Ep. 156: 22 Nerd Street

The Reel Nerds wrap up DCC weekend with 22 Jump Street.

[00:00:00] Hi, this is Jonathan Tearsson from the Perfect House in Sleepaway Camp and you are listening to The Reel Nerds Podcast.

[00:00:07] Welcome to Reel Nerds Podcast, unofficially the official podcast of Denver Comic Con 2015.

[00:00:36] We decided to change it up.

[00:01:06] We went into it with a better head actually.

[00:01:36] I did Walter Kenneg and a panel with both Peter Davidson and Silvester McCoy on it and then today I did Edward James Elmos.

[00:01:45] I know you did more panels than me too, that has to be at first.

[00:01:48] That has to be at first.

[00:01:52] I know last year I did it.

[00:01:55] Did you really do six last year?

[00:01:58] I know they jumped a bunch of them onto us in the last minute.

[00:02:01] I mean I never expected to get a heads up on it because they were always trying to figure out the program and they have to think about the actors and what they are going to do.

[00:02:14] I didn't even realize until we were there but Nicholas Brendan from Buffy cancelled.

[00:02:21] I hope it was hoping to do his panels so I could each year do a Buffy actor and do like a hat trick.

[00:02:26] That would be really cool.

[00:02:29] Again we want to thank everybody at Denver Comic Con Chris who is the programming director who really helps us out.

[00:02:36] All the other podcasts on Podcast Peak helped make the con cool.

[00:02:41] Every week we go see a new movie and we podcast our experience of the world.

[00:02:44] This week we saw 22 Jump Street, two short years after 21 Jump Street.

[00:02:49] We spoil the crap out of the movie so make sure you stay tuned towards the end of the show and we will tell you if the movie is good or not.

[00:02:55] We also do movie news, box office numbers, stuff we have been watching.

[00:03:00] It's alright James and some movie news and comic book. Hopefully you have a comic book for me this week.

[00:03:05] Yeah I can pull it on my ass.

[00:03:07] Cool. I love it.

[00:03:09] So you know what we will do James because you need to dig some things up.

[00:03:12] We will talk about some real news that I know of.

[00:03:15] It's real news!

[00:03:20] So while we are at Denver Comic Con today Casey Kasey passed away.

[00:03:27] Really?

[00:03:28] Yeah. I know he was in declining health and he suffered from some Parkinson's like disease, yeah a little more aggressive.

[00:03:37] So hey you have no, I have news.

[00:03:41] He passed away today at the age of 82.

[00:03:45] You know great radio voice, also the voice of Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

[00:03:50] I think I remember hearing that he did it for a really long time until like the late 90s or something was doing Shaggy.

[00:03:58] He also did like Robin in the Super Friends I think?

[00:04:01] You are right.

[00:04:03] So yeah, so sad news to start off the day but he left behind a great legacy so yeah more in case case.

[00:04:11] Also the big thing, big casting news day Jason MoMA was cast as Aquaman is I hope say his name.

[00:04:18] Oh really?

[00:04:19] MoMA, yeah.

[00:04:21] Best known for that remake or Conan.

[00:04:24] Yep.

[00:04:25] Well I would actually say he's probably best known for Game of Thrones.

[00:04:28] I forget his name in Game of Thrones so I just remember him always saying Calisi.

[00:04:33] Yeah.

[00:04:34] Drogon, Dragon, something like that.

[00:04:37] What other news you got from me James?

[00:04:39] Well there is another death this week as well because Carla, I'm going to script her last name.

[00:04:45] Lamol, Lamol.

[00:04:47] LAE, M-M-L-E.

[00:04:50] Who nobody really knows about now?

[00:04:52] She was 104 years old.

[00:04:53] One of the last I think dozen to 14 or so silent film actors who were alive.

[00:05:00] So she was in Dracula and she was in Phantom of the Opera.

[00:05:04] The silent version's way back in the day which was pretty cool.

[00:05:07] 104 like you can't you can't grieve too much like she had a really amazing long life.

[00:05:12] Just really cool to even have people from that generation so around.

[00:05:16] Oh no, it's interesting yeah because you kind of just think that they all would pass away before your time and pioneers in the film industry.

[00:05:24] Absolutely.

[00:05:25] I don't know if you guys talked about this last week but there's actually I'm pretty sure it's for sure at this point but Scott Derrickson...

[00:05:32] Oh we got a truck going by.

[00:05:34] Scott Derrick is...

[00:05:36] Yeah, Scott Derrickson is gonna do Dr. Strange.

[00:05:38] Oh of course we talked about it.

[00:05:39] 303 representing baby for the layman person that's Denver.

[00:05:43] Denver area code.

[00:05:44] So then also this week Jupiter ascending got delayed until 2015 February of next year.

[00:05:50] I think that was last week too.

[00:05:51] What's up?

[00:05:52] Yeah because I think we mentioned Jupiter ascending being delayed right?

[00:05:55] All right well that's the news.

[00:05:57] Yeah here weak behind you.

[00:05:58] I am.

[00:05:59] I am.

[00:06:00] What happens?

[00:06:01] Yeah well you know E3 was this week.

[00:06:04] There's a lot of video games.

[00:06:06] There's a lot of video games.

[00:06:07] The Mortal Kombat X was really sweet.

[00:06:10] They introduced a few new characters.

[00:06:12] Also the Uncharted 4 trailer was amazing.

[00:06:16] Looks so good.

[00:06:17] For me, the biggest surprise for me because I knew Mortal Kombat was coming and of course Uncharted was...

[00:06:25] There's a game coming out for the Wii U called Captain Toads Adventures.

[00:06:29] And Brad have you played the new Super Mario Brothers 3D land?

[00:06:34] No I have not.

[00:06:36] So in it they have these levels where you're like Captain Toad and he can't jump.

[00:06:42] And the only way he moves is you have to turn the controller and like turn the world and stuff.

[00:06:47] I mean he uses a joystick but the only way you see things as you turn the world.

[00:06:50] And so he's always getting into troubles in like these little puzzle worlds.

[00:06:54] And they decided they're going to make a whole game based on this little guy collecting stars.

[00:06:58] And the game footage they were showing was...

[00:07:02] You know a haunted mansion,

[00:07:05] a bomb level and a really cute little looking little game.

[00:07:09] And I'm really excited about it.

[00:07:11] Another shocking game that Nintendo announced is Mario Maker where you build your own Mario levels.

[00:07:18] Yeah, so that looks really cool.

[00:07:20] And you can do it in either the 8-bit Mario style or the new Super Mario Brothers style.

[00:07:24] And it just looks really really fascinating.

[00:07:27] And what's cool is I was reading that they're going to make it so you can build your own levels

[00:07:32] and then share them with your friends online and your friends can compete in your levels.

[00:07:36] So a lot of cool stuff at E3 this year.

[00:07:40] There's actually...

[00:07:43] There's a New Zelda coming out.

[00:07:45] Actually there's two New Zelda's coming out.

[00:07:47] One's like a battle game.

[00:07:50] Yeah it's like Dynasty Warriors.

[00:07:52] But they announced that before E3.

[00:07:55] Hyrule Warriors, I think it is.

[00:07:57] Hyrule Warriors.

[00:07:59] But the open world Zelda is amazing.

[00:08:01] Yeah, it's more in the graphic style of WinWaker.

[00:08:04] But the world looks so detailed and...

[00:08:08] You can look off in the distance and say like,

[00:08:11] I want to go to that peak on that mountain.

[00:08:13] You'll spend like a day getting that peak.

[00:08:15] And you'll run into random stuff along the way and it's awesome.

[00:08:18] It is, it's really cool.

[00:08:20] I think Nintendo really needed to come out and prove that they could...

[00:08:23] Put their dick on the table.

[00:08:24] Yeah, and say, hey these are the cool games that we need to put out.

[00:08:28] And actually I was the first time I was excited for E3 in a long time

[00:08:31] because they had some cool game announcements and...

[00:08:35] Yeah, it was just lots of fun.

[00:08:37] And yeah, it's all I can say about it.

[00:08:39] A Metal Gear looked amazing.

[00:08:41] Metal Gear 5.

[00:08:43] I mean, I'll play it.

[00:08:45] I'll play it for...

[00:08:47] They're ridiculous.

[00:08:49] Yeah, the most of them are.

[00:08:51] And then there's a couple...

[00:08:53] There's some games that have been announced that are starting to get closer to release.

[00:08:57] Like the Evil Within, I think looks pretty interesting.

[00:08:59] It's made by the guy who made Resident Evil.

[00:09:01] Tryly for Bloodborne was cool but I've never played one of the Dark Souls games

[00:09:05] but it wasn't really like a gameplay trailer.

[00:09:08] It tells you nothing about what the game actually is.

[00:09:10] It was just gruesome and looked cool.

[00:09:12] And it now's a new Tomb Raider 2.

[00:09:14] It's like Rise of the Raider or something.

[00:09:16] It's not a very good name but...

[00:09:18] It does matter.

[00:09:20] It does seem team-up ballplay.

[00:09:22] And as long as you can shoot people with arrows...

[00:09:24] Yes, man.

[00:09:26] The most satisfying bow...

[00:09:28] One of my favorite things to do is crawl in the little catacombs

[00:09:30] and there's one guy who's like...

[00:09:32] Hey, man!

[00:09:34] Do you see the game this name?

[00:09:36] And then I shoot him back ahead.

[00:09:38] And he's like...

[00:09:40] And then the music gets really dramatic and then it fades out

[00:09:44] because I kill him so fast with my bow.

[00:09:46] Yeah.

[00:09:48] Yeah, that's great.

[00:09:50] Yeah, you need to pick up Tomb Raider if you haven't played Tomb Raider yet.

[00:09:52] Brad.

[00:09:54] All the cool people play Tomb Raider.

[00:09:56] So that's some movie slash video game news.

[00:10:00] Next we will do the box office numbers.

[00:10:06] This is the box office desk.

[00:10:10] James was sick last week in the movie that me and Brad saw

[00:10:14] was the Edgittemaro which was 26 million.

[00:10:18] 28.7.

[00:10:20] The number one movie in the country that was the fault in our stars

[00:10:22] which was 58.48.

[00:10:26] Yeah, 48.

[00:10:28] It crashed really hard.

[00:10:30] It did like 26 million or something on Friday

[00:10:32] and I had one of the steepest Friday to Saturday drops of all time.

[00:10:34] Yeah, faulted.

[00:10:36] Yeah.

[00:10:38] No, Edgittemaro is actually playing really well

[00:10:42] like holding really well because it's...

[00:10:44] Falling from...

[00:10:46] Fall was really front loaded in the least.

[00:10:48] Oh yeah, extremely front loaded.

[00:10:50] More so than like a superhero movie.

[00:10:52] Yeah, Edgittemaro at least is...

[00:10:54] I mean worldwide it's already made its money back

[00:10:56] so it's not like...

[00:10:58] No and everybody should go see Edgittemaro.

[00:11:00] That was a really cool movie.

[00:11:02] Box office mojo for supplying us with those box office numbers.

[00:11:08] This is the stuff we've been watching.

[00:11:10] I did that James because I know if you're ready

[00:11:12] for the next segment.

[00:11:14] I am.

[00:11:16] Are you? Yeah.

[00:11:18] This is DVD and Blu-ray releases.

[00:11:20] DVD release and Blu-ray!

[00:11:24] What's coming out next week? I don't even know.

[00:11:26] So, House of Card and Season 2 is getting its Blu-ray release next week

[00:11:30] so if you don't have Netflix and...

[00:11:32] Or you just like buying things that Netflix makes

[00:11:34] then this is your chance.

[00:11:36] The big one though is the Grand Budapest Hotel.

[00:11:38] Comes out next week.

[00:11:40] So, Brad, now is your chance.

[00:11:42] Are you gonna get that Brad or you gonna wait till the criterion?

[00:11:44] I don't know.

[00:11:46] I really don't know.

[00:11:48] I might just get it and then make my own criterion cover for it

[00:11:52] until four years from now when it does come out.

[00:11:54] Oh that's true.

[00:11:56] It takes a while for them to come out on criterion.

[00:11:58] Fantastic Fox was 2009.

[00:12:00] Yeah.

[00:12:02] And so, that's just got a criterion this year.

[00:12:04] So, see if you see Wolf.

[00:12:06] That was 2004.

[00:12:08] But that's only because they already released it.

[00:12:10] Yeah I was gonna say I think that was...

[00:12:12] That had a DVD criterion and then it came out as a criterion.

[00:12:14] Oh really? Oh okay.

[00:12:16] Cool.

[00:12:18] I think no Darjory Lincoln yet.

[00:12:22] I think Life Aquatic was the last one to come out as a criterion.

[00:12:26] Yeah.

[00:12:28] That's too bad.

[00:12:30] They had to just do that.

[00:12:32] Is there a criterion of Moonrise Kingdom?

[00:12:34] And there is not.

[00:12:36] So Teen Wolf season three part two.

[00:12:38] So, for all those MTV watchers out there.

[00:12:40] Joe.

[00:12:42] Oh yeah.

[00:12:44] Yeah. You're a big fan of Teen Wolf.

[00:12:46] Oh dude.

[00:12:48] So hot.

[00:12:50] I heard there's like weird leprechauns or something on that show.

[00:12:52] I don't know what's going on in it.

[00:12:54] I've never heard anything.

[00:12:55] I always have articles and I always read the articles.

[00:12:57] So, I keep by finger on the pulse of what's happening in the entertainment world.

[00:13:01] And every time I read an article for that show or vampire diaries, I'm like what?

[00:13:05] I mean they seem very out of order because I don't realize

[00:13:09] and there's really nice stuff this week.

[00:13:11] Joe which is a movie starting at this cage that kind of looks like mud.

[00:13:15] But also it looks really neat.

[00:13:17] I'm gonna probably check it out.

[00:13:19] That comes out this week.

[00:13:21] The Lego movie is on here.

[00:13:23] It says the Lego movie.

[00:13:25] Blu-ray, DVD combos.

[00:13:27] Yeah. No. The Lego movies this week.

[00:13:29] I need to go pre-order that so we'll get here on Tuesday.

[00:13:33] On Too Late.

[00:13:35] It's Sunday.

[00:13:37] Sunday? Yeah probably.

[00:13:39] Anyway. But still, go get that because it's like...

[00:13:41] Yeah. That movie's amazing.

[00:13:43] Sure. Yeah.

[00:13:45] Absolutely. Thank you.

[00:13:47] I think that might be it.

[00:13:49] There's a re-release of Joyride 3 Roadkill.

[00:13:51] Nice. Well maybe a lot of things I want to compete against the Lego movie.

[00:13:55] Yeah, I wouldn't want to.

[00:13:57] Oh, oh, here it is. I found it.

[00:13:59] There was a hidden gem this week.

[00:14:01] Sinbad's new special Make Me Oneahala is out this week.

[00:14:05] Oh, H-O-L-L-A.

[00:14:07] H-O-L-L-L-A. Make Me Oneahala.

[00:14:09] Ha-la.

[00:14:11] But I'm actually not interested in this one because he's not wearing anything made at a windbreaker on the cover of the DVDs.

[00:14:15] He's not wearing a windbreaker? No, he's not.

[00:14:17] He's not happy to Sinbad.

[00:14:19] Remember when he was in the first daughter or was that like he's a president's ex-wife?

[00:14:23] Oh, yes. Yes.

[00:14:25] I loved that movie. What was the movie called? I forget it.

[00:14:27] First kid.

[00:14:29] First kid. Because that wasn't the one with the first...

[00:14:31] The president's... my date with the president's daughter was a Disney movie.

[00:14:35] Like a Disney Channel movie.

[00:14:37] That's the other one I get confused with.

[00:14:39] But yeah, first kid, where the kid had like a special hidden space in the wall.

[00:14:45] And then I think he went and played VR at the mall.

[00:14:47] I won't point in the movie because it was the 90s and Sinbad was cool.

[00:14:51] And you played VR at the mall? Did you ever play the VR at Walt Disney World?

[00:14:53] No, no, no. When I went with my wife on our honeymoon, this is only three years ago.

[00:14:59] Oh really? Yeah.

[00:15:01] So at Disney World they have a thing called Disney Quest.

[00:15:03] Which is a really cool arcade because you pay...it's like $35 to get in.

[00:15:07] But all the video games in it are on free play.

[00:15:11] So you can play them as much as you want.

[00:15:13] And they have virtual reality like Aladdin. It's pretty bad.

[00:15:17] But they have like this really cool like river riding.

[00:15:21] But yeah, it's $35 all the games are like turned off to auto play.

[00:15:25] But the only thing they don't have is Mortal Kombat's and them.

[00:15:29] Oh! Also the documentary The Final Member comes out this week.

[00:15:33] Which is that documentary that the Alamo was pushing for a while about the guy who has like a penis museum.

[00:15:39] And there are a couple dudes who are like competing to get their penises in his penis museum.

[00:15:43] And one guy is going to do it while he's still alive.

[00:15:45] Yeah!

[00:15:47] Kidding an American flag tattoo on his weeder.

[00:15:49] Man...anyway.

[00:15:51] Is that it?

[00:15:53] That's it.

[00:15:55] Alright, this is the stuff we've been watching.

[00:15:57] So yeah, this is the stuff we've been watching.

[00:16:01] Lane week for me.

[00:16:03] I really watched one new thing.

[00:16:05] I mean, I've been watching a lot of South Park Dick van Dyken friends.

[00:16:09] But you know, everybody knows what's going on in those.

[00:16:13] But I watched Swamp Thing. It's West Craven's movies.

[00:16:17] That's why.

[00:16:19] A movie I've never seen and actually has not too bad of like critics or kind of mixed on it

[00:16:25] And to like favoring it.

[00:16:27] Something like it's like 6.9 on IMDb which is kind of high for a cheapy genre film.

[00:16:33] And I've never read the comic.

[00:16:37] But I remember seeing Return of Swamp Thing.

[00:16:39] It was start Heather Locklear in like the early 90s or something like that.

[00:16:45] And this one is a PG rated movie one.

[00:16:47] Woo!

[00:16:48] Yeah, it's weird.

[00:16:50] And this Swamp Thing is played by Ray Wise.

[00:16:53] I was really hoping you were going to say Ray Romano.

[00:16:55] That had been great, Ray.

[00:16:57] And Adrian Barbot plays this research lady who goes out into the Everlades in Florida.

[00:17:03] Where they're having problems with something.

[00:17:09] Plants and no one wants to stay out there because he's one guy got eaten by an alligator or something.

[00:17:15] That they don't show which is a bummer.

[00:17:17] And so anyways when she's out there of course there's like gang members who want this secret formula that Ray Wise who plays a doctor.

[00:17:24] And then they end up like dumping it on him and he goes out into the swamp.

[00:17:28] And the swamp mixes with him and he becomes Swamp Thing.

[00:17:32] Yeah.

[00:17:33] And there's a really gratuitous nude scene in it.

[00:17:36] Not that you like see that.

[00:17:37] But it's PG.

[00:17:38] Yeah, well in the early days of the rating system you could have boobs and PG movies back in Titanic.

[00:17:44] Yeah.

[00:17:45] So anyways it's not like you see like it zooms in on her.

[00:17:49] But she's literally in the swamp.

[00:17:51] Okay guys, she's in a swamp taking a bath.

[00:17:55] And the music is like really romantic and she's like slowly raising her arm to wash it.

[00:18:02] And then the camera just slowly pans down so you see a little bit of nip.

[00:18:06] And the only reason I think it's gratuitous is because it's like why is she cleansing herself in a swamp?

[00:18:11] That's weird.

[00:18:12] Doesn't make any sense.

[00:18:14] And it is exotic.

[00:18:18] Then all these people want this formula to turn the doctor into Swamp Thing.

[00:18:22] Like the main bad guy that's all he wants is his formula.

[00:18:25] Yeah.

[00:18:26] And so he uses the formula on his like hired thug guy and it turns him into like a little monkey guy.

[00:18:31] And it's funny too because you know, so the big guy drinks this formula.

[00:18:35] And he's like oh my god, I'm changing and he goes underneath the table and he jumps up and he's like a midget in a monkey suit.

[00:18:41] But his clothes shrink too.

[00:18:42] So I don't know how's going on there.

[00:18:45] And then he gets like super shredder.

[00:18:48] Yes.

[00:18:49] And at the end, so the bad guy drinks it for himself and he turns into this really horrible like pig looking.

[00:18:58] Like it's the worst looking costume you've ever seen.

[00:19:01] Like the man whatever it's still kind of fun.

[00:19:03] It's like really cheesy but yeah two monsters fighting whatever.

[00:19:07] You know I've seen worse movies.

[00:19:08] Is the is the swamp thing costume in again?

[00:19:10] It's not bad but there's some parts.

[00:19:12] I don't know if it's because it's the blue ray.

[00:19:14] You can actually see like his skin through some of the green.

[00:19:17] Oh and it might be the blue ray because it has such high resolution.

[00:19:20] And he you know, the swamp thing is pretty cool but there's this one guy and I was always laughing because the swamp thing keeps on popping up to save these Adrian Barbos character in this little black kid.

[00:19:32] Like of course, there's some little black kid who works at a thank gas station.

[00:19:35] He's trying to save her and every time he shows up, he grabs this one guy who's one of the goons and always throws them in the water.

[00:19:41] This guy is always being thrown in the water and it's the same guy every time.

[00:19:45] I don't want to say it's like four or five times whether he's in a pontoon boat, in a canoe.

[00:19:51] Yeah, he's just always thrown in water and the swamp thing doesn't even really he kills like a couple guys but most of them shoot themselves.

[00:20:01] There's the monster they like shoot their machine guns and they shoot each other.

[00:20:05] Yeah, whatever funny.

[00:20:07] It's a screen factory so that the special features are cool.

[00:20:11] And it's really cool because Adrian Barbos is saying that West Craven actually ran out of money halfway filming it.

[00:20:17] So that's why the last monster looks like shit and the music stunned by the guy who did Friday the 13th and he uses a lot of the same cues of Friday the 13th.

[00:20:27] So it's really distracting too.

[00:20:29] How early on to West Craven do this?

[00:20:32] This early in his career?

[00:20:34] 82.

[00:20:35] So yeah, I was before nightmare in Elm Street.

[00:20:37] Yeah, I think it is a movie he did right after last house on the left.

[00:20:41] So yeah, he wanted to prove, I guess Adrian Barbos was saying in the special features that he wanted to prove that he could make a studio film.

[00:20:49] Michael Euclins a producer on it.

[00:20:51] No way.

[00:20:53] DC comic character.

[00:20:55] Yeah, that's funny.

[00:20:57] Yeah, so I watched this week James.

[00:20:59] So I also only really crossed one more thing off my list.

[00:21:03] Which was a little movie that I've known about for a while and like I knew it was important but it's sort of important in a weird way.

[00:21:14] So I saw Steven Soderberg's Sex Lives video tape, which if you don't know is one of the handful of movies that sort of credited for starting what is now understood to be independent film.

[00:21:28] Inside of Hollywood, you know like it's that weird gray area where it's not real independent film.

[00:21:35] It's like it's independent film inside the studio in some ways.

[00:21:39] Like he made it independently but you know that's where Steven Soderberg and the Cohen Brothers and all those guys like the idea of a Fox search light or a focus features.

[00:21:47] Those companies kind of came out of this movie.

[00:21:52] And it is it's good.

[00:21:55] It's worth checking out it.

[00:21:57] If you look at it now, I think it reads a little bit like a somewhat amateur kind of sort of script but for the if you understand it at the time it was a big deal because basically it tells the story of

[00:22:12] we start off with this woman who is clearly sort of sexually repressed and she's married and we find out that her husband is sleeping with her sister.

[00:22:21] And then incomes Christian Slater who is this friend of her husbands who they haven't they haven't really hey I'm going to fuck you.

[00:22:31] That's my Christian Slater.

[00:22:33] Does he save that a lot?

[00:22:37] It's just really weasily in his movies, you know what I mean like there's something about him is like Christian Slater yeah.

[00:22:44] I used to be a good actor they like do shows on NBC that are canceled after five episodes.

[00:22:49] You know what I mean I was in Heather.

[00:22:54] Oh, he's I actually think he's really good here but he he's this guy who we find out is impotent and what he does is he goes right he's like going around the country for some reason he has a bunch of money so he doesn't like ever work

[00:23:11] he just travels around the country and he meets women and then he videotapes them and he asks them like he interviews them about sex right on these videotapes and then and to varying degrees.

[00:23:23] And he ends up he does it with this woman's sister and then he ends up like this whole thing starts to blow up and she starts to realize that her husband is you know cheating on her so she ends up doing the video.

[00:23:39] And through all of that you know has this great awakening and then you know like all of the like lies that these people have been telling each other we can down Ravel.

[00:23:50] And it is it's a very dialogue heavy movie you know there's no action at all it's really just about these relationships the way it's shot is a very sort of early 90s independent film school kind of thing.

[00:24:06] But you see a lot of the groundwork for understanding like okay why this became a trend and it is it's a really interesting movie the performances are all great.

[00:24:18] And the blue is alright I think it's stolen from like an old like DVD release basically like the features are all just copied over but there are some interesting like interviews that they they got with Stephen Sadabert like sitting on a bench just talking about that movie.

[00:24:35] I don't know why they were interviewing him on a park bench but it's pretty interesting just listen to him talk about where that movie comes from.

[00:24:43] And there's no actual sex in the movie at all because it's not really what it's about.

[00:24:50] But I think it's worth checking out for sure. Have you ever seen it?

[00:24:54] I have many years ago I was gonna ask what is your criteria for your well list of shame because you have no like rhyme or reason behind it.

[00:25:02] There's not there they're all movies that for one reason or another are things that I've felt are important or movies that like either everyone has seen like I feel like everyone has seen like airplane or catty shark right.

[00:25:18] Or there movies that as a like film buff or you know want to be film historian or movies and I feel like I have missed you know.

[00:25:27] So yeah stuff like it yeah it spans anywhere from the Mary Poppins movies to shoot I'm trying to think about to a movie like this right that has a place in film history you know I could have I've seen blood simple but I could have put blood simple on there in the exact same light.

[00:25:47] Because those two movies sort of started that whole trend in the 90s or clerks right if I'd never seen clerks clerks is an important movie and not just for what it did for Kevin Smith.

[00:25:59] But that that whole trend in the mid in the early 90s of movies going to can film festival or Sundance and blowing up getting a whole lot of attention

[00:26:12] and actually becoming like nationally distributed movies started with sex lies and videotape and started that guys whole career like Stephen Sattaburg wouldn't be where he is without that one.

[00:26:24] He's arguably arguably one of the more influential young directors of the last 20 years.

[00:26:29] So that's why that one shows up.

[00:26:32] And some of them are just ones where it's like I don't know I felt like I should have seen this movie 10 years ago and I never did.

[00:26:38] Yeah, like return to the living dead for sure.

[00:26:43] Yeah, like return to the living dead really like having it on that list is a little bit weird but we've talked about it plenty so that's why yeah Brad would you see.

[00:26:56] I watched a web series called the real nerds pod show you over and over again making sure it was okay to package yeah Ryan did too.

[00:27:08] I did watch every episode I think seven times because I had a blue ray and a DVD.

[00:27:15] At least six well no because I watched the first blue ray you gave me once to point out there's anything wrong with it and then I watched both the blue ray and the DVD every version of every episode to see if we had any mistakes in it.

[00:27:28] Which there's an uncensored version a censored version a commentary version and then there's a play all for each of those.

[00:27:36] I'm really excited to get home and watch the bloopers yeah and then we had to watch the special features and one of those special features is almost an hour long.

[00:27:43] So yeah a lot of a lot of our own show this week and then Mr. Show and Dick Van Dyke in between.

[00:27:52] I saw I watched Indiana Jones and last crusade again last night at the S. Quire and that was fun except for the parts where I fell asleep during.

[00:28:02] I'm inexplicably like I don't watch did you fall asleep during a lot of the action parts like I would I don't know the tank scene.

[00:28:10] The book yeah the tank I miss the whole while huh that one goes on for a while it was going on I was just like I was so exhausted that my brain like I felt like I was watching the whole movie

[00:28:21] and then I like snap into reality again thinking like oh my god I just missed the movie is bizarre like I miss the beginning of the boat or I missed all of the library.

[00:28:31] Oh wow.

[00:28:32] It's one of my favorite parts yeah and then I like I re-emerged it like the boat chase and then um...

[00:28:40] Did you see the movie at all or did you just dream certain sections of it?

[00:28:43] I watched the movie and then at the castle like he goes rescue his dad and then somewhere between when he shoots all the Nazis and this gives the room.

[00:28:53] The next thing I emerged there on the motorcycle heading towards Berlin so I miss large cool chunks of the movie yeah.

[00:29:03] I guess I did see them get tied up and talked to Donovan.

[00:29:07] Would you miss the fire and the all that cool stuff?

[00:29:11] Yeah and then the tank chase scene which was awesome yeah I woke up when he was like about to get splattered into the rock wall he's hanging from the cannon and then he...

[00:29:21] What an amazing sequence.

[00:29:22] The music rises up and he gets that like pissed off face and he goes there punches that Nazi in the face and knocks him down and yeah.

[00:29:30] Awesome movie.

[00:29:32] I might be able to read any any out of Jones and the people there were like there's one guy who came in with food in his hand he's like at the time it was like 1130

[00:29:42] He's like eight people here what's wrong with you people why isn't more people is the best Indiana Jones why are you here why are you here why are you here what the hell yeah he didn't get to me though so I was like I'm gonna like I'm gonna get some sour fresh kids.

[00:29:55] I see a movie in silence sit down man but yeah is a good crowd a lot more people showed up later and then the main thing I did watch was the

[00:30:07] because I got the breaking bad blue race at they released without all the bells and whistles just the discs and the beautiful art in a bonus disc which is

[00:30:17] this lid inside the cover of the box which is a magnumation of bonus features from like all the seasons like extra features and extra promos for seasons that aired on AMC.

[00:30:31] I'm not even through the disc yet it's I've watched I think like two and a half hours with the stuff I'm having got all the features and it's really fascinating to watch them make that show

[00:30:45] and how just smart everything is and how cool everyone is with each other I guess. Is that the set that's like the drum? No I got I got the it's just the standard box. It folds up and then inside is like all the cover art from the individual sets but as a paper you know nice beautiful paper folding yeah it's really nice really nice and the like the blue ray has the gold

[00:31:14] accents on it the gold foil accents on it. Yeah it's pretty cool fits in my shell better than an oil drum with little like plasticky disc trays and an apron just cool for some fans but I just like simplicity and yeah yeah anyway

[00:31:34] I hope I'm going to be going through the rest of those discs eventually now that I don't have to make my own web series discs and yep I guess that's it for me. I still have never seen an episode of Breaking Bad. Fuck Breaking Bad

[00:31:50] and you know what you know what fuck Brian Cranston. Oh I got caught up on 24 it's what is what we because it's six? I mean I told you halfway through the whole story flip flops and it totally happened.

[00:32:10] Yep. I'm not going to spoil it because 24 is awesome but yeah it's I fucking love 24 there's just moments because you know 24 is so well known and there's so many beats it has to hit that when it does turn on its head and they still surprise you you know it's really great.

[00:32:30] And this is like right now they have like three storylines going like three different like they're all connected but like they all have their individual kind of plot thread and yeah this week all three of those like deviated into because for me the series up to this point was like oh they're doing all the same stuff again like last week.

[00:32:53] For this one the thing was that once again there's a bowl inside CTO you know like really really season nine. Yes I see IA whatever basically the same plot device yeah so I was fresh to then and then I watched this week's episode and like that kind of leads to certain twists that it's like now I was saying like there was a lot of things are like oh they're doing the same shit again I can't like the shows end.

[00:33:23] And then you can start from scratch you can try new things you can think outside the box and then after this week's episodes like wow now it's getting different so hopefully it doesn't disappoint next week and keeps going on this trajectory.

[00:33:38] Yeah.

[00:33:40] Yeah it's very cool.

[00:33:42] You know that the last okay Brad thought of something else.

[00:33:46] The whole reason I brought 24 in the first place is like breaking bad has moments that are like those cool moments like in 24 like that excitement so I hope you.

[00:33:56] Get past your stigma and give it a shot sometime I've got it so I'll just give it to you.

[00:34:01] Nice is really not a stigma but you know I don't know why I've never watched it you know what I mean it's not they have anything against it or I just never watched it.

[00:34:10] Not having a reason why.

[00:34:12] That's really good.

[00:34:14] It's like you know you don't know why you haven't seen these stuff it's just you just never.

[00:34:21] It's like you didn't I didn't catch on when it was really popular and then it's almost ended I'm like I don't know if I.

[00:34:28] Yeah yeah that's a lot of stuff to take on too like it's a because if you do like that show you will you will devour that show.

[00:34:37] Especially now that it's all out and you just as a thing like most of us had to watch it as they came out and just patiently wait week to week.

[00:34:45] Now looking back at them like man if you handed that show to somebody they could they would just.

[00:34:50] They'd finish it in a month and the first season is what seven episodes well yeah the second was like 13 so he can burn through it pretty fast yeah.

[00:34:58] What's like one of the things like madman is the final season is going over two years now yeah that's stupid was the first show that did that on AMC was it breaking bad no.

[00:35:11] No because there's another show that I think it is breaking bad I think they did half of the final season did it but yeah on AMC I don't know it was a sprang is I want to say breaking bad though the final season was aired in two parts.

[00:35:25] Yeah yeah breaking bad but I don't remember amc doing it ever any other time so pranos did it was the other one battle start black to get it but I can't think of another one like that.

[00:35:42] I guess if let the the breathe I guess is alright I don't know yeah it's weird yeah cool hey read this comic book according to James.

[00:35:54] We stop nerds it's a comics quarter so this is a weird one that I haven't talked about I don't think before but I was reminded of because I was giving out some issues of it this week at our table.

[00:36:07] So I'm going to recommend that it's not it's not ongoing now but you go to color to cleanse cards and comics and pick up the trades of fear agent.

[00:36:16] Do you know what color of coins cards and comics you can pick up the first season of real nerds pod show.

[00:36:21] No I didn't can oh my goodness yeah so make sure you go there pick that up.

[00:36:26] Oh yeah and you can rent a one on cool facts and downing you can rent it right across from the sixth and downing I meant right across from the square.

[00:36:34] So it's like $3 to rent.

[00:36:37] Sure I actually didn't check the price.

[00:36:40] Come on.

[00:36:42] Three bucks for hours and hours of entertainment yeah at least two and a half.

[00:36:47] Yeah the bloopers are you know anyway so fear agent written by Mark Render and I originally picked it up because the art is by Tony Moore who Tony Moore was the original artist on the walking dead who I adore.

[00:37:04] Just really cool and fear agent is let's see it's about sort of a.

[00:37:12] Alcoholic Texas trucker space man basically he flies in a he's flying around in space in like a very traditional style rocket you know like the teardrop shaped rockets with like the big fin landing gear you know like you'd see on a looney tunes commercial.

[00:37:29] I never actually watch the ones I would only see commercial for it and wish that someone would let me watch the looney tunes my parents thought that I would teach me bad lesson really no that's going to say appearance don't seem like that at all.

[00:37:43] Yeah yeah so he flies around in space and she basically has these fairly cookie action heavy adventures in space and there's often running into pretty grotesque.

[00:37:58] Monsters and things like that let's put it age limit on those free comics you're giving out because a bunch of kids took fear agent I know and there's some.

[00:38:08] Yeah from time to time there's some some some grosser or you know gory moments in that book but it's still really cool and the character man who's named escapes you now anyway he's really cool.

[00:38:23] And an interesting read Mark Render is always one recommender sorry.

[00:38:28] Rupermender's always one he's like he's doing deadly class right now right yeah yeah he's one of those guys that every now and then he'll let himself go and he'll get really crazy like did you play bullet storm

[00:38:42] because he wrote for bullet storm and that game was like yeah it was just chock full of like really bizarre insults and like you know just super off the wall kind of writing and every now and then that pops up in fear agent as well.

[00:38:55] It's a really neat book that's worth checking out any art is gorgeous yeah so yeah go check out fear agent you can get it like I said in trades or you can probably find some of the issues there at coins cards you can yeah and if not Andrew can find them for you.

[00:39:10] Yeah Andrew drew he was doing a cool thing at Denver Comic Con where for one dollar he would sketch something sad for you and so he drew a sad green goblin for me.

[00:39:21] He's doing a shocker for James which he's still working on when I was at his booth he was working on your sad Ninja Turtle.

[00:39:26] Oh so Andrew there is and he's really talented in this funny he was saying is I'm not a good artist and his art's really good.

[00:39:34] His art's great yeah.

[00:39:35] He's a sad grizzly that just brought joy to me because he looked like a stuffed bear you know with just the head cut out and he's crying and he's all like slouched over and it's pretty brilliant.

[00:39:47] That's awesome.

[00:39:48] It's pretty brilliant so yeah Dr. Andrew hook up with fear agent.

[00:39:53] Yeah this week we went into 22 Jump Street James should people go see 22 Jump Street sorry Brad.

[00:40:00] Absolutely this whole series remains to be one of the smartest and funniest comedies that they're making like just it's absolutely brilliant.

[00:40:12] Brad?

[00:40:13] Brad you go see it.

[00:40:16] Yes as soon as you can I'm going to try and go back and see as soon as I can it's someone asked me today if it was funnier than the first one I was like yes because the first one I thought was you know it was funny.

[00:40:29] I laughed this second one I laughed the whole time I think yeah so yes go see it.

[00:40:36] Yeah totally go see it it's really funny and we'll talk about after trailer but I do a weird feeling in ours that me all of us got the really big meta movie jokes in it.

[00:40:47] And everybody else is just laughing at you know the silliness of it but here's the trailer for 22 Jump Street probably the red band one I think you can fit.

[00:40:55] Yeah.

[00:41:00] A relationship is something that requires constant work.

[00:41:03] Doc I just feel like sometimes he's not even trying anything seriously he's clingy he's terrified of being by himself given all these strong feelings why don't you hold hands.

[00:41:12] Um he's literally reaching out for you.

[00:41:15] I'm going to hold my hand.

[00:41:16] You got to interlock it though if you don't interlock it might as well be just be friends and not partners.

[00:41:22] How you bitches like Jump Street now.

[00:41:26] Hey I got a big ass raise the baby sit you two fuckers again.

[00:41:30] Going back to high school.

[00:41:31] No you dumb motherfucker you're gonna ask look like you're about to go into MC state.

[00:41:36] Play on play.

[00:41:37] Why every time you speak I'm gonna throw the fuck up.

[00:41:44] Hop play.

[00:41:45] Be back chair.

[00:41:46] Hilarious shirt that signals we drink alcohol.

[00:41:48] Are you two fucking around the school again?

[00:41:50] It's the same case.

[00:41:51] Do the same thing.

[00:41:53] It's not exactly the same case because one of us got laid last night.

[00:41:56] We're talking missionary.

[00:41:58] We're talking missionary.

[00:42:00] Missionary.

[00:42:01] We're talking when I'm on top and she's on her back.

[00:42:04] Damn.

[00:42:05] Get the fuck back to work.

[00:42:06] We need an expert to consult.

[00:42:08] I heard someone's bringing a shit ton of that stuff down to parts of Mexico for spring break.

[00:42:12] That's your lady motherfucker.

[00:42:13] I know what we don't know who it is.

[00:42:15] We don't know who it is.

[00:42:16] That's you.

[00:42:17] That doesn't sound anything like me.

[00:42:19] It's not not you.

[00:42:20] Get it!

[00:42:21] Close your eyes and tell me who's talking right now.

[00:42:23] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:42:24] I should be eating a little bitch.

[00:42:26] You gotta take your thing to the next level guys.

[00:42:29] Spring break, motherfucker.

[00:42:35] Ever night?

[00:42:36] You never know.

[00:42:37] Oh, why are you gonna put it there?

[00:42:39] It feels right.

[00:42:43] What are they, Vato?

[00:42:44] And my partner here, he wanna see the front up.

[00:42:48] Would you find these gringo, man?

[00:42:50] The fucking month for their son's concertation.

[00:42:52] Oh, that's the sound of the bullet!

[00:42:54] Oh, my wrist!

[00:42:56] I miss the light they glowing.

[00:42:57] Remember me?

[00:42:58] I'm your best nightmare.

[00:42:59] I'm your worst nightmare.

[00:43:00] Go go!

[00:43:01] I'm gonna put it there.

[00:43:02] I'm gonna put it there.

[00:43:03] Got the limbo in the cabinet.

[00:43:05] I'm gonna put it there.

[00:43:06] Get up and teach a cat.

[00:43:07] Get in there.

[00:43:10] No!

[00:43:11] What?

[00:43:12] What were you doing?

[00:43:13] Why'd you try to kiss me?

[00:43:14] I ain't fucking trying to kiss you?

[00:43:16] No, you're leading in again.

[00:43:17] What a kiss!

[00:43:18] This is the most uncomfortable fist fight I've ever been in.

[00:43:24] Hey, last time there's a grenade in my shorts.

[00:43:26] Get the cat out.

[00:43:27] That's my dick!

[00:43:28] What about that?

[00:43:29] That's my dick off him!

[00:43:31] What the?

[00:43:32] Police!

[00:43:35] On that exact note, Ryan, there was this moment when

[00:43:39] I specifically remember when he's walking back from that girl's room

[00:43:45] and all you see is this wide shot of the campus and the campus is just covered in women who are carrying their shoes

[00:43:52] and doing the walker shame.

[00:43:53] It's really subtle at first as it pans back and the three of us were laughing

[00:43:57] and no one else was laughing,

[00:43:59] and then the audience got it and she was laughing.

[00:44:01] And they pat ourselves on the back for being so smart

[00:44:04] but it's just subtle stuff like that.

[00:44:06] That's why that script is so smart.

[00:44:07] The script is...

[00:44:08] No, no, you're fine.

[00:44:11] The script is so genius because they are telling you what they're doing in it.

[00:44:16] They are telling you exactly what's happening.

[00:44:20] They will...

[00:44:21] Ice Cube will literally tell you that we are making the same movie with last time.

[00:44:27] Like just do everything the same is their direction.

[00:44:30] Yeah, just with more money.

[00:44:31] And I mean there's jokes like...

[00:44:33] Janko and Schmidt are...

[00:44:36] At the beginning of the movie, they're on top of a roof just seeing how cool they can look with them.

[00:44:40] And they're on top of a roof with guns.

[00:44:43] And so they go...

[00:44:45] And what's great too is that in the trailer, they give you like it's a drug deal you know

[00:44:48] and Jonah Hill is acting like a Mexican and he's like,

[00:44:52] oh this is heavy!

[00:44:54] And he said you just need to improvise and Channing Tatum is horrible at acting.

[00:44:57] And he's like, no tell that story you were telling in detail to me in extreme detail.

[00:45:02] Your details are so rich.

[00:45:06] That's so good.

[00:45:07] And they go in there and they expect like drugs.

[00:45:10] And it's an octopus.

[00:45:12] And then at the end of him fighting with this like really slapsticky fighting with this octopus, he says,

[00:45:16] oh yeah exotic animal.

[00:45:19] It was trafficking just what we expected.

[00:45:22] Yeah, exactly.

[00:45:23] And it's little like bits like that throughout the whole movie where I mean they...

[00:45:27] They're talking about breaking up their partnership.

[00:45:30] And it's like a woman and a man breaking up and talking about this shit.

[00:45:35] They're gonna have an open partnership.

[00:45:36] They're gonna have an open partnership and they're gonna do the investigation separately.

[00:45:40] And just really well done.

[00:45:41] And two, for these movies to work, someone like I mean Channing Tatum's always been kind of funny

[00:45:45] but you know you don't expect him to be.

[00:45:47] And so he has to kind of embrace that dumbness in him.

[00:45:52] Yeah.

[00:45:53] And that he's able to play is really fun.

[00:45:54] In fact there's a part in it that...

[00:45:56] I don't know if you guys laughing at it but he was talking about how cool it would be to make a movie

[00:46:00] where he's like in charge of guarding the White House.

[00:46:02] Yes.

[00:46:03] It's a great idea.

[00:46:04] I caught it.

[00:46:05] Yeah and it's basically making fun of himself because White House down didn't do as well as they thought it would.

[00:46:11] It was just like a very clear send up of his actual career.

[00:46:15] Oh man.

[00:46:16] Yeah, no.

[00:46:17] It was just brilliant.

[00:46:19] Man.

[00:46:20] I didn't.

[00:46:21] I have a new guys role.

[00:46:24] He just handed me the mic.

[00:46:26] Yeah.

[00:46:30] I don't know if it's a comedy.

[00:46:32] So it's just constantly meta jokes and...

[00:46:37] No.

[00:46:39] I love the part where...

[00:46:42] Should I say it about Ice Cube and his daughter?

[00:46:46] Yeah.

[00:46:47] Yeah.

[00:46:48] Now you've already said it.

[00:46:49] Yeah so after Ice Cube finds out that Schmidt slept with his daughter,

[00:46:57] then Janko finds out and they have a meeting back at headquarters.

[00:47:02] The new headquarters which is like...

[00:47:05] Ice Cube describes Iron Man's layer.

[00:47:07] My favorite line about that is right when they introduce it.

[00:47:11] And I think it's Schmidt who says like, oh man it's like a giant ice cube.

[00:47:16] Yeah.

[00:47:18] We spent so much money on this new headquarters.

[00:47:22] I'm wearing $800 shoes.

[00:47:24] You can't even see them.

[00:47:25] And they're out of frame at the moment.

[00:47:27] He says that.

[00:47:28] Yeah.

[00:47:29] No when a Janko pieces it together like why Schmidt and Ice Cube were upset with each other.

[00:47:35] And he goes off on like a three minute rant.

[00:47:38] Oh my gosh.

[00:47:39] And then...

[00:47:40] Longer he says, because I'm telling this terribly.

[00:47:46] Very good.

[00:47:47] Earlier, Ice Cube and Schmidt were like high-fiving over Schmidt getting laid.

[00:47:52] They didn't know who it was.

[00:47:54] And then they just said, oh man the best part was you high-fiving.

[00:47:59] Yeah.

[00:48:00] No.

[00:48:01] And what's great about that scene is they let it breathe because...

[00:48:04] There's a part where he's sitting at the desk and there's a picture frame thing

[00:48:08] and Ice Cube's like we need to talk about this.

[00:48:11] And he turns it around and you think the ice cube is going to say something but it was actually...

[00:48:14] They're waiting for Channing Tatum to put it together.

[00:48:17] And then when he does it's like this huge moment of...

[00:48:20] It's like an epithany.

[00:48:22] It's funny because you expect Ice Cube to be saying something at that point.

[00:48:26] Yeah.

[00:48:27] But then you realize that the filmmakers are actually waiting for Channing Tatum's character

[00:48:31] to catch up to the joke.

[00:48:33] And I mean there's really funny things.

[00:48:36] And they make a big point about taking a bullet for each other.

[00:48:39] And then Jonah Hills tries to jump in front of a bullet and he jumps too soon

[00:48:43] and Channing Tatum still gets shot.

[00:48:45] It's a...

[00:48:46] It's a day.

[00:48:47] And then later like Jonah Hills were like really upset that he didn't take the bullet right,

[00:48:51] so he gives Janko a chance to just shoot him straight on.

[00:48:54] Yeah.

[00:48:55] And would have us see Freaks out or something?

[00:48:57] No, he ricochets and hits him.

[00:48:59] Right, but he's really...

[00:49:01] Oh, he's really like...

[00:49:02] He jumps out of the way and then the bullet ricochets back it so he gets...

[00:49:06] Janko gets shot three times.

[00:49:09] Yeah.

[00:49:10] It's just a really brilliant movie.

[00:49:12] And to the ending is so smart where it's...

[00:49:15] And then there's this little tag scene.

[00:49:19] It's like, oh next week you go into medical school.

[00:49:22] It says 23 Jump Street Medical School.

[00:49:25] There's Ninja School.

[00:49:27] Oh yeah all the ads for their future movies.

[00:49:29] They go through 40 like sequels of all the different variations of the jump street they could do.

[00:49:34] It's awesome.

[00:49:35] Yeah.

[00:49:36] And what's funny too is they also played on the fact that nobody would fall that these guys were in college.

[00:49:40] Oh yeah.

[00:49:41] The roommate...

[00:49:42] All of her scenes are amazing.

[00:49:44] Yeah.

[00:49:45] Or when he was in class and he's like, oh where's the wifi?

[00:49:49] Will you look like a fucking narc dude?

[00:49:50] I can see your badge.

[00:49:51] Will you forget to take it off this morning?

[00:49:53] Did you seriously just look for your badge?

[00:49:56] Oh.

[00:49:57] I don't think she calls him a 30 year old...

[00:50:00] Yeah, 30 year old 8 year old.

[00:50:03] He never spots on his hands.

[00:50:05] He never spots on his hands.

[00:50:07] During the investigation they also go back to prison to talk to the teacher that they busted last time.

[00:50:12] Yeah.

[00:50:13] And Dave Franco.

[00:50:15] It turns out to be his prison bitch.

[00:50:17] Oh.

[00:50:18] Is he really his prison bitch?

[00:50:20] Because it's like he isn't but he is.

[00:50:23] Where he doesn't want to be?

[00:50:24] Yeah, he doesn't want to be.

[00:50:25] It's a really weird...

[00:50:26] Yeah.

[00:50:27] No, it's great.

[00:50:28] ...moments in the movie.

[00:50:29] That movie was great.

[00:50:30] It's hard to describe comedies but you should definitely go see it.

[00:50:32] It's really clever.

[00:50:33] Yeah.

[00:50:34] And it actually me and Brad too were talking about the interview, the trailer before with Seth Rogan and James Franco

[00:50:39] where they're going to kill Kim Jong-un.

[00:50:42] Oh yeah.

[00:50:43] I can't believe they're getting it.

[00:50:44] It's like this is the end movie and it looks funny.

[00:50:48] Oh yeah, it looks really good.

[00:50:49] I'm surprised that...

[00:50:51] Of course they can get away with it.

[00:50:53] They can do whatever they want.

[00:50:55] But yeah, where you live in a country where you're going to make a movie about killing another country's actual leader.

[00:51:01] Like, just when you say that loud you realize like maybe this isn't the best idea but the movie looks amazing.

[00:51:06] Yeah.

[00:51:07] It looks really funny for sure.

[00:51:09] So yeah.

[00:51:11] Yeah.

[00:51:12] I love that fight between Schmidt and the actual villain.

[00:51:16] Yeah.

[00:51:17] Is it me?

[00:51:18] Is it me?

[00:51:19] Like, that whole performance is so perfect because they do.

[00:51:25] They start to do these little moves and you're like, are they going to make out?

[00:51:30] Are we in a fuck?

[00:51:31] You know there's a great moment too that I totally forgot at the beginning where Peter Stormair is like the bad guy in it.

[00:51:38] And Janko is crawling over the top of his roof of his car and he starts punching the windows like, is this guy the fucking terminator?

[00:51:49] Funny shit like that.

[00:51:51] Yeah.

[00:51:52] So yeah, I go see 22 Jump Street for sure.

[00:51:54] Next week there's really no good movies coming out so we're going to go see how to train your dragon too.

[00:51:59] Yes.

[00:52:00] My niece wants to see that with us so we'll see you today earlier.

[00:52:02] Have you seen the first one yet?

[00:52:03] No, I'll watch it this week.

[00:52:04] Yeah, you got to.

[00:52:05] It was hard to watch stuff this week.

[00:52:07] Yeah, I'm seeing.

[00:52:08] Yeah, it's like what nine hours I literally watched nine hours of Real Nerds pod show and we were doing our panel today as I come again or yesterday as they really just kind of annoying me.

[00:52:18] I'm tired of this but then there's some funny parts and then sometimes when I watch it I get embarrassed because of how I cuss in it and.

[00:52:27] Yeah.

[00:52:28] The panel is fun.

[00:52:31] We had our own panel there.

[00:52:33] Yeah, we did.

[00:52:34] Oh well.

[00:52:35] That is a big one.

[00:52:36] That was a brand concurrent with Bruce Campbell's panel.

[00:52:38] Yep.

[00:52:39] I mentioned that to Chris and he promised next year that we would not have the same panel.

[00:52:44] That's all right.

[00:52:46] It was fun.

[00:52:47] It was really fun.

[00:52:48] Yeah.

[00:52:49] So almost at Real Nerds until next week.

[00:52:50] Bye.

[00:52:51] Bye.

[00:52:52] I miss Kora.

[00:52:53] Yeah, we need Kora there this year.

[00:52:55] Yeah, fuck.

[00:53:01] Yeah.
