[00:00:00] Escaping Denver, patch 3, the Lost Noitates.

[00:00:30] I'm not going to tell you if I'm still in the city or how far I've gone,

[00:00:37] if I've even left it all.

[00:00:39] What I can tell you is that I'm safe.

[00:00:41] Until I find a more permanent location and can dive back into all of this,

[00:00:45] I wanted to share another one of Noah's Lost tapes.

[00:00:48] Normally, I'd like to be a little bit more selective in what Noah's tape I would digitize next,

[00:00:52] but being on the run has made things decidedly more limited.

[00:00:57] This one was just simply next after the Denver International Airport.

[00:01:01] See, as impossible as my situation is at the moment,

[00:01:04] being on the run from a shadow government,

[00:01:06] this episode of The Arc takes it one more click on the crazy dial.

[00:01:10] Despite that, I think it's prudent that we keep an open mind,

[00:01:13] even in the face of Hokeham.

[00:01:16] Wasn't that long ago that I thought big-foot spaceships and secret governments were Hokeham too?

[00:01:21] Scared of what I'll learn tomorrow.

[00:01:23] So here's another one of Noah's episodes from the past.

[00:01:26] This is The Arc.

[00:01:34] We're back!

[00:01:35] All right, for obvious reasons I still cannot tell you my name, but you know me.

[00:01:40] I'm the guy trying to solve the world's greatest unsolved mysteries.

[00:01:44] The guy who isn't afraid to dive had firsted the weird and unusual.

[00:01:49] Where myth leads to lore, leads conspiracies.

[00:01:54] Welcome to my show.

[00:01:56] The Arc.

[00:01:58] This is your one-stop-shop internet radio show covering all things conspiracy and mystery and out of this world.

[00:02:06] Today's subject is one of my favorites.

[00:02:09] You're going deep, so hold your breath as we discuss the lost city of Atlantis.

[00:02:17] Was it real?

[00:02:19] Where was it located?

[00:02:21] Was it truly a futuristic society?

[00:02:25] The legend of Atlantis has captivated my and probably everyone else's imagination for centuries.

[00:02:31] Why wouldn't it?

[00:02:33] The idea that the ocean took back an advanced city and plunged it into the bottom of the ocean is an epic story.

[00:02:40] Whether it was the gods or an earthquake or even aliens.

[00:02:44] Who cares?

[00:02:46] It's cool and shrouded in mystery.

[00:02:49] According to the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, Atlantis was a highly advanced civilization that existed around 9000 years before his own time, so about 11400 years ago for us.

[00:03:01] Plato described Atlantis as a powerful and prosperous empire located beyond the pillars of Hercules commonly believed to refer to the straight of Drabaltar.

[00:03:11] I don't know how to pronounce that properly, so apologies for butchering it.

[00:03:15] It should be a Brabaltar.

[00:03:18] Sounds biblical.

[00:03:21] Over the years, numerous conspiracy theories and speculative ideas have emerged regarding the lost city of Atlantis.

[00:03:27] We're going to dive in to the most prominent ideas.

[00:03:32] 1. Plato's account

[00:03:35] The most widely known theory suggests that Atlantis was a real place as described by Plato in his dialogues, Tameis and Riteus.

[00:03:44] According to this theory, Atlantis was a technologically advanced civilization that ultimately fell out of favor with the gods and sank into the ocean as a punishment.

[00:03:52] Hell of a punishment if you ask me.

[00:03:55] There you go.

[00:03:56] Destroyed by gods.

[00:03:59] 2. Location theories

[00:04:02] Atlantis is believed to have been situated in various locations.

[00:04:05] Some proposed that Atlantis was located in the Mediterranean Sea near the island of Santorini, which was the site of a catastrophic volcanic eruption.

[00:04:14] Others suggest it was in the Caribbean near Cuba or the Bahamas.

[00:04:18] Some theories even proposed that Antarctica was the site of Atlantis.

[00:04:23] Always somewhere where a natural disaster either destroyed or hid the city.

[00:04:28] We touched on some of the other Antarctica conspiracy theories, including Flat Earth and Hollow Earth theories on past episodes, which you can download from the site at any time.

[00:04:37] 3. My Favorite

[00:04:40] Alien Connection

[00:04:42] Another popular theory suggests that Atlantis was an extraterrestrial colony or a highly advanced society that had contact with aliens.

[00:04:49] Proponents of this theory argue that Atlantis possessed advanced technology and knowledge beyond what was possible for humans at that time, and could only be explained with the help of extraterrestrials.

[00:05:01] And when the extraterrestrials left, they took that technology with them.

[00:05:07] 4. Mythical Connection

[00:05:10] Some theories proposed that Atlantis was not a physical place but rather a metaphorical or allegorical representation of a lost utopia.

[00:05:18] They suggest that Plato used Atlantis as a cautionary tale to illustrate the consequences of moral decay and hubris.

[00:05:25] Wild.

[00:05:28] Also convenient way to discredit those who believe it's a physical space.

[00:05:33] 5. Sunk in Civilization

[00:05:36] A more scientific theory suggests that Atlantis may have been a real ancient city that was submerged by rising sea levels.

[00:05:44] This theory points to the end of the last ice age when the melting ice caused global sea levels to rise significantly, potentially leading to the submergence of coastal cities.

[00:05:54] Absolutely terrifying. And at least space with one foot really.

[00:05:59] 6. And Finally

[00:06:02] Ancient Advanced Civilization

[00:06:05] According to this theory, Atlantis was an exceptionally advanced civilization that possessed advanced technologies and knowledge far surpassing our current understanding.

[00:06:15] But unlike in other theories, this one proposes that the civilization in question was not a physical place but the people themselves.

[00:06:23] And they traverse to the earth spreading their knowledge.

[00:06:27] Some proponents believe that remnants of this advanced civilization can be found in the similarity of ancient structures around the world, such as the pyramids of Egypt or the Mayan ruins.

[00:06:37] It's important to note as always that despite the fascination surrounding Atlantis, no concrete evidence has been found to support its existence.

[00:06:44] Many theories are based on interpretations of Plato's writings or speculation.

[00:06:49] Atlantis remains a captivating myth sparking the imaginations of people around the world.

[00:06:55] Where do you think it is? Or was it all fairy tale? I've always loved this one.

[00:07:03] My sister thinks I'm crazy. Sure, she believes in aliens and bigfoot but Atlantis, that's too far.

[00:07:12] Alright, question from the bull. I keep doing this as the last few times people won't receive.

[00:07:18] This is from the real SP3 on the message board. They ask, are there any theories of the city of Atlantis leaving Earth?

[00:07:28] Couldn't the city have been a ship that took off?

[00:07:31] Great question. Hey, you're right on the money. It absolutely could have been a ship.

[00:07:36] Problem is, without evidence, it's just a really compelling opinion. And while we know that the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, does make it tough to base it on anything.

[00:07:48] Thanks for joining me again this week on The Arc. As always, keep both your mind and eyes open. Good night.

[00:08:03] For most of us, crime is something we see on the news. We never think it could happen to us until it does.
