[00:00:51] I'm trying to help you know, just I wanted to be natural. I said have a conversation You know, ease people into our podcast every week we go see a new movie and I want them to know that we're normal people this week
[00:01:00] The movie we saw was a million ways to die in the West So how you doing Brad? I'm trying to start going to keep up like I got a million things to do to get ready for Denver Comic Con Arena like die a million times
[00:01:11] Oh, look at this witty guy Wow Yauza James how are you this week you were a candidate? Oh, yeah, I was in Canada. Was everybody nice up there or are the rumors true?
[00:01:20] They were pretty nice. The Vancouver is a very diverse city like going from Denver where everybody's white To a world where not everybody is white it was I saw Careful What no, I saw a diverse group of people outside your apartment Oh, okay
[00:01:39] Yeah, I'm just like that town like a lot of people there. It's big too I think it's really big. Yeah, it was really cool to be there Little more mellow than your last trip. Yes Good. You look a little more awake this time than you're asking
[00:01:55] Yeah, the last one took it out of me, you know being in New Orleans for a week is not Recommended that's hot and sticky in New Orleans. You know that's super gross. Yeah because like it's it's human in Vancouver
[00:02:06] But it's not like killer human, you know like it's pleasant and you know how like New Orleans has a funk to it Yes, oh, yes Like a standin. Yeah, yeah, oh, I'm in the streets. Yeah, they just put their garbage on the curves in the streets
[00:02:21] And it on bourbon street. It seems like you could you could take like a scraper like a paint scraper and just scrape off layers of filth Yeah, you could but you wouldn't want to it's come just Marty Grock come. It is
[00:02:34] All the facet those lots of confetti and stuff And You what hey, fun finally the blueberry release of time. I'm sorry We're just noticing that they were releasing the ringer on bluer this week
[00:02:49] Spoiler spoilers for what we do we also talk about comic books you should be reading movies. We watch this week box office numbers Real news hey, do you guys No, Brad you don't care very much, but because you haven't played the last of us
[00:03:05] Have you did you see the video of the Girl asking the lady who plays Ellie about things and made the girl who played Ellie cry. Oh Oh my goodness that sounds good. I mean awesome in the fact that is really heart
[00:03:19] You know touching and stuff is great. She was talking about you know how Ellie and what's the other girls Riley? Sure that
[00:03:27] Thing and then yeah, she said if I would have known that earlier. I'm an easier for me to come out because that's how much it meant to me And so it's really cool and it made the actress cry as it's a really sweet little video
[00:03:36] She's checking out. That's really good. It's trending right now But yeah, anyways, you know we also play video games you guys played Mario Kart 8 yet You came out yesterday Yeah, and I played it as soon as I got home at six and I played it like midnight
[00:03:52] But I would have had a break of the break for a movie and take my wife to dinner between yeah If I was making a DVD for us, I probably would have time to do it like you. Yep. You should be cool like me
[00:04:03] I would have had to go out and buy a Wii U for that. Yeah, it's worth it The tracks are a lot already. It's awesome. Yeah, like the tracks are seriously vertical
[00:04:11] So it's like you're on a roller coaster and they're and the my favorite course so far that I've raised on it's called shy guy falls And you go up like waterfalls and underwater dude. It's badass
[00:04:21] Are there at least new maps this time because that's the last one? It's it. Yeah Well, here's the thing. It's really cool is they have 16 original courses Then they have 16 old school courses, but the old school courses they update to have like 3D vertical stuff and
[00:04:36] Yeah, that's pretty awesome and it's it's beautiful in the game is gorgeous cool So pick up Mario Kart 8 But if we had a video game segment that would be your recommendation if we were a video game podcast
[00:04:49] Hey, we can talk about whatever we want guys. This is our podcast in under an hour though because we got to go I don't care
[00:04:55] You know here about your job right now what they're gonna fire me for coming in not being there on a day. I have off fuck them Anyways Let's start the show
[00:05:05] I would start it with fan mail, but nobody fucking Microsoft you guys see that someone unlike us this week Facebook you did yeah, oh wow Yeah, just by the number or You know who it was
[00:05:16] There's also a guy if you guys seen the charts and everything on it now no, no. Oh, it's pretty badass Oh Brad you can do it you have an iPhone on your iPhone
[00:05:23] You can select like your insights and I'll tell you well we went from four one to four hundred I don't know who dislike us, but oh That's who puts it that's cold a lot of them down what jerks is probably about
[00:05:36] Like I don't like you boys talk about Anyways, what if it's a profile like that person died and like their family to the other Would you say that Brad? You were a piece of shit more of all just thinking about's had the box
[00:05:49] Someone's like I'm so sad my daughter died. I'm gonna unlike real nerds podcast because of it I'm so racked with grief. I'm gonna unlike all her things or just delete their profile So they can't guess
[00:06:01] If you delete a profile make you on mic things maybe probably yeah, I don't know how can you like things if you don't exist But they're still alive and they did it just cuz they don't like the show anymore fuck them
[00:06:10] Yeah, fuck you well they want to go anyway, so fuck you Yeah, yeah, cool Just announce some doctor who people for Denver Comic-Con 2. Yeah That's you're really pretty. Maybe I should watch Doctor who no way to minute doctor who is horrible Start the show
[00:06:28] And this is a stuff cuz I already spoiled it that's coming out on blue right next week Loans of driver is the big one so this is your chance to go watch that movie The good and see me
[00:06:45] I think it would I think it would work on on a DVD as well the only hit Taylor kitchens had where he bombed Oh That didn't say that in the movie He died horribly
[00:06:58] Robocop the remake of Robocop, so when you're gonna purchase bread and you're a big Robocop fan. I don't know I did like it. Yeah, they're releasing like an arreaded version of it You know shoot that yeah, I'm almost I might hold out just cuz I it's such a
[00:07:11] Standard release that you know, it seems like with those movies There were they would have like it especially extended edition Yeah, but also was it big enough for they're gonna release another version of it. I mean it would make like 60
[00:07:23] They're not making a sequel. I don't think so The box looks nice, but yeah, it doesn't say anything about extended versions
[00:07:29] Son of God that that re-release of the TV show. Oh, we could just stream the bottle on jam as such the primal and you actually have more of the film
[00:07:38] But yeah, attack on Titan part one which is a believe it's an it's an anime that was very popular and was doing this sort of indie circuit for a while
[00:07:47] The entire season of breaking red is getting a re-release and I cool a little box at this week. Yeah, the final We're no is it the final season of true blood true blood? It's a six season as you canceled yet
[00:07:57] I think I was shooting the final season. I don't watch it. I don't know six season of true blood this week I told you the only part of that I've ever seen and I've seen like three clips from it
[00:08:05] Yeah, and it's always when I was going to Laura's a part me when she was in college and as they were drinking some like Juice thing and it make them like fuck really fast. Yeah, and it's always like some people behind like this house
[00:08:18] And it's always the same part I've seen it that scene three times that I've never sat down and watched an episode of true blood. Yeah, I like a first couple seasons That show. I think they're really strong
[00:08:27] But I sort of dropped off after there became like there were fairies And shit and it got weird Anyway, that's a nice way to talk about San Francisco. No, oh That's not what I was baseball joke there guys baseball James such
[00:08:44] Yeah, and in the very last thing is the third season of the killing which I Puck how does that show still around? Because I'm more season two. I know I know it just keeps on trucking
[00:08:53] Kill it it currently has only one review on Amazon and it's one star But that's this week nice Some stuff's happening in the world of cinema. We call this segment real news It's real news
[00:09:14] I was in Canada, so I missed some things. I'm sure but a couple of interesting things that happened this week for sure The biggest one I think it the biggest thing is the Thanos guy cast and it's Josh Berlin who has the chin for that role
[00:09:30] He actually is he I guess he just be CGI right? I mean, I guess you'd be like a whole kind of thing where he'd be on Set but he'd have all those blue dots all over him and I don't know I think
[00:09:41] Like from what we saw at the end of the one I think you could do it and make up and just yeah, I mean good But thank you sir and I think Nate feet tall right exactly so you'd have to like
[00:09:51] He'd have to be CG didn't but like his face could actually be Josh Berlin's face here's some Marvel trivia for you guys too Loki is actually seven feet tall according to the Marvel official handbook really
[00:10:02] I don't think Tom Hiddleston's that tall interesting is Thor also eight feet tall? No, Thor I forget I'd have to look it up man. Loki is a frost giant that is correct sir There's also
[00:10:17] There's some rumors about weird remakes going on that I just want to talk about because I think they are hilarious And tell something I I've read this when I got back from Vancouver and was pretty sure that we'd like flunk through the Twilight Zone
[00:10:30] Because not only are they talking about remaking cliffhanger So it's in talking about his sequels for independence day Well in America's talk also talking about remaking stargate a movie he made We're also coming back
[00:10:47] Is he gonna come through the stargate for based on how long it's taken him to make independence 3 He's been talking about since independence day I have a feeling we're probably never actually going to see a remake of stargate. I think we're not gonna see it too
[00:11:03] Because no one gives a shit dude. I They made like three TV series Yeah, no, they're saying that but I now but who cares now you know what I mean? Yeah, I mean I think stargates really cool
[00:11:15] I really like the original. I would love for somebody to make another stargate film But not like a remake of stargate like Because I never really liked the way they went you know, so that's sort of very episodic version that they have of
[00:11:29] In the TV show. I never cared much for that but um I don't know I like the idea. I think it's cool. I just don't like how how does a director remake it has an at ever happened before Where a director has remade their own movie I mean
[00:11:46] Evil dead It's not even really it's not even really see that but like things like that or the old are the closest you ever get a big
[00:11:53] Misconception of Evil dead to is people think it's a remake right it's actually they couldn't get the footage from the first one So they retold the first one and like the first 20 minutes Yeah, and then took it up from there right
[00:12:04] I'm just saying like that yeah, I mean I guess yeah It'd be interesting it'd be cool to have somebody remake their own movie and see if it were any different than the first one Um But anyway, I think that's new Listen to some damn it's um hmm
[00:12:20] Okay, then that's news Yay This is a stuff we watch this week So yeah, this is just stuff we've been watching Brad would you watch this week? a couple things cool Zoolander That's what I said
[00:12:38] It was on Netflix. I watched it and I remember I saw the theater and that was kind of the anime Like oh, that's funny and it's pretty much true the same time second time around It seems like a big Ben stiller inside joke for the most part
[00:12:51] Yes funny point parts but overall I wasn't like oh my no man I missed that I remember it has some really bizarre humor you know, it's really Pigeon hold in a certain thing, you know and you write I guess inside Ben still or joke
[00:13:07] Yeah, it's very much his humor like if you I'm sure then like he had a much movie But now that he's had a bunch of movies since then and like in his style like you see
[00:13:17] Like a similar pattern of things and is alright and then I also watched the terminal Because I finally came to me on blur right yeah, yeah, and that's a movie like I own already
[00:13:28] On DVD and watch many times and on blu-ray like the colors are so saturated in that movie Like there's these whole scenes of like we're everything's yellow It's I don't remember that from a good way in a bad way To me it seems like someone didn't white balance
[00:13:49] On my TV when I watched it which was like oh no, it's it's I get the I get the style It's supposed to be a warmer Senior everything because there I was watching I think one of the feature. That's where they're like I was just saying
[00:14:01] The energy commensi like they want to start the movie like stark and white like and then as he settles into living into the terminal like things get you know brighter and better But just compared to like my memory of the DVD in the film like in the theater
[00:14:14] I don't remember being that That yellow and some scenes, but yeah, it's such a great like there's I didn't write any technique notes or anything, but I just overall some of the lines and like their double meanings About I
[00:14:32] Really like how intimate the movie is. Yeah, you know for a movie that kind of feels like it's big because it's in an airport It's very small you know I don't know if that makes any sense and Tom Hanks is performance like all the
[00:14:46] I don't know nuances and like little Gags of things yet he encounters Along the way is Charming and yeah and again like the only downside is like Katherine's in It's not her acting or herself, but just her character is so Such a pain the ass to watch yeah
[00:15:06] But That's real life Sounds vague if you haven't seen the movie, but anyway, just a great movie great music great performances One of my all-time favorite movies. Yeah, it's so good Sam And yeah, I've Not just a Mr. Show
[00:15:28] Sorry, I'm just a Mr. Show again. I love popping those in every once in a while just but this is really on DVD So I'm just like come on HBO give me some blue rays of this
[00:15:36] But they might won't yeah, this is a big enough for them to re release it on blue Yeah, and like the first season you know is almost like Public access TV like quality sound how much better they could make it Hmm
[00:15:50] But yeah, it could be a little sharper I guess, but yeah, it's that's one show. Yep. Yeah, very creative And that's it for me James cool I didn't watch much because I was in Vancouver
[00:16:02] But I did get there they do and it's weird though so like one night When I was I was going to bed and I was flipping around and there were some Garfield in friends on
[00:16:12] There's like a channel called teletunes. It was just show an old car suit which the first night was awesome because they were showing in Inspector Gadget which I adore and then the next night they're showing Garfield and friends
[00:16:24] I was like I watched the end of some of his right now like this voices sound weird in this Like they sort of sounded like the actors, but like Some was just off about it and then what I realized is all the music's different
[00:16:38] So different that the intro song is not the actual like Garfield song it was like this real You know sort of lounge musicy song about friends and very sort of not it not lounge music but like
[00:16:53] Random new-mines yellow or music no like a Randy new-mines like you know Kitchewn the yee Some pizza No like just as weird friends about like talking about like what friends are for and all that I was like this is not made
[00:17:07] I got a friend in me right that sort of was thinking yeah It was weird but what did happen last week is that the the second season of Hannibal ended
[00:17:18] And I won't I don't want to talk too much about it because I know that Ryan is waiting until I buy blue rays So that he can finally watch the season Which is probably really good because every time a season of the show ends
[00:17:29] I tend to look back at it be somewhat puzzled and then when the blue ray comes in I watch it straight through and go like oh Man this thing is fucking brilliant And I still feel that way this was one where they
[00:17:42] Pulled out some crazy shit at the end of this season things that I was not expecting Things that know what it I because I've talked to other people about this show and nobody was expecting this It's pretty crazy. It's really really good They didn't get canceled though
[00:17:58] Because assuming that this ending was like already filmed where they were already working on it and that there wasn't an alternative ending for them If they ended the show this way I would have been absolutely furious because there's like
[00:18:12] There are people I don't know if they're dead or alive they're important people I don't know what's going on. I don't know where people are like it It is a hell of a cliffhanger
[00:18:23] But I really love this season. They I think I talked last week about the fact that they told us the story of Mason Verger from from Hannibal
[00:18:33] Which was different but also just a really cool chilling story and there's something up some badass like other villains other than Hannibal in that in that show So I'm really excited about where they could take it especially now because I feel like
[00:18:47] If if things shake out the way I think they're going to shake out They're going to sort of reset the status quo in some ways that will allow them to free the show up to not be
[00:18:58] tied down to just being for people who really like Hannibal actor and And those and like the relationships that these characters have with Hannibal actor you could just introduce like other crazy fucking people And have those people sort of be the arch for the season was it a
[00:19:18] The same length as the first season tense episodes yeah 10 or 11 or 12 something like that I don't know if it's on my head, but yeah, it's a short season. I love the the title cards for it Yeah, they're really simple but they're really cool. Yeah
[00:19:31] Very chilling and cool in the music. Yeah, yeah, I mean I don't want to give too much away I just think that they they set themselves up so that that show can change and be something different
[00:19:42] So that if you haven't watched it before you could see it radically. I think Maybe jump in at that point I'm not saying for sure who knows what the first episode of the next season actually looks like
[00:19:53] I think I did just think it's cool that they're going to hopefully Make Hannibal into a slightly different character than what he has been for these first two seasons
[00:20:03] So that's cool. That's really I think you could probably jump in on any episode in that series from the first season Except for like the last three where they really kind of like link together Yes, but the other ones are really
[00:20:13] Stand alone stories so yeah, I mean this season is less likely because part of why that was true in the first season is that each episode You'd have some kind of a mystery and then there would just be little things
[00:20:24] That would cue you into the fact that will was going crazy And in this season There's There are pretty big Mystery pieces that they are always dealing with so I think the second season is a little bit harder to do that
[00:20:40] But the story they ended up telling is is pretty cool Not what I was expecting a lot of cool twists and turns especially near the end cool, so definitely worth checking out Can't wait till you bite and I can borrow it. Yeah
[00:20:53] Oh man cool, so that's awesome. Wow Night week for the nerds. Yeah, I saw a few things I Stay tuned over on our spotcast.com. I'm actually going to post a written review of the complete chucky
[00:21:06] Oh cool, you know, I really wanted the blue racet and I held out for a really long time because it was $70 And my guy is going to has to go down right and so
[00:21:16] On Friday on Amazon it was on self or 27 bucks. I'm like fucking at six movies 27 bucks. Yeah, might as well do it and They're fun. I'd say The first one in the last one are the strongest ones Two and three are pretty good two
[00:21:32] Three not so much but I just laugh because I Post it every time Chuck he flipped somebody off. I just laugh. I don't know why maybe it's because he has like those little midget hands and
[00:21:42] And you know they the bride of Chuckies actually not too bad a seat of Chuckies definitely the worst one They're just fun whatever it's about a killer doll Right who Says funny show should be really easy to defeat but somehow isn't
[00:21:55] Well, he always speaks well that's by the first one so effect if they kind of made it more like a thriller Yeah, where um Chuckie would be the sneaking around all the time
[00:22:02] Yeah, and they went back to that in the in the last one where it's not so much where he's you know pulls out a knife and he goes I don't know I'm like chasing you. You fucking bitch
[00:22:14] He doesn't really do that in the first and the last one He does a little bit but he's more of like stalking and yeah And one of my favorite scenes and the curse of Chuckie which just came out is he puts rap poison
[00:22:25] Someone's chilly that's everybody's eating around a table and so they're all eating and you don't know who got poisoned and it's kind of a cool little scene So yeah, it was fun I also got the complete friends on blue ray. Oh, yeah
[00:22:39] Which I've really wanted for a long time again. It's a super expensive set Yeah, and so I kept on waiting until I dropped on price and I finally went down to like I think I for 120
[00:22:49] Or one 19 something like that some weird price on Amazon and it comes in this beautiful hardcover book And it comes in like a case too. So like you have to open up the case and you pull the book out
[00:23:00] And what was really cool is I didn't know this I read the book that came with it and The creators of the show went back to the 35 millimeter negatives and they made the show
[00:23:09] It's now white screen and so you know, it takes up my whole TV and I'm sure it's probably doesn't look cropped at all And the show looks wonderful. I mean, I'm just watching the first season right now and it's 20 years old I cannot believe that show's 20 years old
[00:23:24] And it looks great all the colors are so vibrant and one of the things that Brad was talking about how he got dig van Dyke on blue ray
[00:23:30] You can see so many textures now. Yeah, like the the sofa is in the coffee shop had like rips and um and just so much more clear And I love blue ray and I love high definition going back and read a scouring shows That
[00:23:44] Looks good at the time but now that you see him blue ray. I could never go back. I think I'm watching standard death because yeah Looks so freaking amazing I watched a couple other things. I watched Star Trek 2 again the Rathicon
[00:23:57] Which originally was just Star Trek the Rathicon. I read that the other day And it's weird because it's now actually like crept in I think my top 50 movies Really, and I never thought I'd really like Star Trek
[00:24:09] But there's something about this movie that is just so fun and I think Con is such a great villain I mean a lot of his lines. He's you know spouting Shakespeare or whatever, but
[00:24:21] There's something so scary about him and you know when you when you see him and stills or something he looks Dorky yeah, but there's something that's really terrifying about who he is right and his you know when they first run into
[00:24:35] And by the way my least favorite character in the Star Trek series is check off. I can't stand Yeah, there's something about him. I'm like dude you suck. Yeah. I really wish you as a one
[00:24:45] That's a Walter Gany at the con this year. I will yeah, I will I was kind of wish he was the guy who was like who shot himself instead of So Paul when filled But you know there's there's just moments in that movie that I love when
[00:25:00] Bones brings Kirk his birthday gift and You know there's this I don't know you'd have to really see it to appreciate the movie and how cool it is and I think it all to really well
[00:25:12] Oh, yeah, I mean the performances are awesome and on blue ray the battles and the ships look so great Yeah, I think there's only a couple times we see the black lines around the ships and stuff
[00:25:23] But yeah, if you haven't seen it, you know because it has a stigma about at the Star Trek series About that it's too nerdy even for nerds only like super big nerds will watch it But you're really missing out on some great great films
[00:25:35] I don't know I haven't seen the search of Spocket. We'll see I try to watch more but I got distracted this week with meetings I'm excited for you to see the search of Spocket that one was uh
[00:25:44] I was interested. I want to try to watch the rest of them this week You know after today I don't have anything to do this weekend on my wife works. Yeah, so I'm gonna try to watch four of them cool
[00:25:52] And so I'll open this do you think guys? I could get the next generation movies and go right into them Yeah, yeah, I don't even have I mean if you watch generations Yeah, I mean I I've watched through them few episodes go through them in order
[00:26:03] So don't do like you did with with the original and where you sort of like start with the back One's like I would say go through them in order because they they will walk you through those characters a little bit better
[00:26:12] In generations is almost like a teeth like an episode of the show. Yeah, we have a bigger budget So yeah, cool Exactly so yeah, I'm excited for that because I ordered that off Amazon I was just asking you guys already ordered it
[00:26:23] But I was just asking if I'd be alright I think that they I think you have all the pieces you would need like you know about clingsons and you know about like
[00:26:32] The or if you yeah, yeah, you do like you've got all the pieces I think so that you'll understand that universe well enough that the characters will come Right cool
[00:26:41] Data's not hard to understand he's a robot. Yep, right like yeah, and I think it will really appreciate the work Yes, when you get to yeah when you get to do they're right up your alley
[00:26:52] Spina starts right though a bit of news. I heard Jonathan Franks might be directing his start-track TV series I didn't you that I know he's transitions Exit into a director he directed Dresided first contact
[00:27:09] C does what he's doing well in selection to it people like as much, but I don't really care Yeah, fuck them
[00:27:17] Oh, no, I didn't I didn't really about that that would be cool if he yeah if he got involved I he's one of the people in our whole circle that I trust the most Um
[00:27:26] So I think that would be really cool teams is looking up right now. Yeah, there's an article on trek today Oh I also watched this last week our friend Jonathan tears in the 30th anniversary
[00:27:45] Sleepway camp came out on collector's edition and so I watched the making of it and Watching it you know, you just because I've hang out with Jonathan quite a bit. Oh, you know, that's totally Jonathan and
[00:27:56] He's lots of fun in the making of it and then I went and listened to his commentary with Melissa Rose who who plays Angela in Sleepway camp and I start soft normal, you know, he says oh yeah, you know
[00:28:09] This is how I got an audition and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah And then he goes into like Jonathan tears thin or he just starts saying weird things and Melissa Rose is known him so long. She's like dude. You are so fucking weird
[00:28:20] But it's cool too because that's a really cool commentary too because I also talk about their onset romance and how they Capt it going and how they would get on each others nerves and I thought each other were cute and so it's kind of a cute little
[00:28:31] Commentary track as well and the movie looks Amazing. I mean the first time I saw in a in years was when we saw the 30th anniversary screening at Alamo And this version of it puts it to shame. It's beautiful
[00:28:46] And some of the effects still hold up pretty well But it's really funny is you know JT was the killer in it and they're supposed to be this like silhouette of him standing in the doorway with
[00:28:59] Coming in and supposed to be obscured but Lou Ray like made the resolution so much you can clearly see it's Jonathan wearing a wig And and even when they're commenting they're laughing really hard about it because you can
[00:29:12] Clearly see that at him that's wearing a really bad bullet wig So it's a really fun commentary So if you haven't make sure you support our buddy Because it also has his musical bit music video on it. It's very cool
[00:29:25] It doesn't have Jonathan Tertis and she would barbecue unfortunately But fucking weak but you get you can see that at real heroes at Denver Comic Con We will be showing we should probably show that episode home
[00:29:36] Yeah, if there's one of those they'll get to play one that should be it for sure Well hopefully if we can play two it's probably that that one in the Denver Comic Con one I think would probably
[00:29:45] Yeah, hopefully we can play them all but just so you know you can also go to Denver Comic Con and pick up your own copy of the blue ray DVD combo of real nerds pod show season one and

[00:30:35] James plays Bane show go to view to Breaker and I am of course a clown prince of crime So we're really excited the shirt looks amazing of podcasting. Yeah, love it. So yeah, make sure you stop by our booth say hi
[00:30:49] We haven't figured out how we're gonna display the stuff going on behind. It'll be a TV a project or we don't know yet But you'll be able to see it for yourself and you can record on our show too. So any celebrity is listening right now like who?
[00:31:01] Oh, the podcast to record on come to real nerds and Tim Crease and I'm gonna be wondering if Talk to you show don't let me get a fucking erection Oh my goodness. In fact as funny as I was driving here
[00:31:11] Danger zone came on okay, and then I got the erection So yeah, so make sure you stop by that's really uncomfortable The last thing I watched this week is my wife is a huge fan of Tim Burton's also in Wonderland and So Maleficent came out and
[00:31:31] And did some way tied to Tim Burton's The director of it is the was the production designer or something on that yeah, and for the as And here's the thing that the movie when Angelina Jolie is Maleficent's on there is really good cool It's really well done
[00:31:53] The stories cool Because it's not The story is as she's a fairy and she over she rules over the moors which is outside the kingdom and sleeping beauty And so she be friends she has no way
[00:32:11] Who yeah, but this is like before no Maleficent is sleeping beauty. Yeah, but this is yeah So the a little peasant boy The same Stefan befriends her and she right Boo, yeah, it's got it. Boo and
[00:32:27] And so she doesn't they don't trust humans but then she starts trusting him and she kind of falls in love with him over the years And then Stefan goes away and he comes back after they've all grown up and
[00:32:40] The king for the kingdom is trying to overrule the moors the fairy creatures and all that stuff Em Maleficent turns him away and makes him look like a fool so his dying wish is if someone kills Maleficent
[00:32:54] They will inherit his kingdom because he doesn't have an air and so What's the guy's name from district nine chart start up to a shout out hopefully yeah, he plays the older Stefan and he uses Maleficents trust in him to
[00:33:09] He doesn't kill everybody takes off her wings and so she can't fly so she's So her trust in humans as letter to be like scorned and and that's when the movie gets really really interesting because
[00:33:21] Angel Angel Lee I'm not joking when I say she owns this role and and it's really there's some parts that are really well done The director though need some work on some things because it's his first movie and I don't know why if I was Disney
[00:33:35] I would not give a $200 million movie to a first time director. Yeah, but then you can also get stuff like the Godzilla movie But it's just and it falters at some points everything with a three little fairies is horrible
[00:33:48] And I think the rating it's PG really holds it back Because they try to interject the fairy god mothers are trying to be You know, oh we're so funny and it just comes across really lame Yeah, and so even parts with where Maleficent is trying to be evil
[00:34:05] It's like oh there's like chains on it because we're trying to make a PG movie Yeah, so it's not quite as scary as it could be and it's not quite as violent as it should be and then there's some rules that I don't understand
[00:34:17] She's a super powerful fairy which you can turn a raven into a person or raven into a wolf yeah, but she can't She a weakness of the fairy is she can't touch iron or something
[00:34:28] So she's surrounded by iron at one point with stuff on who comes in like to kill her So I don't know if her powers are weakened by iron but it doesn't make any sense because if I was her I would just
[00:34:40] She like at one point she flicks her wrists and blows people away. Yeah, so I don't know why she just wouldn't do it anyways Yeah, so there's a little inconsistency issues and Yeah, and the fairy stuff is horrible, but
[00:34:54] I mean, I was actually surprised how much is kind of fun to watch cool And the makeup's done by Rick Baker and it's fucking fantastic and it's
[00:35:03] Yeah, and actually Julie is really good and it doesn't look like she needs to eat and that she actually looks like you know Healthy when I sell salt and like I never believe this girl could be anybody up
[00:35:12] She's just like as skinny as my fucking finger. Yeah, so yeah if you're looking for a different movie You know see it a Lot of people have already seen it. So Jonathan Franks is my handy TV show But no you were you were totally like
[00:35:28] You got my hopes real high. Oh, it's not your dashed not only is it not trek it is a TV show based on Noah Wiley's the librarian Just around the podcast. Oh, man now I'm disappointed. Yeah, I'm sure it'll be very well directed
[00:35:48] Yeah, yeah, I'm sure all the front fans of librarian Curse of the Smithsonian or whatever that thing was called When we want to find out was a number one movie and all the land we go to box office mojo and tell you the box office stats
[00:36:09] Heaven is for real came back guys in its 12th week of release Number one of the box office No, no, no, they read that wrong. Yes Yes, yes, it was a fact that I wouldn't want that future is number 10
[00:36:23] Exmanent days of future past was the number one movie That's a money Right, I mean it's a it's a disappointment because it only made what 96 million you didn't get the hundred I was too 110 that's over four days though. Oh, yeah, but yeah, so what a disappointment
[00:36:41] Yeah, they should sound making those I guess. Oh, nobody likes them the good thing is that the movie we saw divergent is still hanging in there number 14 nice Yeah I know it's just I mean these days when a movie makes 110 million dollars and four days is just
[00:36:55] Slap in the face movie covers well, but it is the most expensive movie that fox has ever made and they've already made a money back I'm sure yeah, I mean how much has it made over made half full receipts before it was released here
[00:37:07] Yeah, they don't care. It'll be fine. They'll and they will keep making more of them. What's it how much is what's it total at Worldwide? 360. Yeah, sorry made some money back. Yep. In the marketing budget and yeah Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah, yeah, that's true
[00:37:22] I mean I really hope this five-man franchise can survive with it Oh, it's only gonna make $200 to like $20 million this time or $210 or whatever it's gonna end. Yeah, I really hope it'll survive You know the 800 million worldwide well because there's a thing
[00:37:37] Great if they don't make another one what are they gonna make? It's all they do now is pump out their you know There are color book. Wait, it's like speaking of comic books James you have a comic book this week. No, that's your book fuck
[00:37:52] This is a comic book you should be reading We shop nerds it's the comic corner Don't don't worry guys. I got it
[00:38:02] You look at me like oh, is he gonna be able to pull in out you know what a comic story? Fuck I can pull a comic anywhere I'm actually gonna Talk about one that's a little different and as actually surprised how much I really liked it
[00:38:14] Marvel every summer has an event comic and lately they've been me You know not really that exciting But the event comic for me Is original sin and it's about the watcher and the watchers is all powerful being who watches over Earth
[00:38:32] And in it he's assassinated by somebody and they can't figure out who and the Avengers go to the moon to see who killed the watcher And it's like a
[00:38:40] Investigate it's like a mystery and they're all picking up like brain matter and trying to figure out what shot him and who could kill him And it has a lot of Villains and
[00:38:50] Heroes in it's saying well who someone could kill the watcher because the watcher in real life is like 30 something feet tall and you can blow out his eyeballs and stuff And it's yeah, it's really well done and it's a really cool kind of mystery murder mystery
[00:39:04] It's interesting and I didn't think I'd like I actually picked it up because I don't know why I did to tell you the truth. I was like I'm gonna get them Marvel original sin because it's just a different tail I mean, I don't think I've ever
[00:39:16] Actually read a watcher tail. I've seen him in issues But I don't really know anything about him. I know he literally watches the Earth yeah and he's really powerful But I don't know what he does I feel like and aren't there isn't there more than one
[00:39:30] I thought there was more than there is he's like the one that kills the big bald headed one He's like the most known one like a rollover or something Yeah, it's like you. You are you or something. Yeah, I forget
[00:39:43] But it's a really interesting tail and it's written by Jason Aaron who I really liked it a spider man Wolverine crossover Yeah, Jason Aaron's great where Spider-Man and Wolverine were in alternate realities constantly and it turned out it was mojo This really obscure
[00:39:57] Exman villain who is putting him on reality TV and when they found out the punch demnie gun. It's pretty funny Punched him yeah, well because they had this huge like build up like what's wrong? Why are they going back in time and they keep on dying and
[00:40:09] These little things and then you find out just mojo fucking with them and then And also to the new ultimate spider-man had a really interesting reveal and it really Yeah, Peter Parker is at the end of it Yeah, I saw that online and Norman Osborn's back
[00:40:26] But that's all inside of ultimate yeah, and Norman Osborn's back got damn it But he did such a good job killing ultimate spider-man and the whole sort of idea there was like
[00:40:37] No this time hits for real like this is the way where we can kill spider-man and make it real And now he's back to make it cool. You know, I knew the green god was gonna come back as I remember when I was reading the death of spider-man
[00:40:48] Yeah, the panel keeps on going closer and closer to the god ones facing as a smile. Yeah, so you knew he was gonna come back But I don't I don't know it doesn't look maybe it's a clone. Yeah, it doesn't look like a real
[00:40:59] I doubt to be the real Peter Parker. Yeah, or maybe it's Peter Parker from 616 or maybe it's girls Girl-claw in a Peter Parker got a sex change. No, she's still in that one spider one Well, I'm just saying maybe they have a reveal. Yeah, maybe
[00:41:14] What does that mean sorry? She's in that issue oh shit Well, the next one Oh yeah Those are two comics original sins really interesting. Yeah, that's the second one I came out this week I haven't picked it up yet, but what was the last?
[00:41:30] Like a vent comic that you actually really like before this That's all I'll be back to Civil War is it? Maybe yeah, that was the most interesting one. I really liked infinite crisis Yeah, I thought it was an interesting take on the villain or the heroes
[00:41:45] But that's not marble. Yeah, well, I was up before I think I was before Civil War too I think so I don't remember. Yeah, I was interesting They may yeah, they were close. Yeah, I'm trying to think
[00:42:00] I remember them both happening. I just remember because they were both early in the days of me reading comics I did try to read planet Hulk and I lost interest Man, I have really thinking
[00:42:13] Not the oh I really like secret invasion actually. Oh, yeah, yeah, that was natural Yeah, I think secret invasion was pretty cool Yeah, there's another mystery one. I think it's interesting when they take ideas of secret invasion or really awesome
[00:42:25] Yeah, I think that they make it in mystery Don't really know who killed them is kind of interesting. I will see if it pays off I mean, it's eight issues long and they're doing two a month so it'll be really quick cool So I'll see the archery grid
[00:42:37] Who is it? Mike Dia de Dito Dia de Dito Dia de Dito Dia de Dito Dia de Dito Dia de Dito Yeah, he did amazing spider-man for a while. He's really good Awesome cool This week yeah, that's what I fast Yeah, no we are going through this
[00:42:55] Not that exciting this week this week We went and saw a million ways to die in the west Brad should people go see a million ways to die in the west? It's a bit long, but I think it's still funny so James Huh Yeah, I know I'm only
[00:43:14] But hesitant because it was a bread that no, yeah, I think this movie is really funny and I don't even like frame like it But I thought it was great Yeah, um, do you have to rush out and see it? Probably not Yeah, probably rent it
[00:43:26] It's still it's different. I mean you don't see very many western comedies so yeah, ladies and saddles exactly So yeah, I mean I guess if you want to see something funny and kind of let light in the mood and you're in the mood of something different than superheroes
[00:43:38] Yeah, yeah, I think there were some really really smart jokes in that movie But I do too really took me to a surprise so I think it's worth it Cool, so here's a trailer for a million ways to end the west
[00:43:52] Now you'll put that under your pillow on the 2th Vario Livia Penny There ain't no 2nd Vario, idiot! Now clean up that horse ship Fuck everybody, just a while while west The American Frontier in 1882 is a terrible place in time Oh hey look at the eyes
[00:44:10] Why is it so big? So doesn't melt. It's actually really interesting how they do it That went south so fast There are million ways to die in the west Outlaws, hungry animals, diseases You know cholera? The black ship Owens! That came out of my penis
[00:44:34] I would like to welcome a new member to walk in the evening Welcome to our awesome town. What's with this fair every year people died Really? Everybody holds still People died the fair Somebody in this turn is going to die My god somebody's gonna get fucked
[00:44:58] Please don't shoot us on sex night You beat the sky and have gone fight you're gonna be a real hero I've never actually fired a gun before This is my first vagina I feel like I should have a music cake or something It's that right there
[00:45:28] Oh, yeah, it's this it's like from here to here But that's just the outside. There's these bowls Okay, I'm gonna close the Bible now Oh Really do you have a death waste? Don't you? Wait wait wait wait this You know shadows
[00:45:56] We barely know each other, but hey when it's right it's right I'll give you a little tap on the hat when I'm good to go okay What the Basically Seth MacFarlane from family guy plays a guy named Albert who's a sheep farmer in
[00:46:16] Is it Arizona? Yeah Arizona territory in 1882 85 85 whenever I know it's got to be 85 yeah And it's got to be 1885. Yeah. Yeah. Why? Back to the future. Oh, yeah We'll be at the future. But I think it says 1882 Yeah, I think you're right whatever
[00:46:33] I thought it said 18 go back more than once right guys Just saying he's fucking with the timeline man. Yeah, you know the only thing bummer is they I saw that in a trailer So really it ruined that cameo. Well, there's a TV spot Oh, that's So
[00:46:49] Why are you coming? Yeah, that's really good. I mean even says a line is this oh, it's a weather You know, yeah, yeah, it's a weather experience and then I love the transition
[00:46:57] It actually played the back of the future thing in the transition. Yeah, it was really sweet Yeah, I didn't know it was coming south out of the drain But anyways, you play as a sheep farmer named Albert who's really timid
[00:47:09] He gets mixed up with the wrong kind of people He's involved in a couple doodles and Liam Neeson plays clinch who is a the most feared killer in the out in the west or the territory
[00:47:21] And as you go through town Charlie Steron is supposed to stay there who's his wife and she teaches Seth McFarron how to shoot again It's I mean you're right. I do think it's probably kind of long the thing I kind of wish it did more of is
[00:47:36] Sort of poke fun at westerns in general right like there wasn't there weren't a lot of There weren't a lot of jokes that you would only get if you'd seen a lot of westerns in your life Yeah, there was some
[00:47:46] Interesting too because it is like him and Charlie Steron were in on this joke that they're from like our time exactly And they said hey, this is an 1800s a sucks and things like that
[00:47:57] Right, but which that aspect of it is really cool and that's kind of why I wanted them to To pay homage to westerns a bit more you know, I was sort of I was sort of expecting more cameos from very specific
[00:48:12] More cameos that were very western specific right like there's a lot of weird cameos like when Ryan Reynolds shows My favorite cameo. Yeah, he just shows up has no lot. Yeah, he gives no signs yet shot and yeah It's just fun
[00:48:25] I'm sure this is a scene that's funny maybe the ice is dropping on people that we're gonna play for you right now We live in a terrible place in time The American West is a disgusting awful dirty dangerous place look around you everything out here
[00:48:38] That's not you wants to kill you outlaws angry drunk people scorned hookers hungry animals Diseases major and minor injuries Indians the weather you can get killed just go into the bathroom
[00:48:49] See those guys over there the guys are working to silver mines see what they're eating ribs doused in hot sauce They eat hot spicy foods every meal of the day. You know why because their pallets are so completely
[00:48:58] Gold from inhaling poison gas 12 hours a day down in the mines That's all they can taste you know what that kind of diet does to your guts? They literally die from their own fart Yeah, I mean the movies fun
[00:49:13] It wasn't like as crack up of a movie as Ted was I will say yeah, it's a little more of a story is very loose like it's a lot of right Like it's a series of gags and then there's like these threads of this
[00:49:27] Story that kind of just kind of finishes at the end. Yeah, I mean because it is definitely more of a family guy episode Yeah, Ted had more of like a story like in a character arc
[00:49:39] Right and this one is just kind of like hey here we're poking fun at the west here. Here's a Acronistic joke and then here's yeah Dude runaway slaves Yeah, that's it like there's just really at moments like that
[00:49:53] I guess if there's a part where they're at a shooting gallery called runaway slaves Which is like super Samo Super racist but my favorite was the smiling slave with a big piece of watermelon The logo it's horrible, but it's funny at the same time because
[00:50:11] I know that's how people were back then yeah, but you know and Neil Patrick Harris I actually think kind of stills the movie a little bit. I think he's pretty funny when he's in it. Yeah
[00:50:21] You know I mean it's in the the trailer where he's like oh no he didn't but that whole little scene where he's talking about I mean they're really corny jokes But for some reason he pulls him off he pulls it off so well
[00:50:33] And as a really funny guy and you know, I was that he's the bad guy because he has a mustache Just give you Ralph Garmin's in it a little bit. It's kind of fun seeing yes That's English teacher
[00:50:48] Because his line was I took a fucking half day for this one better die There's just some fun little down moments I'm always a big fan of the comedies. I mean I like the big jokes and stuff but I'm more of a fan of
[00:51:03] Swav kind of dialogue and help you know Stuff you might miss throughout The movie I mean even when Albert runs away and he's in the can and he's like how the fuck do you build a fire? Like totally stupid Unprepared for it You use his en horse horse
[00:51:24] I mean cow Isn't like he's dad when he fart he's like how the camera my dick Just get some fart needles again Just really good no more friends Yeah, what you did today What was it
[00:51:45] What even lines where he comes in and his parents are sitting down and he's like I want you to switch seats every once in a while Fuck off because her voice in the same seat and really dead always bearing himself next to my mom On the hill oh
[00:52:01] It's cool seeing Charlie's there and kind of be fun. Yeah, you know I love seeing actors like that I meant a safe ready. You could have anybody in that role. She really didn't do anything in the movie. Yeah, it's too bad
[00:52:11] And as I think she really talented, but yeah, here she doesn't really do much Yeah, no well she sucks on his mustache at one point. That was pretty good while you masturbate People think I'm point oh my sister said this is matters
[00:52:30] Just goofy things and then you know Django makes an appearance at the end See that's what I was expecting more stuff like that you know Because if you were gonna make like a modern blazing saddle. I think some of how you do that as you get
[00:52:44] You know Clint Eastwood to show up at one point you get you know Gene Hackman And they they pay homage to some of the little things but the title card was totally That the opening is definitely Westerny the music is pretty awesome. I think like it yeah
[00:53:04] Throw us back to a lot of the old music and that all that like I think it's CG But it kind of looks like a mad painting Unless I mean they were on locations, but I really kind of doubt that they spent the money to go shoot at
[00:53:20] Don at the What do you call it the mittens right the ones in in monument valley right? Stuff like that where I'm just sure it's it's probably just a really good CG sort of matte But it looks cool like it harkens back to the old sort of
[00:53:37] Gone with the wind kind of mats um But like then yeah, the way he defeats lame meason doesn't really tie in with I mean it's it's neat but it's not like it's not like a really funny Brilliant play on westerns or anything like that lame meason's pretty straightforward
[00:53:56] Yeah, I was gonna say he plays it really straight and he is actually a pretty good villain I mean totally everybody else is kind of goofy and haven't fun and he doesn't even lose his accent And this he just plays it out completely straight
[00:54:05] He's like no, I'm here to fuck everything though. I mean it does get it Daisy up his butt But probably not even his buddies like no, I'm too serious for this
[00:54:13] That but double get a butt double. I don't know. I mean he's pretty goofy. Yeah, I mean I've Is if you tell if you were gonna get paid to have Charlie's there and put the Daisy up your butt I do it yeah
[00:54:25] Which he actually tickle my butt a little bit that'd be awesome. Whoa But no Ryan just be still You're conscious You know one of my favorite little bits to is there's a part where after he meets
[00:54:42] Anna Charlie's there in his character. I'm coming out of the are walking out of the saloon He's like there's the mayor he's been dead for three days and no man cares Oh, it appears they didn't even appoint the temporary mayor Oh
[00:54:56] Has been an investigation. Oh, oh good. Oh good the wolves are at least dragging About here Oh, I love Seth McFarlane. I don't know if he's like a leading guy kind of person I don't know yeah, that's interesting. I think he's got the
[00:55:10] He's got the charisma and the timing for it. I think it might just not be this role right because like You remember that Ted That's him. Yeah, I mean he's a very just whether or not. Yeah, I think his
[00:55:22] His face doesn't necessarily do it, but his his comedic timing the way delivers the line. Yeah, is great If you switch him out for somebody else, I don't think it would have been as funny
[00:55:34] You about a cared more, but I didn't really need to care about the dude that was like pitiful Yeah, I agree. I don't know you know I guess it's it's hard though to be
[00:55:44] Kind of the straight guy in those movies. I mean he has a lot of goofy lines in it But you know it's more of what people are doing around you right that will define the movie Yeah, every time somebody dies around him You know the long running jagger
[00:55:58] Dr. Jagger the wrong running running joke of people smiling in the camera and yeah He finds it for us observations about the old West that like we're really entertaining exactly That was the stuff that I wanted more of right was the jokes about you know
[00:56:13] Oh man, he's smiling in his photo and I hear he's not a psychopath You know you've been Giovanni ribs these character where he's you know meeting his girlfriend and she's a horror But they want to support each other because they're good Christian people into Let's fuck okay
[00:56:35] Oh man yeah that that whole joke was pretty good. Yeah, you know you always worry about jokes like that being played out But if for some reason it always worked. I think it's because the actors who do it. Yeah, I usually don't like there's a little one
[00:56:45] But that's not she was really good in this yeah night even in wake Reck it around Yeah, I like her and I can wrap your cheating When I have to when I have to see her yeah, I showed you
[00:56:58] I have to see her and it relies on her being funny and not the having the voice of a adorable child That's when I don't like her very much. I forget the name of the movie is the one with Seth Rogan and Michelle Williams
