[00:00:55] You are listening to Reel Nerds Podcast. The greatest podcast in all of the internet. I am
[00:01:24] Brian. I am joined by my buddy Brad. Who's that podcast? What do you partner in how
[00:01:29] do you call it? Yeah, you didn't know. Podcast is really hard. Every week we see a new movie
[00:01:39] and we podcast or experience to the world. This week it was Ghostbusters, Frozen Empire. Stay
[00:01:46] tuned! We'll recommend the film or not. Play the trailer then spoil the film. We'll
[00:01:52] talk about movie news and stuff we've watched throughout the week. Brad, we're a week older,
[00:01:57] a week wiser, any new wisdom you want to impart on me and our listeners? Yeah, Tom O'Villaux
[00:02:05] says you should always podcast with your heart. I did not podcast. You're tearing me up
[00:02:16] podcast. I was on Blu-ray.com and they reviewed the Blu-ray for the first time like two days
[00:02:29] ago. The room Blu-ray? Yeah, I don't know if I cracked into it yet or not. The reviewer
[00:02:37] was so funny. He said I get the end because they always say if they recommend buying
[00:02:42] the Blu-ray or not, he said I don't know if I can recommend buying the Blu-ray or not
[00:02:48] but it almost seems like it has to be a Blu-ray every film fan owns because it's so fucking
[00:02:54] bizarre. Agreed. Yeah, I still can't even get over that movie watching it. You don't have
[00:03:05] to get over it. You just have to have to have to have to send it into your heart. I know
[00:03:09] that might have to be one of the acquires greetings I go to just because. You only got three left
[00:03:15] so yeah. You're tearing me up. I'm Brad. Yeah, you really should have gone to the
[00:03:21] Greg Starrow once. You could see like the other side of the other perspective of yeah, someone
[00:03:28] who was on set who isn't out of his mind. Yes, somebody too in the review on Blu-ray.com
[00:03:36] he says and the kid Denny randomly shows up and the only thing that seems missing is a
[00:03:41] laugh track from a sitcom. It really does. I was just laughing because the screening who went to
[00:03:48] everybody goes, Denny! Like Norm from Cheers and so appropriate someone who's not even obviously
[00:03:57] the reviewer hasn't seen it live or anything but for him to notice those things is just really
[00:04:03] funny. Yeah, at least I just came by to buy a borrow cup of sugar like what? Sugar?
[00:04:13] Next time I see that I want to yell out at the end like who's going to pay for Denny's college.
[00:04:19] Now that Tommy's dead. What drugs did you do, Denny? Just tell me! It's not a big deal.
[00:04:28] Well, Johnny took Denny in as an orphan and is paying for his college. He wants to adopt him.
[00:04:36] Wait a minute, isn't he 18? Yeah, he's in college right?
[00:04:42] So yeah, the room. You should go see it at the S-guire because like we said last week it closes in July
[00:04:49] and still has the best pop movie popcorn I think. It does doesn't it? Yeah, it's something about it.
[00:04:55] I don't know what it is. That place was the S-guire is the first place where I fell in love with
[00:05:00] the Colonel Season's popcorn flavorings because they used to have where he could just
[00:05:07] they'd be like on the side, he made COVID change it but they would just have a bunch of
[00:05:12] seasonings after you bought the popcorn you could you know sprinkle on. Yeah, what I got is a
[00:05:19] Carzagans Humanity did a Clamonaise popcorn flavor sprinkle with like a cardee bot
[00:05:25] so I've been dumping that on a couple of patches I've gotten. It's too bad!
[00:05:31] You'd probably kill you but
[00:05:35] But you know, maybe something to work with Diane for. But I was surprised how like
[00:05:40] I don't know kind of sweet it tastes. I thought it'd be saltier.
[00:05:44] Yeah, this week, Real Nerds, we saw Ghostbusters, Frozen Empire. Brad, you recommend the latest
[00:05:54] journey to New York City? This is a tough one because I
[00:06:00] you know going into it I really thought it would be something special and it's not a bad movie
[00:06:06] like it just kind of felt kind of mid for me but it's just really frustrating when
[00:06:12] it just doesn't seem like this franchise can go anywhere because they seem a little
[00:06:17] a tepid to try anything new or dig any deeper into the lore beyond like the first movie.
[00:06:23] So yeah, it's just like you know it's just another entry that I didn't really care about by the end
[00:06:32] and I was really frustrated that the last stuff in the trailer is not in the final movie.
[00:06:36] Yeah, I noticed that too. Yeah and it takes so long to actually get to the Frozen Empire.
[00:06:44] Yeah, it's like it's not terrible but it's just like this could be so much better and
[00:06:48] there's just not going to be because a certain segment of the fan base is just going to complain
[00:06:52] about everything. Yeah, I had fun with the movie. I think it's a fun movie. There was a couple things
[00:06:57] I think that you hold it back and you alluded to some of them. Where we get to the review part,
[00:07:03] I'll mention some of the things that kind of tripped it up for me. But I mean the effects are
[00:07:10] really cool in it. I like Paul Red's character a lot and it's still a fun time at the movies
[00:07:21] and I think you know, I took my family when saw and they really liked it. So it's a fun kind
[00:07:27] of family horror film if that makes any sense. Yeah, here's the trailer for Ghostbusters Frozen Empire.
[00:07:37] For the first time in New York history, a womb full of people rose to death in July.
[00:07:46] If it's an unimaginable evil, it's the power to kill by fear itself. Like literally scared to death.
[00:07:58] Now it's headed straight for us. It's something trying to get out. Many things.
[00:08:07] It's commanding the army of the undead. I think we're all going to time. Hold on, you're in!
[00:08:19] This could bring about the end of human kind.
[00:08:28] I'm just discussing.
[00:08:38] So we pick up pretty much right where afterlife ended. The Spanglers have made it back to New York City
[00:08:44] and are out of the firehouse in a positive damage and havoc in the streets of New York right
[00:08:52] off the bat and it catches the eye again of the officials of New York and they want to shut
[00:09:00] the Ghostbusters down. But we all could burn that. Hey, remember that scene where they
[00:09:08] talked to the mayor in the first movie? Well, it happens again but it's that other guy who's a dick
[00:09:13] in the first one. Yeah, and so Ray is there and he procures supernatural things that he now takes to
[00:09:26] Winston's super secret ghost lab where they're trying to understand Ghostmore
[00:09:32] and the whole premise of the film is set up by the orb that inhabits the supernatural being
[00:09:43] that one's to basically breathe people to death. Yeah, and it's up to the Ghostbusters to stop them.
[00:09:54] We didn't mention it's like the movie actually starts out really cool with like this flashback
[00:09:57] to like early 1900s New York. Yeah, I was gonna say that like the opening is pretty actually
[00:10:02] kind of terrifying too. Yeah, I was like oh this is a good start. Yeah, you see like this
[00:10:08] fire like old timey fire truck go to this hotel and there's like this conference room with a bunch
[00:10:13] of like rich people they got frozen over and yeah they find that orb and then it kind of flashes
[00:10:18] forward to modern day where the new Ghostbusters are touring around trying to capture a ghost in
[00:10:24] the Ecto 1 and like you said causing ton of havoc and Phoebe's like so like confident about her
[00:10:33] abilities that you know she is kind of blind to the devastation she's creating. Yeah, and that's
[00:10:40] what gets her in trouble that so when they go to the mayor he's like this kid is not 18 like
[00:10:45] we approve this and like it's just like one more thing on the his quest to like shut down the Ghostbusters
[00:10:53] entirely so she gets sideline. Yeah, so yeah you learn that there's this ancient demon who actually
[00:11:03] think the character designs pretty cool but with the horns and things like that and you know they
[00:11:14] I can't remember its name it's like Garuco or something. Yeah, I think it's Caraca. Yeah, that sounds
[00:11:21] about right. So the whole movie setting it up and you know the little stay puffed guys show
[00:11:29] up again and they're really funny. Yeah, it seems as you watch it to their seems like there's
[00:11:38] plot threads that don't follow through sometimes yeah because the movie has like 20 billion characters
[00:11:44] in it and they all have to have some kind of screen time. Yeah, and that's going to be one of my
[00:11:49] complaints is I want I think Dan Acroid is great in the movie. He's invested. I think like him and
[00:11:57] Winston probably should have been the only Ghostbusters like originally like Winston should have been
[00:12:01] like okay he's the guy who's got like Ghostbusters plus going on over here they're doing like extra
[00:12:07] research there like the behind the scenes guys and then there's the firehouse guys and like Ray
[00:12:13] should have been like it should have been like Phoebe just like goes on a trip with Ray to like
[00:12:18] solve all this stuff. Yeah, and maybe the brother comes along but the brother gets sad lines
[00:12:23] just like it's slined by slimer who's just up in the attic and it never goes anywhere like sliders
[00:12:29] just up there. He's the other ghost I guess that's true yeah, but you know because that's my complaint is
[00:12:37] just like the Ghostbusters from 2016 it seems like Bill Murray doesn't want to be in the movie
[00:12:44] so stop putting him in him. Yeah, because he has that scene why is he wearing sunglasses out of
[00:12:50] nowhere? Just because just because yeah they bring him back for earlier to recreate that mind reading
[00:12:59] scene from the original movie like so much of this movie is just like hey we brought that thing
[00:13:05] you liked from the first movie back and it's updated and here it is again updated and here's
[00:13:09] it is again updated and you're just like none of it pertains to like the center of the movie which
[00:13:15] is Phoebe can't be a ghostbuster now she's alone and frustrated and like I like even she has
[00:13:22] this plot thread of like meeting a new friend a ghost friend and you're like oh I didn't realize
[00:13:29] she was lonely like yeah which would be a really fun if that was just part of the movie and you know
[00:13:37] I think it's interesting that the ghost would play chess with her and she just wants to be accepted.
[00:13:43] That's really because I thought it was like her connecting with Egon again as a ghost and like oh
[00:13:48] cool this franchise is gonna have like Egon as a like you maybe never see him visually but he'll
[00:13:53] always be like this you know helper like with her like all the time. Yeah and it's it's hard
[00:14:02] because you know I do love the franchise and I have fun watching it but there's even parts where
[00:14:11] that what's that other girl's name lucky that I totally forgot with their movie yeah and then
[00:14:18] she's kind of shoehorned in um yeah she doesn't want to do it is for that podcast was like
[00:14:25] the protege of Ray like yeah I'm be like updated for TikTok and everything yeah and then I think
[00:14:34] the funniest person was Kamauna G uh fuck I have to read his name to pronounce it right.
[00:14:41] Who me on that Johnny. Thank you. I thought he was really fun in it um
[00:14:48] but yeah I don't know and I like Bill Murray in movies but you can tell he I don't think he
[00:14:54] wants to be a ghostbuster movies so don't put him in him. Yeah I mean it seemed like like he was
[00:15:02] what he was present for it for me but like it just didn't it just felt like such fan service like
[00:15:08] he didn't he just like he just shows up like there's no real story necessity for him to be there
[00:15:15] and by the end like they're all there and you're like this just seems like overkill.
[00:15:20] Yeah I I always refer to Spider-Man No Way Home as the right way to do fan service
[00:15:27] where every character in that serves a purpose to propel the plot um and in this one it just seems
[00:15:36] oh remember them from another ghostbusters um and it and like I said it's hard because I did enjoy
[00:15:43] the movie but yeah I'm in your boat where I wanted it to be more I guess. Like there's so much
[00:15:51] potential and like it just yeah it's bogged down by like well if we don't have this in here fans
[00:15:57] are gonna be pissed off so you know include this and yeah it just feels like because like I said like
[00:16:03] in the trailer the four main ghostbusters they're never in those red winter coats like no
[00:16:12] Winston's guys are in the lab but out in the snow where they actually need them
[00:16:17] they're all wearing the classic uniforms and just like well that's a scene that was reshaped
[00:16:22] from something else like what it definitely feels like they got into the editing thing and said like
[00:16:27] you know we had a good story but someone said like well nope we got to have Bill Murray in here so
[00:16:32] change the story to fit that yeah Melness is back but she hasn't got to do anything either like
[00:16:38] she's just there um yeah because we're doing lines uh scene in the trailer where they're all in
[00:16:45] those red outfits on the roofs and Paul Russ says oh that's awesome yeah and it not in it
[00:16:53] and I was looking on uh Blu-ray dot com they already have the steelbook and it's all them in like
[00:16:59] the red suits yeah it's like there's another movie out there and I it feels like they changed
[00:17:05] a bunch of stuff in the last minute uh in you know two thirds of the movie it's just them going to
[00:17:10] different people talking about the legend of the orb in garaka and then New York doesn't even freeze
[00:17:16] over until the finale movie um yeah so very little frozen empire in it um yeah like if you broke this
[00:17:28] down into its most essential parts like you could have been Phoebe's story and Ray's story because
[00:17:34] with that scene with Winston we're talking Winston it definitely feels like there might have been a
[00:17:37] bigger arc of like Ray just feeling like he's missed out almost like a uh the world's end type arc
[00:17:44] where he wants the Ghostbusters to be back together but it's just not gonna happen
[00:17:49] so yeah I agree and there's some of the payoffs too you know and in the library Ray is attacked by
[00:18:01] the Ghost from the first one but it ends so abruptly yeah that's another like well I guess we're
[00:18:06] in a library so we got to with Ray so we got to recreate that scene like didn't need to be there
[00:18:11] they could just run out um yeah and again that library it's got the lions from the first movie on it
[00:18:18] of course they have to come to life um I mean that was in the trailer but yeah yeah and like
[00:18:24] the Pat and I was all teen is again it's just like another here's the secret lore of like instead
[00:18:30] of anyone actually like proactively discovering anything they just talked to other people and they
[00:18:35] just tell you a story it's just like oh my god like between Ray and Kumail doing that and then yeah
[00:18:43] going to Patent's characters it's like oh my god I get it this is like an ancient dude um
[00:18:50] but you know some of those scenes were still funny it's just like it just
[00:18:55] seems like it could be willed down to its essential parts and streamlined and actually like I just
[00:19:00] you know it could just be great to see some new stuff because the stuff new stuff we were promised
[00:19:03] in the trailer didn't even happen yeah yeah but you know there's even some fun things where Phoebe
[00:19:11] gets thrown in jail yeah Paul has that line he goes wow I didn't think you're gonna choose this one
[00:19:17] yeah like there's really funny stuff where like she's you know off-camera swearing profusely
[00:19:22] um and then the there's not like another weird part where she just nonchonently like oh yeah
[00:19:28] I'll just jump into this machine and have my soul sucked out yeah no big deal no one else has done it
[00:19:34] before so why not me um and it goes perfectly fine yeah and then that room has like all those other
[00:19:41] ghosts that other than the one that like shoots out is like a red specter yeah like none of those
[00:19:47] really figuring anything even that one they kind of set up who was really menacing looking
[00:19:55] yeah poke he pokes his head out but then he goes back in his like age and I don't know why
[00:20:02] yeah with that red one being out there could be like way more possessive stuff and that's another
[00:20:05] thing is like I didn't there weren't a lot of ghosts in the movie yeah there's like the very
[00:20:09] koodle one the ecto one gets possessed but doesn't like do anything you know obviously there's
[00:20:14] garaka and then the melody the you know totally normally like that's like of all the ghosts we've seen
[00:20:22] in ghost musters Laura is the only one who's like not like deformed or weird this is like
[00:20:28] a normal girl who burned down her house all right nope yeah I just I just want more out of it
[00:20:38] well more or less stuff like as they can like you know they have the whole thing with the the
[00:20:44] the science ghost like behind the scenes ghostbusters and the front line ghostbusters
[00:20:49] like what if there was just like a competing ghost company entirely that they were
[00:20:54] ghost trappers yes exactly like they have a podcast they talk about the ghost they trap
[00:21:01] yes it's three do this at four yeah you know I would almost like them to I mean obviously it's
[00:21:09] a response to because they're 2016 ghostbusters because they tried something new and everybody hated
[00:21:14] because there was women yeah but that one had tons of ghosts in it and it was different
[00:21:22] I would almost like them to go maybe a little darker and I know it's you know it aim a little bit
[00:21:29] towards kids but most of people have grown up now I'd make it a little more sinister and I don't know
[00:21:37] just how I feel yeah no I agreed like it could actually use a little more scars
[00:21:43] yeah for me like garaka is menacing but again not the
[00:21:49] big level threat the end that I thought it was gonna be especially like he free he immediately
[00:21:56] freezes like all nine of the ghostbusters and it just fights Phoebe there's like okay
[00:22:03] yeah I thought he was going to like guide you it through New York but no
[00:22:07] which would have been bad after some picking up people and ripping them in half for some shit
[00:22:11] yeah people getting spiked on those icicles yeah you could make it PG 13 you could have them
[00:22:16] pick up people and freeze them and then just like rep them into little ice pieces yeah to drop
[00:22:21] them they just shatter yeah why aren't we in charge yeah you could go up to the ghost core get
[00:22:28] the fuck out of here you guys are done you're out but I'm Dan acro i get the fuck out you're done
[00:22:39] yeah so I mean I think people should still see it I think it's fun um but I just wanted a
[00:22:45] little more I think is what I came to the conclusion of yeah me too that a ghost trap popcorn bucket
[00:22:52] though is chef's kiss it's like uh it's so awesome why did you get that as is it a regal or
[00:22:59] the AMC's I got a regal hmm yeah because when I thought the alamo they had this um we went on Friday
[00:23:08] and they had a bunch of uh ecto ones there and they had a little thing in the lobby with um
[00:23:17] ghost buster stuff and they had one of those things uh popcorn holders there nice yeah I got the
[00:23:25] pint glass for them did you walk to lobby being like some ghost uh ghost busters i'm a ghost trapper
[00:23:32] i'm i'm one of you so I saw the movie at six p.m. on
[00:23:40] Friday and I ordered a pint glass sold out you didn't just pick one up in the lobby uh they
[00:23:48] didn't have any oh when I was there they had a bunch of extras just they uh did you go to
[00:23:54] little tin or Sloan's lake Sloans uh yeah when I was at Sloan's lake they just had the 1994
[00:23:59] glasses in the lobby dang yeah they must have just cleaned them out for you out there
[00:24:04] so that's how it thursday night mmm lucky yeah it's got slime on it it's fine
[00:24:14] cool hey movie news for the week it's real news
[00:24:20] now no I didn't see anything
[00:24:29] yeah last week it was the square yeah closing and that's all it's been on my mind for news um
[00:24:37] I guess there's a penguin trailer oh that's right yeah that was uh i mean Colin Ferrell
[00:24:42] his transformation is incredible um and the trailer is interesting it looks like it's just like
[00:24:49] some kind of crime boss show yeah it's like i'm assuming like yes i'm kind of like mafia-esque
[00:24:57] crime show yeah the background somewhere yeah maybe show up at the end and punch penguin until
[00:25:05] his face falls off totally professional pickles show up and cut it off and then so I have to
[00:25:15] sew it back on joker style dude professor pig would be an awesome fucking villain for a movie
[00:25:21] yeah i mean definitely closer to the r rated 7 movie but yeah
[00:25:28] but i wonder what they're gonna do for the Batman 2 it seems they're gonna have the joker
[00:25:34] uh
[00:25:37] i know yeah i there's some way that man i heard it was gonna be hush
[00:25:43] that'd be awesome it'd be nice to get like all of bane like a modern villain or something because
[00:25:50] you know i mean i still think i would love for clay face to be the villain i know it's super fantastical
[00:25:58] but having a villain that could change into anybody and Batman can't
[00:26:02] it doesn't understand why you can't track them i think would be so cool
[00:26:06] yeah it's yeah it's in that in that matrieve universe it's tough to sell like a such a natural threat
[00:26:13] i think mr freesaby cool i think you could definitely make that
[00:26:18] really sure yeah i mean and especially if you take the animated theory story of his wife
[00:26:23] he's trying to save his wife and yeah you know and if you don't want to like have the fantastical
[00:26:31] nature of like a ice gun it could just be a guy who's just like i got a like a cold heart you know
[00:26:35] oh yeah like i shouldn't let's get it yeah yeah just be a cold blooded killer is how he got his name
[00:26:40] mr frees yep just kills people with no remorse frees is accounts
[00:26:49] you can be another one why aren't we in the Batman pitch room
[00:26:52] i know i like we're friends with james gun you never like leave this message is i don't know what's
[00:26:56] going to what an asshole i still would love to see clay face like i one of my favorite two parts ever
[00:27:04] in the animated series is the feet of clay because i think it's actually i think that's like a horror movie
[00:27:09] that two-parter and i don't know just do it if spider-man could have a mysterious Batman can have
[00:27:18] a clay face true people yeah people believe that they can believe a clay face yeah
[00:27:25] sorry the struggling actor who takes us serum that yeah transforms a minickly face
[00:27:32] or maybe you wouldn't even need him to be like the monster maybe he's just like an actor who's
[00:27:36] able to mold like these incredible masks like an adjusson or something yeah yeah
[00:27:44] or he just takes a lot of tainted bowtocks like
[00:27:48] ha ha ha ha he's able to like squish his face in weird ways yeah yeah
[00:27:56] yeah we should be in charge i know such a missed opportunity i know you listening Warner brothers
[00:28:04] hey we watch films throughout the week and a segment i call what we've been watching
[00:28:10] sure yeah this is the stuff we've been watching right which watch this week
[00:28:15] uh a couple things uh the probably the most interesting thing is i got to see death to smoochy in
[00:28:22] the theater again whoa yeah slow and zalamo really yeah not even like an anniversary it's like 12
[00:28:30] years or 22 years old um but yeah it was uh it's part of their weird Wednesday series so obviously
[00:28:37] uh they had the guy come in and introduce it and talk about like you know his film theory of
[00:28:43] everything of like why it failed in its time and why it should be reclaimed um and i agree um
[00:28:50] he did point out that it came out like early like march uh 2002 which is just a couple of months after
[00:28:57] 9-11 um and he's like you know it when it came out uh it got lambasted in reviews as like one of the
[00:29:04] worst movies ever made just like and like the humor is just like appalling and uh he just kind
[00:29:10] of pointed out that like maybe we're just like a little extra sensitive to uh you know humor at
[00:29:17] the time because everyone was so down um and uh you might be right because like the theater had
[00:29:23] a plenty like a ton of people in there and compared to when i saw it in 2002 to now this crowd
[00:29:28] loved it like really? like everything you did just like people were just gasping laughing so hard
[00:29:37] and even i was like i've seen it before and there's parts where i was like oh my god this is great um
[00:29:41] but yeah if you haven't seen death to smoochy it's uh he the film guy also pointed out that like
[00:29:47] this is a movie that was probably like six years too late because it was supposed to like parody
[00:29:51] the barney craze at the time when you kind of died out by like 98 99 and so here's this movie in
[00:29:59] 2002 you know lampooning barney as a um Edward Norton plays uh smoochy or i forget it was his actual
[00:30:10] character name is but uh he's like an earnest down to earth uh guy who wants to help kids and
[00:30:17] he increases persona smoochy and john steward is the head of this network kids net or at least one
[00:30:23] of the guys in line to be the head of the network cathode caner is like another executive and rainbow
[00:30:29] Randolph played by rob Williams is a corrupt kid show host uh who gets discovered uh he's taking
[00:30:38] bribes to get kids on the show and then he's expelled from the show smoochy takes over any plans
[00:30:43] of a debt plans of a vendetta to kill smoochy and meanwhile smoochy meets all these other cd
[00:30:51] network people who you know try to get into sell sugar and merchandise and he just won't have it
[00:30:57] and so as it goes on he just kind of exposes the corruption behind the scenes of this kid net world
[00:31:02] and yeah that's it um and it's really funny along the way as rob Williams just ascends into madness
[00:31:08] um and all these like connected mob people are like into this kid universe uh revenue stream um yeah
[00:31:20] it's really funny and people should watch it it's really hard to find uh on physical media for sure
[00:31:25] uh but it is streaming i think on apple or amazon so you can at least stream it
[00:31:31] but you have to yeah it's not free it's you have to you have to buy it but uh yeah
[00:31:35] yeah it needs to make back the money it didn't make when it was released
[00:31:38] yeah it uh like film we also said it put film before out of business
[00:31:43] because it like cost 50 million but it only made five million in its whole run
[00:31:47] so pretty bad wow uh and then last thing i watched was i've watched all the oceans 11 movies
[00:31:56] except for the original including ocean zayn not oceans eight i i didn't rewatch that one
[00:32:01] i'd seen 13 before by hadn't seen 11 and 12 and uh i don't think 12 is that bad um and 11 isn't
[00:32:07] that interesting as big as they get out there i'll kind of the same to me um really super elaborate
[00:32:13] ice that i'm just like everything really hinges on like really minute details that i don't think
[00:32:19] would uh possibly be pulled off um but still like a charismatic cast uh fun movies that
[00:32:28] you know it's whatever um and then um i saw both now you see me's the first one again the second
[00:32:35] one for the first time and yeah i don't think i didn't the second one yeah it's uh more
[00:32:41] nonsense magic like so specific like manufactured uh like hinges on a very uh specific thing
[00:32:52] going off type stuff yeah the second one the tables are turned because i forgot that mark ruffalo
[00:33:00] isn't just the detective he's the actual magician who hired them
[00:33:04] um and so in the second one he gets exposed and then he has to like save the forehorsement from
[00:33:11] being like exploited by um Daniel ragcliffs character um yeah and they put like more
[00:33:19] good freemen and jail in the first one and he breaks out and like torments him in the second one
[00:33:23] oh yeah and then uh yeah that's all i watched
[00:33:29] uh yeah i just watched a couple things too i watched a so i'm doing the thing where i have all
[00:33:34] these blu-rays i own that i haven't watched and one i watched this week is a film from
[00:33:43] 1948 called a four in a fair which i bought on a kino lorber they do a couple times a year where
[00:33:52] you can get they have five ninety nine seven ninety nine blu-rays and this was one of them
[00:33:57] and it darts uh sorry gene Arthur who i love and marlene detrick who's fun
[00:34:07] and in it um gene Arthur is a congresswoman named feebie frost so you know right away i'm on board
[00:34:15] and marlene detrick plays um a woman named erica who is uh in germany after the war and it's the united
[00:34:26] states and it's allies trying to rebuild verlin and um erica is in love with a united states captain
[00:34:40] which creates a lot of problems because she also is a nazi um i don't know the right word uh
[00:34:48] i guess an ex nazi cafe singer performer and so she's trying to forget her past and of
[00:34:59] course the captain also falls for the congresswoman named frost and it's uh just a really fun movie
[00:35:06] it's really well made billy wilders a great director and um screenwriter and it was shot in
[00:35:12] berlin not a lot of movies in the that time or on location so seeing the devastation happening in
[00:35:18] berlin that really look like in berlin after world war two is also kind of shocking um but it is a
[00:35:25] funny movie and really a really good movie and i'm glad i blind bought it and watched it um
[00:35:33] and the only other thing i watched this week is that the mall and i went into fyi and they have like
[00:35:41] just random blue rays and i bought the american pie uh bored movie set for 1299 on blue ray
[00:35:50] are those coming out of four k real soon uh probably but um not that they're like this
[00:35:56] that needed four k i haven't seen the original american pie in so long
[00:36:03] and it's still really funny um there's uh some moments in it that i forgot about that i used to
[00:36:10] stay with uh my friends all the time um i still like stifler a lot um of course now you know
[00:36:17] broadcasting a woman stripping um in your room and you know live broadcasting it over the internet
[00:36:25] is a crime back then it was innocent and fun how's it just only fans yeah and you know now
[00:36:35] i can't help again you know j pop's in my head there he is that no good pie fucker um
[00:36:42] because he fucks pie in it um but yeah it's still really funny i had fun watching it
[00:36:47] so i watched the other ones at some points uh and that's all i watch this week
[00:36:53] right um next week we're doing godzilla is it godzilla x-kong how am i supposed to say it
[00:37:01] i think so it's like like that anime thing where it's like yeah something time something um when i
[00:37:08] when i last a couple episodes ago when i mentioned that um karen wants me to watch this anime called
[00:37:15] spy x something she says you're not supposed to say the x i don't know what you're supposed to say
[00:37:20] oh that's news to me yeah so maybe when she listens to this she'll tell me that i'm stupid again
[00:37:27] and how am i supposed to say is it godzilla x-kong i don't know or godzilla x-kong the new empire
[00:37:34] yeah i'm just gonna call it that like how i refuse to say Batman v Superman um i'm just
[00:37:39] gonna call it godzilla x-kong the new empire is our film of the week so until next week
