[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to Discussion Combustion Podcast Episode 268.

[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I am sitting in Arthur Rawe's seat here.

[00:00:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Kind of unusual, isn't it?

[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're going to do things a little different this week.

[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Arthur is enjoying his vacation over in Sweden.

[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to have him zoom in this week with the eight-hour time difference.

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_01]: The man's on vacation.

[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to let him enjoy himself, and we're going to bring in a good buddy of mine,

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Gregg Langlois from back in Wolfboro, New Hampshire.

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I've known Gregg over 20 years.

[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Back when I lived there, I was a young kid.

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_01]: He kind of took me under his wing a little bit, straightened me out in some areas.

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I was just a young punk just trying to find his way, and Gregg's got some years

[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_01]: on me and took me in and kind of showed me the ways a little bit.

[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_01]: He's been a very loyal friend ever since.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Really excited to bring him in here.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: We're just going to kind of chat, chat about some music,

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_01]: about reminisce on some old times.

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Just a really good guy.

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're ever in Wolfboro, New Hampshire,

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_01]: you got to go over to the Full Belly Deli, give him a visit, say hi, check it out.

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_01]: As I'm getting ready to say here on the show,

[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be in New Hampshire come 2025 coming back for a visit.

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Enough screwing around. Let's get to it.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Gregg Langlois, thanks for being here, man.

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_03]: How are you doing, man?

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Good, good. I'm glad we got this to work.

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_01]: For all the viewers and listeners, we had some technical difficulties.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_01]: getting this to work, but I think it's going to work, Gregg.

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but you know how bad I wanted to do it.

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_03]: So I just kept pumping you and pumping you to get it set up.

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_03]: So I think we're good.

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_01]: 316, we're podcasting.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely. All the way over to the mountainside.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. So it's good to see you, my friend.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: And so, yeah, for for the folks tuning in,

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, listening and watching, Gregg, I met you

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_01]: what 2004, 2005, it was over 20 years ago.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_03]: We I think you were like 15 when I worked with you at DeVildes.

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_03]: And for some reason, we just we made a connection.

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_03]: And I took you in as a little brother and my wife, ex-wife

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_03]: enjoyed having you there too, and she still keeps in contact with you.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_03]: So I think that's awesome.

[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, yeah, we had we had a lot of good times for sure.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_01]: You kind of took me under your wing a little bit.

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I was a young lad, you know, full of, you know,

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_01]: 10 feet tall and bulletproof, mad at the world.

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And you brought me in, you know, you kind of brought me into your home

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: and showed me the ways a little bit and kind of tighten me up.

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_01]: So I've always been thankful for that.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, my dad's always told me that you can only count your true friends

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_03]: in your lifetime on one hand, and you're definitely one of those things.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, it's not very often in life.

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, the buddies I hold close to me, the Beyond Blood,

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, these are guys I've known like you like yourself 20 years.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you don't you don't come across people

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_01]: that you keep lifelong friendships with.

[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's rare.

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_03]: But everybody in podcast land don't think that we've always been good boys

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_03]: because we haven't.

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_03]: He had to come

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_03]: he had to come bail me out one night in a poison contact

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_03]: contact because I got PC.

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, we've always called it Batstone's.

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_03]: What do we call it?

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_01]: We called it the Batstone's PC service, protective custody

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_01]: at your service.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_03]: And he made me roll down the windows the whole way home.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_03]: It was about a 45 minute ride.

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_03]: And I don't blame him because I stunk.

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah. Yeah. You reeked of I think you still had jungle

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_01]: juice stains on your shirt from the Rat Poison concert earlier that night.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, my God. It was terrible.

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_01]: So, but, yeah, well, it makes a good story.

[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Needless to say, when I got home, I slept well.

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I would have said before.

[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah, that's good.

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, work hard, play hard.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_03]: So are you are you a Broncos fan or you're a Patriots fan still?

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's funny.

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't a Patriots fan growing up in New England, which is kind of weird.

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I should say I wasn't a football fan.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't really get into football until right around the time

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I came to Denver, which was the 07 Super Bowl

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_01]: when the Patriots went and lost against the Giants for undefeated season.

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: So from then on, I've been a Patriots fan.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah. Well, that's good.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_03]: They make a lot of changes right now.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, it's just like my boys, the Dolphins, you know,

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm getting a good running game going and stuff,

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_03]: but it doesn't happen overnight.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_03]: It takes a few years, especially now for you guys.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_03]: The Belichick's gone.

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's.

[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like rebuilding a house that burnt down.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a big reorganizational period for sure.

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see. I'm excited about Gerard Mayo at the head coach position.

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we Drake May kind of a young quarterback.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we've got new we're just a lot of new blood in the building.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not saying the Patriots are going to go,

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, deep into the playoffs, but I'd like to at least see us

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe get on a wild card and probably lose to your damn dolphins, which

[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: how how is it, Greg, that you grew up in Providence,

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Rhode Island, right? Riverside, if I'm not mistaken.

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Right. Yes.

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, hop, skip and a jump from from Boston

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: for the folks in Foxborough that don't know that area.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: And you ended up a Miami Dolphins fan.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll tell you, actually, when I was in elementary school

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_03]: up till junior high, I was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_03]: And I used to be into guys like me and Joe Green

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_03]: and Terry Bradshaw and those guys.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_03]: But don't forget, I got a few years on you like the Red Sox.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, you got I remember Jim Rice and Dwight Evans and Jerry Remy.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, one of my all time favorite play is Kali Ostromski.

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Oh, yeah.

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: That's from the old school days.

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you were a Sox fan when they weren't winning, right?

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't until oh four when the curse was reversed.

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, even when I was 12 years old, my best friend,

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_03]: his father was a teacher, a professor up at Bryant College.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_03]: And me and him at 12 years old, we used to go up

[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_03]: because that's where the Patriots did their spring training before Gillette.

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, what was it called Sullivan Stadium?

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you remember that?

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I remember when it was Foxborough Stadium in 2001

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_01]: before Gillette was built.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. Well, before that, it was called Sullivan Stadium

[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_03]: before it became Gillette.

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And before that, they used to go to Bryant College of Providence

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_03]: because they had a good sized football field.

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_03]: And that's where they went for spring training back in the Joe Grogan,

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Steve Grogan days.

[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_01]: OK, so all right.

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. I mean, I was 12 years old looking

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_03]: at looking up at guys like Don Hasselback.

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, oh, my God, you know, the Giants.

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_03]: But they were so friendly.

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Yeah.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. That always leaves a good impression, too,

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_01]: when you meet these guys that you've watched on TV and,

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, you wear their jerseys and then they're nice guys live action.

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I loved it.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I didn't care who I met.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I just wanted to meet famous people.

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that that that leads me to my next memory that I have is when you and I went

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_01]: to we were big WWF fans growing up.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I loved wrestling.

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about it in this program before.

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_01]: My former coach, John Ekstrom, is huge WWF, WWE guy.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_01]: And you and I went down one of those house shows.

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you did. How'd you like it?

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, you and I did back in.

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_01]: What year was that?

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, when we went to the ECW, we met Sandman.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. What was that? 2006, maybe?

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, God. Yeah, that was that was actually CM Punk's debut match.

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man. Yeah.

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_03]: No, that was I'll never forget it because I mean, he's still popular to this day.

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know why, but he is.

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not a big fan.

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I know everyone loves him.

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_01]: He's definitely kind of a fan favorite.

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, we met Sandman, which was a really cool experience.

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I had a shirt signed by him.

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think for folks that follow me on social media, there's a video.

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I think you remember this, Greg, when I first moved to Denver, I thought I was

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought I was cool.

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_01]: So I did the Sandman smash on my head.

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I was banging the Budweiser can and throwing it over my patio.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I never told you this, but I think when I went to the Poison concert,

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_03]: that's the reason I got arrested.

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I got PC'd when I left the beer tent

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_03]: because I was doing the Sandman in front of Kurt DeWilder.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Kurt was there?

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah. Kurt, Luke Freudenberg, all my buddies were there.

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we went over my boat. Good time.

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, I do remember that I wasn't drinking age,

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_01]: so I wasn't able to go to that concert.

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, great stories, of course.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Kurt. You still talk to Kurt?

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Occasionally, I don't see him around too much.

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he's been busy and you get so many people in Wolfborough

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_03]: in the summertime, you don't even see any of the locals, you know.

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess that's a good point.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, again, for folks that don't know,

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I've talked about Wolfburn Hampshire a lot.

[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_01]: My hometown small, you know, still 5000 people there,

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Greg, that live there annually or is it grown? Oh, yeah.

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_03]: It's and it keeps just adding up.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_03]: There's more and more people coming up here.

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's good, though. It's good for the small town business.

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, absolutely.

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, in the summertime, you got to take it while you can get it,

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_03]: because in the wintertime, it's kind of a ghost town.

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it kind of is. It's, you know, gorgeous.

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_01]: You got you got the leaf peepers coming in and it will do a free plug

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_01]: for one of my favorite places growing up and a great place to go

[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_01]: get a bite to eat is the full belly deli right there in Wolfborough.

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Awesome food, dude.

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I love making food and sandwiches for people.

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, anytime you're on Wolfborough, I'll set you right up.

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you heard it right there.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you're in the Wolfborough and Hampshire area

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_01]: visiting, traveling through whatever,

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_01]: you got to go see Greg or with the full belly deli.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_01]: That place is just it's it's been around for a minute, hasn't it, Greg?

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_03]: God, it's been around for probably about 35 years.

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's had a couple of different owners,

[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_03]: but we always keep the food fresh and, you know, the same.

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_03]: All the menu is all the same.

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_03]: And we might even add some specials in there.

[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So and you guys are still old school, right?

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Like it's sit down and eat or you can take out like ecom or like door

[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_01]: dash and stuff hasn't hit Wolfborough or has it?

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I heard it has, but it's not really popular around here right now.

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I guess they're having a hard time getting it in here.

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, with town rules and whatnot.

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see what happens.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I could see it.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I try to stay out of the Wolfborough politics.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_03]: No offense.

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Probably best to stay out of all politics.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Who's kidding who? I've got so many so many heated

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_01]: discussions on the show when I talk politics.

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_01]: People get upset. So I just I don't even do it anymore.

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I just like to go in the grocery stores and go around town

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_03]: and meet new people and say hi to the local people that I've known for years.

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, it's that's what I like about it.

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not into confrontation.

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_01]: No politics.

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_01]: So you never have you never have since the day I met you.

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: You've always been pretty even keel about that.

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_01]: So I've always respected that.

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Hunter's IGA was where I first started my employment.

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I told this story on another podcast here in Denver on John of all trades

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_01]: about working for hunters back in the early 2000s.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_01]: It burnt down last winter, right?

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Winter of twenty two or twenty three, Greg, and they've rebuilt.

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_01]: How's that looking?

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I'll tell you right now, Kevin, when I first moved into my apartment

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_03]: above the full belly, I had a front row seat to that fire

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_03]: and two weeks after I moved in here.

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I remember seeing your photos.

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, we woke we woke up about well, Gina woke up

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_03]: about 10 o'clock at night and looked out the kitchen window.

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And she could see it straight on.

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_03]: And what a sight that was.

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, my God, it was devastating.

[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I remember the news the next morning.

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it burned to nothing.

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_01]: There was nothing left of it.

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it was crazy.

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. They still don't know how it started.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_03]: But I mean, that's irrelevant.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, at this point, I mean, the place is nice inside.

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the produce is like twice as big now.

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_03]: They got a they got a nice deli.

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's it's almost like the first time I walked in there,

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't feel like I was in Wolfboro.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I felt like I was in some other town

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_03]: visiting a store, you know.

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_03]: But I've gotten used to it.

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, I like it.

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_03]: It's pretty self-explanatory where everything is.

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, the people are good there.

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_03]: So that's good.

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. Yeah.

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_03]: So it's nice.

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's good.

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And then you got, of course, Harvest Market,

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_01]: which formerly known as Devilders Market, which is

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_01]: pretty sure that's where you and I met actually was working

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_01]: for Dennis Devilder.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. You were 15 years old and you were working in dairy.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I was. I was a dairyman.

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_03]: You did it all, though.

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_03]: You did grocery and stuff like that.

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, you kept yourself busy and, you know,

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_03]: but I did not like working nights.

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm a morning person.

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd rather get the day done and over with.

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_01]: So, oh, yeah, yeah, no, you've always been a morning person for sure.

[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you'd be you'd be you'd be leaving work as I was arriving to it.

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Your day was done when I was starting.

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I get up about probably 10 after four every morning.

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll get my Dunkin Donuts.

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_03]: And then I had to work.

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_03]: So I like the peace and quiet, too.

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_03]: So that's a long time in the early morning.

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, then you're home.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_01]: You're home before everybody else.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. And then I just take a quick nap and recharge my battery.

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Crack a couple of Steve Weiser's maybe sing a little karaoke.

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_03]: That's it. Well, I haven't done karaoke in a couple of weeks.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm working on my puzzles.

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_03]: You want to see the stack of white mouth puzzles that I have now.

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, my God.

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Are you still doing the Legos?

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I actually ended up they took up too much room in this little apartment.

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I had three display cases going and I ended up selling them.

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_03]: I had about thirty three hundred dollars worth.

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_03]: So I think your display.

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they were fun to put together, but I mean, they just sat there.

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_03]: So I'd rather give them to somebody.

[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I saw I sold them to a store right up the street.

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And they ended up.

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they sell Legos and stuff and kids can go in there and build their Legos.

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_03]: So it's called Bricks by the Lake.

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_03]: So and it's yeah, it's right at the end of Mill Street where I live.

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So OK. All right.

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_03]: They have they have tables set up and they have, you know,

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_03]: they have sets you can buy and whatnot.

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, they're pretty cool.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, that is cool.

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_01]: That's cool. See some new businesses coming in.

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_01]: What's that?

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_01]: That's cool that the small businesses are doing well there in the town.

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_03]: And on the way. Yeah, he's doing pretty well for himself.

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, yeah, he's very nice family that, you know, owns it and whatnot.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, well, so have you been up to deviled or farm

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_01]: in the past few years?

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_03]: No, actually, I well, but probably two years ago, I went up there.

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they got great produce and pumpkins and stuff like that.

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, the flowers are awesome.

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_03]: But I might take a ride up there for Apple season to go pick some apples.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, man. It's about it's almost apple crisp season,

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_03]: especially with these last couple of days here.

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_01]: How is it? Is it still hot up there?

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing about Denver, you know, for folks that don't like

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_01]: when you think Denver, you think we're this Aspen, Colorado

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_01]: mountain town, which we really aren't.

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_01]: We're kind of a high desert here in Denver.

[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's not uncommon for us to see 9800 degrees for months on end.

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, well into the fall, like our weather here is very strange.

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like back home.

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I always explain to people that like New England weather is very consistent.

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_01]: You can look at a calendar and know what to expect.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not that way here. Right. Right.

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_03]: It's it's kind of like it could snow or could rain.

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_01]: It could do anything.

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I've seen it.

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I've seen it 70 degrees in January.

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I've seen it snow on Mother's Day.

[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So you just don't know what you're going to get.

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Wow. That's amazing.

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it is. But it must be cool.

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_03]: It must be cool out there.

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll have to take a road trip one day and come see you.

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I know I've been saying that for years, although I'm well overdue.

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And I went on record on a couple a couple episodes ago

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_01]: to say that I will be at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway Race in 2025.

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_01]: So once I say, yeah, once I say it on air, Greg, there's no, you know,

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_01]: they got to hold my feet to the fire. I'll be there.

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Is there is there a reason for that? The 2025?

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think for me, the best way to come home would be for a race.

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Right. Because with my other show that I do, Mashed the Gas podcast,

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_01]: NASCAR related, you know, it just made it would make sense

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_01]: for me to come back for a visit and hit the race at the same time.

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_01]: It looks like it's going to be next September.

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Nice. So I'll come I'll come.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll come snuggle up with you.

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I was going to say, you know, you already got a place

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_03]: off to spend the dime. So and you'll be fed well.

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah. So, you know, but yeah, it's always a good time.

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'll be looking forward to it. So, yeah.

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah. Yeah, no, we're going to we're going to make that happen

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_01]: for sure, among some other things.

[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, man, it's just good to have you on.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_01]: It's good to catch up a little bit, you know, kind of.

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Yeah. Get the word out there a little bit.

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I want to touch on your rock and roll days too a little bit, Greg.

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Because like I was saying, for folks that follow on social media, you see,

[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, Greg was in a band.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_01]: You played was a live wire is an ACDC cover band, right?

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. For 17 years.

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_01]: That's that's what you were doing when I met you.

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_01]: You were out, you know, gigging in your early 30s,

[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_01]: getting hammered every night, still made it to work.

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, dude, there was I'm surprised I'm still alive some days,

[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_03]: to be honest with you.

[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the habits that I get into and stuff.

[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, now again, I'm 51 years old and I work hard

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_03]: and I come home and want to have a couple of buds.

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And that's it.

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Do you do you miss?

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you miss it at all?

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I miss the singing and being in the band part of it.

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't miss all the party and shit that came with it.

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_01]: See, that's that's the thing.

[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_01]: It's it's hard to be in a band without.

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when I would play with the Ridge Runners here in Denver, man,

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_01]: it was it was rough, you know, just the drugs and alcohol, no sleep,

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_01]: gigging out, you know, it's just it's a it's a tough lifestyle.

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, like I said, in the long run, look what happened

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_03]: to my lead guitar player.

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, he's done already is.

[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, but I mean, you know, I still talk to the other two.

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I still talk to as a matter of fact,

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Chuck and Nate went with me to God smack.

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right on.

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, a couple of weeks ago.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_03]: So we had they played over in Guilford over at.

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I used to call it Meadowbrook. What's it called now?

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I still call it Meadowbrook.

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_03]: It's called the Bank of New Hampshire or something stupid like that.

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's that's how that's how it is out here, too.

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_01]: They rename these venues and we still call it what it was 20 years ago.

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_03]: It's all it's it's changed completely around, Kevin.

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's ridiculous.

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_03]: They they've added stuff.

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_03]: It looks nice.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_03]: But the price of everything is just I paid $20 for a cause like

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_03]: 18 ounce or 24 ounce, I think it was.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Twenty bucks. Yeah.

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Twenty bucks. Yeah. For a tall boy.

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Good.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Then I was so tired, I fell asleep halfway through the concert

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_03]: because I get up so early.

[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_03]: And good thing Nate was sitting next to me and I trust him.

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_03]: But I ended up falling asleep.

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I kicked my $20 bear over and yeah, I had enough of that night.

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's I saw him out here.

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I saw that same tour. They kicked it off here in Denver.

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I was at that show and the audio the audio is terrible at the show.

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I went to there's a place here in Colorado called Fiddler's Green.

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Kind of similar to Meadowbrook kind of saying

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_01]: it's like an acoustic outdoor venue.

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_01]: So rain or shine or whatever.

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, Sully and those guys were good.

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_01]: But I just think the sound guys jacked it up.

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't that good, I didn't think.

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, wow.

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think they were pretty tight at Meadowbrook.

[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I didn't have a problem with them.

[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, again, I was so tired.

[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, I had a couple of bears in the limo on the way there.

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And I was just exhausted.

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_01]: So you guys went in with a limo.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_01]: You went in with style.

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we you know, Cliffy, we Cliffy drove his limo over there.

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Cliff remind me of Cliffy.

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I know I probably do know Eric Clifford.

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_01]: All right. Yeah, it's been many years.

[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I know it's been many years, but yeah, he

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_03]: he went with us, his son, and we went with a bunch of other people.

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, we all chipped in for the it was one hundred

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_03]: and twenty dollars just to park the limo.

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_03]: But we had a good time, but it just turned into a shit show later on.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_03]: And I you know, it makes me not even want to go to concerts anymore.

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Just because every time you go with

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_03]: every time you go with people that are planning on partying,

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_03]: expect a long night, you know?

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, that's that's isn't that the truth?

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, yeah.

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's you know, it's a pretty good hike over there, too.

[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And about an hour from Wolfbro.

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, about that.

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but you wouldn't even know what's sitting in a limo drinking.

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So, oh, yeah.

[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. When you got cocktails and a chauffeur, you're like, who cares?

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it wasn't cocktails.

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_03]: It was more like coolers and Paps Blue Ribbon.

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_01]: So coolers and Paps and PBR.

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_01]: That sounds like you're headed to a country show.

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was going to say you think we're going to see Zach Brown,

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, but you're not much of a country guy, though, are you?

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm not a fan of country, unfortunately.

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_01]: No. What about like,

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, kind of shit back in your, you know, late 80s, early 90s country?

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'll listen to like Kenny Rogers or Juice Newton

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_03]: or Eddie Rabbit or somebody like that.

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_03]: But I just I'm not like a Jason Aldean.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not, you know, I'm trying to accept Jelly Roll right now.

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_03]: I like some of his stuff.

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. What do you think about that?

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I like Jelly Roll as a person.

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I think I've listened to him on a lot of podcasts.

[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_01]: He's a very humble person.

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_03]: He's gone the long way.

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he was incarcerated.

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he was down and out for a while.

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_03]: But I mean, you know, when his wife always stuck by him,

[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_03]: which is really cool.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_03]: But they actually had him at SummerSlam this year.

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, was he there? I think I might have saw something about that.

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, you made it when you're.

[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_03]: He made he made a couple of different appearances in one appearance.

[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_03]: He came in there and he chokeslammed.

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I think the guy's name is Austin Thery.

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_03]: OK, but he chokeslammed him with one arm.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he was just crazy to say.

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_03]: You'll have to you'll have to YouTube it's funny.

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I'm pulling I'm actually taking a look.

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm pulling it up here off to the side.

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, Jelly Roll. Right.

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, the reason he was there, he was promoting his new album.

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_03]: He came in there and sang a song called Liar.

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Was it any good?

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I thought it was pretty good.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he sang it right in the ring.

[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, it was pretty good stuff.

[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I like you know, when he first I first heard him on

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_01]: there's a station here called KDPI Rocks the Rockies,

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_01]: which is all rock, you know, metal, whatever.

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's where he debuted was kind of like a rock and roll guy.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_01]: And then he's gone over to it seems like everybody's migrated country.

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Look at Post Malone. Are you a fan of him?

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I think he's a good person.

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not into his music, but I've seen videos of him.

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_03]: He takes care of all the kids and you know people that appreciate him.

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_03]: He's a very he's a very appreciative guy.

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, yeah, I mean, you look at him and you're like,

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_03]: oh, this guy's nasty.

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Look at all the tattoos.

[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_03]: The same thing with Jelly Roll, you know, they're there for the people.

[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, and Jelly Roll had a tough, you know, a tough road.

[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_01]: He was incarcerated for a while.

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure what he did, but he goes and plays at that jail in Tennessee

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_01]: that he spent time and for the inmates and stuff and tries to motivate,

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, motivate people.

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_01]: It's good to see, you know, you can turn your shit around

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_01]: and be number one on the country charts.

[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, look how far he's turned himself around.

[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he's not even going to he made an appearance

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_03]: at Meadowbrook a couple of years ago,

[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_03]: but now he's got tickets on sale at the Boston Garden.

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, interesting.

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_01]: The Boston.

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's yeah.

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_03]: So he's not coming back to Meadowbrook.

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_01]: No, he's too big now.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_01]: He's got to go to the arena shows.

[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, absolutely.

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_03]: So I mean, he deserves it.

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, God bless him.

[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, absolutely.

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_01]: When you're selling out arenas like that, there's no question.

[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, look at Metallica.

[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Metallica won't play anything smaller than Gillette Stadium.

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Now they, you know, they play these massive, massive football stadiums only.

[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_03]: They were just at Gillette Stadium two weeks ago.

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I saw that.

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I saw they sounded great.

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_03]: A friend of mine, he Troy Glidden, he got him and his son tickets.

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_03]: It was eight hundred dollars.

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Damn for two tickets.

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so two tickets.

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I looked at going with my co-host from Mash the Gas down in Dallas, Texas,

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_01]: and it was the same thing.

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_01]: It was 400 bucks to sit up on the top row where the Cowboys play.

[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not spending 400 bucks to see Metallica look like ants.

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I agree with you.

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, especially years ago when I lived in Rhode Island,

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I actually met Laws Aldrich.

[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, you did tell me that story.

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_01]: He was a solid guy.

[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't he have you get in his limo with him?

[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was only me and like maybe six other people.

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_03]: He had just come out of 94 HAY, the radio station,

[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_03]: and he came out and he let everybody come in his limo,

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_03]: take pictures, sign autographs and yeah, really cool dude.

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_03]: He still had long hair then.

[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So this had to have been, I mean, if he still had long hair,

[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_01]: this was what, mid early 90s?

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what?

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_03]: It was actually the night I was going to see him

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_03]: at the Providence Civic Center.

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_03]: It was the black tour.

[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so yeah, like 91, 92?

[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, right around there.

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they were still pretty young, you know,

[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_03]: but what are you going to do?

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they've been playing for 40 years.

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, Kill them all came out in 83.

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, they obviously love what they're doing.

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_03]: So, you know.

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And they have a monster fan base.

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the fans that they had, you know, like me growing up now,

[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_01]: you have all these new kids that are fans of the new,

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, Hardware to Self-Destruct album and the 72 seasons.

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_01]: They have all these new fans.

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I've always liked Metallica.

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I wasn't a huge fan when I first got into high school,

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_03]: but they just, they kind of built on you.

[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_03]: But I like old Metallica, like when Cliff Burton was with them.

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's crazy because we think of Cliff,

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_01]: he was only there from 83 to 86 and a half ish, right?

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_01]: When you got killed in that bus.

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Right, right.

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_01]: But three of their best albums, right?

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Kill them all, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets.

[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I think Ride the Lightning was probably my favorite album.

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was the heaviest.

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Kill them all was definitely very,

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, a lot of Dave Mustaine, right?

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Because Mustaine had a lot of involvement with that record before they...

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_03]: He didn't sing on that album though.

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_03]: He played guitar on it, but he didn't sing.

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he riffed on, what was it?

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Jumping the fire and Seek and Destroy.

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it was all Hetfield singing.

[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep, yep.

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_01]: That's good stuff.

[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_03]: But they also...

[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I never knew that Am I Evil was a cover originally.

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's a cover?

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Who did it originally?

[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Look it up.

[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't remember who did the original,

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_03]: but if you look it up, they covered somebody else.

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_03]: But I mean, I still love the song.

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_03]: But I can't...

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_03]: You'll have to look it up to see who actually did that.

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: So best show you ever been to of all time?

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Me?

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, dude, there's been...

[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a hard choice.

[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know either.

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll have to say like my favorite bands,

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_03]: like when I saw Judas Priest and Megadeth together,

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_03]: that was nuts.

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_03]: But then I saw the Ramones at Rhode Island College.

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, that's like two different things.

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, but they were both awesome shows.

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Some time ago, yeah.

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'll tell you, I get to see Rush three times.

[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.

[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_03]: And Neil Part was just...

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Unfortunately, I got to see a lot of people that aren't around anymore,

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_03]: like Tom Petty, Rush, amongst other people.

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_03]: But I mean, I used to save a lot of my ticket stubs.

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I still have quite a bit,

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_03]: but I think my sister took some of my older ones.

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_01]: There is no ticket stubs anymore because everything's digital.

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_01]: You get these QR codes on your phone.

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And I hate that because I always looked at it as a souvenir.

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_01]: 100%.

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they do the same thing over NASCAR.

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_01]: You get your digital ticket and then you can pay extra for a paper ticket.

[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, come on, guys.

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Come on.

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_03]: They get you any way they can.

[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I like...

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I've always collected ticket stubs and put them in frames or next to whatever.

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Just like you just said, I have a framed with all different ticket stubs on it.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_03]: It kind of looks like a puzzle almost.

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just packed with Ticketmaster little stubs?

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, there's like, like I said, there's like Judas Priest, Tom Petty,

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Ken...

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Not Kansas.

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_03]: David Lee Roth, stuff like, you know, old school tickets.

[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_01]: David Lee Roth, yeah.

[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_03]: That wasn't so great, but it is what it is.

[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_03]: No, that's why I always thank myself when I saw Van Halen.

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_03]: It was Sammy Hagar.

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Man, Sammy Hagar, what a beast.

[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like 74, 75 now?

[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he just came to the Xfinity Center in Mansfield,

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_03]: NAS about two, three weeks ago.

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I heard a rumor.

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.

[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was gonna say, I heard a rumor that those guys are going to do Chickenfoot again.

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_01]: That Chickenfoot is going to go back on a tour.

[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember Chickenfoot?

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I remember it was Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar.

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And Joe Satriani.

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, he was...

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's right.

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're right.

[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_03]: So kind of like a new version of Damn Yankees.

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought they had some pretty cool songs, you know, kind of a cool sound.

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, great musicians.

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Satriani, probably one of the most underrated guitar players, I would say, of all time.

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's in the conversation.

[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I remember him back in high school.

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, Rippen.

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, massive grip as a guitar player.

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I always kind of looked up to him because that's always a big conversation, right?

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Who's the best guitar player?

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yves-Ain Momstein.

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_03]: He was another one.

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_03]: He was a good guitar player.

[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, there's tons of...

[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, then you've got to look at people like Eddie Van Halen and...

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, it depends on what kind of music you like because you might say that

[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_03]: like somebody like Dimebag Darrell or somebody was the best guitar player.

[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, it depends on what kind of music you're listening to.

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Did you ever see Pantera?

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_03]: No.

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Never saw them.

[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_03]: They actually, when they came to Gillette Stadium, they actually opened up for Metallica.

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's when Zach Wild from Black Label Society stepped in to play Dimebag's part.

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_01]: He went on tour with those guys and filled in.

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I didn't know that.

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_03]: That's awesome.

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you're a Zach Wild fan, but I've seen Zach probably three times.

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:30:01] [SPEAKER_03]: We used to play a song by them in the band.

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_03]: We used to play Stillborn.

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what a great song.

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Great, great song.

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I used to love it.

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, when I first heard that song, when I heard Zach Wild's voice,

[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was Ozzy.

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, 100%.

[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the dude went on a world tour with Ozzy when he was 19.

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_03]: But the voice, when I first heard it, I was like, that's Ozzy.

[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_03]: But it wasn't.

[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_03]: It was Zach Wild.

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Ozzy.

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_01]: That's somebody that's not doing well.

[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_01]: And then you heard about Steven Tyler, right?

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_01]: His voice is done.

[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_03]: So is David Coverdale's from Whitesnake.

[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I didn't know that.

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know that.

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_01]: The guy from Whitesnake blew his voice out as well.

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I was supposed to see them twice.

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_03]: One time was with Judas Priest over at Meadowbrook's, and he blew his vocal chords.

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_03]: And the same thing, the next time I was supposed to see him, same thing happened.

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_03]: So it's like give it up.

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's what Steven Tyler did.

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_01]: He had to cancel the show here at Denver, and they're like, oh, we're going to reschedule.

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And then he came out.

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I can't.

[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm done.

[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_01]: My voice is cooked.

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, you got no one to quit, you know?

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd rather go out with a good name than kick my own ass and look like shit

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_03]: that people remember me by.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah.

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_01]: That's a good point.

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, and when is enough?

[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, James Hetfield just turned 60.

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I bet those guys play another five or six years.

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I would say so.

[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_03]: They'll probably come out with at least one more album.

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, and I'll tell you who's on my bucket list right now.

[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I was talking to my co-host from Aska, ACDC.

[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I've never seen them.

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And their song Shot in the Dark has been like the theme song of this podcast for four years now.

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Came off one of their records during COVID.

[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I'd love to see.

[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_01]: You've seen ACDC a time or two, no?

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I saw them once at Gillette Stadium.

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_03]: It was the, oh my God, what song was the train?

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Black Ice?

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Black Ice.

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that came out right after I moved out to Denver.

[00:31:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was the year I saw them down at Gillette Stadium.

[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I really liked them.

[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_03]: But I don't know if I'd see them now though, because, you know,

[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_03]: they don't have, what's his name anymore?

[00:32:11] [SPEAKER_03]: The rhythm you talk about, Malcolm.

[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Malcolm's no more, huh?

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Malcolm passed away a couple of years ago.

[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_03]: And you know, they're starting to get old.

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I mean, Brian Johnson's what, 75?

[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's got to be up there.

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah.

[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Rock and roll.

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Rock and roll, dude.

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_03]: So all right, man.

[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_03]: You going to have a good night?

[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_03]: What are you going to do after this?

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Probably do some editing, get ready to go.

[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Happy Friday America is coming on this channel this week with a

[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_01]: special guest co-host with Arthur being in Sweden.

[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Again, this is, Art's not around,

[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_01]: so we're goofing off while he's out of the country.

[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Good for you.

[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, when the cat's away, the mice will play.

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Something like that.

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, cool, man.

[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you jumping on.

[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I know it's two hours later.

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_03]: It's always a pleasure to talk to you.

[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And then you can watch this back and make fun of us

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_01]: on here goofing around and send it to your friends.

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, send it to me once you get it edited.

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm just going to send it tonight.

[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_01]: What is it?

[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Wednesday, August 21st.

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to drop it immediately.

[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, what's it?

[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_03]: What's it only five o'clock at your place?

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we just hit five here in Denver.

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm hitting seven.

[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Normally I'd be cracking a cold one,

[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_01]: but three months off alcohol.

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Jesus.

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Really?

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, three months.

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_01]: No booze.

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Feeling good, man.

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_01]: You had to give it up.

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you go back and watch old episodes of the show.

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I was drunk on most of the episodes.

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I would drink six, eight beers during the show.

[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So.

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, it's not a bad thing, but you know,

[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks to Facebook for helping us out with that.
