:11:55] Easy to find.
[00:11:59] You are defective.
[00:12:01] I feel fine.
[00:12:03] You should not feel anything at all.
[00:12:07] Mark, sometimes to survive,
[00:12:16] we must become more than we were programmed to be.
[00:12:24] I will protect all of you.
[00:12:26] You are ordered to return home.
[00:12:28] I am already home and I am a Wild Robot.
[00:12:34] Wild Robot is an animated film.
[00:12:52] It is beautifully animated.
[00:12:54] It is unbelievable.
[00:12:56] They took the animation style of the last Wilson Boots movie
[00:13:02] and used it here.
[00:13:04] Which I think they should.
[00:13:07] The one thing that I really liked lately
[00:13:09] going to animated films for the most part
[00:13:12] is they all have their own vibe to them now
[00:13:16] even though they are computer generated.
[00:13:19] Whether it is even Wish which is not the best Disney movie
[00:13:23] they blended hand drawn animation with the 3D stuff
[00:13:28] and it came out awesome.
[00:13:30] This movie expanded on what Wilson Boots did
[00:13:33] which looks kind of like a comic book
[00:13:39] that dot kind of color with 3D animation.
[00:13:43] I thought it looked really great.
[00:13:45] The movie is about a robot who is on a shipwreck
[00:13:52] and she arrives on this island
[00:13:54] and her only objective is to complete tasks.
[00:13:58] Kind of like, I don't know where the right word is
[00:14:03] just to help a robot that helps humans.
[00:14:08] While she is there she is trying to help everybody
[00:14:11] and she can't because...
[00:14:15] She is following her program
[00:14:16] which is like I have to help my owners
[00:14:19] which I think are these animals.
[00:14:21] Yeah and she can't communicate with them yet
[00:14:24] because at this point in the movie
[00:14:25] all the animals just do is they are roars
[00:14:29] or chirps or whatever they are
[00:14:32] and she scares some animals
[00:14:33] and she is involved in an accident
[00:14:35] that kills a family of birds
[00:14:39] and she is left with a little goose.
[00:14:43] Is it a gozzling?
[00:14:45] That's a baby goose, is that right?
[00:14:48] Ah man, alright.
[00:14:51] It's marked on her so the little goose
[00:14:56] looks up to Roz as a mother
[00:15:00] and when she sits
[00:15:04] and figures out how to communicate
[00:15:07] with all the animals,
[00:15:09] Fox who is voiced by Pedro Pascal
[00:15:11] you know helps her become a mom
[00:15:16] to this goose
[00:15:19] who is ostracized by the rest of the geese
[00:15:21] in the town for being...
[00:15:23] or towns of island for being small
[00:15:26] and he has to learn how to eat,
[00:15:31] swim and fly which gives her an objective
[00:15:33] and a task to complete
[00:15:36] and she goes through all of this
[00:15:38] and she learns that she wants to be a mom
[00:15:41] and she loves being a mom
[00:15:44] and it's just really...
[00:15:46] I thought it was a beautiful movie.
[00:15:50] Yeah man, it looked good.
[00:15:53] I couldn't quite get a beat on the story
[00:15:55] for the longest time.
[00:15:56] I was like where are we going with this?
[00:15:57] You know?
[00:15:58] Yeah.
[00:15:59] Because initially she is there
[00:16:01] and then she tries to win the trust
[00:16:03] of all these animals which again
[00:16:05] like oh, we don't like foreigners
[00:16:08] in our space
[00:16:10] and we're just going to treat them like shit
[00:16:12] instead of like...
[00:16:14] even though they're doing nice things
[00:16:16] we're going to...
[00:16:17] for us we're still going to not accept them
[00:16:20] and then yeah she accidentally kills
[00:16:24] the Gosling's family
[00:16:26] but then takes responsibility
[00:16:29] tries to raise him
[00:16:30] and then I kind of napped
[00:16:34] somewhere after that
[00:16:35] Of course you did.
[00:16:36] and woke up to like the Bill Nighy Goose
[00:16:38] like finally training him
[00:16:42] yeah and then suddenly it's this whole thing about like...
[00:16:47] like she doesn't want to...
[00:16:49] like the ship that lost her
[00:16:50] is finally going to come back and rescue her
[00:16:52] and there's like this other robot
[00:16:54] who's like really mean
[00:16:58] and uh...
[00:17:00] just wants her back.
[00:17:01] wants her back but is mean about it
[00:17:04] so just like being a robot is indifferent
[00:17:06] and then like destroys the island to get her
[00:17:10] I'm not sure why that's necessary
[00:17:14] but yeah so like after all that
[00:17:18] Ross is like
[00:17:19] you know what?
[00:17:20] I am a danger to you guys
[00:17:22] I should leave
[00:17:24] and so she does
[00:17:25] but then comes back anyway
[00:17:27] is just like okay
[00:17:29] I don't know if we...
[00:17:30] like it just felt a little drawn out of like
[00:17:32] you know where do you want to go with this
[00:17:35] and then the whole thing of like
[00:17:37] you know I appreciate the message of
[00:17:38] when she's finally got the animals trust
[00:17:41] and like decipher the language
[00:17:43] and she's like telling the animals
[00:17:45] like hey
[00:17:46] you don't have to eat each other
[00:17:47] you can grow beyond your programming
[00:17:50] and all that like I like that
[00:17:51] you know you don't have to be like
[00:17:52] your base animal instincts
[00:17:57] so yeah
[00:17:57] yeah well you know she eventually learns
[00:18:01] and by the way Lupita Nyong
[00:18:04] Lupito Nyong'o is freaking fabulous
[00:18:06] in this movie as Ross
[00:18:08] and she was great in a quiet place as well
[00:18:13] you know she has to learn
[00:18:16] to buff her programming
[00:18:17] and becoming a mom
[00:18:18] and I thought it was beautifully told
[00:18:21] and I...
[00:18:23] yeah I thought this movie was great
[00:18:27] and it's kind of fun
[00:18:28] seeing a movie like this after
[00:18:30] you know we go weeks and weeks
[00:18:32] and weeks of seeing Sirius
[00:18:33] or like hardcore movies
[00:18:35] it's kind of fun to go to a movie
[00:18:37] and see a lighthearted
[00:18:40] you know just fun film
[00:18:43] that I really enjoyed
[00:18:46] yeah I like
[00:18:47] it's not like I'm talking about a one star movie here
[00:18:49] I'm talking about like a four
[00:18:51] instead of a five for me you know
[00:18:53] yeah no it's
[00:18:55] it's a wonderful movie
[00:18:57] and I think it's
[00:18:59] pretty well it's opening weekend
[00:19:00] it has a really long staying power
[00:19:03] so I think people are
[00:19:05] discovering it slowly
[00:19:07] but enjoying it
[00:19:08] yeah animation is had a slow crawl this year
[00:19:11] like they would debut huge
[00:19:13] but they definitely have legs
[00:19:14] oh yeah
[00:19:16] like I haven't heard much out of Despicable Me
[00:19:18] but it's like the third highest grossing movie of the year
[00:19:21] I think it's kind of forwarded well
[00:19:23] yeah
[00:19:24] so
[00:19:26] like even if broke the 100 million dollar mark
[00:19:28] so
[00:19:30] yeah it's
[00:19:33] yeah man I'm even trying to think
[00:19:35] I guess the inside out too is the big one
[00:19:37] yeah I mean
[00:19:38] Blue Pass, Deadpool and Wolverine even
[00:19:41] yeah
[00:19:43] yeah
[00:19:46] so I pre-ordered
[00:19:47] the steel book from Amazon for Deadpool
[00:19:49] and cool Wolverine
[00:19:50] for how much
[00:19:52] yeah so I got the Wolverine one
[00:19:54] and I'm hoping it's dropping because right now
[00:19:56] it's 67 dollars
[00:19:58] and it's like 72
[00:20:00] with tax
[00:20:01] because I pre-ordered it the day it came out
[00:20:04] it's gonna drop right
[00:20:06] I don't know it comes out in two weeks
[00:20:08] that's a short amount of time
[00:20:10] no joke I'm keeping an eye on it
[00:20:12] and if it doesn't I might cancel just get the regular version
[00:20:15] which I'm also
[00:20:17] on the fence with because I have
[00:20:18] deal books on every single Marvel
[00:20:21] movie
[00:20:21] but 70 dollars for a steel book
[00:20:25] for that's a season
[00:20:27] of something on blu-ray like
[00:20:29] exactly well there was a movie that was
[00:20:31] like this too that I was really worried about
[00:20:34] um
[00:20:35] oh it's inside out too
[00:20:36] inside out too is the same thing it was like 70
[00:20:39] dollars
[00:20:40] yeah till about a week and then
[00:20:43] a week before it came out it dropped to
[00:20:45] like 36
[00:20:46] nice I think I paid like 44
[00:20:48] or 45 but yeah it's
[00:20:50] you know that Wolverine version
[00:20:52] sold out so fast
[00:20:54] I
[00:20:56] unless there's a restock it might stay
[00:20:58] like that high because it's so rare now
[00:21:01] but
[00:21:02] they sold so many just that brings price down
[00:21:05] well I think
[00:21:06] you think so I know
[00:21:08] why I'm scared too about it
[00:21:11] there's also a part of me that says well maybe I shouldn't
[00:21:13] you know cancel it because
[00:21:15] I don't know if it's ever going to be available
[00:21:17] again and I definitely got the order
[00:21:19] in because it's on my
[00:21:21] order
[00:21:23] page but the Deadpool
[00:21:25] version is like 47
[00:21:27] dollars I'm like god damn it
[00:21:28] I know if you want to just get the
[00:21:31] non Wolverine one you still get a decent price
[00:21:33] like I missed it so I
[00:21:35] bought the Deadpool one
[00:21:37] you know but like
[00:21:38] I went on Walmart like two days later and they had
[00:21:41] the Wolverine one back in stock
[00:21:43] but it's like 54 right so
[00:21:45] yeah I was like should I just get both
[00:21:47] and like what if you know they cancel
[00:21:49] the Wolverine one then I've gotten neither
[00:21:52] yeah so am I going to pay
[00:21:53] for two of these shit
[00:21:55] like this whole situation sucks I just want
[00:21:56] Best Buy to come back and do them I know
[00:21:58] it totally sucks and then
[00:22:00] you know Amazon is going to ship it to you
[00:22:02] and maybe that
[00:22:05] Wolverine steelbook they're not going to print anymore
[00:22:07] comes dented oh my god
[00:22:09] why are you doing this to me and you paid 70
[00:22:11] bucks for it and there's like
[00:22:13] it's fine return it but they can't replace it
[00:22:18] yeah I know that's going to be
[00:22:19] a charge from Amazon
[00:22:21] my wife can see what you spent $72 on
[00:22:23] an Amazon one movie
[00:22:25] uh that pulled Wolverine
[00:22:28] and then I'll be sleeping with you buddy
[00:22:31] yeah as I say
[00:22:33] well I'll go over to Brad's and he'll want to watch it
[00:22:37] yeah I'm
[00:22:37] I'm keeping tabs on target because they sell it
[00:22:40] for 48
[00:22:42] so if that comes back
[00:22:43] in stock I'm gonna snipe it and cancel
[00:22:45] everything else well I'm hoping
[00:22:47] they it's going to drop there's no way
[00:22:49] they're going to sell that movie for $68
[00:22:52] I don't know man like
[00:22:53] I'm sure the bean counters sitting there going
[00:22:55] like well we've already got their money so
[00:22:57] why
[00:22:59] like we're not putting anymore out so we should
[00:23:01] just keep it at 70
[00:23:03] so we'll see
[00:23:04] let me see I have you on
[00:23:06] um
[00:23:08] I'm gonna look at my order right now maybe today
[00:23:10] it dropped let's see
[00:23:13] your orders
[00:23:15] I mean they technically don't have a release date
[00:23:17] on it for me yet it just says my order
[00:23:19] has been received
[00:23:20] everywhere else I've seen it's October 22nd so
[00:23:22] yeah I mean if you click on all the other ones
[00:23:24] they say October 22nd
[00:23:27] so it also makes me think like do that do I
[00:23:28] even still get it yeah it's still at
[00:23:30] $65.99
[00:23:32] and with taxes
[00:23:34] $73.24
[00:23:38] fuck
[00:23:40] it's like the 80s man buying a VHS
[00:23:42] anymore
[00:23:44] yeah
[00:23:45] well I mean they just put out
[00:23:48] Alien Romulus their
[00:23:50] still book which isn't that great and it's
[00:23:52] at $54 right now
[00:23:55] and so I preordered
[00:23:56] this let's see when I ordered it
[00:23:58] October 2nd
[00:24:01] so I guess that's not that long goes five days
[00:24:03] ago
[00:24:05] um I mean
[00:24:06] that's this week
[00:24:11] yeah I might have to
[00:24:12] get out of steel books
[00:24:14] I know if they're gonna be this expensive I can't do it
[00:24:17] yeah
[00:24:18] well I mean they can't all can't be
[00:24:20] because they have uh north by northwest
[00:24:22] deal book I ordered
[00:24:25] that's an old movie
[00:24:26] so like 29 bucks
[00:24:28] yeah because
[00:24:30] you know
[00:24:30] it didn't come out in theaters so there's not a ton of people
[00:24:34] running out to get it you know
[00:24:35] let me let me check my Godzilla minus
[00:24:37] one one
[00:24:39] um let's see
[00:24:44] that one's 46
[00:24:45] but also comes with extra swag too
[00:24:47] so I don't know yeah
[00:24:50] that's the other thing too like a lot of these
[00:24:51] steel books just have like the movie and maybe
[00:24:54] a couple
[00:24:55] behind the scenes things yeah it's not
[00:24:58] the robust experience like
[00:24:59] if you paid $54 for a DVD
[00:25:02] back in the day
[00:25:03] like you're getting a ton of shit with it
[00:25:05] no doubt now you get you know the
[00:25:07] three-minute EPK
[00:25:09] where they're going I really liked working with Ryan Reynolds
[00:25:12] yeah me too
[00:25:14] yep
[00:25:16] oh well
[00:25:18] yeah we'll see
[00:25:19] yeah this is the big
[00:25:21] movie news of the week
[00:25:24] it's real news
[00:25:25] news
[00:25:31] really the only big news is
[00:25:32] they dropped a trailer for Thunderbolts kind of
[00:25:35] under the radar
[00:25:38] uh yeah
[00:25:38] uh very Suicide Squad
[00:25:41] inspired
[00:25:42] um
[00:25:44] you know I'll give them a bet for the doubt because it's just the teaser
[00:25:47] because I think they literally
[00:25:48] just stopped finish filming it
[00:25:50] like a week ago so
[00:25:53] um
[00:25:55] that's just a little that's just to give you a little taste
[00:25:57] because I did see the new trailer for Captain America
[00:26:00] uh New World Order and it was really good
[00:26:03] uh it expanded on
[00:26:05] the little teaser they had um
[00:26:07] you know a couple months ago
[00:26:09] so I'm guessing it's just like hey
[00:26:11] just so you know this movie's coming out in
[00:26:13] seven months don't forget
[00:26:15] about it
[00:26:17] um yeah what's with the asterix
[00:26:19] next to Thunderbolts are they not Thunderbolts
[00:26:21] I don't know what that means
[00:26:23] obviously it means something because there's kind of a
[00:26:26] emphasis on the trailer
[00:26:27] you know it had the title and then it put the asterix there
[00:26:31] so
[00:26:31] I'm like
[00:26:33] I thought uh we were getting away from those
[00:26:35] boring title treatments
[00:26:37] like that's just Gotham font like
[00:26:39] they were
[00:26:40] think about marbles they like went and like made like a comic book cover
[00:26:43] title for everything now it's just like here's
[00:26:45] Thunderbolts
[00:26:47] asterix
[00:26:49] yeah I'm
[00:26:50] sure when they start ramping up the actual
[00:26:54] publicity on it
[00:26:55] maybe it'll be more inspired
[00:26:57] hopefully
[00:26:59] yeah I mean I'm excited because I love Julia
[00:27:01] Louie Dreyfus and her
[00:27:03] having you know being
[00:27:05] one of the major characters in it
[00:27:07] makes me excited
[00:27:09] I'm hoping it sends a lot of people
[00:27:11] towards my films as an accident
[00:27:13] haha
[00:27:16] oh see I see we did that
[00:27:17] so when it before when it
[00:27:19] comes out we'll just make sure we share your movie
[00:27:21] a bunch
[00:27:21] and then people get confused and shit
[00:27:26] then maybe some green light a third one for me
[00:27:28] haha
[00:27:29] yeah I mean
[00:27:31] it doesn't really say anything you get a quick glimpse
[00:27:33] of Bob who is
[00:27:35] the Sentry
[00:27:37] which is a superman
[00:27:39] level
[00:27:41] quote-unquote hero but not really
[00:27:44] that they have to take down so it'll be interesting
[00:27:46] we'll see how it plays out
[00:27:47] I love all the characters in it
[00:27:50] and
[00:27:50] you know anytime Florence Pugh
[00:27:53] is in a movie I'll watch it
[00:27:54] I think she's wonderful
[00:27:57] so I'm excited
[00:27:59] real quick back to
[00:28:00] Steelbooks so Walmart has the
[00:28:02] Resident Evil 6 movie collection
[00:28:04] Steelbooks all for
[00:28:06] $90
[00:28:08] oh
[00:28:09] yeah so 6 movies in Steelbooks
[00:28:14] for
[00:28:14] $20 more than you're about to pay for one movie
[00:28:17] yeah
[00:28:18] and they have this 2001
[00:28:20] a Space Odyssey one
[00:28:21] for $74
[00:28:24] it's like some special Vault range
[00:28:26] Steelbook but still
[00:28:28] that's a lot of money to watch a movie to fall asleep
[00:28:30] too exactly
[00:28:33] haha
[00:28:35] there'll be a lot of
[00:28:36] special features on that shit
[00:28:39] yeah
[00:28:42] definitely have to stop getting
[00:28:43] more stuff getting Steelbooks
[00:28:44] haha
[00:28:47] yeah I know but I don't want to
[00:28:49] um it's my
[00:28:50] this is my curse this is my gift
[00:28:53] um
[00:28:56] we watch
[00:28:57] movies throughout the week in a segment I call
[00:29:00] movies
[00:29:00] we watch throughout the week
[00:29:03] so uh yeah
[00:29:04] this is the stuff we've been watching
[00:29:07] Brad what you watch this week
[00:29:09] um let's see
[00:29:11] um
[00:29:12] I watched the Miguelopolis
[00:29:14] would you watch
[00:29:15] uh actually can I
[00:29:17] I want to interrupt you because you didn't
[00:29:20] talk about it last week
[00:29:21] and I don't know but it popped up on your
[00:29:24] letterbox and you
[00:29:26] watch Teeth
[00:29:26] I was getting there but yeah
[00:29:29] okay uh and only because my wife
[00:29:32] loves that movie
[00:29:34] and I remember watching it
[00:29:35] going huh I don't know
[00:29:38] if love is the right word but
[00:29:39] yeah you saw I put one star on it right
[00:29:41] I did I
[00:29:44] you're in the same boat as me
[00:29:47] yeah um
[00:29:50] uh
[00:29:50] I mean I put a joke review on it but like
[00:29:52] yeah it's like
[00:29:55] like Teeth would be a better movie if it was more
[00:29:57] like the substance if that makes sense
[00:30:00] yeah um
[00:30:01] like not that I need to see a vagina with Teeth
[00:30:03] but like
[00:30:05] but here's the thing if you're gonna make a movie
[00:30:07] like that just fucking make a movie
[00:30:09] yeah like it should have been more insane
[00:30:11] than it is like there's
[00:30:13] so much like coy like
[00:30:15] um like religion and like
[00:30:17] virginity issues and I
[00:30:19] just want to see like more monster stuff you
[00:30:21] know yeah and I'm not saying I have to
[00:30:23] see a vagina like with Teeth eating
[00:30:25] stuff but like why
[00:30:27] could she be like on top of some dude
[00:30:29] and like eat them in half or something you know what
[00:30:31] I mean yeah like yeah you see a bunch of dudes
[00:30:33] dick to get bitten off but like
[00:30:34] it's the same experience like three
[00:30:37] times I think yeah
[00:30:38] um and it's made a little
[00:30:41] edgier because like there's this underlying
[00:30:42] thing where her brother like
[00:30:44] molestered her as a kid
[00:30:47] um
[00:30:48] mm-hmm yeah
[00:30:50] um
[00:30:52] yeah it's just like I guess just under
[00:30:54] cooked you know yeah um
[00:30:57] and then at the
[00:30:59] end she hits she's
[00:31:00] like runs out of her town
[00:31:02] um and she like hits the ride with that
[00:31:04] creepy old dude
[00:31:06] and you know
[00:31:08] when they like park at the gas station
[00:31:10] he basically like tries
[00:31:12] to get her like hey you gotta pay me for this ride
[00:31:14] and she's sitting there going like oh what
[00:31:16] am I gonna do in this situation now
[00:31:19] and then she's like
[00:31:20] oh right I've got this thing I can
[00:31:22] do to punish yeah it's like yeah
[00:31:24] what are we doing here
[00:31:28] yeah
[00:31:28] yeah I feel you on
[00:31:30] that one I've seen
[00:31:32] it I saw like years ago like when
[00:31:34] it came out um I fell
[00:31:36] asleep and like didn't give it a second
[00:31:38] thought and yeah I
[00:31:40] watched all the way through this time I was like oh I didn't miss much
[00:31:44] and we're still good
[00:31:46] oh nice
[00:31:48] yeah like they live next to a radioactive
[00:31:50] like plant
[00:31:52] and she's the only person in town that's
[00:31:54] having this problem okay
[00:31:57] yeah
[00:31:59] um
[00:32:00] building a man
[00:32:01] so yeah I also watched
[00:32:03] I totally forgot I watched
[00:32:05] Transformers 1
[00:32:08] yeah which is way better
[00:32:09] than expected it to be
[00:32:10] that's what I've been hearing about that movie
[00:32:13] and it flew under the radar because it kind of fizzled out
[00:32:17] yeah you know
[00:32:18] those movies where you're like
[00:32:19] like I just want to see the robots fight
[00:32:21] I don't care about the human story
[00:32:22] they finally made that movie
[00:32:25] really it's just Transformers
[00:32:28] and like it's a
[00:32:29] pretty standard movie
[00:32:31] you know it's like a
[00:32:33] Charles Xavier
[00:32:35] and Magneto
[00:32:36] this is when they were friends
[00:32:39] so it's Optimus Prime
[00:32:40] who I forget his name at the time
[00:32:43] and then um
[00:32:45] D16 or whatever who's Megatron
[00:32:47] you know this is their prequel whatever
[00:32:49] and their friends and their minors
[00:32:51] and they're being oppressed by
[00:32:54] Cybertron's
[00:32:55] King or whatever
[00:32:57] and they find out like
[00:32:58] you know the world they've grown up in isn't what it is
[00:33:01] really is
[00:33:01] and Optimus Prime takes the noble path
[00:33:05] and Megatron
[00:33:07] is really jaded and upset
[00:33:09] that he's been treated this way
[00:33:10] and so like
[00:33:12] it's like the X-Men you know
[00:33:13] they both want to achieve the same thing
[00:33:16] but they go about it in different ways
[00:33:18] and so yeah you're watching that solely devolved
[00:33:20] but then like they get to the end of the movie
[00:33:22] and they defeat the ruler
[00:33:24] of Cybertron
[00:33:25] and then you get like oh shit this movie's still going
[00:33:29] so
[00:33:30] you see like the rise of the
[00:33:32] like why the war on Cybertron
[00:33:34] even happens between
[00:33:36] like how Optimus Prime becomes Prime
[00:33:38] and Megatron- I was wondering why
[00:33:40] yeah and why they even explain
[00:33:42] why they're called Decepticons
[00:33:43] in a smart way
[00:33:46] I was like holy shit like it was a joke before
[00:33:48] I was like why would you call yourself like
[00:33:50] such an obvious villain name
[00:33:52] it's because they're like
[00:33:54] rebelling against the deception they've had
[00:33:56] as the Royal Guards
[00:33:58] and the Miners together
[00:34:00] so
[00:34:02] it's not that they're Decepticons
[00:34:03] it's like they're fighters of deception
[00:34:07] yeah
[00:34:08] I'm on board with that
[00:34:09] yeah it's really good
[00:34:11] but I missed the opening because
[00:34:13] I had to see in 3D at the time I went
[00:34:16] and they didn't switch it over
[00:34:18] so it was like blurry
[00:34:20] and I had to go out into the lobby twice
[00:34:22] to say like hey it's not fixed yet
[00:34:24] I do have the right glasses
[00:34:26] stuff like that so the whole
[00:34:28] prologue with Lawrence Fishburne
[00:34:30] I was like kind of
[00:34:32] I missed some setup but
[00:34:34] yeah it was cool
[00:34:36] so Transformers 1 definitely worth checking out
[00:34:38] and then yeah the last thing I saw this week
[00:34:40] was Megalopolis
[00:34:43] which is
[00:34:44] I know you've never seen a Neil Breen film
[00:34:48] but it's like
[00:34:48] a really big budget Neil Breen film
[00:34:52] you're saying good
[00:34:53] oh god
[00:34:54] it is rough
[00:34:57] yeah
[00:34:58] I mean you've seen The Room
[00:34:59] and I can tell you there's a scene in this movie
[00:35:02] that is very much like
[00:35:03] I feel like I'm watching The Room right now
[00:35:06] yeah
[00:35:07] it has M Driver in it
[00:35:09] I mean
[00:35:11] he's like doing his best
[00:35:13] to like elevate this material
[00:35:14] but it is like just like an old man
[00:35:17] just throwing all his thoughts out there before he dies
[00:35:19] and trying to make a movie out of it
[00:35:22] often
[00:35:23] I was like telling everyone
[00:35:25] I watched it with like this guy made The Godfather
[00:35:27] right like we check
[00:35:29] to see if he actually did that movie because
[00:35:31] these do not match up
[00:35:33] and I saw Twixt and those
[00:35:34] this does not seem like the output of the guy who made
[00:35:37] those movies
[00:35:37] damn
[00:35:39] so yeah it is wild
[00:35:42] big budget
[00:35:43] green screen wild
[00:35:45] oh wow
[00:35:46] yeah
[00:35:48] would you watch
[00:35:49] I went to the movie and I saw this movie called
[00:35:53] M.I. Erases
[00:35:53] and it really
[00:35:55] it really changed
[00:35:57] no I'm just kidding I wouldn't see shit like that
[00:36:00] fuck that
[00:36:09] what I really watched is
[00:36:12] I watched
[00:36:13] The Walking Dead the ones that live
[00:36:15] which is the spin-off show
[00:36:17] with Rick and Michonne because
[00:36:19] I think season 7
[00:36:21] Rick
[00:36:22] looked like he died but he was picked up by these people in the helicopter
[00:36:26] and it was
[00:36:27] really cool watching I didn't catch it on AMC
[00:36:29] because I didn't have
[00:36:31] the channel because I cut cable
[00:36:32] and I just recently got it again
[00:36:35] but anyways
[00:36:36] the
[00:36:38] it's really cool seeing a character
[00:36:39] that has that
[00:36:41] strong of a screen presence and Rick
[00:36:43] and Michonne
[00:36:45] come back in this world and I thought it was
[00:36:47] really really cool and really well done
[00:36:50] and
[00:36:51] it's only six episodes long
[00:36:53] and there isn't necessarily going to be a sequel
[00:36:55] and I don't think they need one
[00:36:57] it was well done
[00:36:59] and the only other thing I watched
[00:37:01] is
[00:37:02] well I watched two things
[00:37:04] I watched Friday 13th
[00:37:06] 2009 because I got the 4K
[00:37:08] from Arrow
[00:37:10] and
[00:37:11] yeah it looks great there's new interviews on it
[00:37:14] and the new commentary
[00:37:16] with the writers is really great
[00:37:18] you know but I'll always
[00:37:19] love it for the Trent
[00:37:21] where he's like your tits are just
[00:37:23] like so juicy dude
[00:37:27] it's a fun I think it's a really fun Friday
[00:37:30] the 13th movie
[00:37:30] I think Jason's really cool in it
[00:37:34] I read
[00:37:35] that they're I think that they're coming out
[00:37:37] Jason goes to hell 4K too
[00:37:42] that yeah
[00:37:44] Arrow is?
[00:37:45] Yeah it was on Don of the Disks this morning
[00:37:47] oh jeez
[00:37:49] so they're just saying that it's coming
[00:37:51] I don't know they're usually pretty spot on
[00:37:53] with what's coming out
[00:37:54] I was made for a shout to drop their 4K
[00:37:57] box it
[00:37:58] I know but it makes me wonder
[00:38:01] that they might not because
[00:38:03] of the licensing issues because these two
[00:38:05] are new line ones
[00:38:06] so I don't know
[00:38:09] and the last thing I watched
[00:38:11] was I got this
[00:38:13] the 4K of the woman also from Arrow
[00:38:15] because it was half off at Bards of Noble
[00:38:18] and it's about this man
[00:38:21] it's actually a sequel which I didn't know
[00:38:23] who is this
[00:38:25] like shady lawyer
[00:38:27] in town and he finds
[00:38:28] this woman this feral woman
[00:38:31] in the back
[00:38:32] woods of his home and he puts her captive
[00:38:35] in his basement
[00:38:36] or cellar and his family
[00:38:39] goes along with it
[00:38:40] and it's really weird and
[00:38:43] she eventually gets out and then it gets all bloody
[00:38:45] and gory
[00:38:45] so it was kind of fun
[00:38:50] yeah and
[00:38:52] that's what I watched this week
[00:38:55] next week we're seeing Joker
[00:38:57] Foley
[00:39:00] so that'll be fun
[00:39:03] and yeah
[00:39:05] until next week Brad
[00:39:07] we'll see you at the movies
[00:40:02] and that's how you fucking do it
