This is the messiest, most awkward & cringe, extremely humbling, raw, & vulnerable episode yet. There are so many parts of me that have been avoiding the call to talk on this topic, the perfectionist parts in me are mortified that weâre going through with it without editing or going back to âfix & tweakâ things, and the darkness that lives within me is terrified at its exposure.
And Iâm saying fu*k it, send it anyways.
In this episode I share my lessons from 2023 on healing from repressed childhood sexual trauma that surfaced in Dec 2022. This is the trigger warning and no details from the trauma are shared, just the process that Iâve been in since so that I am healed from it. I am beyond blessed that I have had people in my life that have been courageous enough to speak to their trauma and create a safe space for me to step into my healing journey with it; my intention & prayer is that this episode will do the same for someone else đđź I trust that as more of us speak to our journeys it will help the whole to heal.
And it also clears the space for me to share more about whatâs on tap for 2024 and the visions ahead. So much of my healing journey has been about going deep in my own work that I teach others and Iâm ready to share and amplify it with the world in a whole new way, LFG.
Some of my favorite moments from this episode:
âĄgetting it done & the completion energy from sharing
âĄnormalizing something so many of people are struggling with
âĄstepping into 2024 with fresh AF energy to AMPLIFY

[00:00:43] Welcome back to the Make One Day Happen Podcast friends. I'm your host, Shenna Jean.
[00:00:47] And today I've got a real cute guest if I do say so myself because it's me. We are kicking things off
[00:00:53] this year with a solo dolo podcast because I have got lessons and visions, maybe a little bit of
[00:00:58] tea to share with you. So what up 2024? We made it y'all. And I'll be honest, there were moments in 2023
[00:01:07] where I didn't know if I would or if I wanted to. Another thing I really didn't want to do was
[00:01:13] this podcast episode, this solo episode, real talk. I had such a vulnerability hangover from the last
[00:01:18] one. And I've actually been hearing to do this solo episode since October, October is when I got
[00:01:24] tapped and it's like, hey you're supposed to do this. I'm like, I'm not ready. I'm not ready. I'm not ready.
[00:01:28] And I've been putting it off ever since then. So I'm going to sit here and shake some things off.
[00:01:33] I'm going to
[00:01:38] take some deep breaths and trust that this is going to go exactly how it needs to. And
[00:01:45] my intention for this solo episode is to share my experience in service so that it might resonate
[00:01:51] with someone who really needs it. To be open about my journey knowing that we are all out here having
[00:01:58] this human experience together and that we all have so much more in common than society wants us
[00:02:03] to believe. So I pray that this touches someone right when they need it. And I same as last time,
[00:02:09] I know that part of my intention is sharing and being witnessed. I know that that actually sets us
[00:02:14] free from things that have been holding us back. So without further ado, let's fucking get it, shall we?
[00:02:20] So 2023. Huh! Really very excited to have that one behind me, to be honest. It was my year of faith.
[00:02:28] That was my word for the year, my intention that I set. And I got to lean into that one. I really
[00:02:34] got taught a lot about the polarity of intention setting and like faith sounds really good as a
[00:02:40] intention when you first started. And then you get into these situations in the year where like you
[00:02:45] really have to cling to your intention to get through whatever it is that life is presenting for
[00:02:49] you. And so thank God, literally, for faith and what it pulled me through because 2023 was very big.
[00:02:58] It was very confronting and it was all about healing and grounding foundations, really creating
[00:03:05] and birthing forth something that is so much bigger and beyond me. It was also really slow
[00:03:11] and very steady. Maybe the slowest and steadiest year I've ever had. It was really all about like
[00:03:17] slowing down to speed up. I recently had George Mumford on the show, y'all please tell me you've
[00:03:22] listened to that episode. George Mumford, you know like the George Mumford, okay so you might not
[00:03:26] know George Mumford himself. However, you probably know his like biggest clients of all time,
[00:03:32] MJ and Kobe. Yes, like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Yes. So his mindfulness coach came on to
[00:03:38] the podcast. We talked about so many different things but one of the biggest concepts that landed
[00:03:44] an integrated for me in this lifetime and this past year is this idea about slowest smooth
[00:03:50] is fast and it's a potent concept. It's very annoying to hear at first when you're someone who moves
[00:03:58] as traditionally fast as I move in life, I'm a manifesting generator, I like to go go go go go if
[00:04:04] you met me, you know that I move quick. I talk quick, I act quick, I move fast in life all of my
[00:04:13] life. I have been running at full speed sprinting, collapsing and then getting back up to do it again.
[00:04:17] That's you know on the last episode that I did solo, I really spoke to the burnout that I experienced
[00:04:23] from running too fast and what that was like to have to shut down a business around burnout.
[00:04:30] Don't recommend highly highly give it like zero out of 10 stars and it's it really opened my eyes
[00:04:38] to this pattern that I have that I've been running at full speed sprinting, collapsing,
[00:04:43] running, sprinting, collapsing, getting back up really good at the get back up part however
[00:04:49] it's some of that in between and that slowing down that I have really resisted my whole life because
[00:04:54] in a very transparent manner I felt like I've been running from something because I was subconsciously.
[00:05:01] So plot twists, I'm all about a good plot twist you could call them a challenge, you could call
[00:05:06] them a setback, you could call it, you know call it what you want and one of the biggest plot twists
[00:05:11] of my life came about in December of 2022. So almost a year ago now I was spending time with family
[00:05:19] over the holidays, I was recovering from this clinical burnout and listening deeply,
[00:05:25] deeply for what was next in life for me and in that process I had the delight of finding an
[00:05:33] uncovering repressed childhood sexual trauma that revealed itself and I'm gonna let that pause
[00:05:41] because I really just said that on my podcast and not something that I would have guessed that
[00:05:46] I'd be talking about at any point in my life much less on a public platform like this and here we are.
[00:05:52] I've really been sitting with praying over, listening for whether I'm supposed to be sharing this openly
[00:05:59] and I'm not gonna be sharing any details so no big trigger warning here however what I have really
[00:06:05] come to recognize is that sharing some of my process over the last year and healing through
[00:06:10] this repressed childhood trauma is really important. Again not something that I necessarily want to be
[00:06:17] doing in this moment however I have been working on my obedience when I'm hearing something that's
[00:06:24] coming from outside of me above me that I'm being called to do, being obedient to that and this is
[00:06:30] one of those things so I'm also as I mentioned manifesting generator that's human design if you're
[00:06:36] not familiar with it my profile is a 35 and in this moment of course I'm blanking on what that
[00:06:43] actually like the little quote for that is however that that combination of 35 part of my assignment
[00:06:49] on this earth is to go check things out try them on and report back to the world what I find
[00:06:55] and so in sitting with this revelation about my life and like do I share this do I not share this
[00:07:02] I was like I guess I'm supposed to share this I think there's also a reality that one in four women
[00:07:09] one in six men are sexually abused before the age of 18 so that means that literally 42 million
[00:07:16] adult survivors of child sexual abuse are in the US right now and that's a lot so there is
[00:07:23] an extreme amount of trauma just in this one small area alone right and so if me sharing
[00:07:33] what I've been doing to work my way through this can help just even one person then the vulnerability
[00:07:39] hangover I'm about to have is so fucking worth it so this is not something I would wish upon
[00:07:46] anyone first and foremost let me just say that like obviously yes this is not a great situation
[00:07:53] however it has also been one of the most confirming revelations of my life I understand myself
[00:08:00] so much better now like I make so much more sense the reasons for being in the behaviors and some
[00:08:07] of the ways I've been stuck in life have all started to like click into place when this understanding
[00:08:12] of what happened to me at a young age and it's not something that the repressed side of it like
[00:08:19] that's a fucking plot twist you all to come they have that come out of nowhere is wild I'm also
[00:08:25] really grateful for the repressed nature I cannot imagine and I have so much more empathy and
[00:08:31] compassion for humanity knowing that there are so many people that carry the knowingness of abuse
[00:08:38] like this with them their whole lives and I cannot imagine what that's like I really do thank God
[00:08:43] every day that I didn't have that knowledge and that weight and that it has been hidden from me until
[00:08:50] I was at a point in my life where I am well equipped with tools and understandings of the body
[00:08:55] and the mind and how to move through this and heal through it in a pretty effective way also knowing
[00:09:02] that it's going to be something that is now with me for the rest of my life and so
[00:09:07] this is where we get to talk about it we get to normalize this we get to share some best practices
[00:09:13] that have been really supportive for me on this journey and I've been slowing the fuck down that's
[00:09:20] been the biggest thing for me I would say that has supported me and really been with this recognizing
[00:09:26] that I've been running from it subconsciously for so long now that it has come to light and getting
[00:09:30] to be with it I have been down the rabbit hole with the intention of healing three things specifically
[00:09:37] as a result of this trauma so first and foremost my relationship to God we'll get into that also
[00:09:43] another thing I did not ever think if you would have told me one year ago you're going to be talking
[00:09:48] about God and trauma on your podcast next year I would have been like look off that is the last
[00:09:53] things that I'll be talking about and here we are so first off the the thing I've been healing is my
[00:09:59] relationship with God the second thing I've been healing is my relationship with my body and
[00:10:04] the third thing I've been healing is the relationship with my mind and you know I love the idea from
[00:10:12] yoga about the coaches that we actually have five bodies and so really I've been working on
[00:10:17] different bodies right my spiritual body my energetic body my thought body my physical body
[00:10:24] have really just been undergoing this this healing process and so slowing down to eliminate all
[00:10:30] the unnecessary distracting parts of life so I can really just sit and focus and recognize what
[00:10:37] needed to shift has been what 2023 has been about so first off the whole God thing I grew up in
[00:10:45] the church and had some experiences that really jaded my view on God and what the church stands for
[00:10:55] how they operate all of it so I haven't really been fucking with church since I was in high school
[00:11:02] we got kicked out there's a whole thing and I can now see through the lens of my trauma that
[00:11:08] I actually got pretty pissed at God when I was five and had a lot of questions hatred very angry
[00:11:18] why is this fucking happening where are you God hello is anyone there and I was really five when I
[00:11:25] decided to shut it down with God and so coming back around now again like I said I'm so grateful
[00:11:33] that this has been repressed and I haven't been carrying these memories with me this whole time
[00:11:37] because that's heavy this shit so heavy and so I am recognizing that while I've been super connected
[00:11:45] spiritually to the universe and done a lot I have always had a connection with source creator
[00:11:55] whatever we choose to call it right I have been in this beautiful journey of reclaiming what God
[00:12:02] means to me and not through the lens of a church so that's been my first primary reason for slowing
[00:12:09] down and what I needed to heal recognizing that I've always been protected I was never abandoned
[00:12:15] in this and I never am alone and that's been a whole ass journey all I'm not gonna push God ever
[00:12:23] on anyone because I know how traumatic that's been for me in my life and what I will say is that there
[00:12:32] is absolutely beyond the shadow of a doubt something greater than us you can call it whatever you
[00:12:38] want to you can call it God universe source creator all uh anything take take whatever you need to
[00:12:44] call it just recognize that there is something bigger than us is and if you choose not to recognize
[00:12:49] that that's your journey to go for it life is way fucking cooler when you get into rhythm with God
[00:12:55] I will tell you that much and I believe that that does not have to look like it did for me in
[00:13:00] the past and so this year has been really a beautiful uh journey of returning to that and finding
[00:13:07] and defining my own relationship in a way that's really nourishing to my spirit and my soul
[00:13:14] so secondly I've been slowing down completely to reset my relationship with my body
[00:13:19] and what this looked like for me uh in the first six months of 2023 was having zero expectations
[00:13:26] of any kind on my body like I'm talking we did not work out we did not shave anything
[00:13:31] or we did not do nails or hair or anything at all in order to pay respects and honor the sacred
[00:13:39] vessel that just needed a fucking break especially for women there's so much pressure to look a
[00:13:46] certain way to dye your hair so you don't show your grays and keep your nails up and all of these
[00:13:53] things that I recognize have always been coming from a place of doing it more so for other people
[00:13:59] or to look a certain way for men and I just didn't want to fucking do that anymore
[00:14:04] I really just needed to be like no ma'am thank you you have done the most for me in this lifetime
[00:14:10] and um I also recognize that the level of disassociation which is really common in trauma
[00:14:17] survivors was very high for me I can think back to um specifically training with Suzanne Conrad
[00:14:25] she did a lot of queuing for body sensations and our trainings together and I never ever could feel
[00:14:31] anything as like what do you mean body sensation I don't feel shit in my body um and so this year
[00:14:37] has really been about reintegrating um coming back into my body teaching myself how to feel safe
[00:14:43] in my body again because again at the age of five I did not feel safe in my body I dipped the
[00:14:48] look on that situation and taught myself how to do that whenever I was feeling like something could be
[00:14:55] unsafe so I've spent most of my life dissociated um so if you're ever like oh remember that time when
[00:15:02] please do not be offended if I don't remember that time um I'm working on being wholly and fully
[00:15:08] present now and in the moment and that hasn't just always been the case for me so really
[00:15:13] slowing down to reconnect to learn how to listen to my body to learn how to hear
[00:15:18] how what it's telling me and how it's telling me things to give it a break to not put expectations on
[00:15:24] it and really coming back into the the last half of 2023 re-approaching working out and
[00:15:32] uh beauty standards and um just performance expectations in my body from a completely different lens
[00:15:39] has been oh the most refreshing thing ever ever and third the third way that I really have been
[00:15:49] coming at this healing journey is from the lens of reprogramming and all the shitty thoughts that
[00:15:54] embedded at age five so I was blessed enough to sit down and do a session with uh my girl Kate
[00:16:04] Kirsberger if you have not listened to one of those two episodes yet I highly recommend it she's
[00:16:08] my thought reprogramming mentor she's also a raky master and so we did a session where I was able to
[00:16:14] go back to that version of self and at five years old and really listen to what she was saying and
[00:16:19] what she was making everything mean and to pull out that string of programming that got embedded those
[00:16:25] limiting beliefs those lies of you can't trust your family you've got to do this on your own blah blah blah blah
[00:16:31] all these things that made sense in that moment and was me protecting myself however no longer make
[00:16:39] sense for me as an adult full grown version of Shina Jean to have that blueprint and really recognize
[00:16:45] oh wow these things all line up right now and are the exact blueprint for what I need to be reprogramming
[00:16:53] so being able to walk myself through my own process with the support of some trusted deeply
[00:17:00] respected humans that have also been down this path has been so rewarding in it takes time
[00:17:07] reprogramming your mind is simple it's also not easy and one of the things that tends to happen
[00:17:14] when we're in this deep healing work is there's going to be things in life that present themselves so
[00:17:19] you get to practice like have you really reprogrammed this let's see what happens when you're presented
[00:17:24] with the situation that pushes your little button like this are you gonna react in the same way or
[00:17:28] do you now choose a different way of being so between these three things and these three focuses of
[00:17:35] my relationship to something greater than me my relationship to my body my relationship to my mind
[00:17:40] has been where 2023 really kept me very slow moving very smoothly so that hopefully here in 2024
[00:17:50] we gonna be on a different a different level some things that really helped me along the way
[00:17:58] beyond a shadow of a doubt staying religious about my energy hygiene routine so energy hygiene
[00:18:02] is something that you're going to be hearing about so much more for me and what that really
[00:18:07] consists of is meditating journaling cold showers gratitude and conscious language like those are
[00:18:13] the five pillars of energy hygiene and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt when I am practicing those
[00:18:20] things daily I am in a pretty regulated unshakeable state when I start to slip away from those things is when
[00:18:30] you know things can get a little bit dicey so really really really staying just over the top
[00:18:41] committed and devoted to practicing my energy hygiene has been able to keep me in a really good space
[00:18:48] as I move through this healing process I'm also prioritizing somatic care so somatic is this as
[00:18:54] another word for body care what that's looked like for me is chiropractic y'all I think you know
[00:19:00] how much of a chiropractic stan I am and I will continue to be tell the day I die public service
[00:19:07] announcement chiropractors are not back doctors they are nervous system doctors and they are helping
[00:19:14] teach your body new ways of communicating with itself so if you're someone who like me has been
[00:19:20] dissociated and maybe messages are getting a little mixed up and you're holding a lot of stuck
[00:19:24] energy and trauma in your body go see a chiropractor go see a chiropractor that shit will help you 100%
[00:19:33] no ifs ands or butts about it go see principled chiropractor let me let me rephrase that just like
[00:19:39] in any industry there's all types of people out there right there's good ones there's bad ones you
[00:19:45] want to be looking for a principled chiropractor if you have questions about what that is like please hit
[00:19:49] me up happy to help you sort one of those out okay massage has been really important for me in my
[00:19:57] body sound healing sound healing it's so dope and there's going to be more and more sound healers on
[00:20:02] the podcast this year just to really help y'all understand like what's happening sound healing is
[00:20:06] like an energetic massage all right and so it is the thing that can without a whole lot of thinking
[00:20:13] about anything talking my thing you just lay there and receive and you literally get higher
[00:20:17] vibrations of energy put into your body on a cellular level it's so dope breathwork huge phana
[00:20:25] breathwork there is different states of consciousness that you get to with breathwork and sound
[00:20:29] healing where you're able to access and reprogram on a subconscious level that can quite literally
[00:20:36] change your life I also had psilocybin whoo that's a big word aka mushroom let's just call it what
[00:20:43] it is I had a mushroom journey of a lifetime y'all it released an insane I'm talking insane
[00:20:50] amount of energy that had been trapped in my body for 35 years that changed me it completely changed
[00:20:56] me so I truly believe in the forms of different somatic cares and plant medicines that can support
[00:21:06] these types of healing journeys versus having to go through some of the more traditional western
[00:21:12] medical systems another thing that I did it was really really helpful for me in this journey was
[00:21:18] I canceled I canceled so much my whole life I've had a pattern of hiding in plain sight in public
[00:21:25] and other people's homes that I could run subconsciously from this and I've kept my schedule
[00:21:30] hella packed I've always got a social plan I'm always hanging out with friends and going to their
[00:21:34] places and meeting people and traveling and doing the most yo your girl was all about doing the
[00:21:40] most same yes yes yes and this is a year that I canceled hellish it like I canceled dating that
[00:21:45] was it that was off I canceled trips I canceled community I canceled it all and the name of being
[00:21:51] still and the name of being grounded in my body and just with myself with God with family and it was
[00:22:00] so healing it was so so so healing I never realized how much um canceling plans would really
[00:22:10] change things for me so um those are some of the things that have been really helpful for me and I
[00:22:20] think back to what 2023 was and um I'm so grateful for the people who have been supporting me in
[00:22:29] this journey I'm so grateful for patients for the love for the encouragement um and for
[00:22:36] the ability to move through this in a way that feels just really supported and so if you are
[00:22:44] finding things bubbling up from your past that you didn't realize were there or maybe you
[00:22:48] stuffed down or maybe you've been carrying all of them just know how much I love you and that
[00:22:52] you are not alone there are so many ways to be supported in this recovery journey that if I can
[00:23:00] ever ever ever be of help to you please please please reach out and let me know um this year has
[00:23:06] brought me so many lessons so many lessons and as I reflected on 2023 I was like okay okay yes 2023
[00:23:16] you taught me the most even though it hasn't been the most fun I'm a first and foremost
[00:23:20] faith y'all I have I've always been obsessed with this quote that says um have faith in your self
[00:23:26] in your future and I think it's like I don't even know it's sitting here somewhere but um Robert
[00:23:33] F Kennedy is that right or am I thinking of that guy because he's running for president I can't
[00:23:37] I can't quite tell um any who faith in myself in my future is something that I have leaned into
[00:23:43] heavily I love me some future self as you probably are aware and I also got to really redefine faith
[00:23:52] this year and find God again in a way that aligns with my soul that is sensitive to my religious trauma
[00:23:59] and it's turned everything upside down on the best way possible for me and I also learned about
[00:24:08] the sacred power of no from canceling everything I really recognize that I was such a yes girl such a
[00:24:16] yes girl and that can be really fun for a while it's also really fucking exhausting and when I
[00:24:22] realized that I was saying yes from scarcity not from abundance like there's there's a distinct
[00:24:27] difference when you say yes from scarcity and yes from abundance there's also a distinct
[00:24:33] difference when you say no from scarcity and no from abundance so I really encourage y'all
[00:24:39] to check yourself like where are your yeses in your notes coming from are they coming from abundance
[00:24:44] are they coming from scarcity I realized that I had my shit mixed up I was saying yes from scarcity
[00:24:51] and that had got to and I was never saying no but let's also be clear I say no was really a very
[00:24:57] challenging part of my vocabulary as someone who teaches conscious language and word diets
[00:25:02] no for me was something that I really had to lean into this year and so this was my season of no
[00:25:08] and passing up all expenses paid trips to Scotland and saying no to best friends of a lifetime
[00:25:15] in celebration saying no to celebrating my 40th in the way that I had envisioned for the last 10
[00:25:22] years saying no to so many things and from a place of abundance trusting that I was right where
[00:25:28] I needed to be and that by saying no I was going to gain so much more than I would from saying yes
[00:25:34] was an edge it was a fucking edge y'all and it was powerful I'm not scared to say no anymore
[00:25:43] hey winning and be really being able to check that undertone what is the frequency of the energy
[00:25:50] that I'm saying yeses and knows from has been so powerful I also so if you've if you've been hanging
[00:25:57] with me muscle testing has been something that I've been into for a while this year has gone
[00:26:02] through the roof with muscle testing and really learning how to listen for the hell yes and the
[00:26:07] hell no in my body and leaning into my body's sacred intelligence versus just staying in my mind
[00:26:13] all the time that's one of the things that from human design my type specifically is supposed
[00:26:18] to be listening to my gut and getting out of my head when it comes to making decisions I don't
[00:26:23] know about y'all but I will spend hours on some dumb shit like an email that like why am I
[00:26:30] reading this for the 13th time it's fine just press send like I can overthink the shit out of
[00:26:35] some stuff like this podcast episode that has been sitting on the tray for how many months is
[00:26:42] this now four months I overthink the shit out of some things and so being able to use my body
[00:26:48] to get out of my head has been so powerful there's a book called power versus force ironically
[00:26:54] didn't mean to do that and there it is power versus force by David Hawkins that really talks about
[00:27:01] a the scale of consciousness how emotions and frequency of emotions are trapped in our bodies
[00:27:06] and how we can get up and raise our vibration through them and through the power of muscle testing
[00:27:13] which is based in kinesiology learn how to get yes or no answers that's connected into this
[00:27:18] greater intelligence that we're all plugged into so that's a good plug for that book I love it so much
[00:27:24] highly recommend you check it out um okay what other lessons that I learned in 2023 let's see oh
[00:27:32] that slowing down to speed up thing truly change everything I've been able to root in grounds
[00:27:37] so that I can rise again turning 40 happened this year and I'll be honest I was not stoked about it
[00:27:44] at first I got to sit with a lot of resistance a lot of avoidance um to turning a number that
[00:27:52] doesn't really feel truly aligned with some parts of me um also we live in a society that for women
[00:27:58] turning 40 is like k-buy you're basically walking off to your your deathbed now whereas I feel like
[00:28:07] men are like oh yeah you're distinguished now let's see your grades for women it's not quite
[00:28:12] not quite the same experience and I also had done a guided visualization literally almost 10 years
[00:28:19] ago about my 40th birthday and what it would be like and it was not what it was appearing to be
[00:28:27] in planning it and so I was in the season of nose and canceling everything so I could really
[00:28:31] say focus on the things that I had been prioritizing and saying yes to and it became more and more
[00:28:38] clear to me that stained and Tulsa for my 40th was exactly what I needed to do and I fucking hated
[00:28:43] that I didn't I was like what why I like I want to go traveling I need to get out of here I haven't
[00:28:49] done anything for myself this year like let's go do something let's go rally a lot of people and I
[00:28:55] had zero bandwidth to do any of that any of it and once I saw that Tulsa was like planning me this
[00:29:01] whole esporthy party right here without having to go anywhere and could bring some of my most favorite
[00:29:07] humans here to celebrate with me it started to fall into place and I really got to see and practice
[00:29:14] and be in that idea that it's never about what we're doing it's always about what we're being
[00:29:20] it's what we're being y'all and when I could relax into the idea of 40 being a level a that's
[00:29:27] always my favorite thing fuck age let's get on levels I'm on level 4.0 now and it's dope you wake up
[00:29:34] when you turn 40 and I've had this conversation with multiple four year olds there's this flip
[00:29:39] that switches when you turn 40 that I don't give a fuck flip and I think that there's like a
[00:29:45] crescendo maybe of the energy of giving way too many fucks about turning 40 that happens
[00:29:50] and that energy that starts to build right before it and then you just wake up and I was like
[00:29:54] huh oh my god I really don't give many fucks right now and it's gorgeous big fan of 40 now big
[00:30:04] big fan of 40 now and I got to celebrate here in Tulsa and there's a sneaker sware it was for
[00:30:12] a Friday we got to look at art we got to really just celebrate here in this community that has
[00:30:21] been so generous I am so for wreaking grateful for the humans and the community here that have
[00:30:28] welcomed me warmly who have opened up the doors they've pulled out chairs for me in Tulsa it's been
[00:30:35] I was a little I was a little hesitant I didn't know if I was gonna stay I didn't know if I was
[00:30:39] gonna like it after experiencing some fresh community trauma and Phoenix in the sense of
[00:30:48] it hurts to get really intimate with the community and then have to leave right and so I know
[00:30:56] that there was resistance for me and not wanting to get too close here in Tulsa I've met some
[00:31:02] incredible people and also I'm like am I gonna stay here is this gonna be am I gonna be here for
[00:31:07] a little while if so then okay I'm more open to this idea if not I don't know if I really want to
[00:31:12] like do that whole thing again and so it's been I've been really gentle with myself in where I would
[00:31:18] typically like dive in and do all the social things and get out there blah blah blah that hasn't
[00:31:23] really been my mo in Tulsa and I am just really really grateful if you're listening y'all know who
[00:31:31] you are for holding me down for welcoming me with open arms for making introductions and really
[00:31:38] just sweeping me into this this community in such a organic way I'm oh so grateful thank you
[00:31:48] it's also Tulsa's provided a lot of clarity for me that I did not see coming all right y'all
[00:31:53] a lot of clarity coming in hot from Tulsa and it really has to do with with make one day happen
[00:32:00] and who make one day happen is for one of the things in business and marketing that if you are
[00:32:06] going down that road you get talked to a lot about is nichin down nichin down nichin down who knows
[00:32:12] how to actually say that and it's something I've resisted for a long time because what I teach
[00:32:18] within my content and coaching is actually so applicable to just like humans across the board
[00:32:23] that I've been like no I can do this with anybody and the reality of it is I have actually as I look
[00:32:32] back over these last 10 years of my life and like okay what have I been doing who have I been serving
[00:32:37] how have I been helping what's lit me up the most I can finally see what's been right in front of
[00:32:43] me the whole time and it took Tulsa and a special group of humans to really point this out for me
[00:32:51] in an unconscious way then no idea they were doing it but founders I serve founders y'all
[00:32:56] I serve founders who give a fuck about their own development their people and their company culture
[00:33:02] and that's what I've been doing since my days and the women that's what I've been doing and all
[00:33:06] of the startups that's what I've been doing and my coaching for the most part most of my clients have
[00:33:12] all been entrepreneurs founders people who are setting out in the world to create a company that
[00:33:20] changes things and wow am I so grateful for that clarity and it's so funny right because it's like
[00:33:27] right in front of you the whole time and feels like my little my little glasses got a little
[00:33:33] white that I'm like oh okay thank you Tulsa thank you for helping me see this yeah the idea of
[00:33:39] you know closing a business due to burnout that really taught me so much more than I could ever
[00:33:45] want to know and now I also see how divinely planned that all was having that lived experience
[00:33:52] and now having the journey back from burnout it's been the biggest setup of my life because now
[00:33:58] I get to help people avoid that same thing like please let me give you some success codes so that
[00:34:05] you do not burn out and have to shut down your baby it sucks it's the worst feeling in the whole
[00:34:10] wide world I don't wish it upon anybody and I can really see how my journey is really just
[00:34:17] divinely guided to be able to help people avoid that same fate help founders who understand that
[00:34:23] they're creating something bigger than themselves avoid making some of those mistakes that I have so
[00:34:28] really really extra grateful for the clarity that Tulsa in its community has brought me
[00:34:35] in 2023 it's also caused like a huge pivot slow down to speed up moment within make one day happen
[00:34:43] and my business so that's that is also a plot twist that I did not see coming in 2023 I've been
[00:34:51] making my way through 2023 building some things getting really clear on how to organize my content
[00:34:58] how to teach it what it's all about and to have this this final piece of like who it's really for
[00:35:04] drop-in was just it was so perfect thank you thank you 2023 I also got real into my zone of genius
[00:35:14] this past year if you have not read the book the big leap by gay Hendrix man I really had to think
[00:35:22] about that one there I'm like am I about to say the right thing uh the big leap is one of my all time
[00:35:27] favorites all time favorites all that favorites and I was revisiting it in 2023 and uh he
[00:35:34] talks about the zone of genius the zone of excellence the zone of competence there's another one
[00:35:38] underneath that and we all we all kind of vacillate between these different zones and most of us are
[00:35:46] in a zone of competence as like a generalization for humanity humanity is living in the zone of
[00:35:51] competence there's some of us that make it to the zone of excellence and the zone of excellence
[00:35:57] is a really tempting place to be because it's way better than the zone of competence and like you
[00:36:01] feel comfortable there like you're finding success you're really in your zone if you can make it out
[00:36:06] to the zone of genius it's a terrifying leap to make that's why he calls loop the book the big leap
[00:36:11] and you have to get over some of your own bullshit some of your own programming all that good stuff
[00:36:15] to even get there but when you do things open up to a whole different playing field and so
[00:36:24] as a manifesting generator one of the things and the biggest traps that I can get myself into is
[00:36:29] being stuck in the zone of competence and excellence because mg is like doing everything we love learning
[00:36:34] and we love trying new things and so it's like oh well I could figure out how to build this website
[00:36:39] so let me just build my own website or oh I can like I can figure out Canva good enough
[00:36:43] or oh I can figure out how to do this and do that and so I've I've been doing the most in my business
[00:36:51] and that's a big part of starting any entrepreneurial journey is you gotta do shit that you don't
[00:36:56] want to do that is for sure and recognizing what is my zone of genius where do I actually want to
[00:37:01] be where is it most productive for me to be spending my time and my energy and I can gotten really
[00:37:10] clear that there's a few parts of my business that I've been doing over the years that I just
[00:37:15] am really ready to pass off to other people who it's their zone of genius because social media
[00:37:22] website design creative assets yes I can be good at them and that's where it gets tricky right
[00:37:29] I have so many people that are like oh but your brain is so great and like yeah I know thank you
[00:37:34] well I agree I'm so proud of my branding and where it's gotten me to and it doesn't match the vision
[00:37:40] in my head and what I know it's capable of because that's actually not my zone of genius and
[00:37:45] and so I am I'm really excited for what's what's to come in this journey of learning how to
[00:37:54] accept support receiving support another fatty lesson from 2023 learning how to receive support
[00:38:02] as someone who has been hyper independent like to the point where it's just it's not even cute anymore
[00:38:10] has been a big lesson and a big stretch for me is learning how to receive support
[00:38:16] and yo I'm out of your doing it I'm out you're receiving the support of family and loved ones bringing
[00:38:23] people into my business so that I'm not doing the things that I'm actually not the best at and
[00:38:28] it's been liberating it's been so liberating I really really enjoyed collaborating creatively
[00:38:36] there's something I uncovered this year that I'll be honest I've never really called myself or
[00:38:42] seen myself as like a creative that's just not something that I've traditionally identified with
[00:38:47] and it's a lie mainly because now I see very clearly that we are all creatives like as a human
[00:38:53] your birthright is to create that is literally what we're here to do we create shit that's
[00:38:58] that's all we do right with our language with our thoughts with our energy we're just all out
[00:39:03] you're creating and generating shit that's so being able to step into that and then also
[00:39:09] recognizing that like me telling myself I'm not that creative has been a big block in limiting
[00:39:14] belief that that one's that one's gone reprogrammed that shit and we are stepping into all the creative
[00:39:20] flow and all the collaborative creative flows right bringing people who zone of genius is
[00:39:27] um has been oh it's been such a treat it's been such a blessing I have some incredible humans
[00:39:35] in my life that have been supporting me in getting these creative projects out into the world
[00:39:40] first and foremost juju juulius hintin we're speaking to you sir and this is not for you to edit out
[00:39:47] this is very much for you to leave it you've been my producer since day one rocking with me since
[00:39:52] 2020 on this podcast and sir thank you I am so grateful for you I know that
[00:39:59] wrangling creatives is not an easy task and I am just really grateful for the support that you
[00:40:06] provide I would never do a podcast if it wasn't for you so thank you for allowing me to be in my
[00:40:12] process be it my flow I'm excited to add more systems and organization to this so I can crank out
[00:40:17] more of this for y'all in 2024 excited for the team that will support me in doing that I
[00:40:22] also want to give a shout out let me just shout out some people right now so shout out some of my creative
[00:40:27] collaborators uh Brian Johnson aka BJ the Dreamer y'all might remember him from I think he was maybe
[00:40:34] episode two of this podcast uh thank you so much for your hype your hype since the first day we
[00:40:40] met has meant the world to me thank you for seeing me uh seeing what I have to offer the world and
[00:40:47] really pulling me into the book writing process I almost said pushing me into it um I'm not
[00:40:52] gonna say pushing even though I just felt like that sometimes um you opening the door to writing a
[00:40:57] book for me is something I did not see coming in 2023 and I'm very glad that it did thank you
[00:41:04] for trusting me in my creative process recognizing that I needed to go back to the drawing board once
[00:41:08] I got so much clarity in this past year and I know that I'm gonna I'm gonna make you real proud with
[00:41:14] this book that's coming out um so thank you thank you thank you BJ I also
[00:41:22] Hannah Mae and Maria Camila these two ladies y'all oh there's some fucking real ones I'm in the
[00:41:28] middle of a brand revision right now and these two women are really really in the ring with me
[00:41:35] on birthing a whole new creative identity for make one day happen and when I tell you how insanely
[00:41:41] talented these two women are it it humbles me I'm like am I really working with these people like wow
[00:41:49] it has um called me forward in my own vision and my own creativity and to be surrounded by their talent
[00:41:56] by their vision by their creative eyes has just been oh it's it's a level up coming it's a level
[00:42:04] and I'm so so so so so so excited to show y'all what's on the way please stay tuned there are
[00:42:11] some big drops in 2024 and yeah I'm gonna pause right now and I'm gonna I'm gonna do our boy
[00:42:19] juju a favor and so that I don't have to also record a whole separate ad for this I'm gonna tell
[00:42:25] you about the intentional AF workshop so this is one that I've done before and it's happening
[00:42:30] on Wednesday January 17th at 6 30 pm central standard time all right I want you to consider that
[00:42:40] setting a one word intention for your year could completely change everything for you it's
[00:42:46] something I've been doing for the last 10 years uh something that I teach often with my clients
[00:42:50] and workshops is intention setting I know it sounds kind of woo woo or weird and in this workshop I'm
[00:42:55] gonna break down how to use intention setting in your business without sounding woo woo or weird
[00:43:00] that's what we're gonna do uh there is so much research that has now caught up to intention setting
[00:43:06] uh so it's really fun I like breaking it down helping you understand the how and the mechanics of
[00:43:10] it we're going to actually get you a one word intention that you can start to use and really talk
[00:43:16] through some of the benefits on why you would want to bring this into your business how to actually
[00:43:21] do that specifically as well so um one of the cool things and the upgrades to this workshop this year
[00:43:27] is that I recorded a virtual intentional AF sound journey that goes along with this so when you
[00:43:33] register for the workshop you will immediately get the sound journey so that you can do that on your
[00:43:38] own time I recommend doing it before you do the workshop and you do you boots choose your own adventure
[00:43:44] you'll be able to end that sound journey it's a guided visualization with the sound bath I
[00:43:48] parrot together and you will reflect on 2023 very get very complete and hold with that and then
[00:43:55] we will jump into 2024 and listen for your word of intention for the year and how that's playing out
[00:44:00] for you then you'll get to come to the workshop on January 17th we'll do some activation we're
[00:44:06] really going to ground it in with a semantic exercise which is why I do recommend the sound journey
[00:44:11] before the workshop and like I said it's not that big of a deal so um if you're listening I will share
[00:44:16] the link in the show notes uh you can come and do this with us it's going to be a lot of fun
[00:44:22] of course there's going to be recording if that time doesn't work for you because 2024 and I feel like
[00:44:28] every online workshop has a recording these days so yes I will send that to you because
[00:44:33] I want you to have this I want you all to have this so much that I'm doing this for free it means
[00:44:38] more to me that more people understand how important intention setting is and being intentional
[00:44:43] with a word and your energy and it does to put a price tag on this at this point so free 99
[00:44:50] come to the intentional AF workshop let's get your 2024 to be all that and then some y'all okay
[00:44:58] okay great now speaking of 2024
[00:45:06] this is where the vision part comes in so we just did all the lessons now I'm about to tell you
[00:45:10] about my visions for 2024 my word for 2024 is drumroll please
[00:45:18] and for five I don't know how that's gonna come out on the audio so let me just say it normally
[00:45:23] my word for 2024 is amplify I have spent so much of my life let's see here how do I want to say this
[00:45:32] and make sure it's in conscious language um plain small yep yeah that's it it's plain small
[00:45:37] and going back to the idea of the big leap uh what gay hindricks really calls it is the fear
[00:45:42] about shining um the fear about shining has been really really potent for me all of my life
[00:45:48] and had a death grip on me that's kept me playing small it's kept me building everyone else's businesses
[00:45:54] about my own it's kept me people pleasing and self-sabotaging it's done quite a bit right it's kept
[00:46:02] me from really sharing my message and who I am with the world are on a more vulnerable level
[00:46:09] and so 2024 is a year that I'm about to amplify everything I've been birthing and creating in 2023
[00:46:17] healing healing healing healing in 2023 and so now we're ready to get out here and play
[00:46:23] we are going up in 2024 and I have this vision for make one day happen when it started it was
[00:46:33] never going to be about me I think when you know for those of you who may be in the online coaching
[00:46:38] space considering it getting into it is like okay yeah hey it's sheena jean the online coach
[00:46:45] and I know at first glance when you look at make one day happen right now it's definitely giving
[00:46:49] online coach vibes there's this happy go lucky white lady dancing and yakner face off about
[00:46:54] all sorts of shit and in my creative process this past year I've realized the opportunity to really
[00:47:01] like go back and this is where that slowing down to speed up like let me step back now that I have a
[00:47:07] really clear tangible language around who it is that I serve a founders hey founders and leaders
[00:47:14] let's be real I love founders and leaders I'm not going to discriminate and if you're not a
[00:47:19] founder leader p s you can still be in this crew like I still love you and you can still benefit from
[00:47:24] what we're gonna do and for marketing purposes we are going to really be speaking into founders
[00:47:30] and leaders going forward so there's that and I it was really coming down to as I was concepting the
[00:47:38] book last fall I was feeling an immense amount of frustration and going back to my human design
[00:47:45] one of the key distinguishing energies for generators and manifesting generators to watch out for
[00:47:50] his frustration if you are experiencing frustration in your life and you're one of those two
[00:47:54] designs like that is a big red flag that you are supposed to be stopping you are supposed to be
[00:48:01] kind of pulling back seeing which different direction you can go and so that's what happened
[00:48:05] last year I was originally going to call the book what's wrong with me and otherwise I told myself
[00:48:10] and it was going to be very memory and going to be about some personal development lessons I've
[00:48:17] learned along the way from the memoir and then I was in the book cover process and recognizing that
[00:48:26] this just was not it the same it and it's tough because when you start to put stuff out online you
[00:48:32] feel like you're committed to it people are seeing it they're like when's the book coming and oh my
[00:48:36] gosh is it ready and it's like no no I really don't know what's happening so I got to pull back
[00:48:42] from that and start to really sharpen and focus my vision for make one day happen as a whole
[00:48:48] and the book itself so this book journey has been a real one and I'm so excited
[00:48:57] I am in the complete opposite of frustration now with this book because it's just really clicked
[00:49:02] into place the title wait for it make one day happen I know brilliant right like again coming back
[00:49:12] to sometimes things are just really right in front of us and sometimes we be overthinking the
[00:49:16] shit out of them and make one day happen is the name of the book the subtitle is it's time to bring
[00:49:21] woo woo to work it is a playbook that is going to help elevate your performance your energy and your
[00:49:27] purpose at work and in life one of the things that I've always been super passionate about helping
[00:49:32] people really destigmatize is the idea that personal development and professional development are
[00:49:37] actually just one and the same thing we like to try and separate them I've tried to separate them
[00:49:42] and it just doesn't work because what's showing up in one area is showing up in the other
[00:49:48] and when we try and divide the two it just makes it harder to actually solve for it when we
[00:49:53] recognize that like oh I'm actually the same person in both areas of life and if I'm not the same
[00:49:58] person in both areas of life there's something there to explore right and so make one day happen
[00:50:05] the book is really just going to be everything that it's my methodology it's energy hygiene it's
[00:50:11] thought reprogramming and it's elevated leadership and so much of my healing journey from my trauma has
[00:50:16] really been being in the trenches with my energy hygiene being in the trenches with my thought
[00:50:22] reprogramming and with my leadership recognizing how much I get to bring how much more of myself I
[00:50:29] get to bring to this now that I've really sat with healed and made space for my leadership to come
[00:50:34] back online so I am stoked for the book my goal is to have a presale for you in hopefully end of
[00:50:43] Q1 is what we're shooting for here and they have an actual book live in in the hands in Q3
[00:50:50] I'm like getting that vulnerability thing because then now I'm out here speaking things into life
[00:50:56] and we'll find out what else do I have to tell you all about maybe I'll read you the back cover
[00:51:01] cover is this how we show up at work is a reflection of how we're showing up in life so it's time
[00:51:08] to stop pretending that it's not personal development and professional development are one in the
[00:51:12] same and you can accelerate and amplify your performance energy and purpose when we collapse the
[00:51:17] two and start centering people development in the companies that are blazing a path forward
[00:51:22] in a world that is moving into a new era of technology and automation there's so many founders
[00:51:27] and companies that say one day they're going to prioritize themselves and their people why do we
[00:51:31] wait to start implementing people development and prioritizing ourselves until we make it what if
[00:51:36] we started prioritizing it as companies as a foundation to accelerate the growth and sustainability
[00:51:41] now we believe that strong people development strategy is a must have for any company that's serious
[00:51:47] about attracting and retaining top talent accelerating performance engaging and preparing teams
[00:51:52] for a substantial growth it actually giving a fuck about its people so the playbook that you're
[00:51:57] holding in your hands is a candid judge free zone to help you work on your shit because we've all
[00:52:01] got some if you're human the question is are you ready invest are you ready to invest some time
[00:52:06] and energy into yourself to do something about it do you care enough about your company and the people
[00:52:11] on your team to invest in them in order to reach new levels of growth and success and a rapidly
[00:52:16] changing workplace with simple exercises evidence based practices and real life examples this desktop
[00:52:22] and night stand worthy resource helps founders leaders and teams create time and space to invest
[00:52:27] in themselves in order to get ROI's beyond their wildest dreams using our proprietary methodology
[00:52:33] what does that you might ask it's energy hygiene thought reprogramming an elevated leadership so
[00:52:41] there's your teaser on the book it's coming it's coming y'all in the meantime I have an app for you
[00:52:47] and it's not even an app it's really not even an app it's actually a membership that is hosted
[00:52:51] on an app platform is a better way to be describing it and in my mangeness and juggling all the projects
[00:52:58] in all of the healing in all of the creative birthing it has been a very exciting thing to see this
[00:53:08] see it come to life right so you can literally go to the app store and type in make one day happen
[00:53:13] and there's a whole last after and I'm really excited to share more about what the membership is
[00:53:18] if you're interested in personal and professional development not quite sure where to start
[00:53:23] this is a place for you it's a monthly membership and there is a group coaching call there's access
[00:53:30] to the energy hygiene that that reprogramming all of my boot camps live in there there's a sound
[00:53:35] library in there so you can get these healing tones in your ears whatever you need to there's
[00:53:41] tracking there's accountability you can gamify it together so I am really looking forward to launching
[00:53:48] that in a much bigger way here in q1 and that's a little teaser for you

[00:54:52] it's taken me and how it's been a part of so many people's journeys and their healing journeys
